#RHOA: OH SNAP Is Kandi Burruss MAGA?
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss is facing backlash online after fans began theorizing whether she was a supporter of President Donald Trump.
After sharing a video of her in-depth interview with fellow reality star Todd Chrisley, who was recently pardoned and released from federal prison by Trump, members of the Bravoverse began slamming Kandi Burruss for allegedly pledging her allegiance to the current Commander-in-Chief.

'Real Housewives' Fans Are Upset With Kandi Burruss For Seemingly Pledging Her Allegiance To Donald Trump
Earlier this week, Burruss, who began appearing in episodes of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" in 2009, shared a snippet of her interview with "Chrisley Knows Best" star Todd, who has been on a press tour since being released from "Federal Prison Camp" in Pensacola, Florida, in the summer of 2025.

On her Instagram, Burruss told her followers that the reality star, who stars in the new docuseries, "The Chrisleys," had much to say about his family life, religious beliefs, things he wishes he could change about his legal situation, and much more.

And that's not all that Burruss and Todd touched on. In another teaser clip for the interview, Todd also opened up to Burruss about his finances and the affair he was accused of having with his male business partner.
Although Burruss likely hoped the interview would be met with a positive reaction from the public, she experienced quite the opposite.
In fact, many users rushed to social media to slam the mother of three for allegedly supporting a family that was found guilty of fraud crimes and being a supporter of President Trump's "Make America Great Again" agenda.

On Reddit, a user posted about Burruss' interview with Todd and asked the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" subreddit whether they believed Burruss was a "MAGA" supporter, considering the Chrisley family hasn't been shy about hiding their love for the politician. One user replied almost instantly, writing that the Bravo star only "cares about money ... as most rich people do."

A second user agreed and shared how they believe Burruss has "really proven herself to be a piece of sh-t person ever since she got off of the show." Another person wrote that Burruss could be a Trump supporter because she's "loyal to no one but Kandi. And money."
Someone else also chimed in and blasted the Grammy winner for being "garbage," pointing to her alleged support of Sean "Diddy" Combs and past behavior during seasons of "RHOA."

"Questionable at best. Very dark at worst," they commented.

#HipHopNews: Young Thug Says He's Considering Dropping A “YN Tape” For YSL Records
Young Thug hinted at a new “YSL YN Tape” that may highlight the next wave of Young Stoner Life Records talent.
The announcement arrives amid anticipation for UY SCUTI.
His history of co-signing artists like Yung Kayo and Nine Vicious suggests who might appear on the project.

Young Thug has his sights set on another Young Stoner Life Records compilation. On Thursday (Aug. 7) night, the rapper revealed he wants to put together a mixtape featuring “young kids” in the genre.
“Young kids [are] putting in work. [I] think I need to do a YSL YN tape,” he tweeted. While he didn’t share a timeline — or which artists he has in mind — Thugger has been steadily rebuilding his label imprint with newcomers. Over the years, he’s co-signed acts like Nine Vicious, 1300SAINT and Yung Kayo, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see them involved.

Coincidentally, Yeat confirmed in a Grailed cover story published earlier that same day that he’s been in the studio with Young Thug.
The BUSINESS IS BUSINESS rapper delivered a really great compilation with 2021’s Slime Language 2, his final project before getting arrested the following year. The 23-song effort spawned hits like “Ski,” the Lil Baby-assisted “Paid the Fine” and “Solid” featuring Drake. Alongside a few Young Stoner Life OGs like Gunna, Lil Keed, Karlae and Yak Gotti, the album also boasted guest appearances from Meek Mill, Big Sean, Coi Leray and more.

It goes without saying that we may not see that exact lineup again, or at least not anytime soon, especially with Gunna seemingly parting ways with YSL Records. That being said, Thugger pivoting to focus on a newer generation makes sense, even if it’s not quite the same roster fans remember from back in the day.
Young Thug also has his forthcoming solo album, UY SCUTI, on the way. While the only official release so far is April’s “Money On Money” with Future, the Grammy Award-winning rapper teased more from the project during his Summer Smash set, including an unreleased collaboration with Ken Carson.

While we wait, Young Thug has kept fans fed with features on Lil Baby’s “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber” and, more recently, Metro Boomin’s “Birthday.”

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Weapons’ wins domestic box office race, holding off ‘Freakier Friday’ to #2

American moviegoers are sending a loud and clear message to Hollywood: make quality, original horror movies and we will come.
This weekend, Zach Cregger’s “Weapons” topped the box office, grossing $42.5 million domestically. It’s the second time this year that an original horror was No. 1 at the box office. In April, Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” raked in $45.6 million in its opening weekend.

Both “Weapons” and “Sinners” are distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, which has shown “a great formula for making big horror hits,” says Paul Dergarabedian, senior analyst at Comscore.
“Weapons” has already surpassed Cregger’s 2022 hit “Barbarian,” which grossed $40.8 million domestically. Reviews for “Weapons” were 95% positive, while “Sinners” got 97%, according to review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.

“Horror movies that get great reviews, that are super buzzy, like ‘Weapons,’ can do extraordinarily well at the box office,” said Dergarabedian.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in "Freakier Friday." Disney
The No. 2 movie at the weekend box office was Disney’s “Freakier Friday,” which opened to $29 million. It’s the sequel to the 2003 release of “Freaky Friday,” a fantasy comedy that grossed $193.1 million domestically, adjusted for inflation.

“Having a comedy from Disney with ‘Freakier Friday’ and then having a horror movie at the other end of the genre and rating spectrum really worked. So there was really something for everyone,” said Dergarabedian

“Weapons” and “Freakier Friday” were more wins for the overall box office, which is up 7.6% from this time last year for a total of $5.6 billion, according to Comscore data.
Disney and Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which is in its third week in theaters, dropped 60% in earnings from the previous week, grossing $15.5 million and snagging the No. 3 spot. That brings its total domestic earnings to $230.4 million.

Two movies that opened last weekend came in a No. 4 and No. 5. Animated family film “Bad Guys 2” brought in $10.4 million, while “The Naked Gun,” the fourth film of the franchise, earned $8.37 million.
“It’s a good weekend for the summer to start winding down,” said Shawn Robbins, director of analytics at Fandango and founder and owner of Box Office Theory, adding that Disney’s next “biggest hitters” are coming up at the end of the year — “Zootopia 2” on November 26 and “Avatar: Fire and Ash” opening December 19.

After an Heated Online Exchange Nicki Minaj Squashes Beef w/Former NFL Star Dez Bryant

Looks like things have cooled off between Nicki Minaj and Dez Bryant. Just days after the two traded heated jabs online, with Nicki at one point challenging Dez to a fistfight with her husband, Kenneth Petty, the former NFL star has offered the rap superstar an apology.

Dez specifically expressed regret for referencing Kenneth’s past s*x offender conviction during their exchange, noting that he doesn’t want to partake in two influential people going at it online.

Nicki accepted the apology and offered one in return, and even added a little humor, saying they can still throw hands if he’s down.

Ciara and Russell Wilson are bringing the story of ‘Sarah’s Oil’ the richest Black girl in America to theaters

Russell Wilson and Ciara introduce new film project after opening youth centers in Pittsburgh and Atlanta (Image via Getty)
Russell Wilson, a quarterback for the New York Giants and his wife, Ciara, who won countless awards, is back in the news. It is not only about music or football this time. Ciara announced on August 5, 2025, thrilling information about their new film Sarah's Oil. Sarah Rector, a young Black girl in the early 1900s who became one of the wealthiest youngsters in America after hitting oil, is the subject of the movie. Ciara and Russell Wilson want to highlight this tale, which has been mostly forgotten. The movie will be in theaters beginning November 7, 2025.

They opened a second Atlanta youth center a few months later, in July 2025, and the city honored her efforts with a "Ciara Day."
Ciara shared her happiness on social media and wrote the day was "incredible," tagging Russell Wilson.

Working alongside, the couple leverages their notoriety to inspire and help kids and families.
Ciara and Russell Wilson introduce Sarah’s Oil to highlight history
Ciara wrote on Instagram on August 5, 2025: "Remember her name... Sarah," together with Sarah's Oil's trailer. The movie tells how Sarah Rector, an 11-year-old Black girl, battled to preserve the oil discovered on her property and created history.

She was a millionaire by age 12, and the Oklahoma authorities even attempted to reclassify her race owing to her riches.
Russell Wilson’s Why Not You Productions is working with Amazon MGM Studios to bring this story to the big screen. Ciara called the project a “faith-based story” and asked fans to help share it.
This film shows another way the couple uses their influence to tell important stories that have been forgotten.

Jussie Smollett stages return to TV with Fox’s “Special Forces”

“Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” marks Smollett’s first major TV show appearance since leaving “Empire” in 2019.
The timing coincides with a new Netflix documentary revisiting his past hate crime hoax accusations.
His participation in the show places him back in the public eye amid ongoing legal and cultural conversations.

Jussie Smollett can withstand public scrutiny and, apparently, being pushed to his physical limits too. The actor is making his high-profile comeback by returning to Fox for season four of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” this fall. The grueling competition challenges 18 celebrities and athletes to endure nearly two weeks of military special forces training. The end goal: to be the last man or woman standing.

He half-jokingly captioned an Aug. 6 Instagram post, “It was at this moment [that] I said, ‘I should’ve just done “The Masked Singer”.’” The upload highlighted an article about the upcoming “Special Forces” season, a photo of him in Army fatigues, and an ominous video listing the full cast — all set to the sound of a ticking clock as the soundtrack.

A first look at the gauntlet of tests showed a scene where the “You’re So Beautiful” singer clung to an inflatable boat. Among those who joined him for the once-in-a-lifetime experience are models Chanel Iman and Eva Marcille, and former Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young.

One fan commented, “This will definitely test you. Congrats and I can't wait to watch.” A second follower mentioned, “Every time they try to push you down, the cream of the crop will rise to the top! So happy for you!!” Viewers will find out what the California native is made of when the first episode of “Special Forces” premieres on Sept. 25.

Season three of “Special Forces” crowned “REVOLT Sports Weekly” co-host Kayla Nicole as the winner, beating out former NFL stars like Cam Newton and Golden Tate, plus several Olympians. Season four marks Smollett’s return to Fox — six years after his departure from “Empire” following his 2019 hate crime case.

New Netflix documentary spotlights Smollett’s hate crime hoax accusations
Netflix will premiere its documentary The Truth About Jussie Smollett? on Aug. 22, reportedly offering viewers new evidence and interviews from law enforcement, investigators, lawyers, and journalists. The entertainer claimed two men berated him with racial slurs, placed a noose around his neck, and poured a substance on him while in Chicago in 2019.

The highly publicized scandal went to trial in 2021. A jury convicted him of five counts of disorderly conduct. In 2024, the Illinois Supreme Court overturned the conviction. From the beginning, Smollett has vehemently denied claims that he orchestrated the hate crime.

Now, as Smollett steps back into the spotlight with “Special Forces,” the public has a chance to become reacquainted with him. He’s already shown plenty of perseverance — but will he come out on top of the competition? We’ll be tuned in to find out. Cheers to the new chapter!

After being struck, Mares was transported to a hospital, where he passed away.

Maluma Stops Mexico City Concert to Scold Mom for Bringing Baby Without Ear Protection

Maluma is speaking out about concert safety for young children. Over the weekend, the 30-year-old Colombian superstar paused his Mexico City concert to address a mother who had brought her young child to the show without ear protection.

The performance was part of the final leg of his +Pretty +Dirty World Tour, which wraps up on August 16.
“With all due respect… how old are they?” Maluma asked the mother in a moment caught on video.
“A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f–king high? Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility,” he went on.

“You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”
Maluma’s +Pretty +Dirty World Tour kicked off on March 15 in Barcelona, Spain, and includes 21 shows. The final stop will be in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Halle Berry’s First Husband David Justice Says They Split in Part Because She Didn’t Cook or Clean
Halle Berry’s first husband, former Atlanta Braves right fielder David Justice, opened up about the pair’s three-year marriage in an interview on Matt Barnes’ “All the Smoke” podcast this week — and revealed they split up in part because he felt she should “cook, clean, [and be] traditional.”

The former athlete also admitted the marriage could have worked “if I knew about therapy.”
“My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn’t vast,” Justice told Barnes. “So, I’m looking at my mom — and I’m a Midwest guy. So, in my mind, I’m thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, [be] traditional, you know?”

The pair were married 1993 to 1997, a period that included Berry’s three-episode stint on the series “Queen” as well as her role in “The Flintstones.” Berry also made “Losing Isaiah” during the same span of time.
The years that followed included some of her best-loved, including her turn as Storm in “X-Men” and her Academy Award-winning role in 2001’s “Monster’s Ball.”

The baseball player admitted he’d only been in one relationship prior to dating Berry, which could have impacted his views as well. “Then I’m thinking, ‘OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?’ At that time, as a young guy — she don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem like, motherly, and then we start having issues.”

Berry has since gone on to welcome daughter Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubrey and son Maceo-Robert with ex-husband Olivier Martinez.
Justice offered up another reason for why the marriage failed: Berry’s work schedule.
“We spent a lot of time apart because she was doing movies in this country, that country. And we honestly probably could have made it if I knew about therapy. If we knew about therapy, we probably could have made it,” he said.
Justice married Rebecca Villalobos in 2001 and is the father of three children: daughter Raquel and sons JR and Dionisio.

“Diff'rent Strokes” star Todd Bridges says Gary Coleman's father 'tried to have me fired' from show

It was a summit of '70s and '80s TV veterans when Todd Bridges spoke with Patrick Labyorteaux on a recent episode of The Patrick LabyorSheaux podcast. The two worked together on the 1977 television film A Circle Street of Children, and both appeared on Little House on the Prairie and The Love Boat, but not at the same time. The pair reminisced about their on-set experiences as kids in Hollywood during the drink-from-a-garden-hose era, a great showcase for two men who can make inside cracks about, say, Scott Baio's father.

After talking about his early appearances in television commercials and the landmark miniseries Roots, the conversation naturally turned to Diff'rent Strokes, the quintessential American sitcom which ran from November 1978 through March 1986 — and how Bridges clashed with the late Gary Coleman's father W.G. "Willie" Coleman.
"The first three years, me and Gary were close," Bridges said about his his costar and TV younger brother. "Tight like brothers. Just like brothers," he shared. Then trouble began.

"When [Gary's] father came, everything changed. It wasn’t a fun set to be on," Bridges said.
He continued, "The interesting thing was, Gary’s father tried to have me fired, because at 13 years old, Gary slapped me, and I slapped him back, and [he was] like, 'We’ve got to fire him. He slapped the star!' They were like, 'We can't fire him, Willie. We can’t fire Willis. The show is about Willis and Arnold. We'd be done.'
Though Bridges didn't get into the specifics of what caused that altercation, he offered that he didn't mind that Coleman was the clear focus of the series, despite the fact that he had more acting experience.

"I knew Gary was the star, but I got all the girls, so it was okay," he said with a laugh, adding, "The audience was predominantly young girls. When I came out, they would lose it. So yeah, you can be the star."
Getting back to the TV sibling rift, he said, "Willie Coleman separated us. When the show ended, I didn't talk to Gary. I was having my own issues, And then, as he started having issues, [we got] back together, and we became close again. Very, very close."

Bridges then shared a story about the two of them at an autograph signing event in Tennessee. Gary's health was in bad shape, and he was in a wheelchair. Bridges was aiding him with his chair when Coleman asked, "Why are you pushing me after the things I've said about you?" Bridges assured him, "You're still my brother, man. It doesn't matter."

Eddie Murphy Shares How Beyoncé Stopped Jennifer Hudson From Embarrassing Herself During 'Dreamgirls'
Beyoncé is a girl's girl, and Eddie Murphy just shared the perfect story to prove it.
During his time on "360 With Speedy" for Complex, Murphy recalled his experience shooting the musical "Dreamgirls" with Beyoncé. While sharing his story, the iconic actor also shared the tale of how the "Cowboy Carter" singer saved fellow co-star Jennifer Hudson from an embarrassing moment on set.

According to Murphy, he shot "Dreamgirls" with Beyoncé and, of course, Hudson while he was going through his divorce from Nicole Murphy. (The pair married in 1993.)
As he continued speaking about the film, the "I Spy" actor recalled one of the many memories he had of the two singers.
Murphy shared that in between shooting scenes for the movie, Hudson allegedly noticed her fingers were dry and "ashy."

He went on to say that to combat the problem, Hudson allegedly began "licking her fingers and getting the ash like that," demonstrating how the incident unfolded.
Murphy said that after Beyoncé noticed what was occurring, she "immediately grabbed" Hudson's hand and reportedly said, "'Ooh girl, don't do that. I'll get you some cream.'"
When Did Murphy Film 'Dreamgirls' With Beyoncé And Jennifer Hudson?

"Dreamgirls" was released by Paramount Pictures in December 2006, bringing in over $155 million at the box office.
Principal photography for the film began in January that year and was completed in April.
Also starring Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover, and Keith Robinson, "Dreamgirls" is an adaptation of the 1980s Broadway musical of the same name.

The film garnered praise from critics and audiences worldwide, winning an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Grammy Award.
Murphy himself won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
Hudson, meanwhile, took home the same awards for her role as Effie White.

Salt-N-Pepa Accuse UMG of Trying to Ruin Their Hall of Fame Night

Salt-N-Pepa is launching fresh accusations at Universal Music Group, claiming the label is deliberately trying to undercut their big Rock & Roll Hall of Fame moment this fall.
In new court docs obtained by AllHipHop, the pioneering rap duo alleges UMG is withholding their original two-inch master tapes, the highest-quality physical versions of their music, and has pulled much of their catalog from U.S. streaming platforms.

“Plaintiffs’ Master Tapes hold significant value and are incredibly rare. They are the original, highest quality, physical source material of Plaintiffs’ sound recordings,” the complaint states

The legal clash comes as the group prepares for their November 8th, 2025, induction at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, which will be streamed live on Disney+. The suit claims the situation escalated after they moved to reclaim copyrights under Section 203 of the Copyright Act. In response, UMG allegedly stopped exploiting their sound recordings in the U.S., stripping the duo of streaming revenue and removing fan access to classics like “Push It.”

“UMG appears to take the position that it can unilaterally decide when and/or if a recording artist is entitled to termination. This is not the law, and UMG does not have this power,” said their attorney, Heidi G. Crikelair. “This is an effort by UMG to pressure Plaintiffs into giving up on their effort to recoup their rights to their sound recordings.”

Salt-N-Pepa, who originally filed their suit in May,  believe the label’s actions are a calculated attempt to diminish their cultural presence during a milestone moment. They are seeking damages and the immediate return of their masters, accusing UMG of conversion and copyright violations.

Fat Joe Says BET’s Hip-Hop and Soul Train Awards Suspension Is “Gentrification”
BET’s decision to suspend the Hip-Hop Awards and Soul Train Awards has left many fans disappointed, and Fat Joe is voicing his frustration.
Speaking on his “Joe & Jada” podcast with Jadakiss, the Bronx legend called the move “a form of gentrification” in the entertainment world.

“BET came up as a community station for Black people, right? And urban culture. Our man Bob Johnson took the check. He sold it, first Black billionaire, whatever the case may be. He sold it to Viacom and Paramount. MTV and them. VH1 and them.”
Fat Joe claimed the network slowly began firing key people.
“Little by little over the years, quietly, they’ve been firing a lot of people behind the scenes at BET and everybody who had something to say. I’ve been working on the BET Hip-Hop Awards for three years. The budget – not for me – but the budget just kept getting chopped and chopped and chopped.”

He contrasted BET’s shrinking resources with MTV’s big-budget shows.
“Last year, I debuted my single with DJ Khaled at the VMAs. And Katy Perry’s still flying through the air at the VMAs. They still blowing out of the cannons, flying in the air, got all the tricks, they still got the budgets.”
Joe summed it up by saying, “They kept underfunding them, underfunding them, underfunding them, and you ain’t got no money to be creative. That’s why you was watching the ratchet awards and all that. They ain’t have no bread!”

While BET says it’s exploring new ways to innovate, there’s no word on whether the award shows will return.

Trump threatens takeover of D.C. over FAKE claims of violent crime

Donald Trump took to social media to set the tone for his latest push on crime in Washington D.C.
“We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House. I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before. The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital. The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong… There will be no ‘MR. NICE GUY.’ We want our Capital BACK.”
The tweet hit timelines just as one of Trump’s staffers, Edward Coristine — widely known by his nickname “Big Balls” — became the center of his own crime story.

According to police, Coristine was near Logan Circle in the early morning hours when a group of juveniles tried to steal his car. Witnesses say the 19-year-old shoved his significant other to safety inside the vehicle and confronted the attackers. He was punched and kicked, suffering a broken nose, black eye, and concussion before two 15-year-old suspects were taken into custody for unarmed carjacking.

Emergency crews treated him at the scene, but he refused transport to the hospital. Photos shared online showed his face bloodied, with Trump reposting them and praising Coristine as “incredible.”
The incident quickly became political ammo, with Trump pointing to the attack as proof of what he calls a law-and-order crisis in D.C. The politician says his upcoming plan to move homeless residents outside the city and crack down on crime will happen “very fast,” much like his recent border policies.
