Doechii’s accolades basket is fullup with a Grammy, a BET Award for best female hip-hop artist, a top-10 single and now as Vogue was going to press [July 15 on newsstands], a British gig as a headliner at Glastonbury.
She was the first female rapper signed to Top Dawg Entertainment [TDE], a label known for artists like Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
‘Anxiety’ is so well done, but even better for Anne’s taste is Doechii on the Colbert Late Show performing a medley of “Boiled Peanuts” and “Denial is a River”. This girl has something to say. What choreographed delivery!

Last month, the artist headlined Washington, DC’s World Pride Festival 2025, and immediately got on a plane heading west to the June 9th BET event. There was little time for Apple News in her itinerary.
Lady Gaga Heaps Praise on Doechii. Jazmine Hughes reached out to Lady Gaga about music’s new ‘it girl’; Mother Monster’s response was honest and effusive.
“You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me,” she replied.
Gaga continued, delivering the supreme accolades that artists dream about hearing from a fellow artist of her status:

“I fell in love with her music and her raw, deeply personal perspective. The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild ix of audacity and emotional precision — it struck me to the core.”
Doechii shares similar respect, expressing her love of Mother Monster.

#RHOA: Brit Eady Announces Her Exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta After 1 Season
Brit Eady is departing The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The TV personality, 37, announced in an Instagram post on Monday, July 14, that she has decided to exit the Bravo series after one season.

Eady began her announcement by stating that she is ready to "close this chapter."
“I want to thank everyone who supported me, my friends, my followers, my amazing team, and everyone who defended my name,” she wrote. “I decided to walk away from something that no longer serves me because I choose peace over destroying my mental [health].”
“It’s very easy to say what I should have done, when most have not walked a day in my shoes," she continued. “I choose ME, and a lot of ppl can’t say they choose themselves.”

“I still have a lot of healing left to do, but you can’t heal in the same place that made you sick,” she added, before concluding, “I don’t owe anyone closure, I only owe myself to do what’s best for me. My journey here is done.”
Her departure follows her decision to not to take part in RHOA's season 16 reunion.

The reunion aired its first part on Sunday, July 13, while the remaining two parts will air on Sunday, July 20 and Sunday, July 27.
Eady opted out of the reunion after former castmate Kenya Moore shared explicit images of someone she alleged was Eady. However, Eady claimed in June that the photos were not of her.

At the time of the incident, Moore, 54, displayed graphic images blown up on a poster board of a woman performing oral sex at her hair spa opening in June 2024. It was presumed that the photos were of Eady, who Moore was feuding with at the time. Moore was ultimately suspended before she exited the series following an internal investigation.

A year later, on Thursday, June 5, sources told us that Moore was "not invited" to attend the reunion taping.
“The events of this season have devastated me, and while I cannot say much right now, I do want to set the record straight about one thing: the graphic sexual photo surrounding the events in Episode 5. That photo was not me," Eady wrote.
“I do not know who was in that photo, but upon seeing it for the first time recently, I now know it was not me,” Eady continued in her statement. “I look forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark part of my life."

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, and episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.

#MusicNews:Tyla Has a New Song ‘Is It’

Tyla is preparing the soundtrack for this summer, starting with her new single “Is It,” which recently dropped Friday. “Is it wrong that I wanna get right/ Wanna get right with you?” she bellows in the chorus with background chanting vocals from the sparkly teaser clip she posted on Instagram earlier this week.

The South African star told Billboard that she was “not saying too much” about new music ahead of her hosting gig at the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards in June, when she also favorite global music star. “You guys are gonna know when you’ll know. And it’s gonna be a vibe. We outside. We’re catching party vibes,” she said at the time, adding that she had “fun” recording “Everything Goes With Blue” from the Smurfs Movie Soundtrack. “I love The Smurfs. And Rihanna being Smurfette, it’s such a fun Smurf movie. So I’m happy that I’m a part of that one.”

LISTEN HERE:

“Is It” is Tyla’s second solo single this year following “Bliss,” which reached No. 11 on Hot R&B Songs and No. 14 on Rhythmic Airplay. She first teased the single at her debut Coachella performance in April, when she also performed the Billboard Global 200 top 10 hit “Show Me Love” alongside fellow South African rapper WizTheMC for the first time. It’s unclear if “Bliss” and “Is It” will be featured on her forthcoming sophomore album that she first teased to Billboard in her Women in Music interview earlier this year.

“I’ve changed a lot in a short amount of time because I was kind of forced to with how fast I had to adapt to everything,” she said at the time. “I don’t think it’s going to be the same energy [as Tyla] at all, especially with what I’ve started making. It’s different, but also still Tyla.”

Beyoncé’s Unreleased Music Files, Tour Materials Stolen Before Atlanta ‘Cowboy Carter’ Show

Beyoncé’s unreleased music may have fallen into the wrong hands as a vehicle was robbed before the Atlanta stop of her Cowboy Carter Tour.
The break-in was reported by Bey’s choreographer and one of her dancers, who said thieves broke into their SUV and stole several items. The perpetrators took two suitcases, jump drives containing unreleased music, footage plans for the Houston superstar’s show, past and future set lists, and more, per WSB-TV.

According to local police, the incident happened around 8 p.m. on July 8, 2025, inside a parking deck at Krog Street Market. This places the event just 48 hours prior to the mother of three kicking off her ATL shows. A reporter for the outlet learned Monday evening (July 14) that an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect.
Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue reported the crime to the authorities. They said someone broke in through the back lift gate and robbed their rental black Jeep Wagoneer while it was stationed in a parking deck around 8:09 p.m. Detectives confirmed to WSB-TV that the break-in was captured on surveillance cameras, and the scene was dusted for fingerprints. No suspects have been identified.

“Mr. Grant advised he was also carrying some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé,” an officer wrote in the incident report.
“He advised he was her choreographer and Mr. Diandre Blue was a dancer for her and that her hard drives for her upcoming show in Atlanta were stolen also. The hard drives contained water marked music, some un-released music, footage plans for the show and past and future set lists,” the officer added in the police report.

Other members of Bey’s team reported clothes, designer sunglasses, laptops, and a pair of AirPods Max headphones were stolen from the vehicle as well.

Azealia Banks Blasts Conor McGregor for Allegedly Sending Her Creepy Nude Pics
Azealia Banks isn’t one to hold back and she’s got Conor McGregor in her sights. The rapper took to Twitter to accuse the UFC fighter of sliding into her Instagram DMs with unsolicited nude photos. Hers was more than a simple callout, though. Banks seethed: “How you gonna send a b***h some crooked d**k pics then threaten her not to tell. @TheNotoriousMMA nigga do you know who the f**k I am?”
She piled on, mocking the quality of the unsolicited shots: “Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d**k then threaten me not to tell?? Honey… ain’t u trying to be the president of Ireland what is it giving fam?”

Banks’s tweet raises serious allegations of sexual harassment and coercion. McGregor has faced accusations of sexual assault in the past, making these latest accusations all the more unsettling.

So far, McGregor hasn’t responded publicly. His camp has remained tight-lipped, and the UFC star’s silence only adds fuel to the fire.
Banks, on the other hand, posted another screenshot seemingly showing that McGregor had scrubbed the images from their messages.

Sesame Workshop regains control of Elmo’s hacked X account after racist posts

Sesame Workshop regained control of its Elmo account on the X platform Monday after a hacker gained access and posted a string of racist and antisemitic messages.
“Elmo’s X account was compromised by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting messages, including antisemitic and racist posts,” Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind “Sesame Street” and Elmo, said in a statement Monday.

The account was compromised over the weekend and instead of the usual posts of encouragement and kindness, Elmo’s 650,000 followers were given antisemitic threats and a profane reference to the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking investigation. Those tweets were soon deleted.

X did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Elmo’s social media account has lately become a place for mental health awareness. Last year, the red fuzzy monster, eternally 3 ½, caused a sensation when he asked: “Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?” It prompted responses from then-President Joe Biden and Chance the Rapper.

Skai Jackson Says She’s ‘Worried’ About Her Postpartum Hair Loss
Women go through many changes before, during, and after giving birth. Postpartum hair loss is one of those changes, and actress Skai Jackson is talking about it. The actress shared her experience with the condition in a video shared on social media.
“So ya’ll know I lost my edges,” she said, adding that the filter she was using made it look a little bit worse. “But I’m getting nervous because I’m brushing my hair and it seems like a lot of strands are coming out and I hope my hair is not falling out because of postpartum.” Jackson also asked social media fans how long postpartum shedding lasts.

“Maybe I should go to the doctor and see if I have a deficiency. It could be a vitamin D deficiency or something like that, to really pinpoint it,” she concluded.
Postpartum shedding is a common condition that people who have given birth experience– up to 90% of women experience hair loss three to five months after giving birth. While Skai did point out noticeable shedding in the front of her hair, her overall appearance looks healthy.

The new mom shared the news that she gave birth to her first child, named Kasai, in January. The 23-year-old gave birth shortly after announcing her pregnancy back in November.
The Disney alum had her first bundle of joy with Deondre Burgin, 21. Their relationship was pretty low-key, but they have had their fair share of negative press over the past year. Jackson was granted a restraining order in May after she accused Burgin of attacking her on Mother’s Day while she was holding their infant.

Despite going through postpartum hair loss and challenges with the father of her child, Jackson is fully leaning into motherhood and learning on the job.
“I’ve learned how strong I am in this process of being a young mom,” she told E! News at the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood event in February. “There’s so many favorite moments. Just seeing my baby every day, it’s just an amazing moment. Seeing them grow, each day by each day. And just being a mom and getting back to work, that’s another favorite thing of mine. Being able to balance both.”’

The Jessie actress also shared her favorite motherhood moments and reminded us that it’s the little things that matter most. “There’s so many favorite moments,” she said. “I feel like just seeing my baby every day. It’s just an amazing moment seeing them grow each day by each day.”
Sending love to all the mamas out there navigating postpartum and all the nuances that come with it.

Boy George Doesn’t Think Modern LGBTQ+ Identity Politics Have ‘Helped Anyone’

Boy George has never been one to play by the rules. The queer icon born George Alan O’Dowd who blazed trails in the early 1980s as the androgynous, heavily made-up lead singer of Culture Club is still bucking against the system.
In an interview with The Times on Friday (July 11), George, 64, pushed back against the “identity politics” of the modern queer community. “I don’t think it’s helped anyone. We’re not a thing,” he told the publication. “It’s like, ‘This is what black people are, this is what Jewish people are, this is what trans people are.’ No! Everybody is diverse because nobody is like anybody else, so you’re starting from the wrong perspective.”

At a time when increased acceptance and visibility — amidst the current U.S. administration’s efforts to roll back transgender rights — have put the LGBTQ+ community in the spotlight, the “Karma Chameleon” singer said he thinks reality and what we experience online are very different things. “Trans people are the new people to hate, but I always say: How many trans people have you met today?” he said. “There’s the world on the internet, which is hideous and full of anger. Then there’s the real world, which is entirely different so in reality people have nothing to be nervous about.

In his trademark biting wit, he added, “If I’m really lucky my own sexuality takes up about three hours a month. We’ve all got cats to feed, families to visit, jobs to do. I said in an interview when I was 17, ‘Being gay is like eating a bag of crisps. It’s so not important.’ I still think that now. What do you care about someone’s sexuality unless you’re going to have sex with them?
While George was hit with accusations of transphobia in 2020 when he tweeted “Leave your pronouns at the door,” he’s recently defended trans rights in a social media dust-up with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. The billionaire author has denied being transphobic despite sharing a number of anti-transgender views online, including actively participating in campaigns to bar trans women from sports and from using public restrooms that align with their gender. Last month, he responded to Rowling’s question, “which rights have been taken away from trans people?” and her follow-up comment about her feelings that her speech is being curtailed by writing, “The right to be left alone by a rich bored bully!“

The subject of trans lives came up in a discussion about George’s drive to revive his Tony-nominated 2002 musical Taboo, which chronicled the hedonistic 1980s nightclub of the same name founded by Leigh Bowery, the Melbourne-born performance artist/club promoter whose outrageous performances inspired a young George.
“What I want to explore in the show is the odd relationship between Leigh and his wife, Nicola Bowery,” he said. “Long before non-binary, here’s a gay guy who married a straight woman and there was real tenderness and love between them. Yes, part of the reason he married Nicola was to piss everyone off, but I do think he really loved her.”

According to the writer’s reckoning, for George, outliers like himself and Bowery were birthed from a period when the idea was to present your true self, without trying to “represent a wider community who identify as queer, non-binary” or any other label. ““Oh totally. Someone said the other day, ‘Leigh Bowery was the blueprint for gay identity. He would have hated that. Hated it!,'” said George.

LGBTQ+ poet Andrea Gibson loses deadly cancer fight

Colorado has lost one of its most passionate and influential voices with the death of Andrea Gibson, the state’s current poet laureate who transformed personal pain into powerful art that resonated with audiences across the nation. The Boulder-based slam poet and LGBTQIA+ activist passed away after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Governor Jared Polis announced Gibson’s death Monday, describing the loss as deeply felt throughout Colorado’s literary and activist communities. The poet, who used they/them pronouns, had served as the state’s poetry ambassador since September 2023, bringing their unique blend of vulnerability and strength to stages across Colorado.

Gibson’s journey to becoming one of America’s most celebrated spoken-word poets began in Calais, Maine, but truly flourished after moving to Boulder in 1999. Their distinctive style combined raw emotional honesty with sharp social commentary, creating performances that felt both intimate and universally powerful.

As a four-time Denver Grand Slam Champion, Gibson established themselves as a formidable presence in the competitive spoken-word scene. Their performances tackled complex subjects including LGBTQIA+ rights, spirituality, feminism, mental health, gun reform, and systemic oppression with a rare combination of fierce advocacy and tender humanity.
The poet’s work resonated far beyond traditional poetry circles, earning them recognition as the “rock star of spoken-word poetry.” Their ability to address difficult topics while maintaining hope and connection made their performances transformative experiences for audiences seeking both entertainment and enlightenment.

Gibson’s most profound challenge came in 2021 with an ovarian cancer diagnosis that initially seemed like a minor health issue. What began as symptoms they mistook for a stomach bug evolved into a life-altering battle that would become central to their artistic expression and public advocacy.

Rather than retreating from public life, Gibson chose to share their cancer journey openly, using their platform as poet laureate to document the experience through writing and performance. This transparency became a source of strength for countless others facing similar battles, demonstrating how vulnerability can become a powerful tool for connection and healing.

The poet’s willingness to explore their cancer experience artistically culminated in the documentary “Come See Me in the Good Light,” which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The film, which chronicled Gibson’s journey since receiving their diagnosis, captured both the devastation and resilience that characterized their approach to life’s most challenging moments.
The Sundance documentary received the festival’s Favorite Award, determined by audience vote and representing recognition from viewers across all genres. This honor reflected Gibson’s ability to connect with diverse audiences through authentic storytelling that transcended traditional boundaries between poetry, activism, and personal narrative.

Gibson’s appointment as Colorado’s poet laureate represented the culmination of decades of dedicated work in both literary and social justice spheres. The position, which involves advocating for poetry, literacy, and literature through readings at schools, libraries, festivals, and community events, seemed tailor-made for someone whose entire career centered on using words to create positive change.

The role allowed Gibson to formalize their long-standing commitment to arts education and community engagement. Their work reached beyond traditional poetry audiences to include students, educators, and community members who might not otherwise encounter spoken-word performance.
Gibson’s influence extended far beyond their official duties as poet laureate. Their presence in Colorado’s literary scene helped elevate the state’s reputation as a destination for innovative artistic expression. Boulder, in particular, became associated with Gibson’s unique brand of socially conscious poetry that combined personal revelation with political action.

The poet’s work consistently challenged audiences to examine their own assumptions and biases while providing language for experiences that often felt impossible to articulate. Their exploration of gender identity, mental health struggles, and social justice issues created space for conversations that might not have happened otherwise.

Gibson’s legacy includes not only their published works and recorded performances but also the countless individuals who found their voice through exposure to Gibson’s fearless approach to artistic expression. Their influence on emerging poets and activists will continue to shape Colorado’s cultural landscape for generations to come.
Throughout their career, Gibson demonstrated that poetry could serve as both personal healing and social catalyst. Their willingness to share their most vulnerable moments—from struggles with identity and mental health to their cancer journey—created permission for others to embrace their own authenticity.

The poet’s final chapter, facing terminal illness with characteristic courage and openness, embodied the principles they had advocated throughout their career. By documenting their cancer experience and sharing it through multiple media, Gibson transformed personal tragedy into communal strength.
Gibson’s death represents not just the loss of a talented artist but the conclusion of a life dedicated to using words as tools for justice, healing, and connection. Their example continues to inspire others to find their voice and use it courageously in service of both personal truth and collective progress.

Seventeen Thirty Gain? Fetty Wap Looking Swole In New Prison Photos
Recent jail photos of rapper Fetty Wap show he’s been seriously hitting the gym, and he’s looking swole.
The pics went viral, with many people commenting on how big he looks behind bars. Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell II, has been locked up since 2022. The NJ artist was arrested for allegedly being part of a major drug trafficking ring. Prosecutors said Fetty and his crew were moving large amounts of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack between New Jersey and Long Island.

The operation used mail and hidden car compartments to move drugs. He pleaded guilty and in 2023, was sentenced to six years in prison, plus five years of supervised release afterward. He also got in more trouble for threatening someone on FaceTime while holding a gun, which broke the rules of his release.
Before all this, Fetty Wap was on top of the world. He blew up in 2014 with his hit single “Trap Queen,” which told the story of a ride-or-die love set in the drug game. The song went viral, hit #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and helped launch his music career. His self-titled debut album in 2015 had more hits like “679” and “My Way,” and his mix of singing and rapping stood out in the Hip-Hop scene.

Now, even though he’s behind bars, Fetty’s name is still buzzing, just for very different reasons than before. Mr. 1738 has been in that jail gym heavy, here’s what folks had to say.

Teyana Taylor Shares Rare Comment on Aaron Pierre Romance

Teyana Taylor is gushing about her relationship with Aaron Pierre.
The 34-year-old singer confirmed her relationship with the 31-year-old actor earlier this year. In an interview with Complex, Teyana shared a rare glimpse at their relationship.
Teyana and Aaron were rumored to be together after being spotted out at events earlier in 2025. The singer confirmed their relationship with the release of a short promotional film for her upcoming album that features Aaron.

“I feel like you gotta handle me like a cup of tea. How would you walk with a cup of tea versus how you would walk with a bottle of water?” Teyana said in the interview. “A cup of tea, you walk slower, you’re more calm, you’re more delicate, and even when you sip it, what happens if you sip the tea too fast? Burn your tongue.”
Teyana went on to compare herself to a cup of tea and said that Aaron understands that about her.

“I am a cup of tea, and I feel like he handles me as such. He’s very, very gentle. It allows me to feel warm and and to feel safe, and not be in survival mode,” Teyana told Complex about her relationship with Aaron.

John Goodman Shows Off His 200-Pound Weight Loss at 'Smurfs' Premiere
John Goodman is showing the results of his weight loss journey!
The 73-year-old actor was all smiles at the Smurfs premiere. John paired a navy blue suit with a patterned black tie and brown leather shoes for the event.

In 2023, John spoke to Rolling Stone about his weight loss journey and revealed that he’s lost a total of 200 pounds since he decided to get healthy over a decade ago.
While speaking to Rolling Stone, John revealed that walking his dogs was his favorite way to stay active. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, John said that he had enjoyed boxing to stay fit but had gotten “lazy” during lockdown.

John previously shared that he had been keeping his weight loss journey quiet just in case he gained the weight back, joking that he might start “eating Crisco out of the can with a spoon and a side of confectioner’s sugar.”

Stevie Wonder Addresses Rumor He's Not Really Blind
Stevie Wonder has signed, sealed and delivered his response to ongoing rumors.
The R&B legend addressed longtime speculation that he is not actually blind during a show in Cardiff, Wales, for his Love, Light and Song U.K. tour.
"I must say to all of you, something that I was thinking, ‘When did I want to let the world know this?’ But I wanted to say it right now," Stevie said on stage during the July 10 concert, as captured in a fan's Instagram video. "You know there have been rumors about me seeing and all that? But seriously, you know the truth."

And for anyone who didn't know the truth, the 75-year-old set the record straight.
"Truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind," Stevie continued. "Now, that was a blessing because it’s allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight. See people in the spirit of them, not how they look. Not what color they are, but what color is their spirit?"

And the thought-provoking response isn't the only time Stevie has shared a meaningful message about his blindness.
In fact, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer shared that he was able to keep a positive outlook after becoming blind as a child—even when his mother Lula Mae Hardaway was struggling with the revelation.
"I was born. Shortly after that, I’m blind," Stevie shared in an episode of 2024's The Wonder of Stevie audiobook series. "My mother went through the different things, and so my experience with that was deep."

Recalling that his mother would cry "every night" after he was first diagnosed with the disability, the "Superstitious" singer said he eventually told her, "Mama, you shouldn’t cry, you’re making my head hurt.”
“And I said, ‘Maybe God has something for me that’s bigger than all this,’” Stevie added. “History proved that true.”

Ellen DeGeneres Backs Rosie O’Donnell After Trump Threatens to Strip Her Citizenship

Ellen DeGeneres is standing by Rosie O’ Donnell in her political feud with Donald Trump.
“Good for you, Rosie,” DeGeneres posted to Instagram this weekend in a rare public comment. The talk show icon offered her support after O’Donnell became the latest target of a scathing message from Trump.
The drama kicked off after O’Donnell posted a TikTok video blasting the Trump administration’s handling of recent catastrophic floods in Texas. That criticism prompted Trump to reignite his decades-long feud with O’Donnell by writing on Truth Social that he was “giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.”

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
O’Donnell, who relocated to Ireland just before Trump’s 2017 inauguration, didn’t hesitate to respond. On Instagram, she posted: “You call me a threat to humanity, but I’m everything you fear: a loud woman, a queer woman, a mother who tells the truth, an American who got out of the country before you set it ablaze.”

“You want to revoke my citizenship?” she added. “I’m not yours to silence. I never was.”
Earlier this year, O’Donnell explained why she left the U.S., telling CNN, “I have no regrets. Not a day has gone by that I thought it was the wrong decision. I was welcomed with open arms.”

Now, with DeGeneres lending her voice in support, Rosie is getting backup from some powerful allies as the feud with Trump enters a new chapter.
