#RHOA: THIS IS MESSY! Kelli Ferrell Hires Costar Phaedra Parks to Represent Her in Court Battle With Ex
Phaedra Parks has been hired to help her Real Housewives of Atlanta costar Kelli Ferrell in court.
Ferrell filed an emergency petition on October 2 after her ex-husband, Chuvalo Ferrell, allegedly interfered with their kids filming RHOA, Us Weekly can exclusively report. The Bravo star said she was awarded primary physical custody of their three minor kids, Chance Ferrell, born in 2012, and twins Chasiti Ferrell and Chelsi Ferrell, born in 2015, in the final judgment entered into their divorce on September 23, 2024
Kelli, 40, said she was granted the authority to make decisions related to the kids’ education, certain healthcare, religious upbringing and extracurricular activities. The reality star described it as having the “absolute final decision-making authority” over extracurricular activities.
In her filing, Kelli said she has allowed their children to film The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “[Chuvalo] has objected, creating confusion and prompting the network to demand judicial clarification before continuing to film the children,” the filing read.
She claimed her ex made threats of “litigation against the network.”
Kelli said the filming had been “immediately impacted.” She said the show producers planned to film her daughter’s homecoming dance but were unsure how to proceed.
“As a mother, my children are a significant portion of my storyline. As such, I consented to their participation in The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 17,” she said. Kelli claimed Bravo and NBC asked for the court to order that Kelli is allowed to film before they continue with the kids being a part of the show.
“I believe participating is in my children’s best interest,” Kelli noted. She said the “memory would be lost” if the cameras were not able to shoot her daughter’s dance. The court documents showed Parks, 51, who is a licensed attorney, is assisting Kelli with this matter in court.
On September 2, Chuvalo held a press conference where he accused court officials and Bravo of “misconduct,” according to a local report. He said he planned to bring lawsuits over alleged defamation and malicious prosecution.
In response to the petition, Chuvalo’s lawyer, Latoya Francis-Williams, told Us, “After reviewing Ms. Potter-Ferrell’s [emergency filing], it is clear the filing is both procedurally improper and legally unfounded under Georgia law. This motion is … an attempt to reopen and modify a final custody decree that has been in place since September 2024.”
Francis-Williams added, “Georgia law strictly prohibits using emergency motions to rewrite final custody terms without a proper petition and proof of a material change in circumstances. What’s most troubling is the timing and intent.”
Chuvalo’s lawyer said her client never consented to his children appearing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Francis-Williams added, “and as their father, he has every right to protect their privacy and emotional well-being. Equally concerning is the decision to return this case to the same judge who previously stripped Mr. Ferrell of his home, business, vehicles, and primary income source without due process. Given that an intent to sue [court officials] has already been filed, this raises significant questions about fairness, bias, and judicial propriety.”
Chuvalo’s lawyer ended, “A hearing is now scheduled for November 7, 2025, and Mr. Ferrell looks forward to ensuring the truth is finally presented on the record. Our legal team will also be pursuing additional filings against those responsible for the misconduct that has caused lasting harm to Mr. Ferrell and his family.”
On October 13, Kelli filed an amended petition in the case listing the same issues.
On Friday, October 17, Kelli filed court docs dismissing her ex parte request, essentially dropping the plea for an emergency hearing. She told Us, “Out of respect for the Court’s time and professionalism, I have chosen to withdraw my Ex Parte Motion. This decision reflects my commitment to allowing our family to move forward while preserving what matters most — quality time with our daughters during their tender years.”
On the same day, Kelli filed court docs to appoint a process server to serve her ex with the legal paperwork. The case is ongoing.
As Us first reported, Kelli accused Chuvalo of being behind on child support payments in July. He said he planned to fight the court order that awarded Kelli the majority of assets in the divorce, including a restaurant started during the marriage.
On top of the drama with her ex, Kelli and her neighbor were recently involved in back and forth which led to the police being called out. They both accused the other of being the aggressor in the situation.
Kelli became a full-time cast member in season 16 of RHOA. She is currently filming season 17 alongside Parks, Porsha Williams, Drew Sidora and a couple of rumored new cast members.

#HipHopNews: Nas Talks A Potential Kendrick Lamar Collaboration
Will hip-hop fans ever get to hear Nas and Kendrick Lamar on the same song? The former is not ruling it out.
Sitting down with Complex ahead of his appearance at New York Comic Con to promote Mass Appeal and Marvel’s new Legend Has It comic book collaboration, the Queensbridge rap legend was asked about the prospect of jumping on a track with King Kenny.
“Oh, man. It’s just all about the artist,” he answered. “When you get the chance to record and work together, for me it should feel really natural. That would be great, I’d love to work with him.
“But I feel like it would have to be smooth the way it connects. Anything I do with anybody, especially someone like [Kendrick], I just want to take my time with it. So we’ll see. Hopefully.”
Nas then modestly joked: “All you MCs out there, give me a call, man! I got some verses here and there. They’re hit or miss.”
Though Nas and Kendrick Lamar have yet to work together on music, the mutual respect between the MCs runs deep.
After Kendrick was announced as the headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show last year, Esco saluted him by writing on his Instagram Stories: “Congratulations to my brotha. Can’t wait to watch the party die!!!!!”
K. Dot, of course, referenced this post on his GNX opener “Wacced Out Murals,” ferociosly rapping: “Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me / All these n*ggas agitated, I’m just glad they showin’ they faces / Quite frankly, plenty artists, but they outdated / Old-ass flows, tryna convince me that you they favorite.”
The Compton native also appeared to pay homage to Nas on that album, with his “Man at the Garden” beat sounding eerily reminiscent of Nas’ equally introspective Stillmatic classic “One Mic.”
More recently, Nas heaped high praise onto Kendrick in an interview with Rolling Stone, crowning him hip-hop’s “North Star” for his ability to speak up when hip-hop needs it, as evidenced on last year’s “Watch the Party Die.’
“Kendrick is one of the brightest stars we’ve ever seen, and I don’t only mean superstar, I mean like the North Star — I think he’s one of those,” he said. “Out of all of the artists in this business, there’s some that’s not here for the art. When we see those people that are not here for the art damaging it, you’re hurting the future of the art. So I think artists like Kendrick are going to speak out.”
Nas continued: “There’s a couple of ’em out there, younger, older that say what they say. I think there was an OutKast video, one of those guys wore a “Hip Hop Is Dead” shirt even before I said it, I didn’t see that until later. It’s just been in the conversation naturally, like any sport you want to thrive. You don’t want the NBA to start slowing down. You want it to thrive. The ball players want it to thrive. We’re going to call out anytime we see it. Sometimes the rest of us won’t see it. Sometimes it’ll take Kendrick to remind us where we are lacking.

White House Drags TMZ Over Report Of Potential Diddy Pardon

The White House on Tuesday (October 21) firmly rejected claims that President Donald Trump is considering pardoning music mogul Diddy.
The denial came after TMZ reported that Trump was “vacillating” on granting clemency to the convicted entertainer
“There is zero truth to the TMZ report,” a White House official told NBC News. The official criticized TMZ for not reaching out before publishing what they called “fake news.”
The White House emphasized that “the president, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations.”
Diddy was convicted in July on federal prostitution-related charges. A jury found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. However, he was acquitted on more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Those charges could have resulted in a life sentence.
The 55-year-old music executive received a 50-month prison sentence. He remains locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His legal team has filed appeals seeking to overturn the verdict.
Federal prosecutors alleged Diddy ran a criminal enterprise through his entertainment businesses. They claimed he used Bad Boy Entertainment and other ventures to facilitate illegal activities. The charges centered on allegations that he transported people across state lines for prostitution.
Diddy built his empire starting in the 1990s with Bad Boy Entertainment. The label launched the careers of artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mase and Faith Evans.
He later expanded into fashion with Sean John clothing and various liquor brands.
The conviction marked a dramatic fall for one of Hip-Hop’s most influential figures. Diddy had previously faced various legal challenges throughout his career, but avoided serious criminal convictions.
TMZ stood by their reporting despite the White House denial. Casey Carver, a TMZ spokesperson, told NBC News: “We stand by our story.”
Presidential pardons can completely erase federal convictions. Commutations reduce sentences without clearing the underlying conviction. Trump has constitutional authority to grant either form of clemency for federal crimes.
Diddy’s time already served will count toward his sentence. This means he could be released in approximately three years if Trump does not set him free and his appeal fails.

Kevin McCall Claims He's On EBT And Chris Brown Still Owes Him Money

Chris Brown and Kevin McCall collaborated on a number of tracks, including the hit single, "Deuces," back in 2010.
Kevin McCall, who is best known for working with Chris Brown in the early 2010s, says the singer still owes him money. He explained that he's currently struggling financially and called on Brown to lend a hand during an appearance on the Back On Figg show on YouTube.
"Why the f*ck I got an EBT card?" he asked after pulling one out of his wallet. He then brought up the success of Chris Brown's ongoing Breezy Bowl tour, adding: "Can I get $25K for them four songs I owe you?" From there, McCall got emotional and broke into tears as he reiterated that he's struggling to make ends meet.
Fans have been having mixed reactions to McCall's interview on social media. "This is an entertainer/athlete who had a short career – as most do – and didn’t find/create something sustainable after it ended. That’s all. He did not get robbed; this is the normal way careers go," one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another added: "He talking like the average person remembers who he was lmao."
While Chris Brown has yet to respond to McCall's interview, Young Thug offered his help on social media. Taking to X, he wrote: "Kevin McCall hit me my n***a, I’ll give u the 25k u need, and i no CB would give it to u also bro he a real one. N****s is busy sometimes brada."
McCall appeared on Chris Brown's hit song, "Deuces," in 2010, as well as his 2011 single "Strip." He put out his own debut single, "Naked," in 2012.
The drama comes as Chris Brown just wrapped up performing on his Breezy Bowl XX tour. He began run of shows in Europe back in June and kicked off the American leg at the end of July. The tour concluded on October 16 in New Orleans. He brought along Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, and Jhené Aiko as supporting acts.

Niecy Nash-Betts, Out100 Icon of the Year, talks visibility, marriage equality, and more
The Out100 issue spotlights the most influential LGBTQ+ people of the year, and Nash-Betts is honored for her show business career, her visibility as a Black queer woman, and her advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights. She married singer, actor, and producer Jessica Betts in 2020 after having been in relationships only with men previously, and Nash-Betts announced her new union by sharing her and Jessica’s wedding photos with the world.
Nash-Betts says she has been told, “When it comes to Black-on-Black love in the queer community, that we are on a very short list of being someone you could look to for representation in that way.”
“It’s very, very powerful, we’ve learned. Because any time we go to an event that is especially for queer people, someone always comes up and brings it up,” she says. “First of all, I love being Black. I love being a woman. And now I’m a Black queer woman in a relationship with another Black queer woman, and it matters.”
And if anyone tries to take equal marriage rights away, Nash-Betts will resist. “Stepping on somebody’s ability to love whoever they want to love is wild,” she says. “It’s wild behavior. And so let me tell you, I would definitely be on the front lines [to fight for marriage equality].”
“Why does it bother you so much? You know what I mean?” she asks of marriage equality opponents. “You just want to lord over people and have somebody to tell what to do. Then have your own baby. Go get a dog. Go get something you could tell what to do.”
The public has known Nash-Betts from her television career for over two decades. In the 2000s, she starred as the hilarious Deputy Raineesha Williams in Reno 911! and earned four Daytime Emmy nominations and one win as host of the home renovation show Clean House. In the 2010s, Nash-Betts garnered more notice and accolades for The Soul Man, Claws, Scream Queens, and Getting On, for which she was nominated for her first two Primetime Emmys.
A turn from doing mostly comedy came with a dramatic role in 2019’s When They See Us, directed by Ava DuVernay. The series told the story of the Central Park Five, Black and Latino teenagers who were wrongly convicted of raping a white woman in New York City’s Central Park in 1989. Nash-Betts played Deloris Wise, the mother of one of the teens. In 2022, she appeared in another drama series, portraying Glenda Cleveland, a neighbor of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Her next project is All’s Fair, a legal drama from Ryan Murphy. Nash-Betts stars alongside Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, Naomi Watts, and Kim Kardashian as a group of high-powered lawyers who leave their male-dominated practice to start their own divorce firm.
Nash-Betts encourages others to come out and live their truth. “Every single person who comes out of the closet, who comes out of hiding, it helps shift society towards more acceptance and love,” she says. “And when you think about a closet, it’s dark. You know what I mean? It’s junk in there. Come from up out of there.”
This year’s Out100 celebration event will take place November 21 at nya studios WEST in Hollywood, bringing together honorees, allies, and supporters.

Janet Jackson Wanted Tupac To Take AIDS Test Before Filming Kissing Scene For “Poetic Justice,” New Book Claims
#JanetJackson allegedly asked producers to have Tupac Shakur take an AIDS test before they filmed a kissing scene for the 1993 romantic drama, according to a new Tupac biography from famed author #JeffPearlman. Pearlman claims Janet, who was engaged to René Elizondo Jr. at the time, wasn’t feeling Tupac’s playboy image and had concerns about how the rapper was spending his time off the set.
Apparently, leading up to the kiss, Tupac made remarks about “overwhelming Jackson with his lips and mouth,” which prompted the songstress to call a meeting with producer Steve Nicolaides. Pearlman says Nicolaides told him Janet didn’t “want to swap saliva with [Tupac]” until test results came back proving he was “healthy and clean.”
He adds that the producer took the request to the rapper, who went on a heated rant against Janet and refused to take the test. Despite the alleged tension, the two went on to film the scene, and Poetic Justice became a cult classic.
Jeff Pearlman’s book on #TupacShakur, Only God Can Judge Me: The Many Lives of Tupac Shakur, drops today (Oct. 21).
Do you think Janet’s (alleged) request was reasonable given the era, or over the line?

David Geffen's Estranged Husband Drops Civil Lawsuit
Three months ago entertainment mogul Davi Geffen's estranged husband, former webcam model David Armstrong, filed a civil lawsuit against Geffen accusing him of emotional and physical abuse [click here if you missed that].
David has decided to drop the case...David Geffen's estranged husband has withdrawn his salacious civil lawsuit against the media mogul, and is choosing another course, which takes much of his enormous money demand off the table.
David Armstrong (AKA Donovan Michaels) filed his civil lawsuit back in July, alleging the 82-year-old billionaire targeted the 32-year-old, whose trauma was weaponized for Geffen's "personal gratification and public image."
As for where the case goes now ... Armstrong's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, tells TMZ he will resolve the financial conflicts in mediation. Fact is, mediation in court is limited to community property and spousal support, so many of the financial claims Armstrong has made will no longer be on the table.

As for spousal support, since the marriage lasted only 23 months, Armstrong would only be entitled to spousal support for a year. Geffen, who's repped by disso queen Laura Wasser, has paid Armstrong $200,000 since their split in February and is paying his $15,000 monthly rent bill.
Armstrong's civil lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice, meaning if mediation is not to his liking, he could re-file the case.
One of Bill Cosby's Townhouses Finds a Buyer

In September it was revealed that comedian Bill Cosby's second New York townhouse had fallen into foreclosure and was listed for sale
While the first brownstone languishes on the market the second more palatial townhouse has been snapped up in a little over a month...
Less than a month after hitting the market, Bill Cosby’s longtime Upper East Side townhouse has already landed a buyer, The Post has learned.
The limestone-clad property at 18 E. 71st St. — listed for $29 million with Corcoran — went into contract on Thursday, Oct. 16, according to StreetEasy records.
The sale price remains under wraps, but the deal marks the latest twist in a turbulent chapter for the disgraced entertainer and his wife, Camille.
Court documents filed earlier this year accused the couple of defaulting on $17.5 million in loans tied to the residence.
The 13,000-square-foot mansion, designed in 1899 by architect John Duncan — the mind behind Grant’s Tomb — stands among the Upper East Side’s grandest Gilded Age holdouts.

The 13,000-square-foot mansion, designed in 1899 by architect John Duncan — the mind behind Grant’s Tomb — stands among the Upper East Side’s grandest Gilded Age holdouts.
Public records trace a complex ownership history: Cosby’s initial purchase was handled through an attorney before being transferred to Camille’s mother and eventually into the couple’s names.
In 1990, the Cosbys accused their former lawyer, Mary Waller, of embezzling funds from that transaction — an early sign of the financial disputes that would follow them for decades.
The East 71st Street mansion isn’t the only property tied to the couple’s mounting debt.
In December, CitiMortgage filed a separate suit alleging default on a $4.2 million loan connected to another townhouse at 243 E. 61st St., which the Cosbys purchased in 1980. That four-story property was listed in April for $7 million and later reduced by roughly $250,000 over the summer as legal battles intensified.
Son of Mango Founder Isak Andic Probed in Fashion Tycoon's Falling Death
The son of fashion tycoon Isak Andic, the late co-founder and former chairman of the Spanish fast fashion brand Mango, is being probed in his father’s falling death last year.
As reported by local Spanish news outlets via The New York Post, a ten-month look into Andic’s death in the Montserrat caves close to Barcelona in December 2024 has shifted the investigation into a potential homicide case. Initially, police said that Andic’s death, in which he fell off a cliff to his death, was an accident. His 44-year-old son, Jonathan Andic, is being probed as part of the investigation into the billionaire’s death.
Shortly after Andic’s death, his son was appointed to the vice-president position of Mango’s board. Authorities deduced that he has given contradictory statements following his father’s death, and his phone is being searched as a result. Sources said that they will be looking through his call logs and the route that he took on the day. Jonathan was the sole witness to his death.
He told police that he was walking ahead of his father on the Les Feixades trial, when he turned around to see him falling off the route. Sources said that investigators found a “series of clues” that indicated it might not have been an accident. Spanish pro golfer Estefanía Knuth, Andic's girlfriend, was one of the last people to see him alive, and she told authorities that “the relationship between father and son was bad.”
Jonathan Andic has not been arrested, and so far there’s no evidence to indicate foul play. Following the reports, the Andic family responded only to explain that they will not comment.
“The Andic family has not and will not comment on Isak Andic’s death in all these months,” the statement reads. “However, they wish to show their respect for the ongoing investigations and will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities, as they have done so far. They are also confident that this process will be concluded as soon as possible and that Jonathan Andic’s innocence will be proved.”

Jennifer Hudson Reveals What Makes Her Relationship With Common Work

Jennifer Hudson is telling you she’s not goin’ away from Common. Nearly two years after confirming her relationship with the “Glory” artist on her eponymous talk show, the American Idol alum reflected on the reasons her relationship with the rapper continues to thrive.
“Our Chicago roots is a huge part of it,” Jennifer told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview at the Daytime Emmy Awards Oct. 17. “We're just similar souls and spirits. He's such a beautiful person, and I just respect him for just who he is, how he is.”
Plus, the Jennifer Hudson Show host—who was nominated for Daytime Talk Series Host and Daytime Talk Series at the ceremony—knows the Oscar winner is a joy to be around.
“He's a blessing,” she continued. “A light. That man is a light.”
And the feeling is mutual for Common (real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn), who has been vocal about his appreciation for Jennifer.
“That relationship is one of the greatest blessings and most important things in my life,” he said on a July episode of the Mama, I Made It! podcast. “The friendship, the partnership, the life partnership… just the connection. Man, it’s one of those things where you don’t know truly what true partnership or relationship is until you get there.”
Yet, the 53-year-old—who previously dated Tiffany Haddish—admitted that he had to “grow and evolve as a person” before he was ready for his latest romance to begin.
“It’s like those things you pray for, you don’t get them until you’re ready,” he continued. “Whatever growing I had to do, it was the divine time in alignment with when Jennifer and I started being interested in each other.”
Though Common and Jennifer had “been around each other” previously—they most recently worked together in 2022 on the film Breathe—he knew the pair had to wait until the timing was right, adding, “We’ve worked together before, but this was the time where we just felt and got to see each other in that way.”
But even outside of their romance, he’s just as taken with her talent.
“It’s inspiring to have somebody who’s as talented and just soulful and gifted,” Common said, “and can do all these different things and is one of the greatest vocalists of all time.”

Tyler, The Creator Faces Renewed Criticism After Old Anti-Black Posts Resurface
*Tyler, The Creator is once again at the center of controversy after several anti-Black posts from his early years began circulating online. The backlash emerged following his tribute to late Neo-Soul musician D’Angelo, which drew a wave of racist comments from his white fan base.
According to The Tribune, Tyler added to the controversy when he liked a post on X that criticized his audience’s selective appreciation of Black artistry. The post read, “Ni**a has charlie wilson, erykah badu, dj drama etc. collaborations and they still refuse to engage with black art on any meaningful level. very cannibalistic.” The interaction sparked an online conversation about the 34-year-old rapper’s anti-Black posts from his earlier twenties.
In one message from February 2014, he wrote, “I HATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH. WHY THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE TO FUCKING SEPERATE N***AS STILL. ‘OH, ITS PAYING HOMAGE TO OUR HEROS’ F**K THAT.” The post quickly drew attention for its dismissive tone toward a key cultural observance.
Many of the resurfaced posts date from 2012 to 2014. In January 2014, Tyler expressed suspicion toward “random Black dudes,” and in another post, he joked about workplace diversity, saying, “Hahahahaha, Some Black Chick Works Here. Affirmative N***a.”
In a post from August 2014, he reacted to the national protests in Ferguson after the police killing of Mike Brown. Tyler commented, “AND BLACK PEOPLE ARE CURRENTLY MAD RIGHT NOW BUT IN 2 WEEKS WILL BE OVER IT CAUSE THEY REALLY DON’T CARE, COOL HASHTAG THO RIGHT?”
Tyler has not publicly responded to the revival of these posts, but as the old tweets circulate again, online discussions have turned to how those early statements align—or clash—with his evolution as an artist.

Trump Special Counsel Nominee Paul Ingrassia Withdraws from Confirmation Hearing After Racist Text Scandal

Paul Ingrassia, the Trump nominee under heavy scrutiny for racist and extremist messages, has officially pulled out of his confirmation hearing to lead the Office of Special Counsel.
“I will be withdrawing myself from Thursday’s HSGAC hearing to lead the Office of Special Counsel because unfortunately I do not have enough Republican votes at this time,” Ingrassia said in a statement released Tuesday.
His decision follows the fallout from leaked group texts where Ingrassia called Martin Luther King Jr. Day a “holiday that should be tossed into the seventh circle of hell,” said he had “a Nazi streak,” and mocked several Black American holidays.
Despite the backlash, Ingrassia offered gratitude to his supporters, writing, “I appreciate the overwhelming support that I have received throughout this process and will continue to serve President Trump and this administration to Make America Great Again!”
The move marks a swift unraveling of Ingrassia’s nomination just days after the offensive texts surfaced.
