#MAGFAB: Arnold & Patrick Schwarzenegger for Variety Magazines 'Actors on Actors'
In a new conversation for VARIETY’s “Actors on Actors” issue, father-son duo Arnold and Patrick Schwarzenegger discuss Patrick’s on-screen nudity in “The White Lotus,” Arnold attempting to dispute his iconic “I’ll Be Back” line with James Cameron, how carrying the Schwarzenegger name can be an obstacle for Patrick, the public’s perception of Patrick’s “The White Lotus” character, the career advice Carrie Coon gave him, and more.
Arnold and Patrick on Arnold’s reaction to Patrick’s on-screen nudity in “The White Lotus”:
Arnold: “‘Terminator’ was the first time that I was doing a film that had nothing to do with the muscles. It was with leather jackets on and being a machine. Only the opening scene was naked. But I’m talking about naked.”

Patrick: “I’ve done it.”
Arnold: “I couldn’t believe [it]. I said to myself, ‘I’m watching your show, and I’m watching your butt sticking out there.’ And all of a sudden, I see the weenie. What is going on here? This is crazy. Then I said to myself, ‘Well, Arnold, hello. You did the same thing in “Conan” and “Terminator,” so don’t complain about it.’ But it was a shock to me that you were following my footsteps so closely.
Arnold on how he disputed his famous “I’ll be back” line with “The Terminator” director James Cameron:
“I would say, ‘I don’t like the line “I’ll be back.”’ He says, ‘What do you mean you don’t like the line?’ I said, ‘It’s just weird for a German to say, “I’ll be back.” Why not just say, “I will be back”?’…He says, ‘Oh, you’re trying to tell me how to be a better writer, because I’m not telling you to be a better actor. Just say, “I’ll be back.” If you want me to do 10 takes because you feel insecure about it, we can do that. But don’t change my writing.’”
Arnold and Patrick on how carrying the Schwarzenegger name was an obstacle for Patrick:
Patrick: “I feel it in multiple different ways. Mike White said that it comes with baggage, the idea that when you have successful parents like I do with you and Mom, there’s an added level of what other people think. Mike was worried about, if he cast me, what other people would think. Which they did—they did care about that; people said I got the role because of you and Mom. There were times earlier in my career where I was wondering, does it make sense to go under an alias? It took a while for me to get to a point where I was less worried about living in your shadow versus wanting to do it the way I thought I should do it.”
Arnold: “I’m glad you kept the name, because now I can take credit. You joined a very short list of people: You know, Jamie Lee Curtis—I think she’s one of the greatest actors in history. If you show you have the substance, you can get rid of the whole idea of nepotism.”
Patrick: “I understand how hard you and Mom have worked throughout your life to give me the opportunities that I’ve had. The biggest advice you gave us kids is to work hard. I’ve tried to honor that.”

Patrick and Arnold on the public’s perception of Patrick’s character from “The White Lotus”:
Patrick: “One of the best parts about being on the show is the amount of people that get to recognize [my] work; I’ve done so many shows that not so many people have seen.”
Arnold: “Now everyone is coming up to me in the gym and saying, ‘Your son is fantastic.’ Someone else comes up to me and says, ‘I hated your son in the series.’”
Patrick: “That was the weird part.”
Arnold: “Hated him? What kind of a compliment is that? They said, ‘He was fantastic, but the character he played was so believable.’”
Patrick: “The biggest learning experience is how much people associate you with your character. I don’t know how much that happened to you over the course of your career—maybe with ‘The Terminator.’ The first weeks, people came up to me and told me how much they hated me. By the end of it, they came up to me saying how much they felt bad for me. It was a roller coaster.”
Patrick on the career advice “The White Lotus” co-star Carrie Coon gave him:
“Carrie Coon came up to me a few weeks ago and was like, ‘Honey, you’ve got to do a different role next, because you’re doing a really good job at playing a douchebag, and people believe it.’”
Patrick on Arnold taking him out school to go to his movie sets:
“Aimee Lou [Wood] asked me, ‘Where did you first get interested in acting?’ And I was like, ‘It was heaven for a kid, going to a movie set with your dad.’ You would pick me up and take me out of school early in your Hummer…You’d come pick me up early and you’d walk in as Dad, go into the trailer, come out as Mr. Freeze or the Terminator. We would be in the trailer, and during your breaks, we could walk into craft services, get some Red Vines, and we would take the golf cart and go to the E.T. ride. We talked about this idea of nepotism, but when you grow up and your parents do a specific job, it makes sense that you go and work in that world.”
Arnold and Patrick on how Patrick and his siblings hated when Arnold became Governor of California:
Arnold: “…in 2003, as you remember, I ran for governor and became governor, which you guys…”
Patrick: “…hated.”
Arnold: “It was the funniest thing. You coming to me and saying, ‘Dad, we had so much fun going to the set and watching you blow things up. And now…’”
Patrick: “…we go to the Capitol.”
Arnold: “All of you were rebelling.”
Arnold on how he stayed persistent in the early days of his acting career:
“When I came to America, Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson were the highest-paid actors, with a million dollars a movie. I said, ‘I’ve got to be part of that.’ Eventually I made $30 million a movie, and I caught up with those guys. Even though everyone says, ‘Arnold, it’s never going to happen. Your name—Schnitzel or whatever it is—no one will remember, and you’re too big now.’ In the ’70s, it’s Dustin Hoffman and Al Pacino, Woody Allen—those are the big stars of the day. ‘They weigh 140 pounds, and look at you, 250, like a monster.’ I was discouraged; everything was impossible. But I had a clear vision of myself being up on top. That’s all I cared about. And so I climbed that ladder slowly.”
Arnold on auditioning for Lucille Ball:
“She called me at Gold’s Gym. I, of course, had no idea what reading for a movie was all about.”

#RHOA: #TWIRL What's The Tea? Kenya Moore Reacts to RHOA All-Time Low Ratings After Phaedra Parks Returns
Fans were hoping that Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta would be a return to the good old days. Porsha Williams returned to claim her peach, and Shamea Morton stepped into the spotlight. However, Kenya Moore exited RHOA after allegedly showing images of co-star Brit Eady performing a sex act. It was just wrong on so many levels. Kenya retaliated after Brit allegedly said that she had a gun.
So, Phaedra Parks returned for the second half of the season. Well, while some fans are enjoying the show, the ratings are telling a different tale.
Is Kenya Moore throwing RHOA shade after low ratings and Phaedra Parks’ comeback?
After Kenya twirled off the show, she hasn’t been quiet about voicing her opinion. Her former friend, Cynthia Bailey, who confronted Kenya for showing the photos at her salon opening, has received plenty of shade. And now it looks like Phaedra, who has happily resumed her place on RHOA, is also a victim of the shade assassin.
So, Bravo Ratings shared RHOA’s ratings for Episode 12. It brought in 0.09 for the desirable 18-49 demographic. This was a series low for the peaches. And, of course, Kenya noticed. When The Bravo Shade Room shared the post on Instagram, Kenya liked it. She also added the double eye emoji to the comments. Yikes.
Of course, this ratings slump could be due to many different factors. And Phaedra’s return could still be positive for the show. As for Kenya’s future on RHOA? While Cynthia is hoping that Kenya returns, it is unclear how Bravo and Kenya feel about it.
“Losing Kenya was hard for me because she’s one of the best to ever do this reality TV thing. She’s a phenomenal Housewife, and in time, I do think she will find her way back. Absolutely,” Cynthia stated.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta continues on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.

#HipHopNews: Lil Wayne To Celebrate 20 Years Of “Carter Classics” With His “Tha Carter VI Tour”
Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter VI Tour” kicks off June 6 at Madison Square Garden and runs through October.
Tyga, NoCap, and Belly Gang Kushington will join select dates on the nationwide run.
The tour celebrates two-plus decades of the ‘Tha Carter’ legacy, with a new album and classic hits in the mix.
Weezy fans, rejoice. There’s plenty more to look forward to than just his one-off show at Madison Square Garden. On Tuesday (June 3), Lil Wayne dropped the official dates for his “Tha Carter VI Tour,” which will kick off with the previously announced MSG date on June 6.
Along for the ride at select shows will be Tyga, NoCap, and Belly Gang Kushington, with the trek running through October 2. Presale tickets go live Wednesday (June 4), while general tickets become available Friday (June 6) at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation. Take a look at the complete tour schedule below.

Wayne’s long-awaited sixth installment in his Tha Carter series is expected to arrive on streaming services on Friday at midnight. Although he hasn’t officially dropped the tracklist yet, fans got a possible preview of what to expect on the road from his The Mix Before Tha VI, which was released last Friday (May 30). The compilation included classics like “Mrs. Officer,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” and “Fireman” — all highlights from Rap-Up’s Best Songs From Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter Albums list.
“I always start Wayne projects or songs like it’s my last day on earth because he is so important to rap, plus he is a real rap-rock star,” Mannie Fresh told Apple Music about putting together the mix. “I try to listen to the records from a DJ point of view as well as a fan [because] I want to make you feel good about new music. I never, ever feel like [I’m] finished because he always [makes] me want to go harder every project.”
As for Tha Carter VI itself, confirmed features include Miley Cyrus, U2 frontman Bono, Wyclef Jean, and Wayne’s son Kameron. The New Orleans legend previously told Rolling Stone that the “one thing” that sets the upcoming album apart is how he experimented with his approach: “Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?” he asked himself.

Lizzo Claims Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Attacks Her Right To Free Speech
Lizzo is appealing the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her by her former dancers, describing the complaint as an “attack” on her “First Amendment right to perform her music and advocate for body positivity.”
The explosive suit, filed in August 2023, accused the “Special” star of sexual harassment, discrimination, and creating a hostile work environment by Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez. While some accusations were dismissed, a judge granted the overall lawsuit to move toward a jury trial. Lizzo’s legal team urged an appeals court to overturn the ruling and dismiss the entire case in a filing last month.
“It is dangerous for the court to weigh in, ham-fisted, into constitutionally protected activity,” Judge Mark H. Epstein wrote. “But it is equally dangerous to turn a blind eye to allegations of discrimination or other forms of misconduct merely because they take place in a speech-related environment.”
Her attorneys suggested that Lizzo’s alleged behavior was part of her “artistic approach.” The filing read, “Plaintiffs’ suit [is] an attack on Lizzo’s First Amendment right to perform her music and advocate for body positivity. Rather than accept personal accountability, plaintiffs filed this shotgun action, taking aim at nearly every facet of Lizzo’s creative process.”
Her legal defense focuses around California’s anti-SLAPP law — a special statute that makes it easier to quickly end lawsuits that threaten free speech, Billboard reports. In an effort to dismiss the case under this law, Lizzo’s attorneys argued the dancers wanted to “silence” Lizzo and “weaponize” her creative expression against her.
One questionable instance in the initial claim was that Lizzo strongly urged for her dancers to attend a cabaret show in Amsterdam’s Red Light District and engage with the nude performers. Yet, her defense claimed that the ordeal was optional and directly tied to her “creative process.”
Lead attorney Marty Singer explained, “There’s no disagreement that Lizzo held these outings as a necessary part of her creative process. Early social gatherings during international tours (like the Bananenbar) are critical to team-building and fostering cohesion.” Lizzo’s defense feels law shouldn’t govern an artist’s creative process.
“Judges must not dissect the creative process to determine what was necessary to achieve the final product and what was not,” said her legal team. “By rejecting the artist’s proven experience for what is necessary to, and best enhances, her own art, the trial court stepped far outside its role.”
Lizzo has denied any wrongdoing, describing the allegation as “false” and “sensationalized.” The Grammy winner noted, “I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”
If Lizzo’s appeal is granted, the case will be dismissed. If the court sides with the plaintiffs, the case will continue toward a jury trial.

Jamie Foxx Says Diddy Accusations Hurt The Black Community

Jamie Foxx isn’t holding back when it comes to Sean “Diddy” Combs and the mountain of legal trouble currently surrounding the music mogul. The Academy Award winning actor and comedian pegged him as “nasty” as part of a recent standup bit.
During an appearance at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Foxx lit into Diddy with a sharp mix of humor and disbelief, taking jabs at the disgraced rapper amid his ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering investigation.
“That Diddy sh*t crazy, huh?” Foxx opened, prompting laughter and humored reactions from the crowd. Referring to the now-infamous 2024 federal raids of Combs’ properties—where agents allegedly confiscated a suspiciously large amount of baby oil—Foxx took the jokes further.
“I don’t know if he’s going to jail but he’s a nasty motherf**ker! Am I right? Especially for our community. White people, it’s cool, but for Black people, like, that was our hero! All that goddamn baby oil, boy.”
Foxx didn’t stop there. He reflected on the cultural impact of Diddy, noting the fall from grace hits harder for the Black community.
“For the Black people in here, you know how that hurts us. ‘Cause Diddy was, ‘It’s all about the Benjamins.’ That was our whole culture. Now, ‘It’s all about the baby oil.’”

This isn’t the first time Foxx has referenced the embattled Bad Boy CEO. In his comedy special What Had Happened Was, Foxx joked about wild internet rumors tying Diddy to his 2023 medical emergency.
“The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that’s what the internet was saying,” he told the audience. “I know what you thinking, ‘Diddy?’ Hell no, I left them parties early.”
Foxx is currently on a run promoting What Had Happened Was and recently appeared in the Netflix comedy Back In Action opposite Cameron Diaz.

Pastor Jamal Bryant Calls On Cardi B To Join Target Boycott After She Shares Photo Of Her Shopping In The Store

Pastor Jamal Bryant is appealing to Cardi B with a message of “love, not judgment,” after the rapper posted a photo of herself shopping at Target.
In a heartfelt Instagram message, Bryant wrote, “Dear @iamcardib, Grace and Peace to you! I come to you with a chest full of love,” urging her to support the boycott against Target for rolling back its DEI efforts under political pressure.
“I felt certain…you were probably unaware,” he said, emphasizing her influence and encouraging her to visit targetfast.org. “Many follow your lead.”
Bryant added, “You should know the movement has support…from the Latino community and more specifically, workers,” noting Cardi’s identity and reach. “This is the most effective boycott since the Montgomery bus boycott.”
Though some applauded the approach, others criticized him for not contacting her privately. Cardi has not yet responded.
Jodie Turner-Smith’s Ex, Actor Joshua Jackson, Makes Emergency Move In Ongoing Custody Battle
The custody battle between Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith is escalating.
Joshua recently filed an emergency motion to keep their 5-year-old daughter Juno at her current school for the 2025–2026 year. He alleges Jodie enrolled Juno in a new kindergarten without his consent and outside their agreed-upon 45-minute commute limit from his home.
The motion states, “Respondent respectfully requests orders ensuring that the minor child continues attending her present school for the next academic year 2025–2026, and for the parents’ joint consent to be required for any subsequent school change.”
Joshua also claims Jodie violated their agreement by not consulting him, and raised concerns about her plan for Juno to rely on tutors and remote learning while she films in London: “Even in the best case it cannot begin to provide a child with the same nurturing and enrichment, peer relationships and social skills that a classroom and school community environment provides.”
The couple recently finalized their divorce, agreeing to joint legal and physical custody with equal timeshares. They are set to return to mediation later this month.

Cynthia Erivo Laughs Off Jesus Christ Superstar Casting Backlash

Three months ago it was announced that Cynthia Erivo had been cast as Jesus Christ in the Hollywood Bowl production of "Jesus Christ Superstar
Cynthia downplays the conservative outrage...
From The Wrap
Cynthia Erivo said she laughed it off when people said it was “blasphemy” to cast her, a Black queer woman, as Jesus Christ in an upcoming Los Angeles production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
“Why not?” the “Wicked” star told Billboard with a shrug. “You can’t please everyone. It is legitimately a three-day performance at the Hollywood Bowl where I get to sing my face off. So hopefully they will come and realize, ‘Oh, it’s a musical, the gayest place on Earth.’ ”
The production, which will run from August 1 through August 3, will also feature Adam Lambert in the choice role of traitor Judas

Brian McKnight Slams Brother Claude Over Niko’s Death Announcement On TikTok

Brian McKnight has taken to social media to blast his brother, Claude McKnight, for publicly announcing the passing of his son, Niko McKnight, on TikTok.
Niko, the son of Brian and Julie McKnight, passed away after a brave and private battle with cancer.
While many fans hoped his passing would be met with grace and healing, the moment quickly turned messy—especially after Brian posted a video slamming both his brother and Niko’s grieving mother.
Sadly, Brian and Niko’s relationship was estranged.
In fact, the R&B singer previously referred to Niko and his siblings, Brian Jr. and Briana, as “products of sin.”
But now that Niko has transitioned to his heavenly home, Brian McKnight is sharing his side of the story—claiming he offered his son top-notch care and the best oncologists, only to be rejected by Niko’s mother.
In a video seemingly filmed during a private memorial with his “new” family, Brian said:
A big, big thanks to Claude McKnight’s tasteless and self-aggrandizing announcement on TikTok that frankly was not his to make.
In my opinion, he inserted himself and used Niko’s death as an opportunity.
Instead of letting him pass with respect and dignity, it has turned into a circus—a mockery of a life now lost—making this tragedy into a reality show-type drama.
While that was unfolding, my family and I flew home to Maui and had a private memorial, remembering him in all the good times.
The last time he and I spoke, we offered him all the help we could provide.
We had the number one oncologist on deck and a team of specialists on standby for private care in our home.
He and his mother declined. The door of communication was open and remained open until his death.
To the self-proclaimed ‘mama bear,’ may God have mercy on your soul for not allowing him to accept that help or use that line of communication.
There is great comfort in knowing God knows the truth and the totality of the whole story.
I’m truly thankful for the immense peace God has given me. I’ve left everything in His hands.
I have a clear conscience. The only judgment that matters is God’s.
My wife, our children, and I are eternally thankful to Almighty God that the suffering has come to an end.
And we’re grateful for all of your condolences.
Brian also captioned the post with a nearly identical message calling out Claude McKnight and expressing gratitude to those who “knew the truth” from the beginning.
“Thanks to those of you who have known the truth from the beginning and haven’t let untruths, half-truths, or slander prejudice your opinion.”
He ended the caption with a Bible verse:
2 Corinthians 1:3 – Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.
The post arrives amid reports that Brian allegedly made no efforts to reach out or reconcile with Niko before his passing—despite now claiming he left the door of communication open.

Madonna Celebrates Dad Silvio Ciccone’s 94th Birthday in Sweet Post: 'Until the Wheels Fall Off'
Madonna is helping her father Silvio Ciccone celebrate his 94th birthday!
The “Material Girl” singer, 66, shared two sweet snaps of her father to X, along with a tribute on Tuesday, June 3.
“Happy Birthday to my Father. Silvio Ciccone, 94 and going strong!!” Madonna, born Madonna Louise Ciccone, wrote.
The first photo she shared was of her standing next to Silvio as he sat at a table and dipped a fork into a slice of cake. Several colorful balloon strings were seen behind the father-daughter duo, as well as a large silver cutout of the number “94.”
“He has survived many wars and many losses in his life.and he still has a sense of humor and a strong desire to get out of bed every morning and make the most of his day,” she wrote.
Madonna’s second photo showed him sitting outside on patio furniture on a sunny day wearing a baseball cap, T-shirt and jeans with suspenders.
“Whenever people ask my father when he’s going to retire, his answer is always the same, ‘I’m going to go until the wheels fall off!!’” she concluded of the Ciccone Vineyard and Winery owner, adding, “S.A.M.E.”
"It’s a shame we do not live in a world that celebrates knowledge and experience and the wisdom that we can only learn from our elders who have survived for many decades on this planet," Madonna added on Instagram, where she also shared the photos. "We are fixated on youth and physical beauty that ironically teaches us nothing and gives us only momentary gratification."

"Good job, Dad!! I’m proud of you and I know Mom is smiling and Happy wherever she is," Madonna wrote. "Thank you for giving me your zero F---- mentality! 💪🏻♥️."
The “Like a Virgin” singer is one of six children, born to Silvio and her late mother, Madonna Louise Ciccone.
“My mother is the only other person I have ever heard of named Madonna,” she told TIME in 1985. “I never had trouble with the name ... I went to Catholic schools. And then when I got involved in the music industry, everybody thought I took it as a stage name. So I let them think that ... It's pretty glamorous.”
Madonna Louise died of breast cancer at 30 on Dec. 1, 1963, when the singer was 5 years old.
In her interview with TIME, the “4 Minutes” singer opened up about her close relationship with her father, adding, “I knew how to wrap him around my finger."

She later told Rolling Stone in 1989 that she cared about making her father proud.
“More than anything, I want my father’s approval, whether I want to admit it or not," Madonna said. "But he’s always been very affectionate with me.”
She also shared a sweet post for her father's 93rd birthday.
"Congratulations for riding the roller coaster of life with humor and sanity intact," Madonna wrote on social media at the time. "Thank you for sharing your mantra in life with me, which is: 'I'm gonna go until the wheels fall off.'"
"Nothing can stop us! Love you to the moon and back. 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🤎🖤🩶🤍❤️🩹," she added along with several photos of herself and her dad over the years.

Lamar Odom Evicted From Studio City Mansion After $45,000 Rent Dispute
Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom has been evicted from his Studio City, California, mansion after failing to pay $45,000 in back rent.
According to a complaint filed by Executive Recovery Group Inc., the 45-year-old agreed verbally in December to sublease the property for $15,000 per month, payable on the first of each month. Court documents state that Odom did not make any of the first three payments, prompting the company to issue a three-day notice demanding the full balance.
When the money was not received, the landlord sought legal action seeking past-due rent, attorney fees, damages, and termination of the lease. The agreement was officially forfeited on March 17, leaving the two-time NBA champion without the residence and facing additional financial penalties. Odom, who helped the Lakers win consecutive titles in 2009 and 2010, has not commented publicly on the lawsuit.
Meanwhile, Odom found the funds to attend Trump’s Crypto Gala.

Michael B. Jordan Reveals Career Advice From Denzel Washington

Michael B. Jordan has long admired Denzel Washington, and in a new interview, he revealed the advice he received from the veteran actor. Speaking with New York Magazine, the 38-year-old explained the lack of selfies on his social media feed at the Fences star’s guidance.
The Sinners actor detailed that he was once asked by Washington, “Why would they pay to see you on a weekend if they see you all week for free?” and that the answer has shaped the way he guards himself on social media. He did, however, allow part of her personal life to be exposed to the public when dating Lori Harvey from 2020 through 2022. The New Jersey native revealed that featuring the model on his social media feed was done without intention.
“There was no real thought behind,” he detailed. “At that moment, I was like, ‘Ah, f**k it, whatever.’”
That does not necessarily mean that intimate footage of Jordan’s life does not exist. He continued to reveal to the publication that seven years ago, he hired a videographer to document his day-to-day life.
“The intent was me feeling like I don’t take in the moments,” he explained. “Because I’m always on the go, always working and grinding. One day I wanted to have something to reflect on outside of the memories in my head.”
He continued to explain why the clips will likely never be consumed by the public, detailing his goal was to create a “family archive” for his relatives such as nieces and nephews to explain “why Uncle Mike is always gone” or show to his “great-grandkids when I’m dead” to “understand a bit of where they come from.”

Joy Reid Urges Black Community to See Through Trump’s Pardons as a Manipulative Tactic
*Political analyst Joy Reid has issued a stark warning to the Black community, urging vigilance in the wake of President Donald Trump’s recent wave of 16 pardons and six commutations, which included rapper NBA YoungBoy, reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, and former Chicago gang leader Larry Hoover.
Speaking with theGrio, Reid described the moves as a calculated effort by the Trump administration to reshape the concept of criminality for political gain. “The Trump regime [or] current administration, whatever you want to call them, is trying to reset and reestablish what criminality means,” she cautioned.
Reid pointed to Trump’s legal history, noting his conviction as a felon on 88 counts in New York, yet he faced no jail time and has since embraced his mug shot as an “iconic image.” She argued that his pardons, including those for individuals involved in the January 6 insurrection, aim to frame such actions as “patriotism” rather than crime. Similarly, by pardoning those convicted of fraud, Trump suggests corruption is not criminal, she said.
On Hoover’s commutation, despite his remaining in prison, Reid called it a “message pardon,” explaining, “[Trump] is going to try to send a message, I do believe, to our community, to say, ‘Look at this. I’m going to pardon someone who’s been referenced in hip hop. Now you need to love me.’” She urged, “We shouldn’t be fooled by that.”
Reid contrasted these actions with the administration’s treatment of Rep. LaMonica McIver, a Black congresswoman recently charged with assault after defending Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a 70-year-old Black colleague, from ICE agents during an oversight visit at a New Jersey immigration center. The agents were there to arrest Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, also present for oversight.
Reid decried the criminalization of McIver’s duty, stating, “The idea that you criminalize oversight, which Representative McIver is obliged to do… to say that her attempt to do oversight over a private prison… is a crime.”
She concluded, “This attempt to shift the idea of criminality… onto the people who are trying to enforce the law and enforce the Constitution… That’s a dangerous message to send in a society that’s supposed to be bound by the rule of law.”

Over $92K raised for 'The Wire' actor as his son recovers after tornado struck home
The son of "The Wire" actor Tray Chaney, whose Georgia home was wiped out in a tornado last week, is on the "road to recovery," his father said.
Chaney's family home, located in Locust Grove, approximately 37 miles from Atlanta, was built in 2020. On May 29, it was struck by a reported EF-2 tornado, leaving behind debris, and Chaney and his son, Malachi, were hospitalized.
"I lost my house. I lost everything," he explained in an emotional video shared on social media. "Thank God I'm still living. I survived the tornado. My son, he survived."
Chaney, 43, portrayed Poot on HBO's hit crime drama "The Wire." He also appeared on Starz's "BMF" and "Secret Society," streaming on Tubi.
Chaney unconscious, son found in the woods after tornado
In a statement on his Instagram, Chaney said the incident happened May 29 around 3 p.m.
"I was unconscious on the ground with my face in the mud with my parts of my house on top of me," he wrote. "I woke up in a panic, crawled from under my house screaming my son's name out."
"My neighbors were there to assist me, and we found my son 300 feet away in the woods behind my house."
A GoFundMe created for the family says Malachi has been in the ICU after suffering from broken ribs and fractured facial bones. The fundraiser has raised over $92,000 at the time of publication.
In a June 1 Facebook post, Chaney shared that Malachi spent his 19th birthday in the hospital, but is making some progress and is surrounded by his support system.
"He can feel it because he's really responding even more. He's stable," the actor said. "We're feeding him. He's able to eat soft foods and like the doctors said it's just a long road, a long journey to recovery."
He continued, "Malachi is an American hero. He's a hero to the world, and I'm documenting it."

Keyshia Cole Apologizes After Mistakenly Saying Ashanti Is Pregnant Again

Keyshia Cole is walking back a comment she made on The Breakfast Club that accidentally stirred up false rumors about Ashanti and Nelly.
While appearing on the show, Keyshia was giving Ashanti her props when she mistakenly said, “She got a baby, she’s pregnant again.”
The moment caught everyone off guard. Loren LoRosa immediately questioned the claim, asking if that was really true or just internet gossip. Jess Hilarious and Charlamagne, however, backed Keyshia and didn’t think twice about it. But as it turns out, Keyshia was wrong.
Ashanti is not currently pregnant with another child. Keyshia appeared genuinely surprised when corrected live on-air, and many online viewers took it as an honest mistake.
Now, she’s issuing a public apology under a post about the interview: “My apologies… I shouldn’t have said that. I thought she announced it. If that isn’t true, then I apologize.”
Even though the baby rumor was false, one thing is still true, Ashanti has said she wants more children someday.
But for now, the couple hasn’t shared any official news about another baby on the way.
