#RHOA: Angela Oakley ‘About To Go to War’ Amid Porsha Williams Drama
Angela Oakley has been an excellent addition to Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and throw some shade. Of course, when Porsha Williams made some remarks about Angela’s beloved husband, Charles Oakley, Angela wasn’t going to stand for it. And she set out to hold Porsha accountable.
During Porsha’s Nashville birthday trip, during a late-night party by the pool, Porsha made a comment about having sex with Charles. Well, that made Angela furious. When she returned from the trip, she filled in her former NBA star husband on what transpired.

“I hear Porsha, Brit [Eady], Kelli [Ferrell], and Shamea [Morton] talking about you. How you are messing with a girl in New York. Let me tell you what all [Porsha] had to say about you, like you’re just so easy to f*ck,” Angela stated. “Anybody she f*ck Charles. She could f*ck you.”
She continued, “So, I said, ‘Hey, Porsha, I hear you talking about me, talking about my husband. You got anything to say?’ And she politely gets her ass the f*ck up out of there because it got real, real fast.” Angela added, “I’m about to go to war.”

During the same episode, Cynthia Bailey threw a Juneteenth party. She tried to broker peace by putting Porsha and Angela in a quiet room to resolve their issues. When Angela confronted Porsha about her comment that she could have sex with Charles, Porsha denied saying it.

However, Porsha later admitted in her confessional that she made the dig to be shady and funny. Finally, both ladies apologized and agreed to move forward. But with other people in the group, like Brit, repeating rumors that Charles is cheating, it’s only a matter of time before Angela sets the Atlanta peaches straight.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sunday nights at 8/7c on Bravo and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.

#MusicNews: Leela James Shares New Song ‘Right on Time’!

Soul vocalist Leela James has returned with her new single “Right On Time.” Produced by frequent collaborator Rex Rideout, “Right On Time” finds James singing about a love that sweeps her off her feet at the perfect moment. It speaks to the constant nature of love, always finding us even when we least expect it.

“The way you give good love to me is right on time / And I was just about to give on up, but you came right on time,” she belts in the chorus.
“Right On Time” follows Leela James’ “Whatcha Done Now (Remix)” with Kenyon Dixon, released in August 2024. She told Rated R&B, “Kenyon added another layer of seasoning sauce to the Soul of this record and it made for the perfect soulful R&B recipe.”

The original version of “Whatcha Done Now” is lifted from James’ 2023 album, Thought U Knew.
The album spawned the hit single “Right Back In It,” which reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. James later teamed with Kevin Ross for a remix of “Right Back In It.”

In June, James will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, A Change Is Gonna Come, named after Sam Cooke’s iconic song that she also covered on the project. The album also included her debut single, “Music,” produced by The Avila Brothers.

#HipHopNews: Kanye West’s ‘Donda 2’ Debuts With Ye's Lowest First-Week Sales Ever!
Kanye West officially released DONDA 2 on streaming platforms for the first time – leading to what stands as the lowest first-week sales in his career.
Released on Tuesday (April 29), the effort was put out under a new Spotify account and days after the full tracking week goes into effect for new music. There’s also his recent controversies which has turned many fans away – resulting in a meager 5.9k units sold.

Had it been released the prior Friday, forecasts say it would have done around 21k, which is still vastly lower than anything Ye has ever put out.

The project originally arrived in February 2022, but West shunned a traditional release and fans could only listen to the album if they bought a Stem Player. Ye’s ‘DONDA 2’ officially sells 5.9K units first week 📊 With a full tracking week, it would’ve been on pace to sell around 21K units. pic.twitter.com/vhSbqfYe7h
The album largely remains the same from the version that could be heard on the Stem Player however there are some notable differences.
West’s controversial collaboration with The Game titled “Eazy” has been axed completely from the album while there is a new joint with Future on the project called “Mr Miyagi”, which also features vocals from Playboi Carti.

“530” also appeared on Ty Dolla $ign joint project Vultures 2 in a relatively unfinished state but the song has been tidied up by West for DONDA 2.
Other artists to feature on DONDA 2 include Travis Scott, Jack Harlow, XXXTENTACION, Baby Keem and Alicia Keys.
West also kept the same artwork from the initial drop on his Stem Player which features a picture of the rapper’s childhood home on fire.
In other news, Kanye West also recently announced plans to drop his previously unreleased album Yandhi.

Originally planned for release in 2018, West later turned the project into his gospel-inspired album Jesus is King, though various Yandhi leaks have made their way onto the internet over the years.
Other tracks such as “Hurricane” and “We Got Love” were also repurposed for other projects, while “New Body” was supposed to feature on Vultures but Nicki Minaj refused to clear her verse.

However, West’s livestream from Spain has revealed that he still plans on putting the album out.
He said:  “We gotta release Yandhi,” though he didn’t provide further details.

Rihanna Is Pregnant, Expecting Third Child With Partner A$AP Rocky!

Rihanna is pregnant with baby number three! In behind-the-scenes footage recorded and shared by WWD, the singer’s baby bump is on full display ahead of her appearance at tonight’s Met Gala. This will be the star’s third child with longtime partner A$AP Rocky.

The Savage X Fenty founder shares sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, with rapper A$AP Rocky, who is a Met Gala co-chair this year. The theme is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Other co-chairs include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, and Pharrell Williams, with LeBron James being named an honorary co-chair — even while he’s been forced to pull out of the event due to an injury.

Rihanna is a staple at the Met Gala, attending the 2023 event while pregnant with youngest son, Riot. Soon, we will see how she approaches this year’s theme, “Tailored for You,” while with child

#PETTYONCE: Beyoncé drops The Sphere and picks up Allegiant Stadium after Cease and Decease Order
If The Sphere doesn’t want to be in business with Beyoncé, Beyoncé certainly doesn’t want to be in business with The Sphere. Last week, CEO of Sphere Entertainment James Dolan sent Cowboy Carter a cease and desist for depicting herself, as a towering giant, lifting the Las Vegas concert venue off the ground in one of her tour visuals. Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment was quick to respond, covering up The Sphere with a depiction of Allegiant Stadium instead. You can check out a clip of the new version, shared by Parkwood, on Instagram here. The caption reads, “What happens in Vegas starts with a BANG.”

Dolan’s issue with the “Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour” visual was not just that he hadn’t authorized Beyoncé to use The Sphere, but also that the image made it seem like she would be performing there at the end of her tour. It was previously reported that the singer was in talks to end with a Sphere residency, but it didn’t pan out. Instead, Beyoncé is closing out her U.S. performances at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada—thus the hasty and slightly janky-looking replacement.

The cease and desist always seemed like a shortsighted overreaction, particularly since being commemorated in such a way put the Las Vegas Sphere on par with much older, more iconic landmarks that giant Beyoncé encounters in the tour visual, including the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and the Hollywood sign. We can only speculate that the breakdown of talks for Beyoncé’s performance at The Sphere resulted in bad blood between Dolan and Beyoncé. The language of the letter (“Beyoncé—many orders of magnitude larger than the Sphere venue—leans over, picks up the venue, and looms over it”) implies Dolan felt Beyoncé was mocking the building by lifting it in her giant, godlike hands. Swapping it out for Allegiant Stadium definitely feels like a taunt, but no one can say she didn’t comply with the legal threat.

SINNERS Box Office Continues To Surpass Expectations, Now Aiming for $400 Million+ Worldwide
At this point, can anything slow down Sinners? Even with Thunderbolts* out, Coogler's hit film raked in another $43M+ worldwide!
The film is a clear example that even the experts sometimes get it wrong, as there were questions about the film's profitability during its first weekend of release.
Another fact in the film's favor is that it will be returning to IMAX theaters after Thunderbolts* concludes its two-week run on the specialty format screens.

If Sinners continues to post minimal week-to-week drop-offs, it's on pace to end its theatrical run just shy of—or possibly surpassing—the $400 million global mark.
That’s a remarkable turnaround, especially given early industry chatter suggesting the R-rated horror film, with its $90 million production budget, wouldn’t be profitable despite glowing reviews.

With a breakeven point estimated around $230 million, Sinners is now poised to leave that figure far behind.
Touted as the first must-see film of 2025, Sinners continues to exceed expectations, with its final box office total still difficult to pin down as it defies traditional trends.

Mo’Nique taunts Shannon Sharpe about sex scandal

Comedienne Mo’Nique reiterated on stage that she warned Shannon Sharpe to stay away from young White girls. And if you viewed her on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast last year, she did just that.

The caustic comic made an appearance on Katt Williams’ “Heaven on Earth” tour stop in Columbia, S.C., on Sunday when she made the auditorium explode with this scathing one liner:
Mo’Nique says ‘I told you so’ “Yes, I told that n—a Shannon Sharpe, leave them white b—-s alone,” she barked.
Fans of Mo’Nique remember the Soul Plane star admonishing the NFL Hall of Famer, who was working on ESPN’s “First Take,” for chasing after young women in general.

Mo’Nique told Shannon Sharpe to date older women
“You better take your old a– and get somebody that love you,” she instructed Sharpe last year.
“Shannon need him old fat gal who can bake good cakes,” Mo’Nique continued. “Make some smothered turkey wings, who going to rub his feet at the night time… and going to have a sip of his cognac to make him feel better about himself when he come home at night.”
Sharpe laughed uncomfortably and shifted in his seat on the couch as Mo’Nique continued to lay into him.

“You don’t need no 26-year-old girl, you don’t need no 36-year-old girl… take your a– and get you old b—h out there that can love you old…You’re trying to hang out with these young b***es, and you can’t do it.”
Shannon Sharpe had to step down from ESPN after the scandal broke
Sharpe was humiliated on a national scale in April 2025, when the 20-year-old woman, who was identified only as “Jane Doe,” filed a $50 million lawsuit alleging sexual assault on two occasions along with physical violence.
The former Denver Broncos tight end exacerbated the debacle when his legal team alerted the media that Sharpe offered $10 million during negotiations to make the situation go away. But Jane Doe turned down the offer and instead turned to famed attorney Tony Buzbee to try to get five times that amount.

The Houston-based Buzbee is known for the class-action lawsuit filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, though the latter suit was famously dismissed.
In response, Sharpe has vehemently and categorically denied Ms. Doe’s allegations. He dismissed the civil suit as a “shakedown” and “extortion attempt,” and plans to file a countersuit against Ms. Doe and Buzbee.
However, the case is so explosive and salacious that Sharpe was forced to take an indefinite hiatus from “First Take.” He claims he will return to the popular morning sports show during the NFL preseason in August 2025. It remains to be seen if his indeterminate moratorium will become a permanent separation from ESPN.

Tamar Braxton thrills fans with new MTV hosting gig
The multitalented performer takes on relationship deception in a daring new reality series premiering this summer.
The comeback we’ve been waiting for Reality television is about to get a major shake-up as Tamar Braxton steps into her new role as host of MTV’s newest addition to their reality lineup. The Grammy-nominated singer and television personality will lead “Caught in the Act: Double Life,” a spinoff that promises to deliver all the drama, revelations, and emotional moments viewers crave.

Set to premiere on June 3, this addition to MTV’s “Caught in the Act” franchise will focus on people who suspect their partners are living secret double lives. Each episode follows Braxton and her investigative team as they uncover hidden truths that could potentially destroy relationships.

The premise of “Caught in the Act: Double Life” taps into universal fears about trust and betrayal. When someone suspects their partner is hiding something major, the emotional stakes couldn’t be higher.
What sets this show apart is how it transforms voyeuristic reality TV into something with genuine emotional weight. Rather than simply exposing lies for entertainment value, the series explores the deeper impact of deception on relationships.

Each episode follows a unique story where suspicions lead to investigations. As truths come to light, participants must make difficult decisions about their relationships. The format allows viewers to witness both the investigative process and the emotional aftermath when secrets are revealed.
Braxton brings authenticity and personal experience to her hosting duties. As the youngest member of the famous Braxton family, she’s no stranger to life in the spotlight. Her career journey includes chart-topping hits like “Love and War” and multiple Grammy nominations that showcased her vocal talents.

Television audiences know Braxton from her appearances on “Braxton Family Values,” where she quickly became a fan favorite for her unfiltered personality and quick wit. Her reality TV credentials include making history as the first Black woman to win “Celebrity Big Brother,” demonstrating her ability to connect with audiences in unscripted formats.

What makes Braxton particularly suited for this hosting role is her willingness to be vulnerable about her own relationship experiences. Throughout her public life, she’s been open about personal struggles and heartbreaks, creating a foundation of credibility as she guides others through their own relationship revelations.
The show comes from Antoinette Media with a production team including Lashan Browning, Donna Edge-Rachell, Paris Bauldwin and Rich Allen. This experienced team aims to create compelling television that resonates emotionally with viewers while delivering the dramatic moments reality TV fans expect.

The production balances investigative elements with emotional depth, creating a show that doesn’t just expose secrets but examines the human cost of deception. By focusing on real people facing real betrayals, “Caught in the Act: Double Life” elevates beyond typical reality fare.
Each episode follows a similar structure but features unique stories of suspected deception. Participants work with Braxton and her team to investigate their suspicions, ultimately confronting the truth—whatever it may be.

The emotional journey takes center stage as participants move from suspicion to confirmation and finally to decisions about their relationships. Some may choose forgiveness, others separation, but all must face difficult truths about their partners and themselves.
Braxton serves as both host and emotional guide, helping participants process their discoveries and consider their options. Her own experiences with public relationships make her an empathetic presence during these vulnerable moments.
This hosting role represents another chapter in Braxton‘s evolving career. After gaining fame alongside her sisters in the 1990s, she carved out her own path in music and television. Her solo career produced hits that showcased her distinctive voice and emotional depth.

Throughout her career shifts, Braxton has maintained her authentic personality—bold, funny, and unapologetically herself. Her willingness to share personal struggles has created a deep connection with fans who appreciate her honesty.

The MTV hosting gig allows Braxton to leverage her natural charisma and relatability in a format that plays to her strengths. As host, she can showcase her ability to connect with people during emotional moments while maintaining the entertainment value viewers expect.
In an era of dating apps, social media facades, and increasingly complex relationships, the concept of double lives feels particularly relevant. The show taps into contemporary anxieties about authenticity and trust in relationships.

The series explores important questions: How well can we truly know another person? What secrets are forgivable? How do we rebuild trust after deception? These universal themes make the show relatable even for viewers who haven’t experienced such extreme betrayals.

By focusing on real people facing real consequences, “Caught in the Act: Double Life” offers more than just entertainment—it provides a window into human psychology and relationship dynamics that continues to fascinate audiences.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT when “Caught in the Act: Double Life” premieres on MTV. The combination of compelling stories, emotional revelations, and Tamar Braxton’s charismatic hosting promises to make this new series a standout addition to the reality television landscape.

The show represents a perfect marriage between Braxton’s talents and a format that allows for both drama and genuine emotional connections. As participants confront difficult truths about their relationships, viewers will be along for every shocking discovery and heartfelt moment.
In a television landscape crowded with reality offerings, “Caught in the Act: Double Life” distinguishes itself by balancing entertainment value with emotional authenticity. With Tamar Braxton at the helm, this new MTV series is positioned to become must-see television for reality fans and relationship drama enthusiasts alike.

Diddy Admits ‘I’m A Little Nervous’ Ahead Of S*x Trafficking Trial

On the first day of his trial, hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs showed a rare moment of vulnerability in court. As the defense requested a bathroom break, Judge Subramanian suggested waiting until more jurors were questioned.

Diddy then raised his hand and said, “Sorry, your honor. I’m a little nervous today.” The judge granted the break shortly after.
The moment, first reported by Exclusive Deets, who was in the courtroom on the opening day of the trial, highlighted the tense atmosphere surrounding the high-profile case.

His ex-girlfriend, Cassie, is scheduled to be the star witness in the s*x trafficking trial.

Halle Berry Says Her Historic Oscar Win Wasn’t a Turning Point—Urges Black Actresses to Stop Coveting Awards ‘Not Designed for Us’

Halle Berry stands alone in Oscar history even after more than two decades since her groundbreaking win.
The trailblazing actress now sees her 2002 Academy Award as more of an outlier than a watershed moment for Black women in Hollywood.

In the nearly 100-year history of the prestigious ceremony, Berry remains the only Black woman to claim the Best Actress Award, a distinction that has led her to profound reflection in the upcoming Apple TV+ documentary “Number One on the Call Sheet.”
Berry’s reflections come amid continued disappointment over the lack of recognition for Black women in leading roles, with only 15 Black actresses ever nominated in the category throughout the Academy’s history.

Her win for “Monster’s Ball” initially seemed to signal a turning point, but the subsequent two decades have challenged that optimism.
“It’s forced me to ask myself, did it matter? Did it really change anything for women of color? For my sisters? For our journey?” Berry questions in the documentary, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The veteran actress points to the 2021 Academy Awards as a particularly revealing moment, when both Andra Day and Viola Davis were nominated for their biopic performances in “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” respectively.
Berry recalls feeling “100 percent sure” that one of them would take home the award that year.
“For equally different and beautiful reasons, they both deserved it, and I thought for sure,” she says.
However, the Oscar ultimately went to Frances McDormand for “Nomadland,” marking her third win in the category.
This outcome prompted Berry to reconsider the fundamental nature of the awards system.

“The system is not really designed for us, and so we have to stop coveting that which is not for us,” she concludes. “Because at the end of the day, it’s ‘How do we touch the lives of people?’ and that fundamentally is what art is for.”
The documentary also features other prominent Black actresses expressing similar frustrations.
Whoopi Goldberg, who won Best Supporting Actress for “Ghost” in 1990, questions the persistent lack of recognition.
She said, “Wait a minute, none of us were good enough? Nobody? In all of these people, nobody?… What are we missing here? This is a conversation people have every year.”

Taraji P. Henson offers her insight into the industry’s perspective, suggesting a systemic bias against seeing Black women as leads.
“I don’t think the industry really sees us as leads, you know?” she says. “They give us supporting [actress awards] like they give out candy canes. That just — I don’t know what to do with that. Because what are you saying to me?”
This sentiment echoes the experience of Mo’Nique, who won Best Supporting Actress for “Precious” in 2009 but claimed her career suffered afterward.
Unlike Berry’s focus on systemic issues, Mo’Nique has pointed to personal betrayals within the industry, particularly from filmmakers Lee Daniels, Tyler Perry, and Oprah Winfrey.

“What I understood was that when I won that Oscar, things would change in all the ways you’re saying: It should come with more respect, more choices and more money. It should, and it normally does,” Mo’Nique told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015.
She recounted a conversation with Daniels, who allegedly told her she’d been “blackballed” because she “didn’t play the game.”
Mo’Nique’s situation highlights a complex dynamic where even recognition can lead to career challenges.

“When you know the history of Hattie McDaniel, when you know the history of Eartha Kitt … when you know the history of these women that gave everything, and the moment they said something ain’t right, they became difficult, they were blackballed,” she stated in a 2020 interview with Claudia Jordan.

After years of public conflict, Mo’Nique and Daniels have recently reconciled, collaborating on the Netflix film “The Deliverance,” set for release in August 2024.
Daniels publicly apologized to Mo’Nique in 2022, saying, “I am so sorry for hurting you in any way.”
At the same time, Henson says that Perry, who is also a powerful Hollywood movie broker, has paid her more and provided more opportunities than anyone else in the industry.
As Berry’s comments and Mo’Nique’s journey illustrate, the relationship between Black actresses and Hollywood’s highest honors remains complicated.

While the Oscars may represent the pinnacle of recognition in the industry, both women suggest that true artistic fulfillment might lie elsewhere — whether in touching audiences’ lives or creating work independently of an awards system that has historically overlooked Black women’s contributions in leading roles.

Don Lemon & Wendy Williams Reportedly Plotting TV Comeback as a Duo
In a twist that could shake up the daytime TV landscape, insiders say Don Lemon and Wendy Williams are seriously exploring a new project together. According to sources close to the two former television powerhouses, the pair are considering teaming up for a joint return to the spotlight.
“They are great friends,” said one insider. “They are serious about teaming up for a new project. Don and Wendy both have big personalities and love the idea of shaking things up on TV again.”

Both Lemon and Williams are no strangers to controversy or attention. Don Lemon’s unexpected CNN exit earlier this year came after 17 years with the network. Wendy Williams, meanwhile, stepped away from her long-running daytime talk show in 2022 due to ongoing health issues. While both have remained largely out of the public eye in recent months, this reported collaboration signals a bold potential return.

Industry insiders say the concept for the new show is still under wraps, but the energy behind it is strong. “This would be the ultimate comeback. Both Don and Wendy have something to prove—and nothing to lose,” the source added.
Whether the project becomes a new talk show, streaming series, or something entirely different, one thing’s for sure: if these two media veterans reunite, audiences can expect unfiltered opinions, headline-making moments, and plenty of entertainment.

Stay tuned—this comeback might just be louder than ever.

Xfinity Mobile Replaces Wells Fargo For Philly Arena Naming Rights

The home of the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers is getting a new name: Xfinity Mobile Arena.
The team’s owners, Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, announced the new moniker today, and it goes into effect Sept. 1. Signage will be revealed the following day, and it will kick off an Xfinity Mobile Arena week where fans can experience the technological advances in the building.

The deal runs through the 2030-31 season, after which a new co-owned arena is scheduled to open. Financial details were not disclosed.
“It’s a perfect marriage of the two Philadelphia icons coming together,” Matt Lederer, head of brand partnerships and activations at Comcast, said in a phone interview.

Comcast Spectacor and Xfinity are both owned by media, entertainment and communications giant Comcast. Lederer said the negotiations with a sister brand were not different from other properties, but being a part of the same company provides an opportunity for increased amplification.

The deal highlights the renewed partnership between Comcast Spectacor and HBSE, which battled in recent years over HBSE’s plans to build a new arena in downtown Philadelphia.
In January, the 76ers dropped plans for a an arena in Center City to partner with Comcast for a new venue in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, where the teams currently play and which also houses the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles and MLB’s Philadelphia Phillies. Comcast controls the naming rights in the new building, but Lederer said no decisions have been made if the new building will have Comcast or Xfinity on the outside.

The 76ers are a tenant in the current Comcast-owned arena, but they will be a 50-50 partner in the new venue. Comcast also took a minority stake in the 76ers and is partnering with HBSE to help bring a WNBA team to the city. The Sixers will share in the economics of the new Xfinity partnership—the NBA team did not have a sponsorship deal with Wells Fargo.

Xfinity Mobile launched in 2017 and has 8.1 million subscribers. It is one of the fastest-growing wireless services in the U.S., but it’s small compared to the biggest services—AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon—which all have over 100 million customers.
“It’s a young brand,” Lederer said. “The awareness that a naming rights partnership provides you, not just in the city of the teams in the venue, but also outside, especially with a venue like this, where there are NBA and NHL teams that come through, is extremely important.”
The Flyers and 76ers both missed the playoffs this season, but it was still a record revenue year for the arena, fueled by the $400 million renovation project completed in 2024 and a busy concert schedule. The building hosts 220 events a year with 2.5 million fans.

“Especially this year, where we had our sea legs so to speak, we were able to see improvements across the board from food and beverage to retail to events,” Todd Glickman, Flyers’ chief revenue and business officer, said in a phone interview.
Wells Fargo Center was originally christened as CoreStates Center when it opened in 1996 and evolved during a series of bank mergers to First Union Center in 1998, Wachovia Center in 2003, and then Wells in 2010. The original deal required a typewriter with Wite-Out, according to Glickman—those under 30 can Google both those things.

Last year, Wells Fargo said it would not renew its naming rights partnership when it expired in August 2025, saying it “regularly reviews and adjusts our overall sponsorship strategy.” Glickman said they started the new naming rights search more than 18 months ago and settled on Xfinity after sorting through national, local and regional brands.
Comcast worked with its sports marketing agency of record, GMR, on the deal. Comcast Spectacor did everything in house.

Beyoncé, Mathew Knowles and more give Tina Knowles her flowers after "Matriarch" becomes New York Times bestseller
After providing support for some of the most powerful figures in entertainment, Tina Knowles is now front and center. On Thursday (May 1), it was revealed that her memoir, “Matriarch,” officially landed at No. 1 on The New York Times bestsellers list. Published just ahead of Mother’s Day, the book is a deeply personal reflection on motherhood, family, fame and resilience — and it’s striking a powerful chord with readers across generations.

Tina Knowles receives praise From Beyoncé, Solange and more during book tour
The book’s Washington, D.C. tour stop, moderated by none other than Michelle Obama, began with a surprise video featuring heartfelt messages from daughters Beyoncé and Solange. “You’ve always been number one in our book,” said Solange, while Beyoncé added, “This is well-deserved.” For a woman who’s spent decades pouring into others (from managing Destiny’s Child to raising two globally impactful children), the public affirmation was more than a celebration. It was a full-circle moment.

Tina herself described writing “Matriarch” as “like having a baby,” a process filled with both fear and vulnerability. “It’s so personal and sacred to you that you want people to love it,” she explained in a statement, per The Washington Post.

Matriarch reveals family secrets, Beyoncé’s name origin and cancer journey
Knowles also used the memoir to open up about her upbringing in segregated Galveston, TX, the complexities of her decades-long marriage to Mathew Knowles, and the trials she’s weathered as a mother and creative. She detailed infidelity, reconciliation and eventual divorce with raw honesty — even describing a time when she briefly rekindled her romance with Mathew before closing that chapter for good.
Notably, Mathew publicly congratulated her on the book’s success, a rare and surprisingly warm gesture that added yet another layer to their evolving dynamic. “We are on good terms because we did a good job,” Tina shared in an interview for “Gayle King in the House.”

Beyond family dynamics, the memoir delved into painful moments, like Tina’s helplessness during the cruel conspiracy theories surrounding Beyoncé’s pregnancy, or her private battle with breast cancer, during which Beyoncé moved her into her home to care for her. Additionally, the book dropped unexpected gems, like how Beyoncé’s name was a “beautiful mistake” born from a misspelled birth certificate.
