#MAGFAB:Cardi B at the Schiaparelli Couture Show For Paris Fashion Week
Cardi B came to the Schiaparelli Couture Show to be her freaky little self. We would expect no different from her or from the house of Schiaparelli.
Hideous if you ask me. And that poor bird!

#RHOA: Nene Leakes On Why She Declined Joining ‘The Traitors’ Season 4 Cast
Nene Leakes was rumored to be participating in The Traitors Season 4, but when the cast was announced, she was not among the confirmed names.
Now, in a new interview, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star is corroborating that she was offered a place at the castle and explained why she ultimately declined to participate.

'Love Island USA's Cierra Ortega's Parents Call For "Compassion" Amid Backlash & Peacock Series Exit: "No One Deserves That Kind Of Hate"
“I was asked to do Traitors — I was really excited about doing it, by the way,” Leakes said on the latest episode of the Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia podcast.
She added, “I couldn’t do Traitors because my son is in the hospital, and he’s still in the hospital. My son’s been in the hospital since May.”

Leakes’ son Brent had a stroke at 22 and recently had a heart transplant. The reality TV personality explained that “his heart started rejecting” the transplant and has been hospitalized to “stop the rejection.” Leakes said that he recently “turned a curve” and “has a little while longer” to recover.
“I’m so glad I said no,” Leakes said about declining the Traitors offer.
Leakes explained that when she was offered the show they gave her the production dates and she had initially thought her son would be better by the time filming came around.

“I kept thinking maybe Brent would be much better [by June],” she added. “My fear was committing and then having to go back to them and say, I can’t do it. So that was never going to work. Brent was very sick. It was no way I could have committed to it. And I believe you have to go out of the country [to film the show].”
Leakes saw her casting on The Traitors as a chance “to do all these great things and come back really strong” but it was not going to happen with her son in the hospital.

The Glee alum also mentioned rumors on social media that claimed she declined the Peacock competition series due to the check not being big enough.
“No, no, no. I got the check,” Leakes said. “If Brent had been in the place that he’s in today, I would have went. We can FaceTime. He’s talking. He wasn’t walking at the time. Now he’s walking, he’s talking.”

The cast of The Traitors Season 4 includes Real Housewives stars like Porsha Williams (Atlanta), Caroline Stanbury (Dubai), Candiace Dillard Bassett (Potomac), Lisa Rinna (Beverly Hills), and Dorinda Medley (New York City), who was featured on The Traitors Season 3.
Other stars part of the series include Donna Kelce, the mother of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, Love Island USA’s Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins, as well as Johnny Weir, Tara Lipinski, and more.

#NewMusic from Syd Returns With New Song “Die for This”

Syd has returned. The singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and leader of the Internet has shared her first solo song in three years, “Die for This,” ahead of her imminent tour supporting Billie Eilish in North America.

Check out the single HERE:

Later in the year, Syd will head out on another run of support dates, this time with Reneé Rapp. Her last album, Broken Hearts Club, came out in 2022. Since then, she was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammy Awards for her work on Beyoncé’s Renaissance. (Syd co-wrote “Plastic Off the Sofa,” which won Best Traditional R&B Performance.) She also recently collaborated with Moses Sumney and Meshell Ndegeocello on “Hey Girl(s).”

#HipHopNews: NLE Choppa Undergoes Massive Change: NLE THE GREAT
NLE Choppa unveiled a bald new look and dropped “Messiah (Devil’s Diss)” while reflecting on his past self.
I’m starting to wonder what’s really going on with NLE Choppa. The young Memphis rapper is clearly going through a transformation, and whatever this new version of himself is, it’s intentional. But it’s also cryptic.

First thing that caught everyone’s attention? The bald head. Yeah, Choppa shaved off all his hair. Then, in the background of several new photos, you’ll notice images of Tupac. One of them even shows Pac with a shaved head. Coincidence? Doubtful.
Dig a little deeper and you’ll find a separate page where he shared what appears to be a letter to his former self. It’s not completely clear what he means, but to me it feels like he’s closing a chapter and stepping into something new. Aren’t we all doing that in some way?

He dropped a new joint, as I was writing this. The track is called “Messiah (Devil’s Diss)”. Check it out below and let me know what you think.
Also, here’s that letter he wrote to himself in full and his new name: NLE THE GREAT!
“Note to past self:
Thank you. Your efforts didn’t go in vain in any way, shape or form. Your hard work toward getting in alignment is the reason I’m able to write this right now. A soldier is what you are. Even though it was rough—literally blood, sweat and tears went into this journey—I’m proud to say it was worth it.

A chapter of my life is closing. Restoration in a chapter of my life is beginning.
The one.

Netflix Gives Fans First-Look At Upcoming Tyler Perry Films During Essence Fest

Tyler Perry’s cinematic universe took center stage at the 2025 Essence Festival of Culture, offering fans an exclusive glimpse into what’s next from the TV/Film mogul — who signed a multi-year deal with Netflix in 2023.
On Friday (July 4), Netflix kicked off the Fest with a special presentation on the main stage, treating fans to never-before-seen sneak peeks of Perry’s upcoming slate of films and series. The event, hosted by Bevy Smith, opened with actress Terri J. Vaughn, who gave the crowd a look into the second installment of Miss Governor, arriving on Aug. 14 on the streaming platform.

Vaughn, who stars as Antoinette Dunkerson, described the political comedy as a “love letter to Black women” who are in leadership, according to ESSENCE.

The cast of Beauty in Black also took the stage with stars: Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, Ricco Ross, and Julian Horton — who gave fans a preview of the “crazy” twists and turns coming in season two, premiering Sept. 11.
Also announced was Ruth & Boaz, a faith-based film from Perry and producer DeVon Franklin, debuting Sept. 26. And of course, fans were treated to a glimpse of the next film installment in the Madea craze: Madea’s Destination Wedding, dropping July 11.
To make it extra special, guests were also invited to enter for a Bahamas vacation giveaway courtesy of The Atlantis Resort.

While Perry’s creative empire continues to flourish, he’s currently facing a few serious allegations. The Oval actor Derek Dixon has filed a $260,000,000 lawsuit against the mogul, accusing him of sexual harassment, assault, and coercion during his time on BET+ series Ruthless and The Oval.

In the lawsuit, Dixon details an alleged pattern of professional retaliation after he refused Perry’s alleged advances, including being written off storylines and enduring mental health struggles.
Perry has denied all claims. His attorney, Matthew Boyd, dismissed the suit as a baseless “shake down,” stating, “Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”

Soulja Boy’s L.A. Store Vandalized & Looted Overnight In Brazen $25K Heist

Soulja Boy discovered his Los Angeles flagship store had been broken into early Monday (July 7) with thieves reportedly causing $25,000 in damage and stealing exclusive merchandise.

As reported by TMZ Hip-Hop, the break-in occurred at the SODMG storefront on Melrose Avenue, where intruders forced their way through the front entrance, shattering glass and leaving the door tagged with fresh graffiti. The store has remained boarded up throughout the day as the damage was assessed.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the burglars used bolt cutters to break the locks, leaving behind chipped red paint on the steel frame. Investigators could possibly be collecting DNA evidence from the scene.

The stolen items include limited-edition SODMG apparel such as hoodies, T-shirts and hats, along with rare Bearbrick collectibles. The thieves also took a custom leather jacket belonging to Soulja Boy and a PlayStation console.
Soulja Boy’s team responded by hiring a 24-hour security patrol to monitor the property moving forward.
The SODMG brand, short for Stacks on Deck Money Gang, was launched by Soulja Boy in the late 2000s as both a record label and lifestyle brand. Over the years, it has served as a platform for emerging Hip-Hop artists and a hub for exclusive merchandise tied to the rapper’s identity and career.

The store’s location on Melrose has become a physical extension of the SODMG brand, offering fans a place to purchase gear and connect with the culture Soulja Boy helped shape.
As of Monday, no arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

Dr. Heavenly Kimes Launches Campaign For Georgia State Representative

“Married to Medicine” star Dr. Heavenly Kimes is officially entering politics. The cosmetic dentist and entrepreneur has announced her candidacy for Georgia State Representative in District 93 on the Democratic ticket.
“I’m not a career politician. I’m a mom, a doctor, a business owner — and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in,” says Kimes, 54. “I’m running to serve, and I’m ready to work.”

Her campaign rally will take place July 8 at 5 p.m. outside the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta. “District 93 deserves someone who’s not just talking, but doing,” she adds.
Kimes will focus on education, small business support, and healthcare. “I’ve spent my life helping people build confidence, start businesses, and take control of their futures,” she says.
“Our people deserve real representation, someone who understands both the struggles and the solutions,” Kimes declares.

Costar Quad Webb is managing her campaign.

Jeffrey Epstein Had ‘No Client List’ or Blackmail Scheme, DOJ Says In Memo Reaffirming His Su*cide
A new memo from the Justice Department and FBI concludes there’s no credible evidence that Jeffrey Epstein maintained a “client list” or blackmailed associates. The two-page document, first reported by Axios, outlines the agencies’ “exhaustive review” of Epstein’s files.
“This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list,’” it states. “There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.”

This directly contradicts Attorney General Pam Bondi’s February claim that Epstein’s client list was “sitting on my desk right now to review.” Press secretary Karoline Leavitt downplayed the contradiction, saying Bondi referred to “all the paperwork” related to Epstein’s crimes.

The memo reaffirms Epstein died by suic*de on August 10, 2019, supported by surveillance footage showing no one entered his cell area overnight. FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Dan Bongino, once skeptical, now publicly agree.
“Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither justice nor victims,” the memo warns.

OH  L👀K! Eva Marcille Reconciles With Estranged Husband Michael Sterling 2 Years After Split

Over the 4th of July weekend, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star seemingly confirmed that she is reconciling with her estranged husband.
“Happy Essence!” Marcille, 40, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, July 5, while experiencing the annual music festival in New Orleans with Sterling. “I’m floating🌻 soft launch #ganggang #essencefest.”
In the social media clip, Marcille was seen smiling from ear to ear as she briefly rested her head on Sterling’s shoulder while driving through the city. (Us Weekly has reached out to Marcille and Sterling’s reps for additional comment.)

Soon after sharing the post on social media, many friends of the couple — including Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Dr. Jackie Walters and Toya Bush Harris — expressed their excitement at the news of their apparent reconciliation.
“🌻😍 Loved seeing y’all😍🌻,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton wrote in the comments section. The Real Housewives of New York City star Ubah Hassan added, “Cue the happy dances 😍😍😍😍😍.”

When one fan commented that Marcille, “loves that man down!!!!” she replied, “And do!!!”
In March 2023, Marcille filed for divorce from Sterling after more than four years of marriage. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly at the time, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip alum called her marriage “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation.”

The couple share sons Mikey, 7, and Maverick, 5. Marcille is also mom to daughter Marley, 11, whom she shares with ex Kevin McCall.
“He was put in my life so that I could bring the biggest sunshine into my family, which is my daughter, Marley,” Marcille said about McCall during a May 2020 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “I wouldn’t take it back ‘cause if I took it back, I wouldn’t have [my daughter].”

While Marcille has tried to keep her personal life out of the spotlight ever since leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta in June 2020, Sterling previously vowed to fight for his wife and their marriage after she filed for divorce.

Mo’Nique Rejects Christianity – Says it's a religion imposed on Black people
*In a candid conversation with pastor Jesse Lee Peterson, Oscar-winning actress and comedian Mo’Nique shared her rejection of Christianity, calling it a religion imposed on Black people.
As Ice Cream Convos reports, when Peterson asked, “You believe that Christianity is the white man’s religion?” she responded, “Well, who toured the tours? That’s a religion that was given to us that is a white man’s religion, that he said, this is our white God and this is what you believe. So, no, Jesse, I am not Christian.”

Mo’Nique urged Black individuals to explore spirituality independently, free from traditional constraints. “I want for my beautiful people… it’s like y’all find it for yourself. And if finding it for yourself means, you know what? I got a husband and my husband got three wives, and all of us are good with that—then everybody good?” she said, advocating for authentic, self-defined belief systems.
“See, I’ve been able to travel the world and I’ve seen where that Jesus is Black, baby—but because we’ve been taught it’s not about the color. Don’t get caught up in that,” she noted, emphasizing how cultural contexts influence religious imagery.

Peterson countered, arguing Christianity transcends race: “Well, Christianity is a result of Judaism. Once you return to the Father, you see that it never had anything to do about color. It’s of the spirit—and in the spirit, there is no color.”
The discussion offered a raw exploration of faith, race, and identity, encouraging reflection on personal spirituality and the historical roots of religious beliefs.

Muni Long breaks silence on marriage speculation drama

Grammy-winning R&B sensation Muni Long has finally addressed the swirling rumors about her marriage to Raysean Hairston, delivering a pointed message to those who believe they understand her private world. In a candid conversation that has ignited social media discussions, the artist known for her chart-topping hits and unfiltered honesty challenged public assumptions about her relationship status.

The 35-year-old singer-songwriter, whose real name is Priscilla Renea Hamilton, has become increasingly vocal about the disconnect between celebrity perception and reality. Her latest statements suggest a woman determined to control her own narrative in an industry notorious for speculation and gossip.

Long’s frustration with media interpretation has reached a boiling point. Speaking with REVOLT, she articulated the modern celebrity dilemma where authentic experiences become secondary to public opinion. The artist emphasized how social media and entertainment journalism often create false narratives that overshadow genuine personal experiences.
This sentiment reflects a broader challenge facing contemporary artists who must balance transparency with privacy. Long’s approach represents a growing trend among musicians who refuse to let outside voices define their personal stories.

The Hrs and Hrs hitmaker revealed her unwavering commitment to emotional well-being, explaining her intolerance for negative environments. Long described her dedication to surrounding herself exclusively with uplifting influences, from people to places to personal choices.

Her emphasis on mental health resonates particularly within the African American community, where conversations about emotional wellness and self-care have gained significant momentum. Long’s stance represents a refreshing departure from traditional expectations that often prioritize public image over personal happiness.
The speculation intensified following Long’s appearance on Real 92.3’s Cruz Show, where she mentioned being married for nine years but acknowledged that the relationship didn’t work out. This revelation triggered widespread discussion about her marriage to Hairston, with fans and media outlets attempting to decode her cryptic statements.

Long‘s recent comments suggest a deliberate strategy to maintain privacy while acknowledging public curiosity. Her approach demonstrates how modern celebrities navigate the delicate balance between fan engagement and personal boundaries.
The Grammy winner’s latest statements carry a deeper message about authenticity in the digital age. Her declaration that people think they know her while actually knowing nothing reflects the superficial nature of celebrity culture. Long’s willingness to challenge these assumptions positions her as an advocate for genuine self-expression.

Her approach resonates with fans who appreciate artists willing to push back against invasive speculation. Long’s message encourages others to question surface-level assumptions and respect the complexity of personal relationships.
Long’s candidness has sparked meaningful conversations about relationships, mental health, and personal autonomy within the African American community. Her willingness to discuss these topics publicly has created space for broader discussions about empowerment and self-determination.

The response demonstrates how celebrity statements can influence cultural conversations, particularly around topics traditionally considered private. Long’s impact extends beyond music into social commentary and community dialogue.
As Long continues navigating her career and personal life, her emphasis on positivity and mental wellness serves as a powerful example for fans and fellow artists. Her journey illustrates the importance of prioritizing personal happiness over public expectations.

Whether addressing marriage speculation or career decisions, Long’s commitment to authenticity remains consistent. Her influence extends beyond entertainment into meaningful discussions about self-care, boundaries, and personal empowerment.

Meagan Good & Jonathan Majors Are Taking Their Power Couple Era To The Next Level With ‘Honor Culture’
Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors aren’t just one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, they’re now fitness and wellness moguls too. The duo just launched Honor Culture, a new venture teased on Instagram on July 7.
One promo reads: “Honor Your Healing. Honor Your Story.” Another simply teases, “Something’s coming. Stay tuned.” With black and white shots that scream strength, style, and serious chemistry, fans can’t get enough of the soft launch.

Meagan’s arms? Sculpted. Her waist? Snatched. Her Curves? You already know.
Meanwhile, Jonathan is giving peak muscle motivation: shirtless with an intensity on 10. One shot even shows him carrying Meagan on his shoulders like it’s light work. Because it is.

The sporty but statement-worthy editorial shoot seems intentional. The couple is letting us know their bond is deeper than red carpets and headlines.
After a rocky public period following Jonathan’s legal issues, they’ve kept pushing. From courtship to engagement to marriage, now to business partners, the cute couple is proving they’re built to last.

Meagan credited Jonathan for helping her get into top shape at the premiere of her film Divorce in Black. She had everyone talking as her flat abs and ice blue cutout gown put everyone to shame that night.
While on the carpet, she told Entertainment Tonight that having a fit, supportive partner helps.
When asked about the secret to her abs, she said. “Mr. Majors.” She continued, “He works out very very hard and that’s the added benefit of someone who is consistent. So, it has changed my life and my physique.

Now we know that Jonathan isn’t just spotting her at the gym; he’s building something even bigger.
We don’t have all the details on what Honor Culture includes just yet. But one thing’s clear: it’s more than fitness. It’s about healing, storytelling, and owning your power.
And with the owners looking this good? We’re sold – might as well get our coins ready.

Sisqó shares his appreciation after Cynthia Erivo praises “Thong Song” as a vocal masterclass

Cynthia Erivo’s tribute reframed “Thong Song” as a bold and dramatic vocal performance.
Sisqó responded with humor and gratitude, calling Erivo a “superb vocalist” and actor.
The moment sparked renewed appreciation for the vocal ambition behind the R&B hit.

Sisqó is giving his flowers right back to Cynthia Erivo after the award-winning talent delivered an unexpected tribute to his 1999 smash, “Thong Song.” During a segment on Entertainment Weekly, Erivo broke down the track with amused admiration, praising the dramatic approach Sisqó brought to a song about underwear.

“There's a praise break at some point... It's ridiculous, you don't need to sing like that. And he does,” Erivo joked. “He's just enjoying himself, and the voice is doing what it's meant to be doing... You can't tell me that that's not a good vocal because it is a good vocal. That's a brilliant vocal for a song about a thong.”

Erivo highlighted the unexpected key change, extended finale, and church-like intensity that make “Thong Song” so unforgettable. “I just love how he uses his voice for something that you wouldn't expect a voice to be used for,” she said. “Hats off to you, Sisqó.”

Sisqó reacts with humor and heartfelt praise for Cynthia Erivo’s talent
Sisqó caught wind of the moment and responded during a recent episode of his “Sisqó Live” podcast. Watching the clip in real time with his team, the Dru Hill frontman laughed out loud, especially at Erivo’s “praise break” description.

He laughed at her description of the song and praised her subsequent sing-along, “Perfect pitch, straight from church.”

He went on to show genuine appreciation for Erivo, calling her a “superb vocalist” and “superb actor,” and shouting out her work in Bad Times at the El Royale and Wicked alongside Ariana Grande. “I was both humbled and pleasantly surprised,” he expressed. “Cynthia, we love you here at ‘Sisqó Live.’ Thanks again for the shout-out. That was amazing.” He also shared additional appreciation on Instagram.

“Thong Song” continues to make noise decades after its release
Released as the second single from Sisqó’s debut solo album, Unleash the Dragon, “Thong Song” became a global hit and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to its infectious hook, orchestral strings, and theatrical delivery. Produced by Tim & Bob, the track famously sampled Wes Montgomery’s cover of “Eleanor Rigby” and featured some of the most memorable vocal runs in turn-of-the-century pop culture.

Trinity Rodman Slams Wimbledon Commentator for Focusing on Estranged Father Dennis Rodman
Trinity Rodman isn’t happy with a Wimbledon commentator’s statements.
The 23-year-old soccer player was watching boyfriend Ben Shelton, 22, competing when a commentator mentioned her estranged father, Dennis Rodman.
During Ben‘s match, a commentator mentioned Trinity being present to support him and referenced her former NBA star father.

Following the match, Trinity took to her Instagram story to scold the commentator that was focusing on her father instead of Ben‘s match.
“Also, for Ben‘s matches he has family there as his support system, which includes his dad… my dad[']s not even in MY life no need to bring him up during HIS matches when I don’t even want him talked about during mine. It’s him and his loved ones’ moment. Thank you,” Trinity wrote on her Instagram story.

If you didn’t know, this is far from the first time Trinity has opened up about Dennis not being in her life. Last year, she said the two of them were “done.”

Craig Robinson Isn't Actually Quitting Comedy, Despite Announcement

Craig Robinson might not be leaving the comedy world after all.
On June 29, the 53-year-old comedian announced his plans to retire from comedy. Best known for his stand-up comedy and roles in shows like The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Craig teased his plans for a future after retirement.

Now, it seems like his retirement may not be what it seems.
Variety reported Monday (July 7) that Craig‘s retirement seems to be part of an advertising campaign for AT&T.
Craig has previously appeared in AT&T commercials and billboards around Los Angeles announcing his retirement appear to be in AT&T’s signature color scheme.

In a video shared the day after Craig‘s initial retirement announcement, he spoke about starting a business. He says, “Hey guys, big shout out to all my small business owners. Hey, you guys got any advice for me while I’m trying to get my business afloat? I hit a few bumps in the road and I sure would appreciate you guys’ tips.”

Although neither the company nor the comedian have yet announced their partnership, it seems to be pointing toward a marketing campaign by AT&T aimed at small business owners.

DeMarco Morgan Exits ‘GMA3’ as ABC Preps Revamp of Show
Morgan's co-host Eva Pilgrim was announced as the new anchor of 'Inside Edition' earlier on Monday.
ABC News is gearing up to reboot its Good Morning America offshoot GMA3 once again.
ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic told staff Monday that DeMarco Morgan, the co-host of the show, “has decided to begin a new journey and will be departing ABC News,” according to a memo obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

“His devotion to journalism and sharing with others is evident in everything he touches,” Karamehmedovic added. “We thank him for his kindness and many contributions, wish him well, and look forward to celebrating his next chapter soon.”
Morgan had been the co-host of GMA3 alongside Eva Pilgrim.
Earlier on Monday, Pilgrim was announced as the new anchor of Inside Edition, the syndicated CBS newsmagazine. And last year Dr. Jen Ashton, who had been a co-host of the show since 2020, exited ABC to launch a health and wellness brand.

With Morgan and Pilgrim out, ABC will need to reboot the program once more, which launched with Michael Strahan and Sara Haines in 2018; rebooted in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic; and rebooted once more in 2023 with Morgan, Pilgrim and Ashton. The trio replaced T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, who exited ABC News in 2022.
GMA executive producer Simone Swink added oversight of the show earlier this year, and the format now carries more of the look and feel of the first few hours, suggesting that the new iteration will have closer ties to the core show.

ABC News has been quietly expanding its bench at GMA, with a number of correspondents and some outside talent joining Strahan, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos at the anchor desk, as well as taking turns on GMA3. That has included ABC talent like Gio Benitez, James Longman and Rachel Scott, as well as personalities from ABC sister network ESPN, with Malika Andrews and Joe Buck among the hosts set to fill in on the morning show.

Whether any of the guest hosts secure a permanent spot on GMA3 remains to be seen. Roberts joined GMA from ESPN, while Strahan was an established sports media personality before joining the show.

Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation Donates $100K to Texas Southern University Marching Band

In a significant boost for student opportunities and program enrichment, Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation has announced a generous donation of $100,000 to Texas Southern University’s (TSU) Ocean of Soul Marching Band. The gift from the foundation, established by the Houston native herself, aims to expand opportunities for TSU students, provide scholarships, strengthen programs with new resources, and help preserve the band’s rich legacy.

The Ocean of Soul Marching Band, recognized as a powerful force representing excellence and achievement, expressed their gratitude for the contribution. A post from the university highlighted the impact of the donation, noting its role in fostering culture, creativity, and community.

This philanthropic effort further cements Beyoncé’s deep ties to her hometown and its institutions. Her connection to the “country” aesthetic, a theme recently explored in her music, has roots that extend from high-profile events like the 2024 Christmas Day Beyoncé Bowl halftime show all the way back to the Third Ward of Texas, where TSU is located. The university’s message concluded with a heartfelt “Thank you @beygood!”, underscoring the positive reception of this substantial gift.

Essence Festival Responds to Target Backlash: “We Get It. We’re In a Contract.”
Essence Festival is facing heat after fans called out Target’s visible sponsorship during the weekend’s events, despite the national boycott still in full effect.
The conversation started in the comments under a festival Instagram post. One user wrote, “Now that that’s settled… let’s talk about Target.” Whoever was running the page didn’t dodge it. They replied, “Let’s discuss, for sure. We are on a multi-year sponsorship with Target. So we fully understand how it looks. Just wanting to speak to the contractual agreement.”

That one reply set the tone. Essence made it clear that their hands are tied. The festival is legally bound to a long-term agreement with the retail giant, and pulling out midseason could come with heavy consequences.
Target has been a financial backbone for the festival for years, funding everything from performance stages to pop-up lounges and community events. Without that support, it’s unlikely the festival would be able to deliver the same scale or secure major names.

Still, the backlash has been loud. Many attendees say Target’s involvement feels out of step with the spirit of Essence, especially while the brand is under scrutiny. Some argue that its presence sends a mixed message about the festival’s values.
Essence’s team seems to be walking a fine line. They’re trying to keep the festival running while being transparent about how sponsorship deals work behind the scenes.

TikTok Prepping U.S.-Only App as Mystery Billionaire Squad Eyes Buyout

In a dramatic new twist to the ongoing TikTok saga, the popular app is reportedly developing a separate version of its platform exclusively for American users. According to The Information, anonymous sources say the company aims to shut down its current U.S. version by March 2026 and replace it ahead of a potential sale to a group of wealthy investors.

Donald Trump recently told Fox News that “very wealthy people” are preparing to buy the app, teasing he’ll reveal the identities “in the forthcoming couple of weeks.” He acknowledged the deal would “likely require approval from the Chinese government,” but said President Xi Jinping would “probably agree to do so.”

TikTok confirmed its appreciation for Trump’s continued support.
“We are grateful for President Trump’s leadership and support in ensuring that TikTok continues to be available for more than 170 million American users and 7.5 million U.S. businesses,” the company said.

Last year, Congress passed a law, signed by then-President Joe Biden, demanding that TikTok either be sold or face a U.S. ban over national security concerns. The Supreme Court later upheld it. Trump, who took office the day after the deadline, issued a stay, a move some saw as legally questionable. TikTok briefly went dark but was restored.

Now, the app is racing to launch its American-only version by September 5th, just before Trump’s third ban extension expires on September 17th.
ByteDance and TikTok continue to deny sharing user data with the Chinese government.
