1. Can you tell us about your musical journey and how you got started in the industry?
I’m originally from New Orleans, LA, and was raised in Oakland, CA. I claim both cities because they helped groom my musical journey. I’m from NOLABAY. (Laughing) In New Orleans, my mother had a local band, and my stepfather played drums in her band. I would watch them rehearse and record in our home. When I heard the playback of my mother’s voice after recording, that was when I knew I wanted to be a recording artist. Seeing my mother perform and lead her band was just like the first time the world saw Michael Jackson moonwalk on the Motown Special. All this inspired and influenced me to become the artist I am today. My mother ended her career as a singer to take care of her family when we moved to Oakland, California, for a better job.
It wasn’t until my college days that my career as a local artist began to take off. I started my own band, and word of mouth about my performances began to build my name throughout the Bay Area. I would wait tables, be a singing waitress, work at a record store, perform in local nightclubs, and be an understudy in theatre to help pay the bills. Until I didn’t need theatre anymore, and I used all my favors and two credit cards to pay for my first recording. I interned at a studio to complete my first project, “Soulsinger.” Here we are now, on my 12th recording, "Good Life," and now a Grammy Award Winning Artist.
2. What inspires you when writing songs and creating music?
Life inspires me to write my songs—my life, someone else’s life, and the life that’s happening around me. I enjoy living my human experience. I love being emotional, intimate and talking about the world through music and other forms of my art. It’s a blessing to be able to express life through music and artistry.
3. What do you hope listeners take away from your music?
I want people to see themselves in my music. Becoming the soundtrack to someone’s life is a huge compliment. I hope that continues to happen. I hope my listeners feel understood, seen, and not alienated.
4. How do you see the connection between your music and your personal style or fashion choices?
I am a chameleon in my music as well as my style. I dress according to my mood and according to the moment I wish to express my art. It took a while for me to understand that I can actually visually express myself through my hair, my clothing, and my make-up. All of it is an external expression of me, just being myself. It took time to dissect who I am in this voice through personal style. Some days, I am simple, classic, and old black Hollywood. On other days, I am over the top theatrical, gothic, wearing Adidas, or in head wraps and kimonos being earthy. It all depends on my mood and the moment. My music is also unpredictable. I am known for being an R&B Vocalist. But as an artist, I have studied classical, sing jazz and I love singing in different languages. I have expanded in my personal style over the years. What’s funny is that I started singing in nightclubs in blue jeans, graphic tees, sneakers, and a baseball cap to hide my face. I’ve come a long way in my fashion as well as my music. I am very much still all over the place. That’s the beauty of growing into yourself you’re always growing. Fashion should be treated the same way.
5. How do you stay true to yourself and your personal style in an industry that often prioritizes trends and external expectations?
I don’t follow trends. I look at what’s classic, timeless, and iconic, and I love going against the grain. I kinda ignore trying to fit in. I love rebelling against what everyone does or wants me to be. I do what feels good to me. But I am also adventurous…I try stuff. I wasn’t always like that. But I find that when I do that, I learn more about myself, what I like when I see myself in something, and what I don’t like. I hope this journey of self-discovery and resilience inspires you.

#MusicNews: ‘Don’t Cha Do It!’: Stevie Wonder Calls Out Trump’s Detroit Remarks at Concert
Stevie Wonder used his Detroit homecoming as an opportunity to clap back at presidential candidate Donald Trump for disrespecting the city during the campaign.
“I just gotta say for the record, I don’t like nobody talking bad about Detroit,” the Motown icon told a sold-out crowd on Tuesday night at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on the latest stop of his Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart tour. He then led the audience in a chant of “Don’t cha do it!,” pointedly aimed at Trump.
Wonder was referencing the Republican candidate’s disparaging remarks during an Oct. 13 speech to the Detroit Economic Club, where he warned that if his Democratic opponent, Vice-President Kamala Harris, is elected, “the whole country will end up being like Detroit — a mess.”
He also called Detroit “a developing area more than most places in China.” His remarks generated equally harsh criticism from Detroit and Michigan civic leaders as well as labor leaders.
Wonder, who has publicly, endorsed Harris as “not just any woman, a wonderful woman, and she has done the work consistently.”
He announced the Sing Our Song! tour less than three weeks before its Oct. 8 opening in Pittsburgh, playing 11 shows in mostly swing states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in the wake of his surprise single, “As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart.”
The swipe at Trump — on a night former President Barack Obama was campaigning for Harris nearby at Detroit’s Huntington Center (introduced by Eminem) — was not Wonder’s only political comment on Tuesday.
Later in the show he recited, for the first time ever, the lyrics of a new song, “Politic Playa,” which Wonder said will appear on his next album, Through the Eyes of Wonder, slated for release in March. T
he pointed song includes verses such as “you campaigned throughout the nation, saying you’ll unite the land/But when you get in office, you completely change the plan,” with a chorus that runs, “Politic playa/Why you playin’ politics so wrong/Politic playa/You get what you want, then you’re absent, up and gone.”
Introducing “Village Ghetto Land,” on which he sang accompanied only by a 12-piece string section, Wonder, who was born in Saginaw and moved to Detroit when he was four years old, recalled the violence and poverty he witnessed in the neighborhood in which he grew up.
“I just remember all this stuff was going on…a lot of what we saw then is what we’re seeing now, and that’s unacceptable. We gotta fix that,” he said, turning his attention to politicians as he added, “It’s not about what they say; it’s what they do. And my freedom and my rights for what I want can’t be bought.”
Wonder took one more shot at Trump while vamping during “Do I Do,” referencing the Economic Club remarks again before saying, “All this has gotta stop…Let’s make America LOVE again.”

#HipHopNews: Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah Among National Medal of Arts Recipients at White House Ceremony
President Biden handed out the prestigious National Medals of Arts and National Humanities honors to 39 recipients at the White House on Monday (Oct. 21), including hip-hip legends Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott.
“I am HUMBLY GRATEFUL! Crying Tears of JOY!,” wrote Elliott on X after the ceremony in which she was given the highest honor bestowed on artists by the U.S. government. “Thinking of the days I wasn’t so strong but through FAITH & PRAYER I kept going..I’m SO THANKFUL @POTUS & CONGRATULATIONS to the other amazing ppl who was blessed with this honor.”
Elliott also shouted out Latifah, saying, “And a BIG CONGRATS to my sis @IAMQUEENLATIFAH who deserve all the bouquets she also was honored today! Thank you for kicking down doors QUEEN for me & those after you.”
“Above all, you are the masters of your craft that have made us a better America with all of you have done,” Biden said at the ceremony according to the Associated Press. Among the other National Medals of Arts recipients were directors Steven Spielberg and Spike Lee and Ken Burns, as well playwright/screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and historian Jon Meacham, who received National Humanities Medals.
Beloved singer Selena Quintanilla was awarded a posthumous humanities honor, along with late chef/author Anthony Bourdain. During his remarks, Biden also mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris with just two weeks left in the presidential election. “I know the power of the women in this room to get things done,” he said, adding that the day’s female winners were “proving a woman can do anything a man can do, and then some, that includes being president of the United States of America.”
After getting a standing ovation for the former, Biden also told the winners that their special moment came at a “very consequential time in the arts and humanities in America [because] extreme forces are banning books, trying to erase history, spreading misinformation”; the event celebrated both the 2022 and 2023 National Medal of Arts recipients.
Others who received the arts medals — managed by the National Endowment for the Arts — were actors Idina Menzel and Eva Longoria, as well as musician Leonardo “Flaco” Jimenez and ukulele master Herbert I. Ohta, as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The arts medals are awarded “to individuals or groups who are deserving of special recognition by reason of their outstanding contributions to the excellence, growth, support and availability of the arts in the United States.”
Last year’s event for the 2021 Medal of Arts recipients included honors for Bruce Springsteen, Gladys Knight, José Feliciano, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mindy Kaling and more.

‘Blade’ Reboot Removed From 2025 Marvel Film Calendar
Marvel‘s reboot of the Blade film franchise has been removed from its calendar listing its slate of films planned for release in 2025.
According to Variety, on Tuesday (Oct. 22), news of the film being pushed back surfaced, continuing a succession of false-starts and delays of the anticipated project since it was first announced over five years ago.
Blade‘s delay is largely speculated as a byproduct of director Yann Demange’s departure from the film this past June, as well as Disney CEO Bob Iger’s recent declaration that Marvel will only release three movies per year for the foreseeable future.
Predator: Badlands, the sixth film in the popular franchise, is now listed to arrive on the Blade reboot’s previous release date of Nov. 7, 2025.
Starring Mahershala Ali, the reboot of Blade was first announced in 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con after Ali pitched Marvel President Kevin Feige on the idea of taking on the role of Eric “Blade” Brooks in a reboot himself.
However, the project has been subjected to numerous roadblocks in recent years, beginning with the COVID pandemic and continuing with the departure of Bassam Tariq, the first director to helm production over the film, in 2022.
This resulted in the film’s intended release date of November 2023 being pushed back to September 2024. Another roadblock occurred when Marvel suspended pre-production for Blade following the 2023 WGA strike, pushing the movie back again to November 2025.
While fans awaiting the Blade reboot are likely unpleased with the latest development regarding the project, with Marvel listing three untitled film releases on the calender for 2028, hope still remains that we’ll get to see the reprisal of the franchise in the years to come.

Busta Rhymes Calls For Reserved Judgement Against Diddy Amid Sexual Assault Allegations
Busta Rhymes believes that the public should reserve their judgement and opinion of Sean “Diddy” Combs until the allegations and charges against him have been resolved.
During a recent interview, Busta became the latest celebrity to weigh in on the whirlwind of sexual assault allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs, which has become a hot topic within Hip-Hop and entertainment as a whole.
According to the rap star, critique and speculation regarding the claims against Combs does a disservice to his alleged victims, as well as the accused himself.
“The one thing that we should take away from what I’m saying is everybody probably need to mind they damn business until the truth is undisputed,” Busta stated while speaking with Extra. “At that point, justice needs to be served accordingly for everyone involved.”
The Brooklyn native continued, “It’s unfortunate, because I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, and I’m talking about for the victims and I’m talking about for Diddy. So, I’m gonna leave it there, and I’m gonna mind my business, and hopefully everybody can find it in they hearts to keep they opinion to theyself and just know that every time you voice an opinion, you might be hurting somebody.”
While Busta Rhymes would distance himself from being privy to any details regarding the case, he insisted that the main reason for concern are the victims and their well-being. “For the people who were there, let’s think about them first before you think about your own opinion. Put prayers up for them all,” he said.
Another aspect of the coverage and sentiments regarding Diddy’s legal issues that troubles Busta is the notion that the allegations against Combs are indicative of a bigger issue or trend within Hip-Hop, which the hitmaker vehemently denies.
“His situation is not a Hip-Hop situation,” Busta explained to the outlet. “And I also would like for everyone to be mindful of the thirst and the urgency and the need to speak on the situation. I think a lot of times, people don’t realize how insensitive it could be to have opinions on things that you have no understanding of outside of what you’re being told.”

Former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch indicted on sex trafficking charges
Mike Jeffries, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, has been indicted on 16 federal counts of sex trafficking and international prostitution in New York, and is accused of leveraging “a network of employees, contractors and security professionals” while he led the retailer.
“While Jeffries was the CEO of one of the most recognizable clothing retailers in the world, he was using his power, his wealth and his influence to traffic men for his own sexual pleasure and that of his romantic partner, Matthew Smith,” Breon Peace, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said in a Tuesday press conference.
Smith, 61, of West Palm Beach, Florida, and another associate of Jeffries, James Jacobson, 71, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, were also indicted as part of the case. Jacobson was employed by Jeffries and Smith to recruit, interview and hire men to perform commercial sex acts for Jeffries and Smith, according to the indictment.
The indictment alleges that between December 2008 and March 2015, Jeffries, Smith, and Jacobson engaged in a sex trafficking scheme in which they would recruit men engage in “sex events” at which the alleged victims were given muscle relaxants known as “poppers,” alcohol, lubricant, Viagra, and condoms to perform sex acts. They were allegedly enticed into the acts with modeling and career opportunities at Abercrombie.
Jefferies stepped down as CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch in December, 2014, having run the company since 1992. Abercrombie & Fitch did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“The message from today’s prosecution is clear, sexually exploiting vulnerable human beings is a crime in doing so by dangling dreams of a future in fashion or modeling or or any other business is no different,” U.S. Attorney Peace said at the press conference announcing the indictment.
United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace speaks during a press conference held by the
Jeffries and Smith relied on their vast financial resources, according to the indictment, using Jacobson and a network of employees, contractors, and security professionals, to run a business that was “dedicated to fulfilling their sexual desires and ensuring that their international sex trafficking and prostitution business was kept secret.”
Jeffries and Smith paid for dozens of men to travel within the United States and internationally to various locations, including the Hamptons, New York City and hotels in England, France, Italy, Morocco, and Saint Barthélémy for the purpose of engaging in sex acts with Jeffries, Smith and others, according to the indictment. Some of the men were allegedly paid to attend multiple sex events.
All three defendants were arrested this morning. Jeffries and Smith made their initial appearances this afternoon in federal court in the Southern District of Florida. Jacobson was arrested in Wisconsin and made his initial appearance in federal court in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Jeffries was released on a $10 million bond, Jacobson was released on a $500,000 bond, and Smith was ordered to be detained. They will be arraigned in the Eastern District of New York on Friday.
“We will respond in detail to the allegations after the Indictment is unsealed, and when appropriate, but plan to do so in the courthouse – not the media,” said Brian Bieber, attorney for Michael Jeffries. The attorney for Matthew Smith released the same statement for his client. An attorney for Jacobson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Jacobson’s alleged role was to travel the world to recruit and interview men for the “sex events” and conduct tryouts of potential candidates. Jacobson typically required that the candidates first engage in sex acts with him, according to the indictment.
Jeffries and Smith hired a separate household staff to supervise these parties and directed the men to wear costumes, use sex toys or prepare for particular sex acts, prosecutors allege. The staff would also act as security and controlled who entered and exited the “sex events,” the indictment says, and would not let them leave until Jeffries and Smith decided the events were over.
The accused are alleged to have used a referral system and interview process for the sex events, but didn’t disclose details to the men about what they would entail, including the full extent and nature of the sexual activity that would be required of them, according to the indictment, which included anal intercourse, and the use of sex toys and other objects.
The accused intentionally recruited heterosexual men, who were also physically groomed prior to the sex parties, including shaving their genitals without advance notice. The men were required to relinquish personal items, including clothing, wallets, and cell phones.
On more than one occasion, the indictment says Jeffries and Smith directed others to inject, or personally injected, men with a drug for the purpose of causing the men to engage in sex acts “in which they were otherwise physically incapable or unwilling.”
These injections frequently caused the men to suffer painful physical reactions that lasted for several hours, according to prosecutors.

In some cases the alleged victims had previously worked at Abercrombie stores or had modeled for Abercrombie, and were provided with “itineraries for the Sex Events that did not refer to commercial sex, and instead resembled those often sent to models for photo shoots.” Some of the alleged victims were as young as 19, a source familiar with the case said.
Many of these men were aspiring models, and were led to believe that attending the parties would benefit their careers, prosecutors say. They were also told, according to the indictment, that not complying with certain requests for certain acts would harm their careers. The victims were allegedly required to sign non-disclosure agreements, prohibiting them from sharing any information about the sex events, including with their own family and friends.
Jeffries came under intense scrutiny in 2023 after a BBC investigation alleged the CEO and his partner Matthew Smith used a middleman to recruit and exploit young men. Dozens of men filed a lawsuit last year against Jeffries and Abercrombie & Fitch, alleging the former CEO used his position at the company to exploit and abuse men. Abercrombie & Fitch said at the time it was “appalled” by the allegations and launched an independent investigation into the matter.
As CEO for over two decades, Jeffries transformed Abercrombie & Fitch into a global brand for teen and youth fashion, often with provocative marketing.
In 2006, Jeffries went viral for a Salon interview, when he said: “We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong (in our clothes), and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”
In 2013, Abercrombie & Fitch garnered notoriety after a Change.org petition that gained nearly 80,00 signatures called for the company to introduce larger, more inclusive t-shirt sizes. That year, Abercrombie & Fitch succumbed to the pressure and announced they would begin offering plus-sizes in some clothing.
Jeffries stepped down in 2014 amid celebration from fans who wanted to ditch his exclusionary vision for the company.

Akron, Ohio settles $4.8M with Jayland Walker’s family after police shooting
The tragic death of Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man shot by police in Akron, Ohio, has led to a significant settlement for his family. The city has agreed to pay $4.8 million after a grand jury declined to indict the officers involved in the shooting, which occurred during a traffic stop in June 2022.
On June 27, 2022, Walker was stopped by police due to a broken taillight and a malfunctioning rear license plate light. According to police reports, Walker allegedly refused to stop and fired a shot from his vehicle before fleeing on foot. The situation escalated when Walker exited his moving car and allegedly ignored police commands to stop and show his hands. This led to eight officers firing a total of 46 shots at Walker, resulting in his death.
The aftermath of this incident sparked widespread protests in Akron, highlighting ongoing issues of police violence and accountability within the community. The officers involved were initially placed on administrative leave but were later reassigned to desk duty before returning to active duty.
The settlement agreement
On Monday, the mayor’s office confirmed the settlement agreement with Walker’s family. This financial compensation comes as part of a broader discussion about police reform and community safety in Akron. The city has already implemented changes to its vehicle pursuit policy, limiting police chases to more serious offenses rather than minor equipment violations.
However, the settlement is not just about the money. Walker’s family attorney, Bobby DiCello, emphasized that their litigation efforts aim to bring about meaningful change in police procedures and community relations. DiCello stated that the family seeks to ensure that such tragedies do not occur again.
Community impact and future discussions
The death of Jayland Walker has resonated deeply within the Akron community and beyond, serving as a painful reminder of the ongoing struggle against systemic racism and police brutality. The protests that followed Walker’s death were part of a larger movement advocating for justice and accountability in law enforcement practices.
As part of the settlement discussions, the city plans to engage in further conversations with Walker’s family regarding police procedures and community safety. These discussions are crucial for fostering trust between law enforcement and the community, especially in light of the emotional and social turmoil caused by Walker’s death.
The settlement of $4.8 million is a significant step for the Walker family, but it also highlights the need for continued dialogue and reform in policing practices. As communities across the nation grapple with issues of police violence and accountability, the case of Jayland Walker serves as a poignant reminder of the work that still needs to be done.
For those interested in following the developments surrounding this case and the broader implications for police reform, it is essential to stay informed and engaged in community discussions. The fight for justice and accountability is ongoing, and every voice matters in this critical conversation.
WNBA Players Demand Higher Salaries & Upgraded Facilities Following Record-Breaking Season
Following a historic season, the WNBA Players Union announced yesterday (October 21st) that it will forgo its collective bargaining agreement with the league and negotiate a new contract seeking higher pay, upgraded team facilities, as well as better health and family planning benefits.
The union wrote in a press release:“The WNBPA Board of Player Representatives and WNBPA Executive Committee have decided to opt out of the 2020 WNBA/WNBPA CBA on behalf of the collective…It’s business.”
Seattle Storm star and WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike added:
“This is a defining moment, not just for the WNBA, but for all of us who believe in progress…opting out isn’t just about bigger paychecks — it’s about claiming our rightful share of the business we’ve built, improving working conditions and securing a future where the success we create benefits today’s players and the generations to come. We’re not just asking for a CBA that reflects our value; we’re demanding it, because we’ve earned it,”
The discussion around WNBA players’ salaries was thrust into the spotlight earlier this year as two of the league’s rookie stars, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, ushered in a new and excited fanbase.
Just last week, fans called out the league over the matter after Reese claimed her $74,000 annual salary isn’t enough to cover her monthly rent.
According to NPR, this past WNBA season saw a dramatic increase in game attendance, ratings, and overall revenue for the league, seemingly supporting the player’s push for better pay.
While negotiations are still underway, the league’s commissioner released a statement about the matter, writing:
“With the historic 2024 WNBA season now in the books, we look forward to working together with the players and the WNBPA on a new CBA that is fair for all and lays the foundation for growth and success for years to come.”

A federal judge in New York has ordered former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani to turn over his luxury Manhattan apartment and many of his valuables to the two Georgia election workers he defamed.
In a decision released Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman ordered Giuliani, a longtime ally of and former lawyer for former President Donald Trump, to transfer personal property "including cash accounts, jewelry and valuables, a legal claim for unpaid attorneys’ fees, and his interest in his Madison Avenue co-op apartment to a receivership" within seven days.
Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss filed an action to seize Giuliani's assets in August in an effort to begin collecting on the $146 million in damages they were awarded last year after a judge found Giuliani liable for repeatedly defaming them. Giuliani had falsely accused the pair of election fraud after the 2020 presidential election.

The judge granted the mother and daughter the right to use a receiver to sell off Giuliani's assets "in order to ensure that the liquidation of the transferred assets is accomplished quickly" while "maximizing the sale value of the unique and intangible items and therefore increasing the likelihood of satisfaction of the Plaintiffs’ judgment."
Among the items that are supposed to be turned over are Giuliani's apartment, which is valued at $5.7 million, his collection of luxury watches, including watches gifted to him by his grandfather and the French president, a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey, a signed Reggie Jackson picture and a 1980 Mercedes previously owned by actress Lauren Bacall.
Some items not included in the decision are his three New York Yankees World Series rings because his son Andrew Giuliani has claimed that his father gifted the rings to him. The judge said Andrew Giuliani's claim — and Freeman and Moss's claim to Giuliani's Florida condo — would be determined at a later date.
The unpaid legal fee that Liman referenced refers to $2 million that Giuliani says the Trump campaign owes him for his efforts at overturning the 2020 election results.
Shawn Mendes apparently addressed the gay rumors surrounding him on a new song. The 26-year-old Canadian singer treated his fans to a preview of his upcoming song "The Mountain" at his concert.
In a video posted on TikTok, Shawn could be seen singing the song in front of his fans. "Some days, I have a change of heart/ You can say what you need to say," he sang.
The "Stitches" hitmaker later addressed speculations on his sexuality. "You can say I'm too young/ You can I'm too old/ You can say I like girls or boys/ Whatever fits your mold,' " he serenaded.
Prior to this, Shawn shut down rumors that he's gay in a Snapchat post. In the 2016 message, the former boyfriend of Camila Cabello said, "So I don't usually do this and bring up problems, but I was on YouTube just watching some of my interviews, and I was going down the comments and noticed a lot of people were saying that I gave them a 'gay vibe.' "
He continued, "First of all, I'm not gay. Second of all, it shouldn't make a difference if I was or if I wasn't. The focus should be on the music and not my sexuality."
When it comes to his dating life, Shawn was briefly linked to Sabrina Carpenter following his split from Camila. Shawn, however, denied their dating rumors during a podcast interview, saying, "We are not dating but I think we should talk about Tommy Hilfiger probably more than Sabrina," he said back in March. The next month, Camila and Shawn were snapped packing on PDA at Coachella, though their rekindled romance was short-lived.
Sabrina, meanwhile, seemingly shaded Camila and Shawn on her new single "Taste". "I heard you're back together and if that's true/ you'll just have to taste me when he's kissin' you," the "Please Please Please" hitmaker sang.

Judge Joe Brown’s unhinged rant about Vice President Kamala Harris
Judge Joe Brown went on a profanity-laced rant aimed at presidential candidate Kamala Harris, calling her several vulgar names in a video that has gone viral.
Brown uttered extremely explicit statements about Harris while on stage speaking to a crowd at an undisclosed location.
“I’ma hurt somebody’s feelings, but we got a witch running for president,” Brown begins within the clip. “That woman is the worst kind of sleaze you could ever think of.”
The former TV judge added that he saw many “pimps and h—” over 40 years ago in Memphis, and said, “I know a h– when I see one … ” in regards to a video featuring Harris speaking that was published by Yahoo.com.
The judge added, “When I see a h–, I know she got a pimp, and I want to find out who the pimps are that we getting tricked out of the benefit of. Who are the pimps that this woman is working for? And I see some decent ladies out there, I’ve met a few of you, and i resent the fact that you got a h– that’s been in your face.”
“Harris is faking being a negro,” Brown claims, adding that he met Harris’ father in Jamaica and was told he is not Black, but “Irish and Hindu.”
This is not the first time Brown has let the expletives and insults fly when describing Harris’ alleged character and machinations. He accused Harris of flirting with men to get what she wanted in an interview for the “Art of Dialogue” podcast.
“She had a reputation among the trial lawyers of being lazy,” he said at the time. “She’d just hike her skirt up and try to flirt, and she wasn’t that good in the courtroom, if not, pretty bad in the courtroom.”
Also, in an interview with conservative commentator Candace Owens, Brown claims disgraced actor Jussie Smollett of “Empire” fame is her nephew. Smollett was briefly jailed after being charged with faking a homophobic and racist beatdown in Chicago in February 2019.
The Harris camp has yet to respond publicly to Brown’s tirades directed at her.

“We were in a bubble, we were shooting on set, everything was on a studio [set],” Tom dished about the secrecy of filming Spider-Man: No Way Home. “Tobey and Andrew would come to set in like a cloak, it was like something out of Star Wars… It was hilarious, and it was an amazing experience. It was really odd being there with them, as a fan of the films from before.”
Tom also told a cute story about meeting a trick-or-treater on Halloween dressed as Spider-Man when no one but his family knew he was playing Spider-Man.
When asked if he could confirm Spider-Man 4 is for sure happening, Tom said, “It’s happening!”
He then revealed, “Yeah, next summer we start shooting. Everything’s good to go, we’re nearly there, super exciting. Yeah, I can’t wait!”
Tom has definitely been keeping us updated on the status of the movie lately.
Just last week, Tom dished on reading the script and a timeline of when it will happen.

Cardi B Slams Anonymous Caller Who Sent Child Protective Services to Her House, Threatens to Sue Them
Cardi B was the victim of a horrible prank when an anonymous tipster called Child Protective Services to her home alleging that she was abusing her three children.
Cardi hopped on Instagram Live to address the prankster early Tuesday (Oct. 22) from what appeared to be a hospital bed (she said she’s been hospitalized since Oct. 19) while vowing to get to the bottom of whoever attempted to mess with her family.
We have reached out to reps for Cardi B and CPS. The Grammy-winning rapper and Offset are the parents to three kids — 6-year-old daughter Kulture, 3-year-old son Wave and a newborn daughter they welcomed in September.
“I swear to you I’m gonna get to the bottom of it. For you motherf—–s to do a little prank call with Child Protective Services to come to my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my children are sleeping because there’s an anonymous call that my kids have been getting abused and beaten,” she said. “Are you f–king dumb? This is when the pranks start getting too far — when you a——s think it’s funny.”
She continued: “We’re the only people of color in my neighborhood completely and for motherf–kers to pop up in my house with cops and Child Protective Services because you motherf–kers want to do an anonymous call involving my children.”
Cardi also defended her spoiling her kids as she revealed she sends Kulture to a private school costing her and Set $45,000 in tuition fees each, while a nanny for their newborn comes with a $700 daily price tag.
“My kids live great,” she added. “My kids have never been touched, never gotten hit, no matter how annoying they are. I never hit my kids. We take very great care of our kids. Don’t you ever in your f–king life play with my motherhood or my ex-husband’s fatherhood.”
Cardi promised to get to the bottom of it, saying she’ll be reaching out to her lawyer along with a pair of private investigators. She also threatened litigation against CPS as well as “sue the person that did this anonymous call.” She added that the individual will be dealt with by herself and sister Hennessy if it happens to be a woman, or Offset will be involved if it ends up being a male who made the call to CPS.
“If you’re a boy, my baby father is gonna beat you the f–k up,” she said. “If you’re a woman, me and Hennessy are gonna beat you the f–k up because you playing with my motherf—–g kids.”

Colman Domingo Poised For Directorial Debut in Sammy Davis Jr. Biopic Film ‘Scandalous’ Starring Rising Stars David Jonsson and Sydney Sweeney
Colman Domingo is on fire. Academy Award nominee of Rustin acclaim is poised to make his directorial debut with Scandalous, a film that delves into the passionate yet turbulent love affair between Sammy Davis Jr. and actress Kim Novak. A film about Davis Jr. is long overdo in Hollywood and for Domingo to direct is a double win for the culture.
Get this, the film will star David Jonsson and Sydney Sweeney in the lead roles, with production set to begin after Domingo and Sweeney finish shooting Season 3 of Euphoria. The project, produced by Miramax, was initially conceived before Jon Glickman became CEO of the company and had Janet Mock attached to direct with Jeremy Pope slated to play Davis. Matthew Fantaci wrote the screenplay.
Sydney Sweeney is deeply involved in the project and played a key role in piecing it together.
Here’s insight into the story of the film which recounts the real-life romance between Davis, a member of the Rat Pack, and Novak, the star of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo:
“Novak, star of Vertigo and Rat Pack member Davis Jr were at the peak of star power when they met while guests on The Steve Allen Show. They fell hard for each other, but as rumors spread, the rampant racism in America threatened to derail their careers. Novak experience the ire of Harry Cohn, the Columbia Pictures chief who had the actress under contract. Their covert affair became big news when a Chicago gossip columnist in early 1958 wrote a detailed account of their relationship, including their plans to marry. This despite their denials. Davis Jr nine days later married a Black chorus girl named Loray White.”
David Jonsson, who plays Sammy Davis Jr., brings significant momentum to the project after a string of successful performances. Jonsson’s career has been on the rise, especially after his recent role in Alien Romulus, a film that garnered him widespread attention for his portrayal in the summer blockbuster sci-fi thriller. He has been lauded as intense and gripping, establishing him as a versatile actor capable of tackling complex roles. This experience has positioned Jonsson as a strong lead for Scandalous, where he will take on the challenge of embodying the legendary entertainer Davis, whose life was often caught between public acclaim and personal struggles.
Domingo, who also stars alongside Sweeney in Euphoria, is no stranger to powerful storytelling, but Scandalous marks his first foray behind the camera. With a story that touches on fame, forbidden love, and racial tensions in mid-century America, Domingo’s directorial debut is highly anticipated and is expected to offer a fresh take on a lesser-known chapter of Davis’s life.

Girl Scouts To Raise Membership Dues Over The Next Two Years To Combat Financial Loss
After eight years, the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) raised its annual membership fees over the next two years. The increase will raise the current $25 fee to $45 in 2026 and then to $65 by 2027. The National Council Session approved the 106% raise to decrease the organization’s debt and ensure its sustainability.
As of now, GSUSA is facing a possible $5 million net operating loss for this fiscal year, which could be one of the causes for the membership fee raise. In fact, according to the organization, this effort will help GSUSA avoid discontinuing or reducing its services and programs. By making this change, GSUSA hopes to improve its finances to ensure girls’ empowerment across the country continues.
“Girl Scouting must invest today to better serve our current members and to reach girls who are currently missing out on the Girl Scout experience,” a document shared on the organization’s website read.
Despite the significant increase, GSUSA is committed to ensuring that they can provide financial assistance to all volunteers and girls so they can participate in the organization. To maintain the affordability of the programs, GSUSA will only raise its adult membership fee from $25 to $30 next year.
“This investment provides GSUSA with the opportunity to implement initiatives that will have a lasting impact on our Girl Scout councils, volunteers, and the girls and families we serve,” a spokesperson for the organization said.
Nonetheless, if you’re unaware, the bulk of the Girl Scouts’ revenue is from their iconic cookies, which typically bring in an estimated $800 million annually and funds local councils. Each troop decides how its earnings are spent, often going towards funding troop activities, community service projects, and supplies. On the other hand, the membership fees support the national-level programs and administrative operations.
