#RHOP: Ashley Darby Spills on Paying Bloggers, Her 10-Year Grudge, and the Shower Breakdown That Changed Everything
If “Bravo tea” had food groups, Ashley Darby just covered all of them in one sit-down. Rumors, receipts, grudges that age like wine, and the kind of motherhood honesty that makes you pause your scroll.

On Scheananigans, host Scheana Shay and co-host Krystina Arielle bring in the reality TV veteran ahead of the The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 reunion kickoff (scheduled to start February 15). Darby’s been on the show since Season 1, and she comes in with the rare combo: totally game for the mess, but also very clear on what it costs.

Below are highlights adapted from the episode.

When you rewatch early ‘RHOP,’ what’s the most humbling thing you notice about yourself?

“I’ve learned that I’m a bit of a hothead, and I didn’t used to think that. I always thought I was calm, cool, and collected. Like, you know, I thought I was the peacekeeper. Yeah, no.”

Okay—who’s got the bloggers on speed dial (or payroll)?

“Well, we’ve had people actually pay bloggers. We’ve had people who had bloggers on the payroll. There was a rumor that it was Stacy when she first came on, that she was colluding with bloggers. There may have been some proof of that. So I would say Stacy…We actually theorized that Karen for a minute was doing it, and Karen would get so hot. ‘I would never. I would never.’ But the signs were pointing to Karen at some point. You know, she likes to control the narrative.”

Phone-passcode trust is elite. Who actually gets that access?

“Well, obviously Giselle because she’s my friend, but I might also give it to Stacy. Stacy is like she’s capable of doing like a little code switch. Like, she knows when to go at it. She knows what’s off limits. And I like that about her.”

Be honest—was the Mauricio thing real, or just Bravo chaos doing the most?

“I’m not really interested in Mauricio, for the record. I think he’s a handsome man, but he’s never been on my radar. But he has been on Giselle’s radar, and she said it publicly in the past before. So, I mean, I always thought that she was going to carry the bag with that one. Now that they’re both single. We’re both in Aspen. So when she even said to me like, you know, ‘You’re being a hot mess,’ or whatever, I was really surprised because I really thought that she was. But then she told me later that because of some conversation chat with Kyle, she’s being more respectful, yada, yada, yada. But then she goes on the aftershow and says that she wants to go down with him horizontally…

…I actually think it was a little more sensational, you know? And he’s a handsome man, right? Like, he’s one of the most revered handsome husbands. And again, Giselle had said something about him publicly in the past on her podcast, so there had been some rumblings about her liking him. So that’s why I think it became more of a thing. And then me being single and, you know, just became a whole thing.”

So, what’s the real story with Shereese’s son, Jackson?

“Jackson and I did share an intimate moment, and he did initiate it. And part of the reason that I didn’t really think Shereese would mind is because Shereese had said so many times, ‘You should date my son.’ Like, right after I got separated, she was like, ‘Great. Come on. Come be my daughter-in-law.’ And she said it jokingly, and I always took it as a joke. And then that night, you know, I was like, well, Shereese did give her blessing…

…I told her in the moment on the show, and I was expecting her to have a reaction in the moment in the scene. I was prepared for whatever. If she was going to throw water in my face, flip the table, I mean, I was ready. I was prepared for that. But she laughed it off, and it was just a joke to her. And I said everything to her that I’ve said subsequently. I even said, ‘Oh, like, what if something more happened between me and Jackson than a kiss?’ And she laughed. So I just thought that was how she looked at the situation. But then to go and start trashing me and defaming me like, ‘Ma’am, where is this energy coming from when it’s not what you gave me in the moment?’ And to be fair, we also celebrated her birthday maybe like two months after we wrapped. So even if she had time to process it and let it marinate, I would hope that at least by then, if you were still in your feelings, you would have said something to me.”

Are you ready for Karen to come back to the show?

“Amen. Yes. I need Karen on a one-way ticket to Rojas Ozopotomic, please, because there are moments where I’m like, ‘Oh, a little Karenism would be so fun here.’ You know? Like, when we were in Colorado, Karen’s commentary would have been gold. And I do think too that Karen may have been a good usher for Angel because she does have this motherly energy. And unfortunately, Angel did lose her mom a few years ago, so, well, I think like when she was in college maybe. So I think maybe that dynamic could have been helpful to Angel. Like, that missing piece of the puzzle could have been good for her, but it just wasn’t the way it was supposed to be…And I miss sparring with her. Like, you know, there’s just nothing like her little shady reads.”

What actually happened with you and Adriana de Moura from ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ at Bravo Pond?

“We just had this little game that we played, like a shady game of who was the worst dressed on stage. And I didn’t like Adrianna’s dress. She was wearing what looked like aluminum foil. I didn’t like it. Like, it was just giving aluminum foil realness, and I was not here for it. So I said it, and I said it with my chest. She didn’t like that, and she got up, and she spun around and did this whole thing. And my issue with her actually goes back quite a ways because she doesn’t remember this, but I have the memory of an elephant. And she made this really shady comment on Twitter when we first debuted ‘Real Housewives of Potomac,’ and she made a comment something like, ‘Oh, you guys took us off the air for this.’ That was essentially what she said. And she, again, doesn’t remember it, but I know what I read. And remember what Maya Angelou said? It’s not what someone says. How it made you feel. I remember what she said and how it made me feel. So I’m carrying that. And now she’s like, ‘I would never say that, but you did.’ And we were so new, and we had just gotten into the platform, and I thought that was just really crass. So I’m carrying the grudge. It’s been 10 years, and I’m still carrying the grudge.”

After ‘Girls Trip,’ who did you have to clear the air with—immediately?

“I think there were a lot of things I had to address because quite a few of my fellow housewives have had strong opinions about me in relation to what’s been said about me and Jackson or whatever. So I needed to address that. And of course, yes, Kyle and I, we had to talk…We started in different parts of the room when we first started filming, and then we just slowly got closer and closer, and then it was like, ‘Hey, let’s get to the bottom of this.’ It was necessary.”

When did postpartum depression stop feeling like ‘a rough week’ and start feeling scary?

“I was taking a shower, and I just got so sad, and I busted out crying. And I was like, ‘I don’t really want to do this anymore.’ And what was really overpowering me was thinking about all the bad things in the world. I just started honing in on it. Like, ‘Oh, there are children who are dying. There are children who are being abused and molested.’ And all of that just flooded me, and I became so overwhelmed that I was like, ‘I don’t want to live.’ And I called my mom, and one thing my mother is good at is she will pull you off of any ledge. And she really reminded me of the good things in my life and just really reinforced the positive things that helped me shift my focus. So I was very thankful. She’s worked with alcohol and drug addicts. So she has a lot of experience with helping people to reshift their focus, and it was very helpful…

…And then I was also isolating a lot, which I know we do after we have our kids. I didn’t want to go outside. I didn’t want guests, no visitors. Like, it was just me and this little baby that I just oof, you know? And it took the show. It took a producer being like, ‘Hey, it’s time to get into production,’ and I was like, ‘I’m going to set this one out.’ And they were like, ‘Why? What are you thinking? What are you saying? Who are you? This is not the person we’ve known for at that point, like four or five seasons.’ And that reminder of who I used to be was what I needed, and it really pulled me out of that funk.”

What do you wish people understood about postpartum and mental health?

“That it doesn’t look the same. It’s not a uniform thing. So you know, my experience and the way that I communicated is not necessarily what everyone else feels, but it doesn’t minimize what they’re going through. And there may be varying degrees of how someone is dealing with postpartum, and you can’t discount them. Everyone needs to feel seen and just like given their space to heal without feeling like they’re doing something wrong or you’re not depressed enough. Like, ‘What?’ You know? It’s so crazy how there’s always like a one-up sort of thing, and it affects a lot of people.”

Do you ever struggle balancing ‘mom Ashley’ and ‘fun, flirty, going out Ashley?’

“Yes, babe. This has become so hard for me within the last couple of years, mainly because my kids are becoming so much more aware. Like, they know I’m on a show. They know I’m on ‘Real Housewives.’ They’ve never seen an episode, but they know I’m on TV, and they know I’m on ‘Real Housewives,’ and they know that people come up to us, and like they know us. So they’re like aware. So when I’m like out doing AshTOP, and I’ve got pasties on my boobs, and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh. Like, should I pull this back?’ So it’s like a thing that I’m still navigating, and I just got divorced last year officially. So I’m like, ‘I got to figure this out because yes, I’m fine. I’m a party girl and all that, but I’m also a mom.'”

Do you see your past business ventures as chapters of your past or seeds you might revisit?

“Definitely seeds I might revisit. I mean, hospitality is a beast. I know you know. Hospitality is a beast. So it was such a bad experience that I don’t even think I’m healed from that yet. The way it took a toll on my marriage, the way that I had to tell these people who were my employees like, ‘Hey, sorry. I can’t pay you because I have to close the restaurant and I’m taking away your livelihood.’ That was traumatic. That was such a traumatic thing. So it’s one of the reasons why I am not too gung-ho about starting more business, business, businesses because I’m just like, ‘Wow. What if it doesn’t work?’ And then all these people who’ve invested their time and energy, they don’t get what they deserve.”

When you think about what’s next for Ashley Darby, what excites you the most right now?

“The endless possibilities. Like, I feel pregnant with possibility in so many ways, and it’s like the world is my oyster. It’s so beautiful. I have my children’s book that I’m working on. I’m getting into real estate now because I’ve been very curious about that. It’s like all these little things that I’m dipping and dabbling in, and I’m like, ‘Man, I can.’ Like, ‘Why not?’ I’m ready to be so delusional. Like, I’m already very delusional. I want to be even more delusional.”

If you could warn Season 1 Ashley about one thing, what would it be?

“I always say trust the process because, you know, that’s all nice. But I might say I’m trying to think about times I’ve had like a gotcha moment. The biggest gotcha moment I had was when Candace told me that stuff about my ex-partner on camera. That was the biggest gotcha moment that I’ve had in the course of the show. I would tell Ashley, ‘Believe and listen to what is being told to you, and deal with it in the moment, but then go ahead and do your own due diligence.’ Because I would either like not believe anybody and be like, ‘You’re so full of sh*t,’ right? Or I would be believing them with my whole heart and soul. And so either way, you just can’t do either. You got to have a discerning eye, be open, listen, take it into consideration, but then you know, do your own anti-drew stuff too.”

What’s the side of you viewers barely get to see—but matters most to you?

“I would still just be how much I love not just my own children, but other children in the neighborhood. Like, people come to my house to play with my kids, and…I want the next generation to feel so supported and loved, and it means so much to me. It’s a part of my purpose, I think. And obviously, with privacy things, we can’t really show children…So I need to find a way, and I’m working on a way to highlight that and help it benefit other people within the confines that I have.”

#MusicNews: Leon Thomas, Durand Bernarr Spotify Streams Surge After Grammy Wins

R&B’s rising stars Leon Thomas and Durand Bernarr received a significant streaming boost following their wins at the 2026 Grammy Awards, according to Spotify.
Thomas’ “Mutt (Live From NPR’s Tiny Desk)” saw a staggering 1,630% increase on the platform. The song was nominated for Best R&B Performance, which was awarded to Kehlani’s “Folded.”

Still, that didn’t stop viewers from streaming his sophomore LP, MUTT, which won Best R&B Album. The album’s tracks “How Fast” and “Far Fetched,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, climbed by 160% and 130%, respectively.
Thomas was nominated in six categories at the 68th ceremony, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year. In addition to his Best R&B Album win, he earned a trophy for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Vibes Don’t Lie.”

“This is such a moment because this is a miracle of endurance. And I have to say right now, I have to thank God for this moment,” Thomas said in his acceptance speech for Best R&B Album.

Bernarr’s Grammy-winning BLOOM album (Best Progressive R&B Album) saw an immediate spike on Spotify. The album’s opening track, “Generous,” received a 1,195% increase in streams, while “Flounce,” featuring GAWD, rose 910%. “Overqualified,” nominated for Best R&B Song, jumped 570% on the streaming platform.
Bernarr was the second-most nominated artist in the R&B field with three nods, including Best Traditional R&B Performance, while Thomas led the pack with four nominations plus two in the general field.

Beyond Thomas and Bernarr, Luther Vandross received a boost in Spotify streams after Cher mistakenly announced him as the winner of Song of the Year before correcting herself. Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther,” which samples Vandross and Cheryl Lynn’s “If This Were World Were Mine,” was the actual winner. Still, the viral moment led to a 115% increase in streams for the original track.
According to Spotify, the spikes were measured by comparing Monday’s (Feb. 2) U.S. streams to the artists’ average daily performance prior to the Grammys, held on Feb. 1.

#HipHopNews: The latest in GloRilla's battle with her estranged family

The latest in GloRilla's battle with her estranged family originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The ongoing rift between GloRilla and members of her family resurfaced this week, with her sister publicly reiterating claims that the Memphis rapper, who is dating NBA star Brandon Ingram, has failed to support her relatives despite her financial success.

According to Complex, Victoria “Scar Face” Woods, one of GloRilla’s siblings, has taken to both social media and a recent televised interview to repeat allegations that the rapper has prioritized friends and public image over family needs. In her view, fame comes with responsibility — especially toward the people she says struggled alongside GloRilla before the music career took off.

“She got an obligation to share the wealth,” Woods said during an appearance on TMZ Live, arguing that the family endured poverty together and should not be excluded now. She added that while GloRilla appears generous online, the reality behind the scenes is different. According to Woods, the rapper is “doing nothing, nothing, nothing” for the family.

Among her most pointed claims is that GloRilla did not secure her parents’ retirement, despite public perception to the contrary. Woods said their father retired because “his time was up,” while their mother, she alleged, is still working at FedEx. “Don’t go on interviews talking about our struggle,” Woods said, accusing her sister of using family hardship for narrative value without providing consistent support.

Woods has also pushed back against the idea that her demands are excessive. When asked hypothetically how much she would expect from her sister if a significant amount of money were available, she suggested a modest amount. “I’m not asking for millions,” she said, adding that even a few thousand dollars per sibling would be meaningful.

The dispute first gained traction through a series of Facebook posts in which Woods claimed that GloRilla had cut off communication with some relatives, including their mother, and left others to cover rent and basic expenses. She also described difficult childhood conditions, including overcrowded housing and unreliable utilities, as context for her frustration.

After GloRilla appeared to respond indirectly by sharing screenshots that appeared to show appreciation from their mother, Woods questioned the authenticity of the messages, asking why the timestamps and phone numbers were not visible. “Where the time and date at?” she said, casting doubt on the exchange.

Seahawks smother Patriots in Super Bowl LX!
The Seattle Seahawks are once again Super Bowl champions, claiming the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since the 2013 season. Seattle dominated the New England Patriots from start to finish in Super Bowl LX, smothering the Pats all night en route to a 29-13 victory that wasn't nearly as close as the final score.

The Seahawks delivered one of the best defensive performances in Super Bowl history. The Patriots finished with 331 yards of offense, but more than a third came on two garbage-time drives that each covered over 100 yards with New England down multiple scores late in the fourth quarter. The so-called "Dark Side Defense" conjured images all night of the famed "Legion of Boom" unit that led Seattle to its last Super Bowl victory -- and by the end of the evening, it was hard to argue this group wasn't worthy of the comparison.

Seattle dominated both up front and on the back end, relentlessly pressuring Drake Maye, suffocating his receivers and giving neither Rhamondre Stevenson nor TreVeyon Henderson space in the run game. During the competitive portion of the game, the Seahawks' defensive line overwhelmed New England's offensive front, preventing the Patriots from moving the ball with any consistency.

The Seahawks racked up six sacks on Maye -- one shy of the Super Bowl record. Rylie Mills and Devon Witherspoon each had one, while Byron Murphy II and Derick Hall recorded two apiece. Hall's second takedown resulted in a strip sack, which Murphy recovered to set up the game's first touchdown on a pass from Sam Darnold to AJ Barner.

The defensive front also stifled the run game from the outset, as Stevenson and Henderson combined for 13 carries and just 42 yards (3.2 per attempt), with none gaining more than nine yards. They simply had nowhere to go -- and that's where they repeatedly ended up.
Not to be outdone, the back end played its part. Coverage remained tight all night, with the secondary limiting Maye to 6.9 yards per attempt and offsetting his two touchdown passes (one coming late in garbage time) with two interceptions.

One came courtesy of Julian Love as the Patriots tried to cut the lead to one score in the fourth quarter, while the other was a pick-six by Uchenna Nwosu that put the game away for good. The play was initially ruled a strip sack for Witherspoon and a scoop-and-score for Nwosu. Had it stood, Seattle would have tied the Super Bowl record for sacks. Alas.

Seattle's offense mostly revolved around the explosive running of Kenneth Walker III, who carried 27 times for 135 yards and added 26 more on two receptions. Walker ripped off several long runs to push the Seahawks into scoring territory early, though they repeatedly settled for field goals while building their lead. He appeared to add an exclamation-point touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but it was wiped out by a holding penalty. No matter -- he still delivered his best rushing performance of the season, posting his fourth 100-yard game of the year and second of the playoffs on his way to winning the game's Most Valuable Player award.

Darnold wasn't as efficient or explosive as he was in the NFC title game, completing 19 of 38 passes for 202 yards and a score. He missed a couple of deep shots that could have blown the game open, but his most important contribution was protecting the ball. After leading the league in turnovers during the regular season, Darnold went the entire playoffs without committing one. The Super Bowl win serves as a crowning achievement for the former No. 3 overall pick, cementing one of the league's best comeback stories.

Seattle now owns two Super Bowl victories, becoming the 17th franchise with at least two titles. This one felt far more unlikely than the first, as the Seahawks didn't enter the season among the favorites. The 2025 campaign taught us to expect the unexpected, and it's fitting it ended with a champion like Seattle -- a team that began the year with long odds to be here -- lifting the Lombardi Trophy.

Sherri Shepherd vows to ‘fight to keep show alive’ after cancelation: ‘I will continue to spread joy’
Sherri Shepherd has addressed the difficult news of the cancelation of her daytime talk show after four seasons.
The comedian, 58, who has hosted her eponymous series, Sherri, since 2022, took a moment during Monday’s segment to promise fans she would “continue to fight to keep the show alive in some way, shape or form.”

“This is a hard morning for all of us here at Sherri, and I know that you have seen the news and I’m ready to address it,” Shepherd said.
“Our show has not been renewed for another season,” she noted to sad groans from the studio audience. “I want to say to y’all, try not to faint or fall out because health care is expensive and none of us have it anymore,” she quipped.

“But I have to say, in thinking about it, I’m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love that I have received from all of you,” she continued. “From the audience to everybody on social media, to people who stopped me in the store and still talk to me despite me not having a wig on, they still talk to me. From the emails and the texts, the messages, I feel every bit of the love that you’ve been sending to me. And thank you so much.”

She added: “I want to thank you for laughing and crying with us. Thank you for supporting my unhealthy obsession with Lenny Kravitz.
“When I first started, the show was built on one thing, and what I wanted it built on was joy. The intention of this show was always my prayer for you to leave happier than when you came. It has been my dream to have a talk show, and I’m so grateful I got the chance to do it for four seasons.”

Shepherd further reminded viewers that her show wasn’t over just yet and would continue releasing new episodes through the fall. She also hinted at trying to find another place to pick up the show.
“I’m not ready to throw in the towel on this show just yet,” she said. “We’re going to be airing episodes all through the fall, and we’re going to continue to fight to keep the show alive in some way, shape or form. If anybody knows me, they know I’m a fighter. I am a fighter. Now I don’t know exactly what it’s going to look like, but I promise I will continue to spread joy.”

Sherri debuted in 2022 following the actor’s stint as guest host of The Wendy Williams Show. Shepherd was previously a full-time co-host on The View from 2007 to 2014.

News of the show’s cancelation broke last week, with Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, co-presidents of Debmar-Mercury, the Lionsgate-owned syndicated TV production company, explaining the “decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape.”
The decision “does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” the statement said. “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”

Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton Fuel Dating Rumors at Super Bowl 2026

Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton—who recently raised eyebrows by taking a flight to Paris together—were all smiles during their first public outing at the 2026 Super Bowl.
Kim Kardashian appears to be full speed ahead with Lewis Hamilton.
The reality star and racing driver—who sparked romance rumors earlier this month when took a plane together from the U.K. to Paris—have now made their public debut at the 2026 Super Bowl.

Kim, 45, and Lewis, 41, sat side-by-side at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., to watch the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots Feb. 8. While the F1 star kept it sleek in a black jacket, Kim looked all dressed up in a black furry coat, large blinged out choker necklace and oversized sunglasses.
The pair were seen chatting it up and smiling during their NFL outing, per footage shared on social media.

Lewis and Kim first appeared to cross paths over New Year's, when they were both seen at the same New Year's Eve Party in Aspen, Colo., but they weren't photographed together. They seemed to get even closer on Feb. 2 when they took a private plane to Paris, but neither has addressed the nature of their relationship.

After filing for divorce in 2021 from Kanye West—with whom she shares kids North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6—Kim went on to date Pete Davidson for nearly a year.
After the breakup, the SKIMS founder shared that she wanted to focus on herself.
As she explained on Live with Kelly and Ryan the following month, "I'm not looking for anything. I think I just really need to be by myself and focus on finishing law school and my kids."

But even after finishing her legal studies program in June, Kim wasn't in a rush to dive back into dating.
“You get really comfortable the longer you’re single," she said on a November episode of The Kardashians. "You get really comfortable being single and the thought of you sharing a bed or your TV shows with someone else becomes less and less appealing because you get set in your ways.”

Yet, Kim remains open to finding husband No. 4.
"I’m the biggest hopeless romantic," she added. "When the right person comes along, I’ll be so ready and everything will be fine."
And when she is ready to date again, she doesn't think she'll be with someone with a "big and flashy" personality.
As she put it on Call Her Daddy in October, "I think we're going, like, lawyers and longevity scientists that can give me all their secrets."

Halle Berry Announces Engagement To Van Hunt

Congratulations! Halle Berry is officially engaged. The Oscar-winning actress confirmed that she is engaged to longtime partner Van Hunt, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding their relationship status.

Berry shared the news during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she proudly confirmed that she did, in fact, say yes to Hunt’s proposal
Rumors about the couple’s engagement had circulated online after Berry previously suggested she hadn’t accepted a proposal yet. However, she clarified that while the proposal did happen, the couple was in no rush to walk down the aisle and wanted to move at their own pace.

The engagement rumors began circulating last June, when the couple were guests on the Today Show. He said, “So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see. It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”
Berry and Hunt have been together since 2020, having met during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the years, the pair have frequently shared affectionate moments on social media, often praising one another publicly and giving fans glimpses into their close bond.

This engagement marks a new chapter for Berry, who has been open about her journey toward finding lasting love. While no wedding date has been announced, the actress made it clear she’s happy, in love, and excited about what’s ahead.

Da Brat Reveals Her Infant Son Received Death Threats After She Chose a White Sperm Donor

Da Brat and her wife, Jessica ‘Judy’ Dupart revealed they were met with death threats after announcing that a white sperm donor was used to conceive their now-two-year-old son, True Legend.
The couple, who married in 2022, chronicled their in vitro fertilization journey on their former reality television show, Brat Loves Judy. In a 2023 episode of the show, Da Brat revealed why they didn’t select their only Black option for a sperm donor out of a shortlist of 300 people.

That [dude] looked like Jiminy Cricket,” the Funkdafied artist told the outlet. “I was like, “I’m sorry but that wasn’t gonna be my choice. ... But I think we did a great job with picking. He’s handsome, he’s tall and I think he’s going to look beautiful with my wife’s egg.”
The remark drew backlash and some speculated that Da Brat and Dupart were colorist in their selection of a white sperm donor, but in a new interview on Chicago radio station 1075 WGCI, the couple said they weren’t given any Black candidates.

“First of all, it’s my egg,” Dupart said around the seven-minute mark of the video. So, you have to do genetic testing where they say all of the things that you carry, you put it in the system, and then they tell you who you’re
compatible with. As soon as we put in my seven things, we had no Black people available.”
Dupart added that the couple “didn’t have a choice” on who to choose and that couples in a similar situation have to make “hard decisions.” She also joked that Da Brat thought their donor options weren’t “good enough.”

The rapper said that her comment was made into “such a big deal,” but she still feels that the donor was unattractive. “Because the options were so narrow
and that's not what we wanted,” she said.
Elsewhere, Da Brat said that the couple received death threats that were aimed at their son. “I had to stop reading, I had to stop looking at it,” she recalled. “I’m from Chicago. I will pull up.”

Da Brat and Dupart appeared on an episode of The Tamron Hall Show in 2023 to address the backlash and said that the comment was taken “way out of context.”

Chris Brown Says Super Bowl ‘Needs’ Him Following Bad Bunny’s Halftime Performance

Chris Brown stirs up social media after reacting to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show with a pointed Instagram post that many fans viewed as dismissive.
Chris Brown found himself at the center of fresh controversy after commenting on Bad Bunny’s headline-making Super Bowl LX halftime performance, igniting debate across social media about ego, representation, and the evolving meaning of the NFL’s biggest stage.

Moments after Bad Bunny wrapped his historic set on Sunday, Feb. 8, Brown posted a brief message to his Instagram Stories. “I think it’s safe to say… they need me,” the singer wrote, punctuating the line with a smirking emoji.
The timing was impossible to ignore, landing just as viewers were still processing a halftime show that leaned heavily into culture, identity, and global reach rather than traditional spectacle.

Bad Bunny used the Super Bowl platform to spotlight Puerto Rican pride and the worldwide impact of Latin music. His performance fused reggaeton and pop with political undertones, framing the halftime show as a statement as much as an entertainment event.

The set featured high-profile appearances from Lady Gaga and Cardi B, while actor Pedro Pascal appeared in support. Ricky Martin joined Bad Bunny for a performance of “Lo Que Pasó a Hawaii,” reinforcing the night’s cultural throughline.
Online reaction to Brown’s comment was swift. Many fans praised Bad Bunny’s intent and execution, while criticizing Brown for centering himself during a moment they felt was bigger than any single artist.

“Chris Brown is a nasty individual for posting that,” one user wrote. “Bad Bunny’s performance was great and necessary for what’s happening right now.”
Another added, “Bad Bunny just put on a massive show and this man made it about himself. The desperation to stay relevant is loud.”

Others questioned whether Brown, 36, understood how the halftime show has changed. Once dominated by legacy hitmakers, the stage now carries cultural weight tied to representation, timing, and message.
