#FASHIONFAB: Calvin Klein Summer 2025 Delivers Denim After Dark Album
Calvin Klein’s latest summer campaign abandons the bright whites and beach volleyball aesthetics of typical seasonal advertising for something more provocative: a nocturnal series that captures intimacy through shadow and heat.

Photographer Stuart Winecoff transforms the brand’s minimalist DNA into a study of forms moving through moonlit sand, creating images that feel like stolen moments along the shoreline.
Models Joey Lanham, Lucas Barski, and Brady Asumang front Calvin Klein’s summer campaign. Gabrielle Marceca styles the trio in a lineup built around clean, everyday essentials. Jeans appear alongside button-downs, polo shirts, open knits, and the exposed waistband of Calvin Klein’s signature underwear.
Calvin Klein finds its energy in transition zones, those twilight hours when the temperature cools and restraint gives way. The setting serves both a practical and symbolic role. Sand adds texture against skin, while the openness of night reflects the brand’s preference for clean, uncluttered aesthetics.
The campaign roots Calvin Klein’s minimalist philosophy in the physical. Cotton breathes. Denim shifts freely. The models carry both vulnerability and control, channeling the tension that has shaped the brand from the beginning. Here, Calvin Klein continues to dress the space between exposure and restraint.

#RHOA: Real Housewives of Atlanta Stars React to Brit Eady Skipping the Season 16 Reunion in New Trailer
The first part of the 'RHOA' season 16 reunion airs on Sunday, July 13. The first look teased how stars Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, Shamea Morton Mwangi, Kelli Ferrell, Angela Oakley and Cynthia Bailey, respond to the news that castmate Brit Eady skipped the reunion
Despite Eady's absence, the cast still divulge and recall what happened between Eady and former star, Kenya Moore

Brit Eady continued to surprise her The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 castmates up until the day of the reunion.
On Friday, June 27, Bravo released the first sneak preview of the upcoming three-part reunion of the hit reality series. During the quick trailer, fans got a peek at how the women reacted to fellow castmate Eady's decision to skip the reunion.

Towards the first half of the trailer, host Andy Cohen tells Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, Shamea Morton Mwangi, Kelli Ferrell, Angela Oakley and Cynthia Bailey, that “Brit Eady has decided not to join us.”
The clip then cuts to a shocked Ferrell, 40, who says, “Wow,” while another woman is heard in the background saying, “What?”

Eady’s decision to skip the reunion followed reporting on Thursday, June 5, that she and Kenya Moore would not be attending, Eady on her own volition, while Moore, 54, was not invited by Bravo to participate.
Moore was the longest running RHOA star when season 16 began filming back in April 2024. But her time in the season was cut short in June 2024, after she exposed sexually explicit photos presumed to be from Eady's past to guests at the opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa. She was suspended — and after an internal investigation — exited the series.

On the same day as the reunion taping, Thursday, June 5, Eady, 37, addressed her decision not to attend the reunion on her Instagram Stories, alleging that the photos Moore shared a year ago weren't of her to begin with.
“I do not know who was in that photo, but upon seeing it for the first time recently, I now know it was not me,” Eady continued in her statement. “I look forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark part of my life."

During the reunion trailer, Williams, 44, seemingly acknowledges the incident and says, “Kenya had gotten information from a current housewife about Brit’s past.” Cohen, 57, then turns his attention to Ferrell and asks, “Did you send her the pictures?” His question left Ferrell shocked and speechless.
The trailer then cuts to other moments that tease tensions between Parks, 51, and Oakley, as well as Williams and Morton Mwangi, 43, which prompts Williams to leave the reunion set.

#HipHopNews: Clipse Drop New ‘Let God Sort Them Out’ Album
Clipse, the duo of brothers Pusha T and Malice, last dropped an album in 2009 with Til The Casket Drops, giving way to King Push’s strong solo career. With the duo reunited, the Clipse’s new album, Let God Sort Them Out, is getting some early positive returns on X as Hip-Hop fans are joined in rejoicing.

Let God Sort Them Out, the fourth album from the Brothers Thorton, is more of the pair’s usual technical flair and clear diction, with the requisite brick talk that serves as a metaphor more than anything. With longtime producer and collaborator Pharrell Williams handling the entire bulk of production, the clear-eyed vision of Push and Malice never wavers.

The album opens with “The Birds Don’t Sing,” featuring John Legend and Voices of Fire. Pusha T opens up with a moving verse depicting the passing of his mother, mentioning his young son, while also referring to his brother by his given first name. Malice continues the autobiographical bent with his verse centering on their father.

An early crowd favorite follows in “Chains & Whips,” which was previously heard last year when the brothers teased the track during a Louis Vuitton fashion show last year. However, the surprise appearance of Kendrick Lamar solidified the excitement, and K-Dot delivers a sinister verse that may or may not be directed toward a certain Canadian superstar.

According to X, other highlights include “P.O.V.” featuring a blistering verse from Tyler, The Creator, the previously-released “Ace Trumpets,” and “Inglorious Bastards” featuring their longtime partner, Ab-Liva. Nas also shows up on the track “Chandeliers,” which appears on the tail end of the strong album title cut. Stove God Cooks, who works alongside Westside Gunn and the sprawling Griselda collective, shows up for “F.I.C.O.,” as he’s one of the top “coke rap” stars in the game now.

Coco Jones And Donovan Mitchell Are Engaged

Congratulations are in order for Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell as the couple announced today (July 11) they are officially engaged.
Although both of their fanbases have speculated they have been dating for well over a year, neither of them ever publicly confirmed they were an item. The hard launch of the year was a success, as the first time they posted a photo together on social media included a rock on Jones’ ring finger.

Both parties posted the same photo on their respective pages showing them sharing a kiss as the sun beamed behind them. The attention is directed towards Coco’s hand on Mitchell’s chest, with her new diamond ring shining.
The R&B songstress didn’t include a caption but did pair the post with her love song “You,” which is a Mitchell-inspired single from her debut album Why Not More? The Cleveland Cavaliers player followed suit on his page and also added a video of the intimate moment in a second slide. The two were surrounded by a luxurious pool, palm trees, and an ocean view as the star athlete knelt and popped the question. See the moment below.

Recently, Coco Jones spoke about why she was committed to keeping her high-profile relationship private. The “ICU” singer prioritized her peace above all, recognizing that keeping her love life to herself — amid sharing so much of her journey with the public throughout her life — was her way of making sure it stays special and sacred.

“I really think my brain is like, ‘No.’ I feel like it’s my version of rebellion and control. Y’all don’t get this, this is my thing,” she said during the interview. “I gave y’all every freaking thing and more, and this is mine. So in a way, it’s like, ‘No, I don’t want to share. I don’t have to. That’s not part of the job.’ I feel like if everything was exploited, I would go insane because there would be nothing left.”

In addition to saying “yes” to her future husband, the Let It Shine star has had a monumental year on the music front. She released her long-awaited debut album Why Not More? on April 25, 2025, which features singles like “Taste” and “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” and guest appearances from YG Marley, Future, and London On Da Track.

Tyler Perry’s 30th Film, “Madea’s Destination Wedding,” Hits #1 on Netflix
Tyler Perry is celebrating a major career milestone as “Madea’s Destination Wedding” lands at number one on Netflix, just days after its July 11th release. The film marks Perry’s 30th movie and the triumphant return of his beloved character, Madea.
Overwhelmed by the support, Perry shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. “I can’t thank you enough and I don’t take this or you for granted,” he wrote. “This is movie number 30, and y’all still riding with me! Thankful.”

The film’s instant success is being driven by longtime fans, who continue to show up for Perry’s work. Social media was buzzing with praise, as users flooded the comment section under his post, sharing their favorite scenes and excitement over Madea’s comeback.
Perry is clearly on a roll. Just last month, his Netflix film “Straw,” starring Taraji P. Henson, also claimed the number one spot after its June premiere. With two back-to-back streaming hits, Perry proves once again that his storytelling continues to resonate with audiences.

Gervonta “Tank” Davis Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges In Miami

Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been arrested in South Florida for domestic violence.
Local outlets report that the popular boxer was arrested and booked at 3:35 a.m. EDT at Miami’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center for an incident involving his ex-girlfriend that transpired weeks prior. Reporter Andy Slater claims Davis is suspected to have hit his ex in the back of the head, as well as slapping her. He adds that officers have been looking for him since the incident. He was pulled over in Miami Beach after his plates were flagged.

A new mugshot shows the fighter wearing a white polo shirt.
The alleged attack took place on June 15, Father’s Day, shortly after 9PM. As Davis attempted to pick up his children from their mother’s home, the two got into a verbal altercation that somehow turned physical, his ex told police. She added that being struck twice caused a laceration. Police also say that she provided them with footage of the argument, where Davis is allegedly seen throwing a small box at her.

The woman’s mother also claims to have witnessed the aftermath of the incident, saying that her daughter was, “visibly distressed and crying.”
Gervonta was also arrested on a domestic violence charge back in 2022, as well as catching two misdemeanor battery charges for an incident in February 2020, in which he “was observed battering his former girlfriend,” according to police in Coral Gables, Florida.

Glynn Turman Is Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame
After more than six decades in the spotlight, Glynn Turman has officially cemented his place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actor, director, producer, and real-life cowboy was honored with a star on Thursday (July 10), surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues who’ve witnessed his impact on film, television, and theater.
Turman, 77, began his acting career at just 12 years old, sharing the stage with Sidney Poitier in A Raisin in the Sun on Broadway. His Walk of Fame star now sits beside Poitier’s — a placement Turman called “the icing on the cake.”

“We’ve held each other up in difficult times, you know? We’ve been there for one another, you know? And so, here it shows,” Turman said during his acceptance speech, reflecting on the relationships he’s built throughout his journey. The ceremony drew a high-profile crowd, including Ava DuVernay, Don Cheadle, Dawnn Lewis, Tina Knowles, Dionne Warwick, Kim Fields and more — some of whom spoke from the heart.
The filmmaker described Turman as “an American institution,” while Lewis added, “I am just in awe of his continued excellence and his generosity and his humanity, and I couldn’t be more proud of my friend.” Cheadle, who previously worked with Turman, offered a personal reflection, adding, “Be mindful, never meet your heroes — unless, of course, somehow, some way, they turn out to be Mr. Glynn Turman.”

Kim Fields also shared sentiments about her relationship with Turman, saying, “Glynn Turman played my dad in a TV movie when I was 12 years old, and he has been family ever since.”
The beloved actor’s career spans iconic roles including: Peyton Place in the ’60s, Cooley High in the ’70s, A Different World in the ’80s, and The Inkwell in the ’90s—to more recent performances in Queen Sugar, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said Turman has “left an indelible mark on the industry,” adding, “We are proud to immortalize his legacy on this iconic boulevard.”
NBA legend Magic Johnson also showed love online, writing: “Today, my good friend, Glynn Turman, received the Hollywood Walk of Fame honor. He is so deserving and has dedicated over six decades to his craft, delivering some of the most riveting television/films that we all have come to love. This recognition speaks to his professionalism and discipline.”

He added, “I’ve always admired how Glynn is able to delve into his characters and make them feel so real to the audience. Glynn, your true talent is undeniable, but I also know the many hours you put in to play every role the right way. Cookie and I want you to relish this moment and truly enjoy the honor and recognition that you’ve earned. We are extremely proud of you and wish you all the best!”
As for what still matters most to Turman after all these years, his answer was simple: kindness. “A kind word, a kind gesture — these are times where kindness can go a long way,” he said.

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Superman’ leaps weekend box office in single bound to 122 Million Dollars
It was “up, up and away” for James Gunn’s “Superman” reboot, which finished No. 1 at the box office with a $122 million opening weekend.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ latest blockbuster beat early estimates of around $90 million for the weekend and surpassed last weekend’s top hit “Jurassic World Rebirth,” which grossed $40 million this weekend.

“Superman is on the Mount Rushmore of superheroes. All eyes were on this movie,” Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore. “So, this is the gift that hopefully will keep on giving for DC Studios.”
DC Studios’ movies have historically been less popular than the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2017, DC’s “Justice League” grossed $229 million domestically, while Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” grossed $678.8 domestically the following year. Marvel films haven’t been as popular with audiences in recent years, which some experts attribute to “superhero fatigue.”

Dergarabedian said the performance of “Superman” means “we can put that to bed” because “it’s all about the individual movie.”
Blockbuster hits over the last several months have lifted the summer box office 16% compared to the same time last year, according to Comscore. The overall box office is closing in on $5 billion for all of 2025 and summer earnings currently total about $2.35 billion, according to Comscore data.

Shawn Robbins, director of analytics at Fandango and founder and owner of Box Office Theory, said it’s still possible to reach a $4 billion summer, but the box office may be held back by June’s underperformers. Disney’s “Elio,” for instance, opened to a mere $20 million despite positive reviews.

Big performers like “Superman” can help close the gap. “This is kind of the nature of the box office nowadays. We see so much feast or famine-type of weekends, it just takes one movie to bust out beyond expectation,” Robbins said.
“This summer, the wealth is spread among so many movies,” he said.
“Superman” is the third movie to gross more than $100 million over a three-day opening this year. The first movie to do so was Warner Bros. Pictures’ “A Minecraft Movie” in April and Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” in May.

“Lilo & Stitch” has been the big winner this summer, grossing over $414 million since opening on Memorial Day weekend, and is closing in on the year’s biggest earner, “A Minecraft Movie” ($423 million), which jolted the box office from a disappointing first quarter.
“Superman” isn’t the last superhero movie of the summer. The next big blockbuster is expected to be Disney’s “Fantastic Four,” which opens on July 25. Robbins believes Disney’s “Freakier Friday,” the sequel to the 2003 release of Disney’s “Freaky Friday,” could end up being a breakout in August.

Hollywood ultimately relies on big hits in July, so it’s important for “Fantastic Four” and “Superman” to perform well, Robbins said.

Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion Just Hard-Launched Their Relationship

It’s official. Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson are that couple now.
After weeks of evasive rumour and social media detective work, the four-time NBA champion and three-time Grammy-winning rap queen have confirmed the rumoured romance in style. On Saturday, Thompson posted a snuggly photo of himself with Megan Thee Stallion on Instagram, sealing the rumours with a no-nonsense, cryptic caption: “Sweet Bells son.”

The post amassed more than 100,000 likes in less than 40 minutes, getting both fan bases into full-blown panic.
And if that wasn’t loud enough, former Golden State Warrior teammate of Thompson’s, Draymond Green, couldn’t resist leaving a one-word comment that screamed approval: “Killa!” Green’s comment gained 500 likes in 10 minutes, a testament to how starved the internet was for confirmation of the two being a couple.

Fans first made the connection early in the week when Megan Thee Stallion, 30, shared an Instagram carousel full of thirst-trap-worthy shots from what looked like a tropical getaway. With the bikini selfies and sun-soaked vibe, one keen-eyed fan spotted none other than Klay Thompson, 35, resting in the background, sipping leisurely and shirtless.

By Thursday, TMZ was confirming what everyone already knew: the “HISS” rapper and the newest Dallas Mavericks guard were indeed an item. The tworeportedly flew off on a romantic getaway just weeks into the close of the NBA free agency period and Thompson inked his new deal with the Mavericks.
And all thanks to Instagram, we now have proof. While Megan’s Instagram updates throughout the week were all too understandably setting up a boo’d-up getaway, Thompson had his social media kept rather tidy until the big moment. On Friday, he posted a solo selfie of himself enjoying a beer on the beach to his Story, giving off major “soft launch” energy.

But the beach wasn’t the only thing warming up, it seems.
By Saturday, subtlety was abandoned. In the photo that he shared, Klay and Meg sit together side by side, relaxed, smiling, and totally unconcerned. The “Sweet Bells son” post had people bewildered, but the photo spoke volumes.

Megan Thee Stallion’s dating life has never been of public interest, and now she’s causing waves in the NBA sphere once again.
She was seen last summer with NBA forward Torrey Craig after a viral TikTok video caught them participating in the “Couples Challenge.” Despite deleting the video shortly after, TMZ exposed the short-lived romance, which allegedly lasted through April 2024.
Now, the Houston native may be swapping courtside flirtations for something a bit more put together. And with Thompson dressing up in Dallas this fall, don’t be surprised to see Meg sitting front-row in Mavericks blue, iced-out and unfazed.

The internet is totally losing it.

As news of the wedding spread, social media erupted with excitement. Fans took to platforms like Instagram to express their joy and admiration for the couple. Comments flooded in, with users sharing their thoughts on the wedding’s beauty and even inquiring about the wedding cake, which seemed to capture everyone’s attention.
In a romantic gesture, Cudi treated his guests to an exclusive first listen of his upcoming album, Free, performing two unreleased tracks dedicated to Lola. This personal touch made the evening even more special, showcasing the couple’s deep connection.

Lola described the day as a “perfect, flawless day,” a sentiment that resonates with fans who have followed Cudi’s journey through ups and downs, including recent legal challenges. After the chaos surrounding his testimony in the Diddy trial, this wedding represents a healing moment for the artist.
As Kid Cudi embarks on this new chapter with Lola, fans are excited to witness the evolution of the artist known for his vulnerability and creativity. From courtroom chaos to coastal vows, Cudi is stepping into a softer, more loving era. Congratulations to the newlyweds!Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion Just Hard-Launched Their Relationship

Marilyn Mosby’s mortgage fraud conviction overturned

In a significant legal development, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned the mortgage fraud conviction of former Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby. This ruling has sparked discussions about the implications of jury instructions and the judicial process in high-profile cases.
Marilyn Mosby, who gained national attention for her role in prosecuting police officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray, was convicted in 2024 for mortgage fraud. The charges stemmed from allegations that she lied about her financial situation to withdraw $90,000 from her retirement accounts and submitted a false $5,000 gift letter to secure favorable mortgage terms on a Florida property.

Despite the conviction, Mosby has consistently maintained her innocence and sought a presidential pardon, which was ultimately denied. Her legal team argued that her actions did not directly harm public funds or individuals, emphasizing that the case involved a non-violent offense.

The appeals court’s decision was a 2-1 ruling that highlighted issues with the jury instructions provided during the trial. The court found that the instructions were “overbroad” and allowed jurors to determine the venue of the crime based on actions that occurred outside of Maryland. This misdirection led to the conclusion that Mosby’s conviction was not valid.
Judge Stephanie Thacker, who wrote for the majority, stated, “As a result of our decision to vacate the mortgage fraud conviction, the forfeiture order related to Appellant’s Longboat Key Condo, which was obtained as the fruit of the alleged mortgage fraud, is also vacated.” This means that Mosby is no longer subject to the forfeiture of her condominium, which was a significant aspect of the case.

While the mortgage fraud conviction has been overturned, the court upheld two prior convictions of perjury related to the same case. These convictions were tied to the false claims made by Mosby regarding her financial hardship. The court determined that the evidence supporting these convictions was appropriately handled during the trial.

As part of her sentence, Mosby was subjected to 12 months of home confinement, 100 hours of community service, and three years of supervised release, to be served concurrently. She completed the confinement portion of her sentence in June 2025.
Judge Paul Niemeyer, who dissented in the ruling, argued that there was sufficient evidence to support the original convictions, asserting that Mosby prepared and transmitted the false documents from Maryland. He contended that her actions were deliberate and intended to influence the mortgage lending process.

This ruling raises important questions about the judicial process and the standards for jury instructions in fraud cases. The decision to overturn Mosby’s conviction may set a precedent for future cases where the venue and jurisdiction are in question. Legal experts suggest that this case could influence how similar cases are prosecuted, particularly those involving complex financial transactions.

Moreover, the case has drawn attention to the broader issues of accountability and transparency within the legal system, especially concerning public officials. Mosby’s case has become emblematic of the challenges faced by African American leaders in navigating the legal landscape, often under intense scrutiny.
Marilyn Mosby’s journey through the legal system has been fraught with challenges, but the recent overturning of her mortgage fraud conviction marks a pivotal moment in her fight for justice. As she continues to appeal her remaining convictions, the implications of this case will likely resonate within the African American community and beyond, highlighting the complexities of the legal system and the importance of fair trial standards.

Rihanna Returns To Barbados For The Funeral Of Her Dad, Ronald Fenty

Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and their children, flew to Barbados on July 8 to attend the funeral of her father, Ronald Fenty, who passed away in May.
The 71-year-old died from cancer, pneumonia and several other illnesses, according to the death certificate obtained by TMZ, which also stated acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer and aspiration pneumonia, which is a bacterial lung infection.

Secondary causes listed include acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis, which are linked to extensive kidney damage.
The celebration of Fenty’s life took place at Garfield Sobers Gymnasium. Rihanna was accompanied by her boyfriend A$AP Rocky and their two sons, RZA and Riot, as they walked into the venue for his service. She wore a white gown while Rocky and their sons wore dockers and button-down shirts to the service. Fenty was survived by his fiancée, Rosemary, his six children, 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Rihanna‘s relationship with her father encompassed both deep affection and well-documented challenges. Throughout her career, she has spoken candidly about Fenty’s influence on her life, acknowledging both positive impacts and difficult periods. Their bond, while complicated, remained significant throughout her transformation from Barbadian teenager to global superstar.

Paris Jackson Accuses Michael Jackson Estate of Mismanagement of Funds
Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, has publicly accused the King of Pop’s estate executors of mishandling her family’s funds. She claims the estate’s decisions have created severe financial hardship. In the most pointed allegations to date, Paris is asserting official mismanagement.
Paris’s statement centers on a stalled distribution of trust funds caused by an IRS dispute over asset valuation. The estate owes an estimated $700 million tax penalty, linked to how Michael Jackson’s catalog and holdings were appraised.

Executors John Branca and John McClain have contended they cannot “possibly determine what amount could be safely distributed” until the IRS finishes revaluating the catalog. As a result, Paris and her siblings—23‑year‑old Bigi and 27‑year‑old Prince—along with their 94‑year‑old grandmother Katherine Jackson, have been denied full access to trust funds.
Paris issued a statement through her legal representatives. She alleges the estate is making poor decisions and failing heirs in their fiduciary duties.

Though she has not released full text publicly, the tone resembled this:
“I trust that my father’s legacy will not be misused by those entrusted to manage it.”
She further expressed frustration with delays that prevent basic support payments.

A spokeswoman for the estate defended the record. She said they continue to provide significant allowances and have approved every maintenance request for Katherine Jackson and the children She added:
“Virtually no request of Mrs. Jackson for her care or maintenance has been declined.”
At issue is Michael Jackson’s music catalog, valued at over $1.2 billion, half of which is being sold to Sony. Disagreements over valuation have stalled all assets. Without resolution, heirs remain frozen out. Katherine reportedly has already received over $55 million since Michael’s death in 2009.

Executors appealed a previous tax ruling in 2021 and won, prompting IRS reconsideration. Now another petition awaits resolution before distributions resume.

Morehouse Graduate Detained By Ice Ignites HBCU Support for his Release

Alex Maganda, a 2018 Morehouse College graduate, is being held in a Texas detention center after a traffic violation led to his apprehension by immigration authorities.
Maganda came to the U.S. from Mexico at 5 years old, according to his attorney. But his detainment has his loved ones worried the Dallas resident could be deported.

According to Capital B News, Maganda is being held at the Bluebonnet Detention Facility, which is listed as a prison under contract for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The greater HBCU community began rallying for Maganda soon after word got out about is detainment. Morehouse alum JaMarcus Toomer made a post on Instagram, speaking highly of Maganda’s kind heart and spirit.

On June 10, Spelman College grad and social media influencer Lynae Vanee posted an impassioned plea on Instagram June 10 to her over 800,000 followers.
Other concerned parties began the hashtag #FreeAlexMaganda, leading to wider social support and grassroots efforts.
One of Maganda’s classmates posted on social media: “We need immediate legal support for our brother. This should not be happening to a Morehouse man.”

According to a LinkedIn profile for “Alexis Maganda,” the Morehouse alum worked as a teaching assistant at the Atlanta HBCU, giving Spanish lessons to high school students after graduation. His current employment is listed as a sales executive with AT&T.
Nana Gyamfi, executive director for  The Black Alliance for Just Immigration, spoke with Capital B Atlanta last month about the increased risk Black immigrants face.
“What we know from the data, as well as anecdotal experiences, is that most law enforcement interactions with Black immigrants begin as racial profiling that then goes down another road when the officer hears an accent or realizes there is a language barrier,” Gyamfi cautioned. “As a result, Black migrants are detained, deported, and held in solitary confinement at a disproportionately higher rate.

Given that there isn’t a way to distinguish a Black immigrant from a Black American citizen, it puts Black Americans at risk for ICE detention.
Maganda’s arrest follows heightened enforcement by Texas authorities under new state directives that require cooperation with federal immigration agents.
Efforts to assist Maganda are ongoing and he is currently receiving legal counsel. If you or anyone you know are interested in supporting Maganda, his family and the class councils, you can reach them at bringalexhome2025@gmail.com.

Madonna Looks Glam in Blue Silk on the Streets of NYC
Madonna is on the move! The 66-year-old Queen of Pop looked glamorous as she stepped out of a care in a blue silk outfit on Saturday (July 12) in New York City.

Shannon Sharpe’s $50M Lawsuit Stalls After Accuser’s No-Show at Court Hearing
In an odd twist, the $50 million civil lawsuit accusing Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe of sexual assault and battery ground to a halt when the anonymous plaintiff didn’t show for the initial April court appearance in Las Vegas. As the proceedings opened, the woman remained unrepresented and, notably, absent.

Judge Anna Albertson didn’t hold back, expressing frustration at the void left by the plaintiff’s legal team, warning that the serious nature of the accusation deserved full representation. The woman offered no excuse or reason for failing to appear.
Nevada criminal defense attorney Robert Draskovich, though uninvolved in the case, called the absence “strange” and “legally risky.” He stressed, “Preliminary hearings establish the trajectory of a case. Skipping one, especially without notice, undermines credibility and momentum.” That sentiment echoes through the waiting courtroom, casting doubt on the lawsuit’s seriousness.

Sharpe’s side was represented by attorney Robert DeMarco, who explained that his co‑counsel from New York was tied up in other matters. But Draskovich cautioned that “Local counsel understands the nuances. National recognition doesn’t guarantee familiarity with state‑specific rules.”
Despite the plaintiff’s no-show, Sharpe’s team requested, and received, a 45-day extension to prepare their response. Judge Albertson granted the delay but noted surprise that the defense wasn’t pushing for a quick resolution. The next hearing is set for September 3rd.

Sharpe has maintained silence publicly, and the accuser hasn’t stepped forward or identified legal representation. That standoff leaves the lawsuit in limbo, either stalled, quietly dropped, or gearing up for a major comeback. All eyes are now on who moves next.
