Kenya Moore broke her silence on Saturday after she was reportedly suspended indefinitely from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
The actress took to social media to address reports that she was suspended from filming the reality series after allegedly sharing explicit images of castmate Brittany Eady at the opening of Kenya Moore Hair Spa in Atlanta, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The images, which were reportedly displayed on posters at last week’s event were “allegedly found online,” Entertainment Tonight reported.
Moore slammed the reports in a statement on X (Twitter), writing, “I would never engage in revenge porn, I have never distributed private images or footage of anyone, nor solicited images owned by others to use to threaten or blackmail. I have always been vindicated. I can’t talk about STORY even with people planting fake news.”
The 53-year-old media personality also spoke out on her Instagram Story, saying, “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. The truth always comes to light,” per THR.
The alleged incident was reportedly filmed by Bravo cameras, with ET reporting that “the network is still reviewing the content Kenya displayed during filming.” Eady has been accused of making threats towards Moore before the hair salon opening, allegedly using the word “gun,” according to Page Six.
Eady seemingly addressed the reports in a post on her Instagram Story, writing, “It’s never a good feeling being targeted or HAZED BY SOMEONE I thought would embrace me into a new circle, that I never met.”
She added, “For the record, I’ve never once had possession of any weapons or threatened anyone ever. I’ve never been to jail, in [a] fight, or even had as much as a speeding ticket. That’s not my character. I am hurt by the narrative that’s being displayed. Wrong is wrong.”
Moore has been a cast member on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” since 2012. The reality series is currently filming its 16th season, which will premiere in 2025, according to Bravo.

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland are bringing the “Verzuz” series back with a new major platform for viewers to watch musicians face off in a song-against-song battle.
The legendary producers announced Wednesday that Verzuz cemented an exclusive partnership for independent distribution with the social media site X.
Swizz Beatz said he’s looking forward to the new chapter for Verzuz, which became popular during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Not only are we excited to have Verzuz on X, we’re excited to help X build the biggest entertainment company in the world,” he said in statement before he thanked several X executives including owner Elon Musk for believing in their vision. “We can’t wait to get back to work.”
Both companies agreed on a “mutually beneficial alliance” where Swizz Beatz and Timbaland maintain full ownership and creative control, while X receives exclusive distribution rights.
Timbaland said he’s thrilled to expand their viewership through X, which has more than 300 millions monthly active users. Viewers will be able to watch “Verzuz” for free.
“Our goal has always been to bring Verzuz to the world which we can now do bigger than ever,” he said.
“Verzuz” came to life in 2020 after a friendly competition between Swizz Beatz and Timbaland on social media started off to entertain homebound fans during the pandemic. But their platform eventually evolved into a place where some of music’s biggest stars competed against each other in the same fashion.
The series had grown from a novel event to bridging music’s past and present. It began on Instagram Live to having in-person battles in front of an audience.
Some of the most epic battles have included John Legend vs. Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu vs. Jill Scott, Gladys Knight vs. Patti LaBelle, Gucci Mane vs. Jeezy, Brandy vs. Monica and Snoop Dogg vs. DMX. An April battle between Babyface vs. Teddy Riley ended abruptly due to audio issues but was completed another night.
The series was acquired by Triller in 2021, but Swizz Beatz and Timbaland sued the social video platform company for breach of contract. The producers settled with Triller in 2022.

In a conversation with Billboard, the Los Angeles-born producer clarified that, despite fan speculation, he didn’t sample Nas’ “Ether” while making the record. “I definitely [saw] someone say that,” the “Ballin’” creator said.
“[The] second thing you might not know is I heard the song when everyone else heard it. I never heard it before. I wasn’t in the studio with him,” Mustard continued. “When I was making it, in the back of my head, [I was thinking], ‘What would Dr. Dre do if Lil Jon was in the studio and they [were] collabing on a beat?’”
He also revealed, “It took me approximately 30 minutes to make that beat, and five: I didn’t know he was going to gas that beat like that.”
Outside of his production on Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” Mustard is preparing to launch his fourth studio album, FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED. It’s expected to hit streaming services on July 26, and so far, the only confirmed feature is “PARKING LOT” with Travis Scott.

Remy Ma’s Son Arrested On Murder Charge Stemming From 2021 Shooting
Jayson Scott, the 23-year-old son of “All The Way Up” rapper Remy Ma, has been arrested on a murder charge stemming from the fatal 2021 shooting of a man from Queens, New York.
First reported by Fox 5′s Lisa Evers, NYPD has confirmed Scott’s arrest alongside another man, 22-year-old Richard Swygert, on first-degree murder charges of 43-year-old Darius Guillebeaux, who was killed in broad daylight three years ago.
The shooting took place on the intersection of 148th Street and Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens on June 7, 2021, during which Guillebeaux was hit in the head and chest. The motive behind the shooting is still unclear. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that it was a murder for hire.
Scott and Swygert were also hit with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment charges.
The unfortunate news comes one decade after his mother, Remy Ma, was released from prison after serving six years of her eight-year sentence. The There’s Something About Remy: Based On A True Story MC was convicted of intentional assault after shooting a member of her entourage over $3,000 in 2007, according to The New York Times.
One year after her release, the Bronx rhymer took to social media to reflect on her life behind bars, writing, “At this moment 1 year ago I was sitting in a cell wondering when I was coming home. I had actually gave up hoping that it would even happen. I was supposed to be released July 31, 2014 & I had woke up on August 1, 2014 STILL in prison; I was devastated. Yet, by the grace of my merciful God, I was able to awake the next day at home, in my bed, and post my 1st selfie. At this moment I was so happy but still in shock that I was actually ‘free.’”
Nelly and Ashanti Quietly Married 6 Months Ago
It might be getting a little hot in here for Nelly and Ashanti. That's because the couple have already taken the next step in their relationship and gotten married, despite announcing their engagement and pregnancy in April.
Their wedding date was listed as Dec. 27, 2023, in public records obtained by TMZ. While the documents did not specify exactly where the "Body on Me" collaborators got hitched, it did say that the marriage became official in St. Louis County, where Nelly's hometown of St. Louis is located.
Nelly and Ashanti's marriage news comes more than two decades of their first meeting. The pair dated during the early aughts but broke up in 2013, with Ashanti saying at the time that they were focusing on their respective careers.
However, Nelly, 49, confirmed in September that they had rekindled their romance after years apart.
"I think it surprised both of us," the "Hot in Herre" rapper said on the Boss Moves with Rasheeda show. "But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more, where you could be like, 'Well, yo, let me exactly see, maybe, what they see.' 'Cause you know we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. And we know we're wrong, but we're going to stand on it."
Ashanti, 43, announced her pregnancy with Nelly's baby earlier this year, saying that the past months have been filled with "love, hope and anticipation."
"Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to," the "Rock Wit U" singer told Essence in an April statement, "and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience."

Opal Lee, Grandmother of Juneteenth, moves into new house on site of burned childhood home
It was June 19, 1939, when Opal Lee remembers her parents sending her to a friend’s house several blocks away when an angry mob showed up at her family’s home to protest Black residents moving into the Fort Worth, Texas, neighborhood. Lee was 12 years old.
That night, the mob burned down the Lee family home. It was 74 years after enslaved Black people in the U.S. found out they were freed.
Now, 85 years later, Lee, known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth for her efforts in getting the date recognized as a national holiday, has received keys to a new home built on the site of the childhood home that was reduced to ashes.
“It amazes me because we would have been good neighbors, you know,” Lee told GMA3 co-anchor DeMarco Morgan during the first interview inside her new home. “They didn't see it that way,” Lee said of that time during the Jim Crow era.
Lee, 97, is known for her civil rights activism and her Juneteenth appeal. In 2016, she walked 1,400 miles from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., to draw attention to the date.
Reflecting on the legacy of her work, Lee looks to the young people to take the next steps.
“I'm wanting young people to realize that we can make a difference. And so I'm asking them to make themselves a committee of one to change somebody’s mind,” Lee said. “We know people who aren’t on the same page will change their minds; not gonna happen in a day. You'll have to work at it. But if people have been taught to hate, they can be taught to love.”
For years, she tried to find out who owned the land where her family’s home was burned down. Eventually, she found out it was owned by Habitat for Humanity, an organization for which Lee had previously served on the board.
When she tried to buy it, the nonprofit declined to sell, instead giving her the land and plans for building a new home on it for free.
Now, in the new house – furnished with a mix of new and some of her own vintage pieces, decorated with handpainted pictures of Lee and her family, and completed with a fully stocked fridge – Lee says she is humbled and grateful to have the home.
“My mom would say, Baby Opal – that’s what she called me – it’s about time. It's about time,” Lee said.
Diddy's Ex-Bodyguard Confirms Rapper's 'Freak Offs' With Cassie And Male Escorts
Roger Bonds has weighed in Cassie's allegation that Sean "P. Diddy" Combs would force her to engage in sex acts with male sex workers. In an interview with VladTV, Diddy's former bodyguard recalled seeing male escorts go to the rapper's hotel room for what were dubbed "freak offs."
Being the "nosy" person that he acknowledged, Roger said he once encountered one of the male escorts in an elevator and watched him go into Diddy's room. "I stayed on the elevator and the elevator stopped on Puff's floor," he alleged. "He just walked straight to Puff's door."
Roger said that Diddy always had a camera bag with him and had an assistant who was instructed to keep a close eye on the camera and cassettes. He claimed that one time his then-boss went mad when the assistant lost one of the tapes.
Roger also said he would buy sex toys for Diddy and that Diddy likes "big black d**ks." Putting two and two together when he read Cassie's lawsuit, Roger said, "So when I read the lawsuit, I kind of had to go back and think to myself, 'Damn, was that that big black c**k for her or was it for him?' "
In her lawsuit filed in November 2023, Cassie alleged Diddy forced her to engage in acts with male escorts while he filmed the activities. The lawsuit noted that the rapper had a collection of masquerade masks, drugs and recording equipment.
The assistants were reportedly responsible for arranging and managing these encounters, sometimes involving Cassie searching online for suitable men, as specified by Diddy. She said these events were orchestrated to fulfill Diddy's fantasy of voyeurism.
Diddy settled Cassie's lawsuit one day after it was filed despite denying the allegations she made against him. In May, CNN obtained and published a video of Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway in a 2016 incident.
Meanwhile, in his interview with VladTV, Roger has shared other details about Diddy's relationship with Cassie. He said he witnessed the R&B singer punched Diddy in the face during a fight and claimed that Diddy beat out his then-girlfriend over her alleged affair with Kid Cudi.
Missy Elliott 'Super Excited' For First Headlining Tour Despite Health Issues
The 52-year-old hip-hop artist opened up about her upcoming "Out of This World - The Missy Elliott Experience" tour in a new interview published on Wednesday, June 19. Speaking to PEOPLE following a long rehearsal, she said, "It's full days, then I go home, and the work continues. But I feel good. I'm super excited."
About her preparation ahead of the tour, Missy shared, "Listen, every morning my regimen is I get up, wash my face, brush my teeth and walk. I say my prayers as I'm walking, and then all of these ideas start coming to mind. I'll call everybody like, 'I want to swing from this,' and they're like, 'Do you know how much that costs?' "
The "Get Ur Freak On" artist went on to express her gratitude to be alive, "Every day I wake, I'm blessed to be here and in good health. I'm feeling so much better now." She further told the outlet that she has been managing her Graves' disease with medication, adding, "That was a run. During the chat, Missy also talked about Ciara asking her to go on a tour together. She recalled, "Ciara had been asking me and asking me. I'd be like, 'Okay,' but then I'd always find myself in the studio doing something else."

Donald Sutherland has died at 88: Revered Actor In ‘Ordinary People’, ‘MASH’, ‘Hunger Games’ and Others
Donald Sutherland, the beloved actor who starred in scores of films from The Dirty Dozen, MASH and Klute to Animal House and Ordinary People to Pride & Prejudice and The Hunger Games franchise and won an Emmy for Citizen X, died Thursday in Miami after a long illness. He was 88.
The 2017 Honorary Oscar recipient also is the father of Emmy-winning 24 and Designated Survivor actor Kiefer Sutherland and veteran CAA Media Finance exec Roeg Sutherland. CAA confirmed the news to Deadline.
In some of his most well-known roles, he perfected a laconic, wry and dead-serious delivery. Such was the case for characters including the cool-headed amateur murder investigator John Klute, opposite Jane Fonda’s terrified and erratic call girl Bree Daniels in Klute; as Hawkeye Pierce in the film MASH, where he played opposite Elliott Gould’s cut-up Trapper John; and in Nicolas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now as skeptical John Baxter, who does not believe the claims of wife Laura (Julie Christie) that their recently dead daughter is reaching out from the other side.
In one early change-of-pace characterization, Sutherland played a sadistic fascist in Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1976 epic 1900, in which his character gleefully swings a child by the heels, bashing the boy’s head against a wall.
Born on July 17, 1935, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, Donald Sutherland amassed some 200 film and TV credits spanning more than 60 years, from guesting on episodes of 1960s series including Suspense, The Avengers, Court Martial and The Odd Man to last year’s Paramount+ drama Bass Reeves. His big break in movies came with Robert Aldrich’s star-packed 1967 World War II drama The Dirty Dozen, playing misfit felon Vernon Pinkley opposite Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, George Kennedy, Telly Savalas and others. A big hit in theaters, it remains a seminal American war movie.
His next big role was as Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce in Robert Altman’s 1970 Korean War dramedy MASH. The alternatively harrowing and hilarious film earned five Oscar nominations including Best Picture, winning for Ring Lardner Jr.’s biting screenplay, and fueled the 1972-83 CBS series in which Alan Alda played Hawkeye.
Sutherland followed that with another star-laden war movie, 1970’s Kelly’s Heroes, playing Sgt. Oddball alongside Clint Eastwood, Don Rickles, Savalas and others. That led to perhaps his biggest star turn, in the 1971 Alan J. Pakula crime drama Klute. He played opposite Fonda as New York gumshoe John Klute, who is hired to find a chemical company executive who has disappeared. Fonda won her first Oscar for the role, and Andy Lewis & Dave Lewis were nominated for their Original Screenplay.
Sutherland’s next big movie was Nicolas Roeg’s psychological thriller Don’t Look Now, which he followed up with the 1974 international espionage comedy S*P*Y*S, reteaming with Gould, and 1975’s Hollywood-set Day of the Locust. Starring with William Atherton, Karen Black and Burgess Meredith, he played accountant Homer Simpson, who covets Black’s aspiring actress Faye Greener.
With his film career in high gear, Sutherland starred in yet another big-name war movie in The Eagle Has Landed (1976), with Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, and then had a small role in the 1977 John Landis-directed farce The Kentucky Fried Movie, penned by future Airplane! filmmakers David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker.
The year 1978 would see Sutherland headline three disparate films: heist comedy The Great Train Robbery with Sean Connery and Lesley-Anne Down; horror thriller remake Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Brooke Adams and Jeff Goldblum; and the beloved early-’60s fraternity romp Animal House, also directed by Landis.
He had a supporting but key role in the latter, playing Faber College English lit Professor Dave Jennings. His deadpan character bores his classes with lectures on John Milton in one scene and is sleeping with student Katy (Karen Allen) in the next — famously exposing his rear end while reaching into a cabinet. Katy was the girlfriend of Boon (Peter Riegert), one of the Delta Tau Chi fraternity members. The cast also included John Belushi, Tim Matheson, Stephen Furst, Bruce McGill, Kevin Bacon, Amadeus Oscar nominee Tom Hulce and John Vernon.
After starring with Three’s Company‘s Suzanne Somers in the 1980 comedy Nothing Personal, Sutherland’s next film was among his biggest. He played Calvin Jarrett, a man grieving for one son and dealing with the suicide attempt of another in Ordinary People, director Robert Redford’s generational drama that won four Oscars including Best Picture. The film’s starry cast also included Mary Tyler Moore, Timothy Hutton, Judd Hirsch, Elizabeth McGovern and others.
Sutherland continued to make films throughout the 1980s and had a key role in Ron Howard’s 1991 firefighter drama Backdraft, playing an imprisoned pyromaniac who helps investigators by saying the arsonist they are hunting must be a firefighter also.
In the 1990s, Sutherland appeared in films including JFK, playing a composite character called Mr. X; Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Merrick, who convinces Kristy Swanson’s titular character that she is the Chosen One and helps her along the way; and Six Degrees of Separation, starring with Will Smith, Stockard Channing and Ian McKellen.
The actor won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for playing Russian Col. Mikhail Fetisov in HBO’s 1995 serial-killer thriller telepic Citizen X, starring with Stephen Rea and Max von Sydow, and had a supporting role that same year in Wolfgang Peterson’s spreading-virus film Outbreak, starring Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo and Morgan Freeman.
He also earned an Emmy nom for his lead role in the 2006 Lifetime miniseries Human Trafficking, starring with Mira Sorvino and Robert Carlyle.
Sutherland continued to work in films into the 2010s including A Time to Kill, Shadow Conspiracy, Fallen, Instinct, The Italian Job, Cold Mountain, Fierce People, Horrible Bosses and 2005’s Pride & Prejudice. But his next big role would be perhaps his most famous.
He was cast in 2012’s The Hunger Games as President Coriolanus Snow, the fascist dictator of Panem. He also starred as the chief antagonist in the sequels Catching Fire (2013) and Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 (2014). The films based on Suzanne Collins’ YA novels were global smashes, shattering box office records and making a star of lead Jennifer Lawrence.
Sutherland’s Snow ruled the dystopian world of Panem with an iron fist, and he haunted heroine Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) long after her first rule-breaking victory in the brutal competition because he saw the spark of rebellion in her. He always had a fresh rose clipped to his lapel, and rumor had it that he poisoned people.
Sutherland did not appear in last year’s prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, with the role of younger Snow played by Tom Blyth. Collins outlined Snow’s backstory in the book on which that film was based. Before he had taken the political position, Snow was a power-hungry young mentor to tribute Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler).
Sutherland continued to make films for much of the rest of his life, including Ad Astra (2019) and Moonfall (2022), but also made several appearances on the small screen. He starred with Peter Krause, Jill Clayburgh and William Baldwin in the 2007-09 ABC family dramedy Dirty Sexy Money and co-starred in the 2010 Starz miniseries The Pillars of the Earth, led by Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Matthew Macfadyen, Hayley Atwell and Eddie Redmayne.
Sutherland’s extensive TV credits also include co-starring in the 2013-15 crime drama Crossing Lines, which aired on NBC and later Ovation in the U.S., and as J. Paul Getty in the 2018 FX drama Trust. He won a Golden Globe for playing Clark Clifford in HBO’s John Frankenheimer-directed telefilm Path to War, about how President Lyndon Johnson’s administration dealt with the Vietnam War in the mid-1960s. The cast also included Michael Gambon, Alec Baldwin and others.
He also appeared in the first season of Audience Network’s Ice, opposite Jeremy Sisto, Cam Gigandet and Ray Winstone; in Roku Channel’s 2022 crime drama Swimming with Sharks, with Kiernan Shipka and Diane Kruger; and in HBO’s 2020 miniseries The Undoing as the father of Nicole Kidman’s lead character Grace Fraser.
His final TV role was recurring as Isaac Parker, an imposing and commanding judge in the Fort Smith Courthouse with a complicated legacy, opposite David Oyelowo in Taylor Sheridan’s 2023 Paramount+ series Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Sutherland also starred as Humbert in the short-lived 1981 Broadway production of Lolita and in the video for Kate Bush’s 1985 song “Cloudbusting.” It was the second single from her album Hounds of Love, following her seminal hit “Running Up That Hill.”
Sutherland also wrote and produced the 1972 film FTA, exec produced Steelyard Blues the following year and was the writer-director of 2015 toon telefilm Pirate’s Passage.
Among his many and varied accolades are an NAACP Image Award for Klute; a 2019 Fondazione Mimmo Rotella Award at the Venice Film Festival for The Burnt Orange Heresy; and nominations for BAFTA, Kids’ Choice, MTV Movie & TV and Critics Choice awards. He got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011; received a 2017 Governors Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences along with Agnès Varda, Charles Burnett and Owen Roizman; and was on the Cannes Competition jury in 2016.
Along with sons Kiefer and Roeg, Sutherland is survived by his wife, Francine Racette; sons Rossif and Angus; daughter Rachel; and four grandchildren. The family will hold a private celebration of life.

Gayle acknowledged Justin‘s wrongdoing but told cohosts Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson he is “not an irresponsible person. He’s not reckless, careless. Clearly this is not a good thing. He knows that.”
At the end, Gayle pointed out that “there’s never any excuse ever” for drunk driving.
Brandy Returns To Horror In Chilling New Film, ‘The Front Room’
Brandy is returning to the world of horror for the first time since 1998, but in an elevated way with A24. The “Christmas Party For Two” singer stars as Belinda in the new thriller, The Front Room, alongside Kathryn Hunter and Andrew Burnap.
While pregnant with her first child, Belinda’s life becomes increasingly difficult after her father-in-law dies, forcing her husband’s mother, Solange (Hunter), to move in with them.
In the newly-released trailer, the couple was hesitant to take Solange in and were right for having said reservations. She takes over Belinda’s baby nursery and that’s just the foundation of where their tensions lie, because Solange also scolds the couple’s choice in naming their daughter, Fern. However, things take a turn for the worse, Burnap’s character reveals that his mother believes she’s possessed, powered by the Holy Spirit, and is a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
“You’re a racist,” Belinda states at the dinner table as Solange quips back, “You don’t know what real racism is.” As the child’s birth nears, Belinda believes that Solange is pure evil as the latter tries to turn her husband against her. “Being cooped up with a newborn and mother-in-law can drive anyone crazy,” Belinda says later on before correcting Solange’s pronunciation of her name.

The "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker is believed to have tried to conceal her baby bump during her recent public appearance. While performing at Coney Island in New York City on Saturday, June 15, she rocked a white long-sleeve shirt, a gray vest and a dark gray skirt. Her modest look is so uncharacteristic of the raptress, who usually shows off her skin in skimpy outfits.
According to Media Take Out, Cardi and Offset were initially scheduled to announce the pregnancy this week. However, they may have to put their announcement on hold as the former Migos star has been caught in another cheating scandal.
Recently, a woman went on social media to claim that Offset got a woman named Pree pregnant and then paid to have an abortion. The alleged mistress is described as a beautiful brown-skinned Atlanta Instagram model.
The woman who leaked the info allegedly has ties to many celebrities and athletes and claimed that the alleged mistress was her former friend. However, the two ladies fell out and the woman spilled the beans on her Instagram Stories.
The woman was fuming because Kayla B, another friend of Pree, allegedly accused her of telling Cardi about Pree's pregnancy. "Kayla walked up to met at the bar at CAVO and said 'what you pose to said about my bestfriend Press and off' and I walked her down before she could finish her sentence. Overly did it!" the woman posted. "I had to hit first cause I'm like is this a hit???? Like did buddy and Pree send Kayla because they think I'm telling cardi everything."
"Buddy offered me 15k!! To not tell nothing ! I KEPT IT SOLID," she wrote in another Story featuring a screenshot of an alleged receipt of the hush money. "This was march 6! The same dayyyyy/night that KAYLA WALKED UP TO ME RANDOMLY TRYING TO [censored] ME!"

Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain Wants 50 Cent Sanctioned For Failing To Appear For deposition in her assault lawsuit against him
Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain is now petitioning the courts to force 50 Cent to appear for a deposition in her assault lawsuit against him
In newly unveiled court documents, Monegain is alleging that the “Power” creator and his attorneys have failed to provide a deposition date. They’ve reportedly been made aware of a request to do so several times, though Monegain is maintaining it has yet to happen. Her attorneys offered June 13th, 2024 though that date came and went without cooperation from 50’s side.
“Due to the pendency of the August 5th, 2024, mediation date, an Order compelling [50] to sit for deposition and provide testimony must be made forthwith,” part of the documents read.
Additionally, Monegain hopes the “Many Men” rapper will be sanctioned with at least $5,000 for his failure to sit for his testimony in the case.
This is just the latest update in 50 and Monegain’s drama. She sued him in January 2024 for an August 2023 incident where 50 hit her with a microphone. While attending his Final Lap Tour show at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Monegain says 50 apparently grew frustrated with his microphone not working and threw it into the crowd. The device struck her in the face, causing a concussion, forehead laceration, and bruises. Monegain has stated that her injuries led to long-term damage and mounting medical bills, which is why she is suing for an unspecified amount.
The 50s team has claimed that he didn’t intentionally hit Monegain. It’s unclear why he has dodged the deposition.
Madonna ‘Celebration Tour’ Lawsuit Dropped With No Settlement
The concertgoers sued the 65-year-old pop star after attending the December 13, 2023, stop on her Celebration Tour at Barclays Center in New York City. They stated that the show was advertised to begin at 8:30 p.m., but they did not see her take the stage until “between 10:45 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.” They accused Madonna, promoter Live Nation and the venue of “unconscionable, unfair and/or deceptive trade practices” by listing 8:30 p.m. as the start time.
As a result of the Queen of Pop’s tardiness, they claimed that they were “left stranded in the middle of the night” with limited public transportation options and increased prices for ride-share services. (Barclays Center is located next to the New York subway system’s Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center Station, which serves nine subway lines 24 hours a day, though trains are less frequent late at night.)
Jeff Warshafsky, a lawyer for Madonna and Live Nation, wrote in a June 19 letter (via People) that the lawsuit’s dismissal “was not the result of any settlement” between the plaintiffs and the defendants.
“Defendants believe that this action was a frivolous strike suit designed to force them to incur legal expenses,” Warshafsky said. “Plaintiffs have now abandoned this lawsuit when it became clear that this approach would not result in a settlement payment and that they would need to oppose defendants’ motion to dismiss the Amended Complaint.”
In April, Madonna’s lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the case, writing, “Plaintiffs speculate that ticketholders who left the venue after 1 a.m. might have had trouble getting a ride home or might have needed to wake up early the next day for work. That is not a cognizable injury.”
They also said that no “reasonable concertgoer” would expect the headlining act to begin their set at the exact time advertised on their ticket.
“Rather, a reasonable concertgoer would understand that the venue’s doors will open at or before the ticketed time, one or more opening acts may perform while attendees arrive and make their way to their seats and before the headline act takes the stage, and the headline act will take the stage later in the evening,” they wrote.
In late May, Madonna was hit with another lawsuit over her Celebration Tour. Concertgoer Justen Lipeles alleged that he and the audience at her May 7 show in Los Angeles were subjected to “pornography without warning,” including “topless women on stage simulating sex acts.” He also claimed that the “Like a Virgin” legend had the air conditioning turned off during the performance, causing him to fall ill in the sweltering heat.
Madonna, whose stage persona has long embraced erotic imagery, has not made a public statement on Lipeles’ complaint.
Travis Scott arrested for disorderly intoxication, trespassing early Thursday
Musician Travis Scott was arrested and booked into Miami-Dade County Jail early Thursday morning on charges of trespassing property after being given a warning and disorderly intoxication, county jail records show.
Scott, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, a hip-hop artist with hits like “Sikko Mode” and “Fe!N,” was arrested at 1:44 a.m. at the Miami Beach Marina and was booked into jail at 4:35 a.m., according to authorities and jail records.
A $650 bond has been submitted for the 33-year-old, jail records show. Scott bonded out of jail at 8 a.m. Thursday, according to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
Scott is one of the premiere rap artists of the last decade and is perhaps best known for his raucous live performances that have occasionally spun out of control, including a fatal Astroworld Festival show in 2021 that left 10 people dead.
The incident early Thursday began when Scott was on a charter boat and was involved in a disturbance/dispute with the crew, police said. Officers were called to the marina, and he was asked to leave. Scott left and came back a second time and again got into a dispute with the crew and was asked to leave again, and after he refused, he was arrested, police said.
The arrest affidavit offers some further details of the incident. According to the affidavit, police were called to the dock to respond to a report of people fighting on a yacht. Officers observed Scott yelling at the occupants, and officers could “sense a strong smell of alcohol” on his breath, the affidavit states.
There was no physical altercation, a source close to Scott told CNN.
Scott was told to leave or face arrest, and he then went to a vehicle and left the marina. He returned about five minutes later, disregarded officers’ commands not to go toward the yacht, and “began yelling once again, becoming erratic disturbing the peace,” and was taken into custody, the affidavit states.
“The defendant later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and stated, “‘It’s Miami,’” according to the affidavit.
The affidavit further notes that 10 officers used body-worn cameras.
Scott had the most musical success with his 2018 album “Astroworld” and the No. 1 hit single “Sicko Mode” featuring Drake, which sampled from a remarkable array of sources. The album was nominated for a Grammy for best rap album, and “Sicko Mode” was nominated for best rap song and best rap performance.
Last year, he released “UTOPIA,” which was nominated for best rap album, his 10th Grammy nomination
In November 2021, Scott’s Astroworld Festival show turned into a mass casualty event, as 10 people were killed and 300 were injured during his set in Houston as a crowd of about 50,000 surged toward the stage. Scott was not charged with wrongdoing in connection with the crowd crush. He and other organizers faced 10 wrongful death lawsuits and had settled all of them as of last month, according to CNN affiliate KHOU.
Scott has been arrested at least twice over incidents at his concerts. The first was during a 2015 Lollapalooza performance, when police said Scott told attendees to climb over security barricades, according to CNN affiliate WLS. He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless conduct and was sentenced to one year of court supervision, the Chicago Tribune reported
In addition, in 2017 after a show in Rogers, Arkansas, he was charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a minor. Police said Scott “encouraged people to rush the stage and bypass the security protocols,” which resulted in injuries. Two of the charges were dismissed in 2018, but Scott pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and paid over $6,800 to two people who said they were injured at his show, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.
He shares two children with Kylie Jenner, the beauty mogul and the youngest sibling of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
