#NewMusic from Victoria Monét and Usher Share New Song ‘SOS’
Rising star Victoria Monét has teamed with R&B icon Usher for her new single “SOS,” produced by Camper.
“SOS,” short for “Sex On Sight,” is a sugary jam that captures the intense anticipation of sweet lovemaking with someone special. The sultry track arrives just in time for the approaching cuffing season.
Over mood-setting instrumentation, Monét sings, “I am way too sexy to be alone / Wanna show you a time, a time that I’m on / Want you to come / Send me your ETA.”
Usher appears in the second verse, starting with a smooth-talking rap before transitioning to his buttery harmonies. “And when I hit it right / In the right place / Look me in the eyes / Do what I say / Bend it over, throw it back / You and I, tongue-tied,” he sings.

#HipHopNews: Lil Baby Arrested In Las Vegas For Allegedly Possessing An Illegal Weapon
On Monday (Aug. 26), Lil Baby was taken into police custody in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The Atlanta rapper — known offstage as Dominique Armani Jones — was booked into Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $5,000.
While not much is currently known about the incident, the “Woah” hitmaker’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, issued a statement to TMZ. “To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit. On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas," they shared.
Notably, Lil Baby attended James Harden’s 35th birthday party at Drai's Las Vegas that same day. Chris Brown, Kevin Durant, Michael Rubin and Travis Scott were among the other celebrity attendees.
It's also worth mentioning the Quality Control Music artist has had a run-in with the law before. During 2021’s Paris Fashion Week, police stopped him, his bodyguard and Harden due to the smell of marijuana coming from their car. Lil Baby was briefly detained on suspicion of transporting drugs and released the next morning after paying fines, as confirmed by the prosecutor’s office.
Lil Baby is currently putting the final touches on his upcoming project. On Aug. 24, he revealed that it’s about 80 percent complete but didn’t hint at a release date or teaser single.

The Swifties for Kamala coalition took a significant leap forward on Tuesday, August 27, marking its launch with an engaging virtual rally dedicated to supporting Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. The event roared to life with an impressive lineup of guest speakers, including music legend Carole King and influential political figures like Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey.
King, introduced as the "original cat lady," expressed her admiration for Taylor Swift, calling her "my musical and songwriting granddaughter." During the rally, King showcased her affinity for Swift by rapping the chorus of "Shake It Off". Reflecting on the group's mission, King shared, "I'm excited about Kamala, because so many people are excited about Kamala." She emphasized the importance of volunteer efforts, encouraging the 27,000 attendees to engage in door knocking and phone banking.
Each guest was invited to reveal their favorite Swift song before delivering their political messages. Senator Warren kicked things off with her favorites, "Karma" and "All Too Well (10-Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)", and highlighted the fight against Ticketmaster. With fiery determination, she called for the "Era of the First Woman President" and rallied the viewers, resulting in $114,000 in donations to Harris' campaign by the end of the call.
Other memorable contributions came from senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Ed Markey, who cleverly incorporated references to Swift's songs in their speeches. North Carolina Democratic Party chair Anderson Clayton, along with representatives Chris Deluzio and Becca Balint, further strengthened the political narrative with their dynamic addresses.
The Swifties for Kamala coalition emerged swiftly after President Biden stepped down from his campaign and endorsed Harris. The group has since amassed a quarter of a million followers across social media and launched an extensive newsletter, aiming to mobilize young voters nationwide.
Although Swift has yet to publicly throw her support behind either Harris or Trump, her endorsement of the Biden-Harris ticket in 2020 has led many to anticipate a similar gesture. However, as Swifties for Harris social media manager Rohan Reagan explained, the coalition is forging ahead regardless of Swift's involvement, utilizing their collective platform to drive political engagement.
Rumors and misinformation were not far from the scene, with Donald Trump posting dubious images of women in "Swifties for Trump" shirts on his platform Truth Social. The credibility of these images was quickly debunked, highlighting the pervasive influence of AI-generated content in modern political discourse.
The launch of Swifties for Kamala symbolizes a self-motivated and impassioned movement, transcending celebrity endorsements to galvanize young voters in support of Kamala Harris. The event not only spotlighted the uniting power of music and politics but also demonstrated the potential of digital activism in shaping the future of American leadership.

Diddy Dubbed A 'Monster' By Lil Rod After Accusing The Producer Of Cash Grab With $30M Lawsuit
Sean "P. Diddy" Combs just got called out by his accuser Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones. Having been accused of a cash grab with his $30 million lawsuit, the producer described the "Gotta Move On" rapper as a monster.
"He's a monster," Lil Rod said in a new interview with Rolling Stone. "He'll do whatever is necessary to get exactly what he wants. He doesn't take no for an answer. He [told me] himself, 'I'll smack my mama.' Anybody who can say that even jokingly is a monster."
"He's nothing to be played with," Lil Rod added. "For a person whose brand is Love Records, and changed their name to Love and named their kid Love, he doesn't show love. He's just marketing."
During the sit-down, Lil Rod also recalled being invited to a Thanksgiving dinner where he believed no one would speak because they all had signed NDAs. "About 10 minutes later, Puff comes rolling in with Yung Miami and others following behind. Assistants were lighting candles, giving us cocktails," he recounted.
"He went in his bathroom attached to the studio and summoned me and DeForrest. He asked me if I had a $100 bill. There were three white lines on the sink. He was asking me to do something I've never done before," he continued. "It was awkward. He was trying to get me to do some drugs. I don't want to judge anybody, but that's at the top of my list of things I'm afraid to do."
Lil Rod filed a lawsuit against Diddy in February, alleging that the "I Need a Girl" rapper drugged and sexually assaulted him, and also forced him to have sex with sex workers. The emcee's lawyer branded the allegations "pure fiction."
In March, the music producer filed another lawsuit against Diddy and his son Justin Combs. He claimed that they engaged in a "massive" cover-up of their involvement in the shooting of a 30-year-old man at a "writers and producers camp" that was held at Diddy' Chalice Recording Studio in Los Angeles in September 2022.
Diddy has responded to the lawsuit though. He asked a judge to dismiss the allegations leveled at him. In the motion, the disgraced rapper included a recent video of Rod with Uncle Murda during 50 Cent's Humor and Harmony Festival earlier this month, where he said he wants his settlement money.

Ben Affleck’s Rep Denies Kick Kennedy Dating Rumor: ‘There Is No Truth to Any of It’
“There is no truth to any of it. I don’t know if they even know each other,” says Jen Allen, Affleck’s spokesperson, in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Multiple sources recently told PEOPLE that Affleck, 52, and Kick, 36, have been “spending time together,” with one source saying they’d been linked since late spring.
Kick is one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s six children. She was previously romantically linked to Paul Simon’s son Harper Simon. She also dated billionaire banking heir Matthew Mellon prior to his death in 2018.
Affleck is currently going through a divorce: Jennifer Lopez filed to end their marriage last week, citing their date of separation as April 26. They wed in July 2022.
A source told PEOPLE that Lopez, 55, “didn’t want a divorce” but, after making the move to file, she “seems relieved.”
“It’s been incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to pull away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind,” said that source. “She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It’s been almost torture for her to wait around.”
Meanwhile, another source said Affleck is “doing well and is very focused” in the wake of Lopez’s divorce filing: “He thrives when he has work projects. He’s been great when it comes to the kids too. He’s doing exactly what he wants. He seems very happy.”

Steve Harvey Finally Fires Back At Katt Williams With Strong Message
Steve Harvey has finally fired back at Katt Williams for the bombshell criticism he leveled at him during an appearance on Club Shay-Shay with Shannon Sharpe, earlier this year. He addressed his fellow comedian while speaking at Invest Fest in Atlanta, over the weekend. In doing so, he offered to turn their rivalry physical.
"You'll never have a hater that's doing better than you. Always know that," Harvey remarked to Stephen A Smith while discussing Williams. He then joked about his fighting skills before adding: "I'd knock your short ass out." When The Neighborhood Talk posted the clip on Instagram, fans mainly took Williams' side in the comments section.
"He definitely feels a way. The cursing and name calling shows it. Kat never called that man out his name but he did speak truth. Truth always gets a certain type of reaction, and this is one of them," one user wrote. Another added: "Steve you are not winning this one man… The people love Katt and Katt did not tell a lie…"
Steve Harvey Addresses Katt Williams
As for Williams' fiery criticism, he accused Harvey of stealing his jokes from other comedians. "The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had,” Williams said. “Now Steve got a sitcom where he the principal, and he wear a suit. And then he gets this high-top fade, making all Black men think he got the best lineup in the business. And it’s a man unit. Then you ask him, ‘Why you not a movie star?’ ‘I didn’t want to be a movie star.' This the same negro that hated on Bernie [Mac] with this same thing. You couldn’t be a movie star. There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good…and look like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Steve Harvey and Katt Williams

Halle Berry Jokingly Encourages Fans To Wear ‘Distressed Wigs’ To The Theater For The Premier Of Her Upcoming Film
Over on X (formally known as Twitter), Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry has been the center of two long-running jokes. The first joke is the theory that her best work involves her trying to save children. Throughout her career, Halle Berry has starred in films — such as The Call (2013) and Kidnap (2017) — where her character’s main goal is to help secure the safety of a minor(s).
The second joke is a theory that Halle Berry, 58, tends to give her best acting performances while wearing a short bad or “distressed” wig. Berry’s upcoming film, Never Let Go, seems to back both jokes. The movie, set to be released on September 20, centers around a woman teaching her young sons how to survive in their wilderness home following a world-ending event.
After sharing the poster for the film to her X account, one fan replied,
“Lemme go ahead and pull my short wig out to see this in theaters.”
Jumping in on the joke, Berry quickly wrote back,
“Can you guys please send me pictures of yall going to the theater in your distressed wigs?
Thx – Management”
Of course, she was more than likely joking, however, fans flooded Berry’s mentions with comments informing the actress that they had no problem fulfilling her wish. See some reactions below:

DNC Producers Address Beyoncé Appearance Rumor: ‘Why Would We Overshadow Kamala Harris?’
Beyoncé’s DNC appearance was all a lie. The 2024 Democratic National Convention saw its fair share of buzz, but one rumor that circulated was that Beyoncé would make a surprise appearance on the final night. The speculation, however, was unfounded.
Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss, the executive producer and director of the convention, addressed the persistent rumor in a recent interview.
Ricky Kirshner stated,
“We never put out anything about Beyoncé. We denied it every time the media asked us — even though, by the way, people on my staff didn’t believe me. I kept getting texts from news organizations saying, ‘When is Beyoncé coming out?’ But come on, we have the biggest star, the Democratic nominee for president. Why would we overshadow that?”
Glenn Weiss added,
“This is the Internet taking on a life of its own and people taking something as fact — literally to the point that people in my booth are saying, ‘Is she coming? You can tell me.’ And I would say, ‘I have no knowledge she’s coming.’ And they would say, ‘No knowledge? So there’s something to know!’ It was pretty crazy. But she wasn’t coming. In the end even TMZ [which first reported it] had to issue an apology.”
The rumor gained traction when TMZ reported that Beyoncé would appear at the convention, just hours before Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to deliver her highly anticipated speech. However, Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, dispelled the speculation by posting a photo on Instagram of herself watching the convention from home, with the caption:
“At home watching and anticipating the VP’s historic speech. Focus on the win and register to vote. Do not report rumors.”
TMZ later admitted their mistake, tweeting,
“To quote the great Beyoncé: We gotta lay our cards down, down, down … we got this one wrong.”
Despite the speculation, the convention remained focused on its core messages and key speakers, including Vice President Kamala Harris, who accepted the presidential nomination to an audience of more than 26 million viewers.

Jazz Jennings Celebrates Losing Nearly 100 Pounds in 2 Years
Jazz Jennings is sharing a major update on her weight loss journey. For the past few years, the 23-year-old I am Jazz star has been documenting her weight loss journey on social media, engaging in activities like tennis, running, and hitting the gym.
On Monday (August 26), Jazz took to Instagram to celebrate losing nearly 100 pounds over the past two years.
“Two years later and almost 100 pounds lighter! I’m so proud of my progress and want to thank my family, friends and all who supported me in getting there!” Jazz wrote. “Good health is not a certificate you display, it is a constant effort! I still have room for improvement, but I am more motivated and inspired than I’ve been in years. Let’s keep it going! Follow @jazzjennings_ to keep up with the journey + more.”
Along with her post, Jazz shared a video of herself from two years ago struggling to run, which then transitioned to a more recent video of herself looking noticeably slimmer as she ran with ease.
Back in June 2021, Jazz got vulnerable about her “substantial” weight gain.
“I suffer from binge-eating disorder, a disease in which I’m not only addicted to food, but I eat it in large quantities,” she wrote at the time. “My binging, along with an increased appetite I experience from some of the meds I’m on, has caused me to gain almost 100 pounds in a little less than 2 years.”
She noted that she was “ready to take the initiative and create positive changes” for her health.

CNN Lands Kamala Harris and Tim Walz Joint Interview
Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will have their first joint interview on CNN since becoming the Democratic presidential and vice presidential nominees last week.
The pair will sit down exclusively with CNN anchor and chief political correspondent Dana Bash in Georgia, a crucial battleground state in the November election. The interview also marks Harris’ first network sit-down interview since replacing Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket after he stepped down last month. It’s also a first for Walz since being announced as Harris’ running mate on Aug. 6.
The special, titled The First Interview: Harris & Walz a CNN Exclusive, will air Thursday, Aug. 29, at 9 p.m. ET/PT across CNN’s platforms.
Harris and Walz have been busy on the campaign trail, as well as headlining an energized 2024 Democratic National Convention last week, which averaged 21.8 million viewers in primetime. The star-studded convention saw state delegates, notable politicians, celebrities and more fill Chicago’s United Center arena throughout the four-day event.
It’s only been a little more than five weeks since Harris officially launched her campaign for the White House after Biden withdrew from the election following calls for him to step down due to his disastrous debate with Donald Trump in June. Biden then proceeded to endorse Harris to take his place at the top of the ticket.
Since then, Harris has not done any extensive interviews with any major media outlets; however, she said earlier in August that she planned to do a sit-down interview by the end of the month.

Lady GaGa Called 'Shallow' By PETA For Buying New Dog Instead Of Adopting One
Lady GaGa was once again targeted by PETA. The "A Star Is Born" singer found herself being called "shallow" by the animal rights nonprofit organization for allegedly buying a new French Bulldog puppy instead of adopting one.
PETA revealed to RadarOnline.com that it has created a sweatshirt to tell everyone "exactly what breed of person [GaGa] is." On the front part, there is a writing that reads, "I'm an a**hole! I bought a dog." On the back, there's a printing, "Adopt! Don't shop."
"Animal shelters are bursting at the seams with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds who desperately need loving homes," Senior Vice President Lisa Lange argued, "but Lady Gaga is apparently too shallow to care."
"There're a million reasons to adopt and not shop," Lisa added. "And PETA urges everyone to avoid being an a**hole and stop putting money into the pockets of breeders who destroy homeless animals' chances at finding a family."
According to PETA, animal shelters are overflowing with "wonderful" animals, many of which are considered purebreds. It claimed there are around 70 million homeless dogs and cats in the U.S. and the crisis will not end unless breeders stop churning out litters and strict spay and neuter laws start being enforced.
GaGa introduced her new French bulldog puppy on Wednesday, August 21. At that time, she shared a TikTok video of her serenading the puppy with her new Bruno Mars-assisted single, "Die With a Smile." She appeared in striking makeup, with black hair, red lipstick, and intense blue eyeshadow.
The new pup arrives nearly three years after GaGa's dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was shot during an attempted dognapping. Two of her dogs, Koji and Gustav, were stolen while the third was left behind and later recovered.

DJ Vlad Issues Public Apology to Marlon Wayans After Spat Over Interview ‘Fee’
Sometimes, beef isn’t meant to last. In a surprising turn of events, DJ Vlad, the host of the popular VladTV platform, has issued a public apology to actor and comedian Marlon Wayans after a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter). The feud between the two erupted following a failed negotiation over an interview, with DJ Vlad initially expressing frustration and disrespect toward Wayans, particularly over financial terms.
Get this: the tension became evident when Vlad aired his grievances during an interview with DJ Akademiks, explaining that their dispute stemmed from a business disagreement.
“Honestly, at the end of the day, it was just a business negotiation,” Vlad admitted. “I could’ve kept it to myself. I overdid it.
Why the change of heart? Well, one thing is for sure: it appeared genuine as he extended an olive branch, expressing his respect for Wayans despite their differences. “I do actually respect [him],” Vlad added, explaining that his initial approach to Wayans was out of admiration. He acknowledged feeling slighted that Wayans seemed to favor other media personalities like Charlamagne Tha God and Big Boy but admitted his own fault in the matter.
“My bad Marlon, I apologize […] It’s all good. I think most people just want to respect each other, and I think it could have been handled a little differently.”
The bad blood first became public knowledge during a conversation between Vlad and comedian Aries Spears. Vlad disclosed that Wayans had demanded $40,000 for an interview and 30% of future earnings from the episode—terms Vlad deemed unreasonable. The situation escalated online when a fan jokingly suggested Wayans should have asked for even more money. Wayans responded humorously, while Vlad fired back, calling Wayans “delusional” and ridiculing his demands.
ICYMI, in response, Wayans took to X, calling out Vlad’s unprofessionalism. “You mad? You unprofessional my guy,” Wayans wrote. “If you don’t like the number, keep it moving. You look BAD. You should fall back. Mad at a black man stating his number? And now you go public and use your platform to try to drag me.”
Despite the heated exchange, Vlad’s recent apology suggests he’s willing to put the incident behind him and potentially work with Wayans in the future.
Whelp, now that’s over, I guess it’s back to business for both of them.
