#RHOA: Clock It In Couture: Judith Leiber Sends Drew Sidora A Designer Bag After ‘RHOA’ Reunion Drama
When the shade gets messy on Real Housewives of Atlanta, the best clapbacks don’t always come in words; sometimes they come in couture. After Shamea Morton accused Drew Sidora of carrying a fake Judith Leiber clutch during the season 16 reunion, Drew didn’t cause a huge scene. She didn’t pull out a book of receipts.

Instead, she let the designer do the talking. And the message was crystal clear.
So, What Exactly Happened Between Drew Sidora, Shamea, And The Designer Bag?
During the July 13 RHOA reunion, Shamea claimed that Drew lies—and the source of one of her lies, according to the rookie housewife, was fashion. Shamea accused Drew of rocking a fake Judith Leiber bag on the show.

Instead, Shamea insisted that Drew carried a dupe from fast-fashion retailer, Akira. Drew denied it, later reportedly hopping on IG Stories with proof of purchase.
But whether the original bag was real or not no longer matters.

Judith Leiber herself just delivered the ultimate clapback: a hand-encrusted, ethnic-inspired skull minaudière worth thousands. In an unboxing video, Drew smiled, thanked the designer, and shut down the chatter with the kind of couture clapback that only a Housewife could pull off. Clock it.

And in true housewives fashion, Drew leaned into the drama and staged a whole editorial moment to match. The photos weren’t just about showing off her new arm candy; they were about proving a point.
She wore a black double-breasted blazer mini dress completely drenched in rhinestones. The oversized clustered gems and tiny pavé details caught the light with every move, a perfect partner to her new crystal skull clutch. Her glam was just as on theme: rhinestones scattered across her eyelids and dramatic makeup.

It’s giving couture goth Barbie meets Atlanta glam—and we are here for it.
Of course, it makes sense that Drew would go all out. Judith Leiber Couture isn’t just any label. The brand has been a red carpet staple for decades, beloved for its crystal-covered novelty clutches that double as conversation pieces.
From martini glasses to McDonald’s French fry boxes, lipstick tubes to New York Yankees fitted caps, Leiber’s creations are wearable art made for women who want to stand out. They aren’t for the faint of heart—they’re for the bold. And that makes Drew a perfect fit.

#NewMusic from Kem Releases New Song “Rock With Me’

R&B balladeer Kem keeps the romance burning in his new single “Rock With Me,” out now.
“We live in a strange world till the darkness falls forever / Baby, let’s be the dawn / When it feels like it’s taking over me / You’re making me stronger,” he sings on the Rex Rideout production.

Listen HERE:

Speaking on “Rock With Me,” Kem shares, “This one’s for the day-ones. For the ones who’ve been rocking with me through every note, every chapter. ‘Rock With Me’ is a return to love and to the sound that built this connection between us.”
“Rock With Me” is the follow-up to “Give My Love,” released July 25. It marked his first single under his label Kemistry Records since parting ways with Motown Records after 20 years.
“Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision of requesting that the label I’ve loved and called ‘home’ for more than two decades, release me from my contract, and Motown graciously granted my request,” Kem said in a statement.

He continued, “I have now returned to my Kemistry Records label, where my musical journey and my first album, Kemistry, were born. My move back to Kemistry Records is a return to everything I love and cherish about the music-making process. I’m returning to my musical roots and to my independence as an artist, a songwriter, and an entrepreneur. Most importantly, I’m returning to the ability to musically reach out and touch my fans in a more meaningful way.”

#HipHopNews:Camp Flog Gnaw's 2025 Lineup Has A$AP Rocky, Doechii, GloRilla, And Plenty More
Camp Flog Gnaw 2025 will take place at Dodger Stadium on Nov. 15 and 16, with a sold-out presale and a $20 waitlist option.
The artist roster spans Hip-Hop, R&B, and alternative, with names like A$AP Rocky, Clipse, Tems, and Doechii.
Tyler, the Creator will likely perform music from his No. 1 album DON’T TAP THE GLASS just weeks after wrapping his world tour.

A$AP Rocky, Doechii, and GloRilla are all on the lineup for Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw 2025, which returns to Dodger Stadium on Nov. 15 and 16. Announced on Thursday (Aug. 21) evening via a crossword puzzle, it didn’t take long for fans to piece together the full lineup for the festival.

There’s plenty to look forward to when it comes to the show, including Clipse performing cuts from their comeback album Let God Sort Em Out and Childish Gambino returning to the stage despite “retiring” his moniker last year. Also on the bill are Earl Sweatshirt, Clairo, Teezo Touchdown, Tems, Sombr, Don Toliver, Fousheé, and Samara Cyn, among others.

For fans who missed the presale, Camp Flog Gnaw 2025 is already “completely sold out.” That said, festivalgoers can join a $20 waitlist for a possible chance at securing tickets. See the full lineup below.
Tyler, who will wrap up his "CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR" just weeks before the festival, is bringing his latest album, DON’T TAP THE GLASS, to the stage. The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in July despite its short-notice release. Since then, he’s followed it up with visuals for “Sugar On My Tongue” and “Darling, I.”

“I asked some friends why they don’t dance in public, and some said [it was] because of the fear of being filmed. I thought, ‘Damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost,’” Tyler said ahead of the LP. “It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time.”

Of course, Tyler isn’t the only one bringing something new to Camp Flog Gnaw. Earl Sweatshirt dropped Live Laugh Love on Friday (Aug. 22), while both Doechii and Rocky have highly anticipated projects on the way.
On top of that, Larry June, 2 Chainz, and The Alchemist will be giving attendees something special from their collaborative project, Life Is Beautiful. Rounding out the lineup are relative newcomers and acts like Ray Vaughn, Luh Tyler, Zack Fox, Paris Texas, AzChike, and Bb trickz.

Tyrone Blackburn Fires Back At T.D. Jakes With Class Action Threat Over Alleged Male Victims

Tyrone Blackburn says he’s preparing a class action lawsuit in federal court against T.D. Jakes, accusing the high-profile pastor of sexual abuse and trafficking involving multiple male accusers.
In a newly filed court document in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Blackburn alleges that Jakes and individuals connected to his ministry exploited vulnerable young men over several years.

The filing comes as part of Blackburn’s ongoing legal battle with Jakes, who previously sued Pastor Duane Youngblood for defamation after Youngblood publicly accused Jakes of grooming and abuse.
Blackburn’s latest filing defends himself against what he calls Jakes’ attorney Dustin Pusch’s “abusive litigation tactics” and signals a broader legal offensive.

He claims he will represent a group of male survivors in a sweeping class action case. The attorney says several men have already submitted affidavits describing sexual misconduct and grooming, including being transported across state lines in violation of the federal Mann Act.
He also names Cora Jakes, Jakes’ daughter, in the filing, alleging she engaged in manipulative behavior related to child custody and abuse.
Blackburn argues that the legal attacks against him—including bar complaints and threats of sanctions—are an effort to prevent him from representing survivors. He insists he won’t be intimidated.

The legal feud began when Jakes filed a defamation suit against Youngblood, who had accused the pastor of trying to initiate sexual contact with him during a church trip in the 1980s. Youngblood’s brother, Richard Edwin Youngblood, also alleged that Jakes made inappropriate advances.
Jakes has denied all accusations, calling them fabrications meant to extort money. His legal team claims Youngblood asked for $6 million to settle the matter privately.
They argue that Youngblood’s legal filings included fake case law and contradictions.

Blackburn represented Youngblood in that case but was removed after submitting documents filled with AI-generated errors.
Jakes’ lawyers now want Blackburn or his client to pay nearly $76,000 in legal fees for the time spent correcting those mistakes.
Blackburn admitted to using faulty AI tools but says the penalty could destroy his law practice. He asked the judge for leniency, suggesting further education as a more appropriate punishment.

Despite the sanctions hearing, Blackburn says the original defamation case has only amplified the voices of other alleged victims.
He named Richard Brandon Coleman, Jakes’ former son-in-law, as one of the accusers. Blackburn says the class action suit is moving forward despite the legal pressure from Jakes’ team.
The sanctions hearing over Blackburn’s filings occurred earlier this year, and a ruling on the $76,000 reimbursement request is still pending.

Naomi Osaka Reveals She Expected to Retire from Tennis After Giving Birth to Her Daughter
Naomi Osaka's tennis career didn't end after giving birth — it was renewed.
The four-time Grand Slam champion opened up to PEOPLE about the unexpected, motivated mindset she had after her first-time pregnancy that changed her perspective on the sport she's played since she was three years old.

"I was one of those people that thought when I had a kid I would stop playing tennis," Osaka, 27, tells PEOPLE exclusively at Tubi's private screening of The Second Set at The Roxy Cinema in New York City on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
In the documentary, the life of the tennis pro is intimately chronicled following the birth of her first child, daughter Shai, whom she welcomed with her ex boyfriend Cordae in July 2023. The film shows the intricate balance between Osaka's return to the court while also navigating motherhood.

Rather than retire like she initially had in mind upon welcoming her daughter into the world, Osaka had different plans — and enhanced goals — in mind.
"While I was pregnant, I was kind of very inspired," she shares. "I also wanted my daughter to be able to see me play tennis. It was such a big part of my life and I feel like she doesn't know it, but she definitely inspired me to continue."
One week after she went into labor, Osaka returned to training. Despite the chatter and negativity that surrounded her decision to jump back into the mental and physical intensity that comes with preparing her body to perform at the top level, she was determined.

"I feel like in the back of my head, I was a little stressed, of course, because I really desperately wanted to play and I felt like I had to do whatever it took," she thinks back. "And that's kind of my, I guess, stubbornness."
"But also I've been training since I was a really young kid, so it didn't feel that extreme to me," continues the Japan native. "I feel like I'm going to look back on it and think it's a little crazy — but in that moment, it didn't seem as wild as it does now."

The physical component of her career includes more than just the training — the travel over the course of the lengthy season is often just as taxing, along with the time spent away from her newborn. Life on the WTA Tour includes tournaments in over 20 countries across five continents, including the four Grand Slams — the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. She won the US Open in 2018 and 2019, and the Australian Open in 2019 and 2012.

The Second Set pulls the curtain back on the emotional toll her separation from Shai took on the new mom, but also highlighted the solid support system — her own mom, Tamaki Osaka, included — that she has around her.

While FaceTime calls and in-person meetups to spend quality time with her little one throughout the season got her though, Osaka tells PEOPLE that her support system spanned beyond her inner circle.
"Who's been especially helpful? Honestly, I would say other moms," she shares. "I think when I became a mom, I realized how many moms I knew and how they were so quick to reach out and offer advice and help."

Tubi's documentary, directed by Kat Jayme, was penned as a "love letter" to Osaka's daughter, but also a love letter to other moms, too. At it's core, the film dials in on the tennis pro's "new adventure," rather than a "comeback" to the sport.
Today, Osaka is in a new era — both professionally and personally — with a new perspective on the game.
"For me, what feels most different is my relationship with tennis and also my emotions going into it," she says. "I think when I was younger, I'd put so much pressure on myself, and now I kind of see it as a joy and a privilege to play."

"And also, I don't know, you never know when I guess your time is up and not in a negative way, but I'm really grateful to be healthy, to be able to swing a tennis racket," she adds.
Now, Osaka looks ahead to her US Open return when the tournament kicks off in N.Y.C. on Aug. 24, and she teases the possibility that Shai will make her debut appearance to cheer her mom on at a match this year.
"For me, it would be a very full-circle moment," she says of having her daughter in the arena where she won two of her four Grand Slams. "It would definitely mean a lot... I wouldn't see her while I'm playing, but I would feel her energy."

Osaka adds, "I hope that I wouldn't cry on court."
Naomi Osaka: The Second Set releases on Tubi on Sunday, Aug. 24.

John Amos’ Estate Battle Erupts Into Legal War Between Daughter and Son of Late Icon

A dispute over the estate of John Amos has turned to court, with the actor’s daughter suing her brother and people in his orbit for elder abuse, fraud and wrongful death.
Shannon Amos accuses Kelly Christopher Amos of manipulating their father into signing various legal documents — including new wills, trusts and powers of attorney — that gave him near-complete control over the estate while ignoring the actor’s medical needs.

The petition also names John Amos’ former caretaker Belinda Foster, close associate Eugene Brummett and his production banner Step and One Half Productions. It seeks a court order to freeze the estate’s assets.
John Amos died last year in Los Angeles of natural causes. The passing was announced by K.C. Amos, who said that his father was a “man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold.”

The filing of the legal action follows a 2023 report from The Hollywood Reporter documenting an acrimonious battle between the children of the Good Times legend over his care and finances.
The lawsuit chronicles the last years of John Amos’ life. Around 2019, K.C. Amos started to keep his father from family and friends by shuffling him around various locations while monitoring his communications, at times impersonating him in text messages and emails, the petition alleges.
“This calculated and cruel isolation was explicitly designed to render John Amos entirely dependent on K.C. Amos for all of his personal, financial, and critical medical decisions,” states the filing, which notes that Foster and Brummett “knowingly participated” in the scheme. “For instance, K.C. Amos falsely and maliciously accused numerous trusted individuals, such as dedicated caregivers and loving family members, of theft or abuse in order to justify his isolation.”

On multiple occasions, John Amos was left alone in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, according to the petition. In an affidavit, Leslie Franklin, a longtime friend, said the actor was kept in hotels surrounded by numerous bags of soiled adult diapers and trash. Shannon Amos was allegedly told by her father’s doctors that his medications weren’t being properly administered. In 2023, he was treated for an infection in his feet caused by maggots — one of numerous hospitalizations that year, prompting a call from Adult Protective Services over his care, the filing says.

Shannon Amos claims that her father, whose mental capacity was rapidly declining, was tricked into signing new wills and trusts that benefited K.C. Amos at her expense. Neither she nor the other beneficiaries of his will are receiving any money from the estate, says the petition, filed in California state court last month. In 2020, K.C. Amos filed documents reflecting his sole ownership of Step and One Half Productions, giving him control of money that flows through the company.

The petition faults K.C. Amos for his father’s death. In August 2024, the actor was experiencing severe abdominal pain, but Foster, who told doctors she was his daughter, didn’t take him to a hospital until it was too late, the filing says.
“What K.C. Amos, Belinda Foster, and Eugene Brummett did in the last years of my father’s life is unfathomable, cruel, and beyond my comprehension,” said Shannon Amos in a statement.
The petition includes affidavits from John Amos’ former business managers and close friends, all of whom account alleged efforts by K.C. Amos to isolate his father from others to gain control over his father’s finances.

The City of Boston to honor New Edition With “New Edition Day”
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has announced a series of events honoring New Edition, the legendary Boston-based R&B group founded in Roxbury in 1978, on Saturday, August 30th. In recognition of the group’s profound impact in Boston and the music industry, Mayor Wu and the City of Boston will host various events to celebrate the group’s contributions and legacy, including a street naming ceremony and a community block party in Roxbury. In addition to these events, Mayor Wu will declare August 30th as New Edition Day in the City of Boston. These events will honor the critical contributions of New Edition and create opportunities for residents and families to build community across Boston neighborhoods.

“It is an honor to welcome home Roxbury natives New Edition to celebrate their global impact, from our communities here in Boston to the music industry worldwide,” Mayor Wu says. “Thank you to all of our City teams for their work in putting on this vibrant series of events that will bring community members together in recognition of our local, homegrown group. This is a unique opportunity to bring Boston’s neighborhoods together in a celebration of culture, pride and community and I encourage every community member to join us to celebrate New Edition’s tremendous impact.”

Founded in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Orchard Park Projects in 1978, New Edition has had a profound impact on the Boston community and the music industry as a whole, paving the way for pop and R&B stars worldwide. For 40-plus years, members Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, and Johnny Gill have garnered immeasurable success touring the world both individually and as a collective group. In 2017, this multi-platinum-selling supergroup was honored with a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star unveiling ceremony coincided with the premiere of the group’s three-part miniseries The New Edition Story, which aired on BET, setting a network record with more than 29 million unique viewers. In 2022, New Edition was inducted into the Black Music Hall of Fame and in 2023, the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame. Throughout New Edition’s countless achievements, their most “coveted” accomplishment has been, and continues to be, the love and support they receive from their loyal and dedicated fans. Affectionately known as #NE4LIFERS, Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Michael, Ralph and Johnny are equally as dedicated to them, for without them New Edition would not and could not exist.

“I am truly grateful for the privilege of being made a permanent fixture in our city that has played such a significant role in shaping our lives and career,” adds Bell. “It brings me immense joy to think that future generations of my family, friends, and #NE4Lifers from all over the world will be able to walk and drive down New Edition Way. This honor is mind-blowing in the most awesome way. 02119 IS and WILL always be my home.”

“Boston is where it all began for us. This honor means the world to me,” shares Brown.
On Saturday, August 30th, the City of Boston will host a street naming ceremony and community block party. Mayor Wu will designate Dearborn Street as New Edition Way and declare August 30th as New Edition Day in the City of Boston. The street naming ceremony will take place at the corner of Ambrose Street and Albany Street in Roxbury, honoring the group at Orchard Gardens, formerly known as Orchard Park, where the founding members of New Edition grew up. Immediately after the street renaming ceremony, the city will host a community block party in front of the Orchard Gardens Boys & Girls Club, featuring music, a backpack giveaway for youth, free food, fun activities, and a special appearance by New Edition.

Mariah Carey To Receive Video Vanguard Award & Perform At 2025 MTV VMAS

Carey, who famously doesn't believe in the construct of age, will be the oldest recipient of the award to date.
Carey, who famously doesn’t believe in the construct of age – but who is 56 for those of us who do – will become the oldest recipient of the award to date, surpassing Richard Lester, director of The Beatles‘ films A Hard Day’s Night and Help!. Lester was 52 when he received the award on the inaugural VMAs in 1984. (In a way, it’s more impressive that Carey is receiving the award 35 years into her career than if she had gotten it when she was in her first flush of stardom. It’s a real achievement for Carey to have sustained her star power for so many years.)

It should also be noted that the recipients of the Video Vanguard Award have been moving up in age in recent years. Jennifer Lopez, Missy Elliott and Shakira were all past 45 when they received the honor.
Carey will be the eighth consecutive recipient of the award who is a woman, following Rihanna (2016), Pink (2017), Lopez (2018), Elliott (2019), Nicki Minaj (2022), Shakira (2023) and Katy Perry (2024). (The award wasn’t presented in the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021.)

Carey will return to the VMAs stage for the first time in 20 years. In 2005, she performed two smash hits – “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off” – in a segment that also featured Jadakiss and Jermaine Dupri.
Carey presented the Vanguard Award to LL COOL J in 1997. Coincidentally, the rapper and actor is hosting this year’s VMAs, which will air from UBS Arena in New York.
Carey made her VMAs debut in 1991 with a performance of “Emotions.” In 1998, Carey and Whitney Houston opened the show in an iconic pop culture moment when the two “accidentally” wore the same dress. They then presented the first award of the night – best male video to Will Smith for “Just the Two of Us.”

MTV’s press release announcing the award refers to it as the Video Vanguard Award twice and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award once. Carey and Jackson were both signed to Sony Music labels throughout the 1990s.
Carey has amassed 19 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, from “Vision of Love” in June 1990 to “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which logged its most recent appearance at No. 1 in January 2025. That’s more No. 1 hits than any other solo artist and is just one shy of the all-time record held by The Beatles. Impressively, she co-wrote 18 of those songs.

Carey was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2022. She has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in each of the last two years, but has yet to receive that accolade. Such contemporaries as Houston, Janet Jackson and George Michael, who likewise weren’t rock & roll in the traditional sense, have been admitted into the Hall, so Carey is likely to make it too eventually.
Carey has had six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, from Mariah Carey in March 1991 to E=MC2 in May 2008. She has won five Grammys, including vocal performance honors in both pop and R&B.
Carey’s 16th studio album Here for It All is set for release on Sept. 26. It includes her single “Type Dangerous,” which is nominated for a VMA for best R&B this year. If she wins, it will (amazingly) be her first VMA won in competition.

In his annual forecast of who might get this year’s Video Vanguard award, Billboard’s Andrew Unterberger pegged Carey as this year’s third-likeliest recipient (behind his top pick Miley Cyrus and runner-up pick Ed Sheeran). Unterberger wasn’t working from a finite list of nominees. Theoretically anyone could receive the honor, making it impressive that he came so close.
Said Unterberger about Carey’s chances: “Has Mariah Carey really never won the Video Vanguard award? Forget that: Mariah Carey has still never won a single Video Music Award, getting shut out to date in eight career nominations stretching back to 1996. She’s up for a ninth in September, with ‘Type Dangerous’ nominated for best R&B video, but MTV could really make this wrong right by giving Mimi the Video Vanguard for her decades-spanning career as a music video superstar. She’d be on the veteran side for the award at this point, but that didn’t stop MTV from honoring Shakira two years ago, so perhaps there’s still a chance for MC after all — and given the release of new album Here for It All later this September, now would be the time.”

Sabrina Carpenter is set to perform on the VMAs for the second year in a row. Alex Warren, Busta Rhymes, J Balvin featuring DJ Snake, Ricky Martin and sombr are also set to perform.
Busta will receive the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award, presented by host LL COOL J (who had a hit in 1986 titled “Rock the Bells”). Martin will be honored with the inaugural Latin Icon Award.

Lady Gaga leads the nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards with 12 nods, followed closely by her “Die With a Smile” duet partner Bruno Mars, who has 11 nods. Other top contenders are Kendrick Lamar (10), ROSÉ and Carpenter (eight each), Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (seven each) and Billie Eilish (six).
This will mark the first time the show has been broadcast by CBS. It will also simulcast on MTV and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.

The 2025 MTV VMAs are executive produced by Bruce Gillmer, Den of Thieves co-founder Jesse Ignjatovic, and Barb Bialkowski. Gunpowder & Sky CEO Van Toffler is producer. Alicia Portugal is co-executive producer.

Cracker Barrel Responds to Backlash Over Logo Change
Cracker Barrel has responded to backlash over its logo change."Our values haven't changed," the restaurant told Newsweek in a statement shared over email. "The heart and soul of Cracker Barrel haven't changed."
Logo changes, branding and advertising choices have become hot-button issues for companies in recent years, as they often go on to signal the onset of online culture wars.

The Southern country-themed restaurant chain, which was founded in 1969, recently changed its logo for the first time in 48 years. When the restaurant first opened, it had a text-only logo. The restaurant's name originates from a time in the 19th century when people would socialize around a barrel full of crackers in a country store.

The logo was updated in 1977 to the one that many recognize today, with a man resting by a barrel. The restaurant said in a press release that the new logo is "[r]ooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and wordmark that started it all."
Backlash to the recent move, which comes as part of a $700 million rebrand, was swift, with criticism from conservative figures online being loudly directed at the brand. On the other side of the coin, many took to social media to ridicule the backlash.

One social media user wrote online, "Why would they remove the cracker & the barrel?", in a post that has been viewed 16 million times as of reporting.
Collin Rugg, co-owner of the Trending Politics website, described the logo as "depressing," in a post viewed on X over 9 million times, while Byron Donalds, a Republican representative for Florida, wrote on X in a post viewed over 3 million times, "No one asked for this woke rebrand. It's time to Make Cracker Barrel Great Again."

Cracker Barrel's statement continued, "Uncle Herschel remains front and center in our restaurants and on our menu. He is the face of 'The Herschel Way,' the foundation of how our 70,000 plus employees provide the country hospitality for which we are known."
While many were outraged about the rebrand, others took to social media to ridicule the backlash. This list includes the official press office for California Governor Gavin Newsom, who wrote in a post on X, mimicking the style of President Donald Trump, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH CRACKER BARREL?? KEEP YOUR BEAUTIFUL LOGO!!! THE NEW ONE LOOKS LIKE CHEAP VELVEETA "CHEESE" FROM WALMART, THE PLACE FOR "GROCERIES" (AN OLD FASHIONED TERM)!!! "FIX IT" ASAP! WOKE IS DEAD!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. — GCN."

Regina King Opens Up About How Son’s Death Changed Her Perspective On Life

Regina King is opening up about how the death of her son Ian has transformed her perspective on life. The acclaimed actress says the event has led her to be more present and even inspired a meaningful entrepreneurial venture.

In her new Haute Living cover story, the Shirely actress said, “I think in life, it’s harder and harder to have those meaningful moments. And that’s why, when I have them now, they feel even more special. We have them less and less as time goes on, and we have to work harder to have them.” When speaking about how she lives differently now while carrying grief, she said, “I one thousand percent live in the moment more. I don’t know if that’s something that just comes with time, or with pain, or with the pandemic — probably all of it. But I feel it.”

Her son Ian died by suicide in January 2022 at the age of 26. He was her only child and she shared him with her ex-husband, Ian Alexander Sr..
The Oscar-winning actress is focused on keeping her son’s memory alive in her life, most recently in the form of an orange wine. Her newly launched brand is named MianU — short for “me and you” — and was inspired by the wine Ian introduced her to.

“It was kind of an epiphany I had that came from a place of continuing to create memories in Ian’s spirit. I’m still here, on this plane, separate from him, and I’m surrounded by people talking about their children — engagements, weddings, new chapters — [while mine is gone],” she told the outlet. “I still love talking about Ian: I just don’t have the chance to create new memories in the way they do. But I’m not focused on that. This is my way of creating something new, together.”

The wine is deeply meaningful to her because it reminds her of her son constantly, with each and every moment. “Every time a cork opens, or every time I’m pouring a glass, I’m thinking of Ian. I’m thinking of him 24/7 anyway, but always in this moment, I can see his face. And for people who never got the chance to dance with Ian, maybe they’ll be curious. Maybe they’ll ask. His name is right there, in the middle of it all. He’ll never be forgotten… If you see me, you see Ian,” she said.
Another way the Boondocks talent also aims to keep her son with her at all times is by intentionally speaking “about him in the present, because he’s always with me,” and remembering “the joy and happiness that he gave all of us.”

Serena Williams Opens Up About How She Lost 31 Pounds: “It Actually Worked”
Serena Williams is opening up about her health journey and hopes to do her part in alleviating the stigma around using weight loss medications. The GOAT tennis player spoke about her 31-pound transformation and detailed how embracing GLP-1’s is exactly the solution she needed, especially after having children and exhausting her other options.

“I felt it was important for me to come out and say it,” she began during her TODAY Show interview, emphasizing the shame that may come from people who opt for GLP-1’s. “Is it a lazy way? Is it a shortcut?” The Grand Slam champ shared that after having her two daughters, she wasn’t able to “be at a healthy” weight due to her joints, blood sugar levels, age, and other factors no matter what she did. She felt her body was missing something and learned many other women related.

“As an athlete and as someone that has done everything, I just couldn’t get my weight to where I needed to be at a healthy place, and believe me I don’t take shortcuts. I do everything but shortcuts,” Williams said.
Despite playing professional tennis and “literally training five hours a day,” she considered GLP-1’s but was extremely skeptical, initially even saying “don’t sign me up.”

“I literally was playing a professional sport, and I could never go back to where I needed to be for my health, for my healthy weight, no matter what I did,” she said. “I would always lose a lot of weight, and then I would stay. No matter what I did, I couldn’t go lower than that one number.”

There were other health considerations too besides just weight loss; diabetes runs in her family and she also was struggling with pressure on her knees post-partum.
Finally, she changed her mindset and “looked at it as a sport.” She started viewing weight loss as her “opponent.” “I can’t beat this opponent no matter what I do, I have to try something different… I tried it, and it actually worked,” she said.
Williams is the latest celebrity to open up about their use of weight loss medications. Fat Joe, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Charles Barkley, and plenty more have publicly co-signed GLP-1’s and how they have changed their lives, with Fat Joe even gushing that it’s the “greatest invention ever.”

Earlier this week, the mother of two launched a campaign with Ro, a company that prescribes GLP-1 medications through telehealth.

Comedian Reggie Carroll Tragically Killed In Memphis While Touring With Katt Williams

The comedy world is mourning the sudden loss of Reggie Carroll, a rising star known for his raw humor, Southern charm, and electrifying stage presence. Carroll was tragically killed last night in Memphis, Tennessee, while on tour with fellow comedian Katt Williams, according to early reports from local sources.

Reggie Carroll, often dubbed “The Knockout King of Comedy,” had built a loyal following through his stand-up performances, viral sketches, and appearances at his own venue, Reggie Carroll’s Comedy Club. Born and raised in Baltimore, Carroll was known for blending streetwise storytelling with sharp punchlines, often drawing from his own life and the culture of the South.

His comedic style was bold, unfiltered, and deeply rooted in the Black experience—earning him spots on national tours and collaborations with comedy heavyweights like Katt Williams.
Details surrounding Carroll’s death are still emerging, but sources indicate the incident occurred late Wednesday night while the tour was technically on a tour stop in Memphis. Authorities have not yet released an official statement, and it’s unclear whether the shooting was targeted or random. The Memphis Police Department is currently investigating.

Carroll’s death adds to a troubling rise in violence in the city, which has already seen over 100 homicides this year.
Fans, fellow comedians, and industry insiders have taken to social media to express their shock and sorrow. Many described Carroll as a “comedy warrior” and “a hometown hero who never forgot where he came from.” His longtime friend and tourmate Katt Williams has yet to make a public statement, but insiders say the tour has been paused indefinitely.

Reggie Carroll’s legacy will live on through the laughter he brought to stages across the country and the community he built in Memphis. His untimely death is a devastating blow to the comedy scene, but his voice, humor, and spirit will continue to echo through those he inspired.
According to more sources, including several news outlets, Carroll was taken to the hospital in Memphis, where he later died. It seems Carroll was shot in Southhaven, Mississippi, and taken to the hospital in Memphis, which was 14 minutes away.

The Katt Williams Tour that Carroll was on was on hiatus during this time. One of Carroll’s career highlights was that he was on this tour.

Lyle Menendez Also Denied Parole, 1 Day After Brother Erik Menendez Gets Turned Down By Board
Lyle Menendez is being denied parole. The now 57-year-old has been serving time in prison for the murder of his parents, along with brother Erik Menendez, in San Diego, Calif.
On Thursday (August 21), Erik virtually attended a parole hearing where he was denied parole and release. The next day, Lyle attended his own hearing, where he was also denied, after serving 36 years of their sentence so far.

While the parole commissioner commended Lyle on his behavior in prison, including “lack of violence, his work on programs and his positive relationships with other inmates and staff,” per ABC, he was ultimately denied.
The panel found that there are “still signs” that he poses a risk to the public.
“You have been a model inmate in many ways who has demonstrated the potential for change,” parole commissioner Julie Garland said in the parole hearing. “But despite all those outward positives, we see … you still struggle with anti-social personality traits like deception, minimization and rule-breaking that lie beneath that positive surface.”

The commissioner also told Lyle to stay hopeful and to be the person he shows other inmates he runs programs for.
Lyle is not eligible for parole again for another three years, but he will be considered for an administrative review within a year, which could bump up his next hearing to as soon as 18 months.

“The process for parole is exceptionally rigorous, but we are incredibly proud of how Erik and Lyle showed up — with honesty, accountability, and integrity,” the Mendendez brothers’ family said in a statement. “We know they will take time to reflect on the Board’s recommendations and will continue to lead, mentor, and build programs that support rehabilitation and hope for others. We know they are good men who have done the work to rehabilitate and are remorseful. We love them unconditionally and will continue to stand by them.”

Late last year, Lyle‘s wife Rebecca announced their divorce and denied cheating rumors

Viral Burger King Worker Fired After Struggling Solo to Support Family
*Nykia Hamilton, a 25-year-old mother of three who gained widespread attention for single-handedly managing a busy Columbia, South Carolina, Burger King, has been fired.
A TikTok video showed her juggling cooking, cleaning, and serving customers alone. On August 8, Hamilton shared her emotional reaction to the termination, stating, “My kids come first. Y’all don’t pay for no babysitter, or nothing. My mind is already f***ed up. I’m trying to keep pushing for my kids, but I cannot do this s*** no more. The devil been on my back bad.”

A Burger King spokesperson addressed the situation, telling The Independent, “No Team Member should ever be left to run a restaurant alone, even for a short period of time. That’s not how we operate, and we’re disappointed that our policy, which requires more than one Team Member to work per shift, wasn’t followed.”

The spokesperson noted that terminations are decided by franchisees, adding, “In this situation, the franchisee confirmed that the individual involved is no longer employed due to repeated attendance issues.” They emphasized their commitment to proper staffing and guest experience but declined to discuss personnel details further.
Hamilton, who started a GoFundMe that has raised over $96,000, expressed gratitude, writing, “Thank yall so much for the support I didn’t expect turn out but I promise I won’t let yall stay tune for videos dropping soon.”

In an interview with WACH, she described the toll of her 12-hour solo shifts, saying, “I be missing out on my kids’ lives and I work a lot. I have to provide for them, but I really don’t have time to spend with them—and it hurts me a lot.”
She recounted a day when a co-worker quit, leaving her to handle everything: “One of my employees just quit on me, and they didn’t have anyone else to come in, so I had to work by myself, and close by myself. Had to do the dishes, do prep, do the floor, do the front counter, drive-thru.”

Despite the challenges, Hamilton appreciated her manager’s support, noting, “I wouldn’t have no job because I do have a record, and it is hard to find a job with a record. And by grace of God, she gave me a job. So that’s the only reason why I stayed for her.”

Trump administration plans to deport newly freed Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda

Newly filed court documents are raising serious questions about how the U S government is handling the immigration case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
According to the filing, federal agencies pressured Abrego to take a guilty plea in exchange for deportation to Costa Rica, warning him that if he did not accept the deal by Monday morning, the only other option would be deportation to Uganda. His legal team says Uganda is a place where his safety and liberty would be at serious risk.

His attorneys argue this is not just aggressive prosecution. They believe it is retaliation. Abrego has already fought against being illegally deported to El Salvador, and now DOJ, DHS, and ICE are accused of teaming up to punish him for exercising his rights under the Bail Reform Act and the Fifth Amendment.
Legal experts cited in the filing argue that the government cannot punish someone simply for using their rights, calling it unconstitutional and a violation of due process. The document also highlights what it calls coercive coordination between DOJ and DHS, accusing the agencies of working together in a way that forces impossible choices on defendants.

For now, Abrego’s lawyers are considering filing an emergency motion to stop his removal or to sanction prosecutors for misconduct. The outcome of this battle could set a precedent for how far the government can go in using immigration consequences during criminal proceedings.
