#FASHIONFAB: Zoe Saldana for YSL - Spring 2025

Anthony Vaccarello’s latest vision embraces the idea that true sophistication comes from what’s left unsaid. In Spring 2025, power is in the details.
Effortless allure and undeniable confidence. Starring Zoe Saldaña and shot by David Sims, the new Saint Laurent campaign conveys presence, where elegance is not about excess, but attitude.
Saldaña embodies the Saint Laurent woman with ease, wearing silhouettes that blend structured precision with fluid draping, creating movement and showcasing softness.

Set against a plain, metropolitan backdrop, the new images focus on the essentials. There is no ornamentation, no unnecessary distraction, just Zoe. It’s a reminder that true luxury lies in how something is worn and the energy with which someone carries it.
#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Shades Phaedra Parks Ahead of ‘RHOA’ Season 16 Premiere
Kandi Burruss isn't happy with how things are going on this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Burruss left the show but shared her feelings on Kenya Moore's exits from the show mid-season and Phaedra Parks' return to the show. Parks was fired from the reality show after she spread a rumor about Burruss so Burruss' reaction to Parks' return isn't surprising. Her anger was all rooted in the fact that you can see Parks twerking for a few seconds in the trailer but Moore, who started the season as a full-time cast member, was not featured at all in the trailer for Season 16.
During an Amazon Live, Burruss spoke about the trailer for the new season. "Now, I would like to say out of all the things, I was pissed about that," Burruss said. "I personally think that Kenya started this season out at least. We all know that. We're not privy to how they're going edit or whatever whatever. But I'm like y'all couldn't even let her picture be a part of the show? The other friends of the show had pictures. You know what I'm saying? Cynthia had a picture and Cynthia's my girl, I love her. So this is no shade to Cynthia. She needs a picture too. But what I'm saying is, even if, why wouldn't y'all put Kenya in the picture?" She went on to share her upset over Parks getting included, saying "Then you threw somebody else at the end of the clip, honey, a twerk session. For two seconds but you couldn't put Kenya, who filmed half of that season?"
One fan responded in the comments, saying "Kenya is on punishment for her behavior just like Phaedra was on punishment for hers. Actions have consequences." Many fans were trying to point out to Burruss that Parks did suffer the consequences of her actions for what she did to Burruss and now that is what is happening with Moore after what she did to Eady on the show. Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker, at the time, were accused by Parks of wanting to drug Porsha Williams as well as their friend Shamea Morton so that they could take advantage of them.

#HipHopNews: Fans Praise Lil Wayne For Publicly Defending Nicki Minaj

Lil Wayne has fans swooning following his public display of loyalty to Nicki Minaj late Friday night (Feb. 7). His post comes on the heels of former NBA player-turned-sportscaster Kendrick Perkins exclaiming, “I was looking for the Warriors. I'm thinking they're going to go out there and get a Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, but they ended up getting a Nicki Minaj."
Perkins is now finding out that comparing Jimmy Butler to Nicki Minaj was not a smart move. In his mind, Minaj is in a tier under stars like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift when most people view her as an A-list act.
After facing major backlash, the shock jock media personality went on to apologize on social media. His post stated, “Wish I would’ve known about the Barbz before my Nicki Minaj take… don’t charge it to my heart. My apologies, I don’t want no smoke!” Fans have been raiding his posts on X defending the multiplatinum femcee.
One of the most notable defenders of Minaj was her fellow Young Money Entertainment superstar Lil Wayne. The “A Milli” rapper expressed, “The Warriors thought they was getting a Taylor Swift or a Beyoncé and ended up getting a #kendrickperkins Stop playin bish.” Many fans have pointed to the fact that Perkins was never a highly touted player in the NBA; therefore, his criticism for Minaj was unfair.
One fan responded to Lil Wayne’s post sharing, “It's about time y'all started to defend her. I really appreciate this tweet. So much.” This was a kind gesture, especially considering Minaj coming to Wayne’s defense following the announcement that Kendrick Lamar would be performing in New Orleans at Super Bowl LIX’s Apple Music Halftime Show. When the news was reported, she shared positive encouragement for the obviously disgruntled rap legend.
Perkins has been known for ruffling feathers in the past. His former teammate Kevin Durant recently expressed, “I know this may be a reach but this comment is by far the craziest s**t I’ve seen this week,” in reaction to Perkins stating that he was the real leader of the Oklahoma Thunder when Durant and Russell Westbrook were on the same team with him. His exact quote was, “It doesn’t mean your best player is your leader. When I was with the Thunder, it wasn’t KD, it wasn’t Russ, it wasn’t James -- I was the one leading.”

#SUPERBOWLLIX: The Philadelphia Eagles BLOW OUT The Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX with a Dominate Win!
A more fragile team would have folded. It wouldn’t have made it back here, because it wouldn’t have been able to weather the series of storms this Philadelphia Eagles franchise faced along the way.
And it wouldn’t have halted history on the sport’s biggest stage not like that.
But these Eagles were different — defiant, even. And on Sunday night in Super Bowl LIX, they were utterly dominant. Their reward is the franchise’s second Super Bowl win, a stunning 40-22 rout of the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, a resounding victory that avenges a gutting, last-second Super Bowl loss two years ago to these same Chiefs and returns the city of Brotherly Love to the top of the football world.
This time, the Philly Special wasn’t needed. This time, the Eagles’ defense was so devastating that Patrick Mahomes — already a three-time Super Bowl MVP before the age of 30 — staggered through one of the worst games of his seven-year NFL career.
This time, Jalen Hurts left no doubt.
Mahomes, under heavy duress throughout, was sacked six times and hit 11 times. He finished 21-for-32 for 257 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions and a lost fumble, though most of Mahomes’ production came well after the game had been decided. The Eagles led 34-0 before the Chiefs even crossed midfield.
Hurts, who was named Super Bowl MVP, shined, finishing with just five incompletions, 221 passing yards and a Super Bowl rushing record for quarterbacks (72 yards) to go with three total touchdowns.
Philly’s triumph also concluded one of the greatest seasons ever from a running back: With 57 yards Sunday, the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley surpassed Hall of Famer Terrell Davis for the most rushing yards in a single season in NFL history, including the playoffs. He finished with 2,504, further cementing the fact that his offseason signing last March was one of the shrewdest in league history.
Most impressive in the Eagles’ victory, though, was that they routed the mighty Chiefs without needing Barkley to take the game over. This win was a testament to the roster general manager Howie Roseman has constructed and the job coach Nick Sirianni has done guiding his team through a tumultuous two-year stretch.
Philadelphia owned the first half by owning the trenches; Mahomes was hit seven times, sacked twice and hurried on what seemed like every snap. The Eagles raced to a 24-0 lead after intercepting Mahomes twice; rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean — celebrating his 22nd birthday Sunday — took the first back for a 38-yard touchdown, then linebacker Zack Baun’s pick set up a 12-yard touchdown throw from Hurts to A.J. Brown.
Philadelphia enjoyed sizable first-half advantages in total yards (179-23), rushing yards (62-3) and first downs (13-1). Mahomes completed just six passes on 14 attempts for 33 yards; through two quarters, it was the worst EPA per dropback for a quarterback in a Super Bowl since 2000.

It was a rare sight at this stage of the playoffs: One of the all-time greats looked mortal.

It was a rare sight at this stage of the playoffs: One of the all-time greats looked mortal.
Hurts connected with wideout DeVonta Smith for a 46-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, and from there, the decidedly pro-Eagles crowd at Caesars Superdome could start to smell another championship.
Philadelphia’s victory ended Kansas City’s season-long pursuit of history: With a win, the Chiefs would have become the first team in the 59-year Super Bowl era to win three in a row. Instead, they finished as the ninth back-to-back champs to fall short. No team has won three straight NFL championships since Vince Lombardi’s 1965-67 Green Bay Packers.
It was just the fourth playoff loss of Mahomes’ seven-year career.
The Eagles’ second title in eight seasons capped a stunning reversal from where this team was a year ago, reeling from a late-season collapse rife with drama, a coach on the hot seat, two coordinators on the outs, a star player’s retirement and rumblings of an icy relationship between coach and quarterback.
This title sealed the Eagles’ status as one of the league’s most resilient teams.
It was just two years ago that Jalen Hurts sat in his postgame news conference following the Eagles’ Super Bowl LVII loss, sullen but not sulking, repeating the same phrase over and over.
“You either win or you learn,” he kept saying.
Hurts had just thrown for 304 yards and piled up four total touchdowns, only to watch Mahomes lead four straight second-half-scoring drives and hand the Eagles a gutting, last-second 38-35 loss. Before meeting with reporters that night in Glendale, Ariz., Hurts tried to apologize to his teammates in a despondent locker room, wanting to shoulder the blame for a critical first-half fumble. The quarterback was quickly rebuffed.

“Nah man, we’re all together,” they assured him.
At his postgame news conference, Hurts kept leaning on the lessons that would linger. That night undoubtedly stung. But Hurts knew, even with the wound still so fresh, it would make him better.
“It’s something that I know will motivate me,” Hurts said. “I been here (now) … That’s the beautiful thing about it.”
Two years later Hurts and the Eagles made it back — but not without first overcoming the hurdles they confronted along the way. That’s perhaps the most impressive layer to this championship: Plenty of teams would’ve fallen apart.
The Eagles never did.
“A great driving force,” Hurts called that Super Bowl loss. “It lit a flame, lit a fire in me.”
But first came the drama and disappointment of 2023; Philadelphia started 10-1 but cratered down the stretch, dropping six of its final seven, including a 23-point loss to the Bucs in the wild-card round. “We didn’t know how to handle adversity,” tight end Dallas Goedert admitted this week.
More was on the way. Both coordinators from last season, Brian Johnson and Sean Desai, were fired. At least a part of Sirianni’s offensive authority was stripped away; new coordinator Kellen Moore would be “in charge” of the unit, Sirianni admitted after the season. Vic Fangio, one of the best defensive minds in league history, signed on to coordinate a unit that finished 30th in points allowed last season. Longtime center Jason Kelce, a backbone of the organization and six-time All-Pro, retired.
“We’re thankful for that,” the coach said in New Orleans this week, reflecting on the team’s stunning collapse and its aftermath. “As bad as it sucked at the time, I know I’m grateful for that … it shaped us into who we are and it’s a big reason why we’re back here.”
But make no mistake, the heat on Sirianni was intense, both before the 2024 season and a few weeks in.
The 2024 campaign opened with Hurts and Sirianni fielding questions about “a disconnect” in their relationship — it was clear, amid last year’s offensive regression, that the two were not always on the same page. A stumbling 2-2 start did little to ease concerns, and Sirianni — despite being 36-19 in three-plus seasons in Philadelphia — was under fire, and according to various sportsbooks, among the five or six coaches most likely to get fired after the season.
Or potentially even during it.
Then something changed. At the insistence of a few of the team’s top offensive linemen, Sirianni and Moore leaned into their prized offseason acquisition, Barkley. “We wanted to find out how we could become a better offense,” right tackle Lane Johnson said.
The coaching staff listened. Barkley took off. So did the Eagles. Philly ripped off 10 straight wins, claimed the NFC East title and started to resemble a Super Bowl contender. By year’s end, Barkley had put together one of the finest seasons in league history, becoming the ninth player ever to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards. His 46 runs of 10-plus yards were an NFL-best, and he was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year last week.
Barkley was just as explosive in playoff wins over the Packers, Rams and Commanders. His three touchdown runs of 60 yards or more set a new playoff record.
But there was more to the Eagles’ revival than just Barkley. Nearly every one of the team’s offseason moves paid off in a big way. Moore and Fangio remade their units. Behind the league’s best offensive line, Hurts finished with a career high in completion percentage (68.7) and piled up 32 total touchdowns, 14 of which came on the ground.
Fangio’s defense climbed from 26th in yards allowed to first. Draft picks DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell had stellar rookie seasons in the secondary. Baun, another offseason addition, was a revelation at linebacker. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter, the anchor of a much younger front four, has grown into one of the best game-wreckers in the league.
Carter’s unit dominated Sunday night. The Chiefs’ shaky offensive line — which had shuffled through lineup changes all season — had no answer.
It was the latest reminder that Roseman remains the best roster builder in football. The Eagles were stacked. On Sunday night, on the game’s biggest stage, they played like it, spoiling the Chiefs’ pursuit of history and knocking the kings of the sport off their throne.
Now there’s a new champ. Thanks Jalen and THANKS Philadelphia!

Ashanti Reacts to Irv Gotti’s Death in Emotional Tribute: We haven't been on the best of terms lately but ‘We Made History’
Ashanti is opening up following the death of Irv Gotti. On Friday (Feb. 7), the R&B star shared a heartfelt tribute on social media to honor the Murder Inc. Records founder after his passing.
“I can’t believe things ended like this….and it makes me so sad,” Ashanti wrote on her Instagram Story, according to TMZ. “We weren’t on the best terms the past few years but as I’ve always said, through our ups and downs I will forever be grateful for everything that you’ve done for me. We made history and that will remain infinite..”
The “Foolish” singer continued, “I’ve always respected your musical genius and ability to push me to be my best.. All the greatness and positive things that came, far outweigh the dark and negative times. I have always prayed for you to find peace. Sending love and prayers to the entire family. Rest well. Rest in Peace Irv.”
Along with the post, Ashanti also reportedly shared a series of throwback photos from her Murder Inc. days, including an image from the release of her 2002 self-titled debut album.
Gotti, who co-founded the iconic Murder Inc. Records and helped launch the careers of Ja Rule and Ashanti in the early 2000s, passed away on Feb. 5 after suffering a stroke. He was 54 years old.
Alongside his brother Chris, Irv Gotti (born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr.) launched Murder Inc. in 1998 as an imprint of Def Jam, following his success in helping bring DMX to the vaunted hip-hop label. Ja Rule became the flagship artist for Murder Inc., and the label’s first release was his 1999 debut album, Venni Vetti Vecci.
In addition to Ja Rule, Gotti also discovered Ashanti when she was a teenager. She went on to achieve fame with memorable hooks on rap hits and her own solo R&B success. Ashanti’s three biggest hits all came in 2002: Ja Rule’s “Always on Time,” featuring Ashanti, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks; Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?,” featuring Ashanti, peaked at No. 2; and her own “Foolish” spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100.
Billboard recently named “Foolish” and “I’m Real” among the Top Hot 100 Songs of the 21st Century.
Gotti won a Grammy in 2003 for co-producing Ashanti’s eponymous debut album, which earned best contemporary R&B album. He was nominated again the following year for co-writing Ashanti’s “Rock Wit U (Awww Baby),” which was a finalist for best R&B song.
Ye Says He Won’t Be Apologizing For Latest Antisemitic Rant Praising Hitler

Ye is back to his old ways. After apologizing for his previous antisemitic remarks in December of 2023, the artist formerly known as Kanye West has gone on another rant against the Jewish community, declaring that he will not be apologizing for his remarks this time around.
The Friday (Feb. 7) morning X/Twitter rant followed the Bully artist defending Sean “Diddy” Combs, segueing into his thoughts on “woke” culture, then into his feelings on the “unfair business deals” he’s received from Jewish industry execs.
“F**K ALL OF YOUR F**K A** UNFAIR BUSINESS DEALS [ANY] JEWISH PERSON THAT DOES BUSINESS WITH ME NEEDS TO KNOW I DON’T LIKE OR TRUST ANY JEWISH PERSON,” Ye posted, adding, “[AND] THIS IS COMPLETELY SOBER WITH NO [HENNESSY].”
“IM NEVER APOLOGIZING FOR MY JEWISH COMMENTS,” he continued. “I CAN SAY WHATEVER THE F**K I WANNA SAY FOREVER. WHERES MY F**KING APOLOGY FOR FREEZING MY ACCOUNTS, SUCK MY D**K, HOWS THAT FOR AN APOLOGY?”
He later added, “SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE JEWISH AND I DON’T TRUST ANY OF THEM.”
The YEEZY founder later went on to declare that “all white people are racist” and that “JEWISH PEOPLE ACTUALLY HATE WHITE PEOPLE AND USE BLACK PEOPLE.” See those tweets below.
West has previously stated that he feels the term “antisemitic” has been used to stifle the truth, particularly within his industries.
“I don’t like the term antisemitic. It’s been a term that’s allowed people, specifically in my industry, to get away with murder—sometimes literally—and get away with robbing and doing bad [to] people,” West said back in 2022. “You’re saying it’s antisemitic, but I don’t believe in that term. One thing is, Black people are also Jew. I classify as Jew also, so I actually can’t be an anti-Semite. So, the term is actually not factual.”
Netflix Cancels Controversial Prince Documentary Release
A controversial Prince documentary has officially been shelved. Director Ezra Edelman has been developing the six-hour film over the last four years but the project has now been halted, freeing “the vault” to be used in other ways.
“The Prince Estate and Netflix have come to a mutual agreement that will allow the estate to develop and produce a new documentary featuring exclusive content from Prince’s archive,” Netflix said in a statement shared with Variety on Thursday (Feb. 6). “As a result, the Netflix documentary will not be released.”
The official X account for Prince confirmed the news as well, posting a clip with the caption: “The Vault Has Been Freed #FREE.” The video included a message that read, “Despite everything, no one can dictate who you are to other people. The truth is, you are either here to enlighten or discourage.
Although the highly anticipated release has been in the works for quite some time, the decision to block it may not come as a surprise to many. Reps for the Purple Rain artist’s estate previously shared concerns last summer about “dramatic” factual inaccuracies in the first cut of the film. They also stated sources close to the situation thought certain renderings of events were “sensationalized” on the screen.
Edelman, best known for creating the O.J.: Made in America documentary, was “given extensive access to Prince’s archives, with the first drafts for the deal,” according to Variety. He reportedly delivered nine hours of footage, which was three hours greater than the contracted agreement, so the violation of the agreement “presumably enabled the estate to withhold music rights.”
According to a September 2024 article in the New York Times titled “The Prince We Never Knew,” the doc includes an incident about a fight Prince had with his ex-girlfriend Jill Jones, where she slapped him and he “punched her in the face over and over.” The writer describes the film as a work that evoked “amazement, pity, disgust, tenderness,” as it also included portions about his genius music ability, career-defining moments, him leaving his young wife Mayte Garcia after the couple lost their child, and accounts of his own abusive childhood.
Sterling Sharpe Joins Pro Football Hall Of Fame, Making History With Brother Shannon Sharpe

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sterling Sharpe has officially been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, joining his younger brother, Shannon Sharpe.
This milestone makes the Sharpe brothers the first sibling duo to receive football’s highest honor, cementing their legacy in the sport.
Adding to the emotional significance of the moment, Shannon had the privilege of delivering the life-changing news to his older brother in a heartwarming surprise.
The video, which quickly went viral, showed Sterling Sharpe initially puzzled by his brother’s unexpected visit.
“Welcome, bro,” Shannon said.
“To your house?” Sterling replied, still unaware of the news.
With a proud smile, Shannon then clarified, “No, to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
Sterling, visibly moved, struggled to find words. “This is something I…” he began, trailing off before finally admitting, “Oh wow. I need a seat and a drink.”
Shannon then shared how much this moment meant to him, declaring, “To have this moment, and I’ve had some great moments in my professional life, this is the proudest moment in my life.”
Sterling responded with the same pride he felt when Shannon was inducted in 2011, saying, “I felt like that when you went in, and you know I’m not a crier, but when you said that you were in and that weekend in Canton, man, ain’t nothing topping that.”
Before his career was cut short by a neck injury, Sterling Sharpe was one of the most dominant wide receivers in the NFL.
Drafted seventh overall by the Green Bay Packers in 1988, he quickly made a name for himself, earning five Pro Bowl selections and leading the league in receptions multiple times.
Despite playing only seven seasons, his impact on the game was undeniable, paving the way for future wide receivers.
Shannon Sharpe, a legendary tight end and three-time Super Bowl champion, acknowledged the challenges his brother faced.
“The difference is, you had to do this uncharted. There was nobody to tell you what to do, how to do it. You had the hardest job,” Shannon explained.
“Because you didn’t have a guide, you didn’t have Google, you didn’t have MapQuest, you had to do it on your own. And you had to do it and be perfect because I was watching.”
Sterling, humbled by his brother’s words, responded, “I’m happy, man, ‘cause I finally get to follow you with something.”
During the NFL Honors ceremony, Shannon had the honor of introducing Sterling to the Hall of Fame with a heartfelt speech.
“You taught me everything I know about sports, and a lot about life,” Shannon said. “I never once lived in your shadow. I embraced it.”
His words resonated deeply with fans and players alike, as he credited his brother for shaping his career and inspiring him to reach greatness.
The Pro Football Hall Of Fame Class of 2025
Sterling Sharpe joins an elite group of football legends in the Hall of Fame Class of 2025, which also includes:
Antonio Gates – Legendary tight end of the San Diego Chargers
Jared Allen – Dominant defensive end
Eric Allen – Shutdown cornerback
The inclusion of these iconic players makes this year’s class one of the most exciting in recent memory.
The Sharpe brothers’ journey from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of football excellence is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and brotherly love.
Sterling Sharpe’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame not only cements his place in NFL history but also strengthens the Sharpe family legacy as one of the greatest sibling duos the sport has ever seen.
As Shannon said, “This tops it.” And for football fans everywhere, it truly does.
Congratulations!
Pharrell Williams’ movie musical has been canceled
Pharrell Williams’ movie musical has been scrapped. The announcement comes as a surprise to fans who have been anticipating this unique cinematic project since its announcement in 2023.
Golden, the star-studded film about the childhood of the music producer was directed by Michel Gondry but it has now been permanently axed after “unanimous agreement from producers and Gondry that the film did not live up to its developed concept.” Gondry is known for his innovative directing style, having previously helmed critically acclaimed films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
“When all of us got into the editing room we collectively decided there wasn’t a path forward to tell the version of this story that we originally envisioned,” Pharrell and Michel told Variety. “We appreciate all the hard work of the talented cast and crew. While we’re disappointed we can’t deliver this film, we have incredible partners at Universal and will collaborate in a different capacity again soon.” The decision reflects the challenging nature of bringing personal stories to the big screen.
The film featured Kelvin Harrison Jr., Halle Bailey, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Brian Tyree Henry, Janelle Monáe, Missy Elliott, Quinta Brunson, Anderson .Paak and Jaboukie Young-White with Gil Netter, Williams and his creative partner Mimi Valdes, working as producers. The ensemble cast represented some of the most talented performers in contemporary entertainment, making the cancellation even more significant.
Sources told Variety that the film was in early postproduction, and everyone involved has been paid for work completed. This is relatively rare in Hollywood, where project cancellations often lead to complex compensation issues.
Universal is set to absorb around $20 million that has already been spent on production. This figure represents a substantial investment in the project, highlighting the studio’s initial confidence in the concept.
Williams said film would’ve been ‘magical’ “It’s a musical expedition, set in the summer of 1977 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with the spirit of the music [of that time],” Pharrell told Empire about the importance of music to the movie. “You know how in Dirty Dancing and Grease, the music was almost a character? That’s what it’s like in this film. It’s a coming-of-age story about self-discovery and pursuing your dreams, but it’s so much more magical than that. It’s a celebration of Black life, Black culture, and most importantly, Black joy.” The vision for the film aimed to capture a specific moment in American cultural history.
The cancellation of Golden joins a growing list of high-profile film projects that have been shelved in recent years, reflecting the industry’s increasing scrutiny of production costs and potential returns. Industry experts note that the decision to cancel a film after significant production progress is often a difficult but necessary business decision.
The project had generated considerable buzz in the entertainment industry, particularly given Williams‘ track record of success across multiple creative endeavors. His previous ventures in film, including producing Hidden Figures and contributing to numerous successful soundtracks, had set high expectations for this personal project.
The timing of the cancellation coincides with broader changes in the film industry, as studios reassess their approach to musical productions and biographical stories. Recent years have seen varying degrees of success with musical biopics and original musical films, making studios more cautious about these investments.
Despite the setback, both Williams and Gondry maintain active careers in their respective fields. Williams continues his work in music production and fashion, while Gondry remains one of cinema’s most innovative directors. Their statement suggesting future collaborations with Universal indicates that this cancellation, while disappointing, hasn’t damaged their professional relationships.
The film’s focus on 1977 Virginia Beach would have provided a unique glimpse into a transformative period in American music and culture, particularly through the lens of the Black experience. The project’s ambitious scope included period-specific music, costumes, and set design, all of which contributed to the substantial production costs.
Denzel Washington nearly bit his tongue ‘half-off’

Denzel Washington “bit his tongue almost half-off” and is struggling to speak. The incident marks an unexpected challenge for the veteran actor, who has appeared in over 50 films throughout his career.
The 70-year-old actor revealed he suffered the random ordeal some months ago that has been “forced to slow down” as he deals with his “swollen mouth organ”. Washington’s condition highlights the vulnerability that even seasoned performers face in their daily lives.
“That’s why you pray every day. I’m like, OK, Lord, I’m here, I think this is what you wanted me to do. Now I’m not sure why, but one can say coincidence and serendipity and all those things,” he told The New York Times when asked how religion fits into his career. “I bit my tongue almost half-off a few months ago. It’s affecting my speech. It forces me to slow down. I have to use it. I have a line: “‘Whither will you that I go to answer this your charge?’ It’s hard because my tongue is swollen. It has affected everything.” Speech impediments can significantly impact an actor’s performance, with studies showing that clear diction is crucial for stage presence.
The ‘Equalizer’ star did not clarify how he came to cause himself the injury nor did he reveal whether he had received any medical treatment in the wake of it. Tongue injuries can take several weeks to months to heal completely, according to medical experts.
But the Academy Award-winning actor now applies a religious viewpoint to everything in life and has even found that the themes of “jealousy and envy” found in the Shakespearean play ‘Othello‘ – which he is currently starring in on Broadway – have taken on a new meaning for him. This marks Washington’s third appearance on Broadway, following his acclaimed performances in “Fences” and “A Raisin in the Sun.”
“At this point, everything I’m doing is through the lens of what God thinks, not what they think. I don’t know what they think. You go down that hole, you’ll never come out of that,” he said. “When people say, ‘What do you want people to get from this movie?’ or ‘What do you want them to get from this play?’ I always say, ‘It depends upon what they bring to it.'” Washington’s spiritual approach to his craft has been a consistent theme throughout his four-decade career in entertainment.
“There’s some interesting themes [in ‘Othello’] of jealousy and envy and pain and death. And Kenny, the brilliant director, he’s putting it in what he calls the near future. So all of those things — jealousy, envy — it takes on a whole new thing with the information age,” Washington explained. The modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy has already garnered significant attention in the theater community.
Despite his current challenge, Washington‘s commitment to his craft remains unwavering. His portrayal of Othello comes at a time when classical theater is experiencing a renaissance on Broadway, with several Shakespeare productions drawing diverse audiences.
The actor’s career spans over 40 years, during which he has won two Academy Awards, one Tony Award, and three Golden Globe Awards. His current role as Othello adds another layer to his already impressive theatrical resume, demonstrating his versatility as a performer across multiple mediums.
Theater critics have noted that Washington’s current condition adds an unexpected layer of authenticity to his portrayal of Othello, a character whose powerful presence is often conveyed through both physical and verbal command of the stage. The actor’s ability to adapt to this challenge speaks to his professional resilience.
Despite the injury affecting his speech, Washington continues to perform eight shows a week on Broadway, showcasing his dedication to the craft and his ability to overcome physical obstacles. His perseverance serves as an inspiration to fellow actors and demonstrates the demanding nature of live theater performance.
Ben Simmons released by Brooklyn Nets, he hopes to sign with LA Clippers
Ben Simmons may soon be the teammate of the player he was last traded for.
The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers for the three-time NBA All-Star, ending a tumultuous tenure with the franchise that lasted just under three years.
On Feb. 10, 2022, Brooklyn acquired Simmons, guard Seth Curry, center Andre Drummond and two future first round draft picks from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for guard James Harden and forward Paul Millsap. The Australian native played a total of 90 games in a Nets jersey in the nearly three years he was with the franchise.
Simmons, who signed a five-year, $177 million deal with the 76ers in 2019, will reportedly join the Los Angeles Clippers, where Harden plays.
“He’s done a good job competing and being part of our club and our culture and showing up and working with his teammates,” Brooklyn head coach Jordi Fernandez said. “Whatever we asked him to do, he’s done it.”
Fernandez talked more about the now-former Nets player.
“He did his job, and he did a great job, so everything we’ve asked him to do, his role for the team to help us get better himself, to get better, I’ve been very pleased with him,” he said. “The only thing I can say what he’s done since I’ve got to know him and work with him, and I can only say very good things, you know, getting himself into shape, working as any other guy that has worked here really hard every day and going out there and compete, obviously more experience than other guys. He’s got playoff experience and like you said, also the adversity of the injuries. I know that not playing for a season and then limited games another season and now fighting his way back, I think it was like a little over 20 minutes or mid-twenties so that’s pretty good, really good to see that after going through a surgery now, being back playing basketball, he’s done a really good job for us. Like I’ve always said, a very good play maker. Defensively, he has been great for us, and he’s done what we ask him to do, especially pushing the pace in transition.”
Though Simmons will likely never get back to his All-Star form, in a reserve role backing up the player he was traded for nearly three years to the date, he will add value to the Clippers roster.
Cincinnati Residents Confront Hate Group Displaying Swastikas on Overpass

A group of demonstrators dressed in black and holding Nazi flags briefly occupied an overpass in Evendale, Ohio, on Friday before quickly departing when confronted by local residents, video footage shows.
The group, numbering over a dozen, displayed a large banner over Interstate 75 and carried swastika-emblazoned flags. However, their demonstration was short-lived. Video from NBC affiliate WLWT captured residents approaching the group as police officers positioned themselves between both parties. The demonstrators hastily retreated, packing into a U-Haul truck before leaving the scene.
Police with Evendale, which is within the Cincinnati metropolitan area, responded to the situation but stated that no laws were broken.
“The protest was occurring on sidewalks designed for pedestrian travel,” a police statement read. “The protest, while very offensive, was not unlawful. The protestors left the area on their own.”
Many residents, however, expressed outrage at the lack of arrests. “They just let these people drive off and disrespect us and our heritage,” said Lincoln Heights resident Kachara Talbert. “And y’all going to let these terrorists and racists come over here and do that?”
Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval strongly condemned the incident. “Messages of hate like this have no place in our region,” he posted on X. “This is not what we stand for, and it will never be what we stand for.”
The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati also denounced the demonstration, stating, “We will not be intimidated. Our response to hate is to reaffirm our commitment to strengthening community bonds.”
Family of Stephen "tWitch" Boss respond to intimate details revealed in Allison Holker's memoir in "CBS Mornings" interview
Family members of the late Stephen "tWitch" Boss say they were caught off guard by some of the intimate details revealed about the dancer and longtime "Ellen DeGeneres Show" DJ in his widow Allison Holker's newly released memoir, "This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light."
In an exclusive TV interview with "CBS Mornings" co-host Gayle King, Boss' mother, Connie Boss Alexander, and his younger brother, Dre Rose, speak for the first time since his 2022 death by suicide at age 40. They said their relationship with Holker, whom Boss married in 2013 and shared three children with, has become strained amid the promotion of her memoir. Holker and a preview of her memoir were People magazine's January cover story.
"I think people deserve the ability to share their story. I get that. But to -- how it was presented and how it was on a cover of a magazine and there was a public, you know, launch or campaign about it, we shouldn't have to find out about that…in the media. We're a family," Dre Rose told King during a sitdown interview in Alexander's home in Arizona.
Dre Rose said family members were caught off guard by the recent media headlines. Holker's memoir includes personal revelations from Boss' private journals and details of their final days together.
Desire "just to feel closer to him"
Both Alexander and Dre Rose said they'd like to read Boss' journals to have a clearer understanding of what he was going through.
"Just to feel closer to him, 'cause these are his thoughts," said Alexander, adding that she'd like to know more about "who he was and what he was thinking from time to time."
Dre Rose said he'd like to read the journals in all their entirety.
"I think those journals will tell you a lot. I think there's things in those journals that are good and bad, but I also believe there's journals about his personal life, his marital life that are in there," Dre Rose said. "I feel -- believe that there's been a cherry-picking of things from the journal to reveal or share. And if we're just gonna be completely honest, talk about it all."
In an Instagram story posted on Jan. 8, after the People magazine article about Holker's book was released, Holker said, in part, "I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people."
Nia Long and Larenz Tate reunite for ‘Love Jones’

It’s official — Nia Long and Larenz Tate are bringing their iconic chemistry back as ambassadors for the 2025 American Black Film Festival (ABFF)! This year’s festival, presented by Nice Crowd, runs June 11-15 in Miami, followed by an online edition from June 16-23 on ABFF PLAY.
As ambassadors, the Love Jones duo will shine a spotlight on Black storytelling and opportunities for creators of color in film and television. But that’s not all—ABFF is rolling out a special event, “ABFF Remembers: Love Jones,” featuring an intimate conversation and musical tribute to celebrate the movie’s lasting impact. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes stories, heartfelt reflections, and a dose of that classic on-screen magic from Long and Tate.
Tate, who played the smooth and poetic Darius Lovehall, has long acknowledged Love Jones as a defining moment for Black love in cinema. At a 2023 empowerment event at the historic 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., he was asked about a Love Jones reboot. His response? “It would be hard for us to catch lightning in a bottle twice.”
Well, Gen X fans seem to disagree—they’re already swooning over this reunion!
Tate went on to tease a possible new project with Long, saying: “Nia and I have been trying to figure out what that would look like. Maybe a TV show? A movie franchise? We’ve discussed everything because we know what Love Jones meant to people. We don’t want to disrupt that—we want to create something just as special.”
Whatever they’re cooking up, one thing’s for sure — ABFF 2025 is about to be legendary!
Jessica Alba Officially Files For Divorce From Cash Warren After 17 Years Of Marriage
Jessica Alba filed for divorce from Cash Warren after nearly 17 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing their separation date as December 27, 2024.
The actress, 43, and Cash Warren, 46, are requesting joint custody of their three children—Honor, 16; Haven, 13; and Hayes, 7. They did not have a prenuptial agreement, despite their substantial business assets. Alba shared on Instagram that she and Cash Warren were “moving forward with love and kindness” as co-parents. Reflecting on their relationship, she wrote, “I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple…and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Earlier, Cash Warren admitted that jealousy had caused their breakup early on, stating, “We broke up…It was jealousy. I was turning into an a–hole.” Their marriage faced challenges, with Alba acknowledging in 2021 that they had been “going through the motions.”

Marcus Jordan Enters Not-Guilty Plea To DUI, Cocaine Possession, And Resisting Arrest Charges

Marcus Jordan, 34, pleaded not guilty to his second-degree misdemeanor DUI charge, as reported by People. His attorneys requested a jury trial and waived his first court appearance, with a pretrial conference scheduled for March 20.
The same day, Jordan also pleaded not guilty to a felony cocaine possession charge and a first-degree misdemeanor charge for resisting an officer without violence. His attorneys have also requested a jury trial for these non-DUI charges although a court date has yet to be set.
Jordan's arrest stem from an incident on February 4 when officers noticed his Lamborghini SUV stopped on train tracks in Maitland, Florida. According to the arrest report, Marcus admitted to consuming alcohol that evening and said he made a "wrong turn" onto the tracks

He was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test and a small bag of white substance, which tested positive for cocaine, was found inside his pocket.
Bodycam footage later revealed that Jordan asked officers for help getting his car off the tracks while under the influence. He also identified himself as Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan's son.

Six of R. Kelly’s Abuse Victims Pursue $10.3 Million Judgment as Embattled Singer Faces 27-Year Sentence

Even while serving a 27-year prison sentence, R&B singer R. Kelly remains at the center of a battle waged by his abuse victims looking to collect a significant judgment against him.
Six survivors have filed a lawsuit claiming that they are still owed over $9.9 million from a $10.3 million judgment awarded to them in 2022. This courtroom clash highlights not only the continuing fallout from Kelly’s alleged crimes but also the tenacity of the survivors in their fight for justice.
The plaintiffs—Lizette Martinez, Lisa Van Allen, Kelly Rodgers, Faith Rodgers, Roderick Gartell, and Gem Pratts—have publicly shared their stories in the Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly.” They detailed their abuse at the hands of the disgraced singer, giving voice to many who felt silenced for years.
According to their filing in the Manhattan Supreme Court, they claim to have received only two payments totaling less than $500,000 since being awarded the judgment, which indicates an ongoing struggle to collect the funds they are owed, the NY Post is reporting.
In August 2023, a court ordered Kelly to pay the six victims $5.1 million in combined compensatory damages and an additional $4.5 million in punitive damages. Their legal team argues that with the accrual of daily interest amounting to $2,450.30, the total owed has compounded significantly.
As the trial and subsequent convictions have highlighted the severity of Kelly’s actions, it is evident that the victims are determined to secure the compensation they believe they rightfully deserve.
In their latest legal maneuver, the victims are suing not only R. Kelly but also Universal Music, the former record label that once propelled the singer to superstar status. Despite Kelly’s co-publishing agreement with Universal Music ending in 2019, the company is still contractually bound to collect revenues on his behalf. The plaintiffs’ court documents argue that any music royalties earned should be directed toward repaying the judgment they won against Kelly.
This lawsuit also targets Kelly’s imprisoned former manager, Donnell Russell, and IndyBuild, a revenue-sharing platform aimed at helping independent artists. By bringing multiple parties into the lawsuit, the victims seek to widen their options for collecting what they are owed, bolstering their chances of financial restitution from various sources connected to the singer’s career.
R. Kelly, once beloved by millions of fans who purchased his albums, faced a downfall starting in the 1990s as allegations of abuse surfaced. Over the subsequent decades, he navigated a turbulent legal landscape, including being acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008. However, following a renewed investigation and public exposure of his actions, Kelly was ultimately convicted in 2022 on multiple counts, including the production of child pornography and enticing minors for sex.
The victims’ pursuit of justice reflects not only their personal struggles but also the broader movement against sexual abuse and the enduring impact of Kelly’s actions. As they continue their fight in court, it remains clear that these survivors are committed to holding Kelly and those associated with him accountable for the harm he inflicted upon them, ensuring their stories remain told and recognized.
With mounting pressure and a relentless legal battle, the outcome of this lawsuit could set a precedent for similar cases and underscore the importance of supporting victims in their quests for justice and financial restitution. As the saga unfolds, the focus will remain on the survivors, their resilience, and their unwavering demand for accountability.
