#RHOA: Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kelli Ferrell Fighting Ex-Husband Chuvalo in Bankruptcy Court Over $700k!
According to court documents obtained by Us, Kelli, 40, asked that the court not approve the repayment plan proposed by Chuvalo.
She said the plan was submitted in “bad faith.” The Bravo star claimed her ex put the wrong address on his paperwork. Kelli said the address was a UPS store.
She claimed he had “intentionally attempted to deceive the creditors” including her. “[Chuavlo] does not reside at a UPS mailing address but instead is living free of charge at the residence of his friend,” she alleged.
She said the repayment plan failed to disclose certain judgments Chuvalo allegedly owes Kelli. She said he was ordered to pay $770,000 in a lawsuit over a Chicken-N-Waffles restaurant they ran while married.
The RHOA star also accused her ex-husband of being delinquent on child support payments due after he filed for bankruptcy. She said he had failed to make any child support payment since January.
In her filing, Kelli also believed her ex had understated his gross monthly income of $8,616. She said his monthly income was listed as $19,847 at their divorce trial.
“Clearly, [Chuvalo] is attempting to hide how much money he makes so he would not have to repay as much of his debts, and the [Chuvalo’s] proposed Plan payments does not apply the entirety of his income is left over after necessary living expenses and other financial obligations,” Kelli’s lawyer argued. “Furthermore, [Chuvalo] clearly overstated his monthly living expenses and thereby depressing his available disposable income that is available to repay his debts.” The court has yet to rule on Kelli’s request.
A rep for Chuvalo tells Us, “[Chuvalo] has complied fully with all court requirements under federal bankruptcy law.”
They noted, “the court accepted his conversion to Chapter 7 bankruptcy — an option available to individuals facing legitimate financial hardship, as [Chuavlo] has, following the court-ordered transfer of his business, his home, and his primary income source.”
The rep said that while Chuvalo continued to “take accountability for his obligations his ability to meet those obligations has been severely hindered by actions taken during and after the divorce.” He claims $74,000 from the of sale of their home was wrongfully withheld.
The rep claimed the funds could have been applied to outstanding child support but were “held for over a year and only recently sent to the court, where they remain in escrow.”
Chuvalo’s rep claimed her client had offered to pay half of the $74k in the account to Kelli to resolve back child support.
“She refused the offer. We believe this refusal is strategic, designed to preserve a storyline rather than resolve real issues. [Kelli] has disregarded the divorce decree and remains in contempt of the visitation order,” the rep alleged.
In regard to the alleged $770k judgment, the rep said it is “simply not valid” and Chuvalo is “taking the appropriate steps to rectify that matter as well as the clear bias within the judiciary.” He claimed he was not credited for certain payments made.
“It is deeply troubling that, instead of seeking resolution through appropriate legal channels, [Kelli] continues to publicly attack [Chuavlo] — routinely omitting key facts — seemingly to support a public narrative rather than pursue genuine resolution,” the rep said.
The rep added that Chuavlo said he remains in regular contact with his kids and continue to support them “in every way he can.”
In response to Chuvalo’s rep, Kelli’s rep told Us, “The court has mandated and stamped the relevant orders. Chuvalo is required to pay the money he owes, including outstanding child support. The $74,000 he references remains in the court’s escrow account until all owed parties are rightfully paid.”
“There is no storyline here — only facts. The divorce is final. Had Chuvalo fulfilled his legal obligations, this matter would have been resolved a long ago. We remain committed to moving on — if only he would allow it,” the rep said. “Kelli is focused on raising her daughters and building a peaceful future,” the rep added.
Chuvalo filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy on January 31. He listed assets totaling $214,198 and liabilities in the amount of $383,231.
He said his monthly income was $8,616 and his monthly expenses came out to $8,204.67. Chuvalo said he owed $17,700 in domestic support obligations.
His petition listed his assets as a 2021 Mercedes Metris van worth $42,000, a 2023 BMW worth $90,200 and a 2017 Nissan worth $4,200. Other assets included $2,000 in household goods, $500 in electronics, $800 in clothes and various other items.
Chuvalo said he had no money in his wallet or at home. He listed a retirement account with zero dollars. He said $75,000 was being held in an account by Kelli’s attorney.
His liabilities included $57,614 owed on the Mercedes, over $90k on the BMW and another $3,800 on the Nissan.
Chuvalo said creditors with unsecured claims include the IRS, the Georgia Child Support Department and the Georgia Department of Revenue. He also listed Kelli as a creditor owed $17,700 in support payments.
Other liabilities included $11,000 to Amex, an unspecified amount to Capital One, $8,000 to a third party company, over $15,000 to Discover Bank, another $60,000 in credit card debt owed to Navy Federal Credit Union and various other debts.
At the time of his filing, Chuvalo was employed as a manager of a chicken and waffles restaurant in Conyers, Georgia. He had been working there for four months.
He pulls in $5,416 a month from his job and receives another $3,200 in family contributions. His monthly bills include $2,386 in rent, $388 on telephone, $490 on food and housekeeping supplies and others.

“Shocking true story of an allegedly fake story that some now say might just be a true story. Featuring interviews with police, lawyers, journalists, investigators who claim to have uncovered new evidence about the case, and with Jussie himself, this compelling documentary invites the audience to decide for themselves who is telling The Truth About Jussie Smollett?”
In December 2021, Smollett was convicted of five counts of felony disorderly conduct for making false reports to police. He was sentenced to 150 days behind bars the following March as he maintained his innocence. After filing for appeal in December 2023, his conviction was upheld by the Illinois appeals court. Still, the saga did not end there.

The match was over, the smile was beaming and here was Venus Williams – the seven-time Grand Slam champion, the 45-year-old icon of tennis, the soon-to-be bride – telling jokes about health insurance.
“I had to come back because they informed me earlier this year I’m on COBRA,” she said, giggling through her on-court interview with Rennae Stubbs after a what-did-we-just-watch 6-3, 6-4 victory over world No. 35 Peyton Stearns at the Mubadala Citi DC Open. “So I was like, ‘I gotta get my benefits!’ You guys know what it’s like. I’m always at the doctor so I need this insurance.”
It's a great line. And the funniest part about it is, when Williams entered this tournament as a wild card having not played on the WTA Tour since March 2024 and without winning an official match in 709 days, there was no clear reason why she would play at all.
Williams admits that she holds her cards close to the vest on purpose. She never officially retired. She never closed the door. In her last few years on tour, the results weren’t good. Injuries piled up, as they tend to do for athletes who approach their 40s.
So was entering this tournament out of nowhere a one-off or a comeback? She wouldn’t say.
Who cares. What she produced was magical, even if it’s just for one memorable night.
“There were so many times I wanted to coast and kind of chill,” Williams said. “Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You don’t know how much work goes into this. It’s 9-to-5 except you’re running the whole time and then lifting weights and then you’re repeating it the next day.”

But given how little she had played recently and who she was up against Tuesday – a very good 23-year-old who wasn’t even born when Williams won her fourth major at the 2001 US Open – it’s arguably the most stunning result of the year in any sport.
How did she do it? She served incredibly well with nine aces, executed an incredibly-aggressive game plan that made Stearns uncomfortable and baited her into too many unforced errors.
Is it sustainable? We’ll see. Williams plays the No. 5 seed, Magdalena Frech, on Thursday.
The more important question is whether this win will encourage Williams to keep going and perhaps even request a wild card to the US Open, which would very likely be granted given her stature in the history of the sport.

In a post shared on Facebook by Caribbean Guard, a volunteer lifeguard organization in Costa Rica, the group described attempts made to save the 54-year-old from the troubling waters. The original upload is written in Spanish and was translated by VIBE using an online generator.
“We deeply regret the death of Malcolm Jamal Warner at Playa Grande. He was swept away by a strong rip current and died from drowning,” shared the statement. “Everything happened very quickly, and despite people on the beach who came to rescue him, they didn’t arrive in time. He was pulled underwater with no vital signs, and despite CPR being administered on the beach.”
It continued to detail, “Playa Grande is one of our most challenging beaches. Florida Police Officer “Stripped” Of Duties After Violent Traffic Stop Goes Viral
A Florida police officer is under investigation after a viral video showed the moment a traffic stop turned violent. The clip, originally shared by the alleged victim William McNeil Jr., was recorded on his cell phone. In the February incident, McNeil was pulled over by Jacksonville police and punched as he was physically removed from his vehicle.
According to ABC News, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters confirmed that “the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law,” and that the traffic stop is now under “administrative review,” which will determine if the deputies “violated JSO policy.” The officer who struck McNeil was identified as D. The 22-year-old informed officers through the passenger-side window that his driver’s side window would not roll down. In the clip, he is heard requesting a supervisor before one officer tells another, “Go for it.” The driver’s side window is then broken by force, and McNeal is punched on the side of the head.

In new court documents filed July 18, the singer’s attorney, Martin Singer, went in on plaintiff Asha Daniels, calling her a “brazen liar” with “an inflated ego” and “an unquenchable thirst for free publicity.” He added that Daniels is “not a victim of discrimination or harassment,” but rather a “disgruntled” former employee acting on “personal vendettas.”
The filing states that Lizzo’s company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., fired Daniels because she was “inexperienced,” “failed to comply with safety regulations,” and “did not want to continue with the Tour.” The team added, “She offers no specific information to support her claims or a single witness or document to corroborate her absurd allegations.”
Daniels originally filed the suit in September 2023, accusing Lizzo’s team of racism, fat-phobia, and denying her medical care during the European leg of the Special Tour.

The new drama will follow Ghost and his best friend, Tommy (played by Joseph Sikora in the original series and Power Book IV: Force), “as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City,” the official logline reads. “A fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the Power franchise, Power: Origins will highlight the unbridled audacity of young men on the rise, determined to become legends in the game.”
MeKai Curtis, who plays the titular young Kanan Stark in the prequel Power Book III: Raising Kanan, will reprise that role in the new series, as well.
Raising Kanan executive producer Sascha Penn will serve as showrunner, writer and EP on the new series. “Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans, and I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming,” Penn said via statement.

Bishop Charles Ellis III, senior pastor at the massive Greater Grace Temple, sent his flock an email around 8 p.m. that said, in part: "I recently was made aware of social media posts shared by a former member of my congregation, with whom I had an inappropriate relationship over 15 years ago."
Ellis said the posts include accusations "some of which are deeply troubling and untrue.
Ellis did not name the former parishioner or specify which accusations were untrue.
Bishop Charles H. Ellis III of Greater Grace Temple in Detroit sent an email to his congregation on July 21 stating a former parishioner with whom he had an "inappropriate relationship" was leveling false allegations against him.

Meagan Good Says She’s Ready for Motherhood with Jonathan Majors
Speaking exclusively with Us Weekly at Lifetime’s Summer Soirée on July 16, the 43-year-old actress revealed she’s finally ready to take on motherhood — and Majors is the partner she wants to do it with.
“I definitely am ready to have kids now,” said Good. “And then, my partner [is] someone I want to really do it with, and get excited about doing it with, and who is a phenomenal father already, but now we can do it together.”
Good and Majors married in March after dating for two years. Majors, 35, has a 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, and the couple is considering expanding their family.
“Two would be good,” she said. “We got four dogs already. So, we got four Belgian Malinois, and they are the hyperest dogs of life, but the house is very safe.”
Good described married life with Majors as “pretty amazing” and shared a glimpse into their everyday bond.
“He’s very silly. He always falls asleep in the middle of movies. I love doing adventures with him,” she said. “We’re just both in it, like, two little kids who can’t believe we’re allowed to do what we want to do.”
She also discussed how portraying Camille in “I’ll Never Let You Go” helped her reflect on her views about parenting.
“I always knew that I wanted to be a mother,” Good said. “But I’d have to ask myself, ‘Is that because I felt like I should want that?’”
She explored Camille’s story arc with a nuanced lens, saying, “It’s, like, ‘No, some people just don’t want to,’” while adding that others may have fears, past experiences, or doubts shaping their choice.

Barack Obama has broken his silence on calls from Donald Trump for him to be prosecuted by unequivocally rejecting his successor’s accusations that he tried to engineer a “coup” following Trump’s 2016 election victory by “manufacturing” evidence of Russian interference.
Obama’s office took the unusual step of issuing an emphatic refutation after Trump told reporters that his predecessor had “[tried] to lead a coup” against him and was guilty of “treason” over intelligence assessments suggesting that Russia had intervened to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton in the campaign.
“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response,” the statement said. “But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.”
The statement went on to criticize claims made in an 11-page document released last week by Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, who said she was passing evidence of what she claimed was a “treasonous conspiracy” among Obama national security officials to the justice department, recommending their prosecution.
“Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes,” it said.
“These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.”
Obama’s response followed a fusillade of accusations by Trump in the White House as he was meeting the president of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the son of the country’s former autocratic president, who was ousted in a popular “people’s power revolution” in 1986.
Asked by a reporter who should be the main target of the criminal investigation recommended in Gabbard’s report, Trump said: “Based on what I read, and I read pretty much what you read, it would be President Obama. He started it, and Biden was there with him. And [James] Comey [the former FBI director] was there, and [James] Clapper [the former director of national intelligence], the whole group was there.
“It was them, too, but the leader of the gang was President Obama, Barack Hussein Obama. Have you heard of him?”
He went on: “This isn’t like evidence. This is like proof, irrefutable proof that Obama was sedatious [sic], that Obama … was trying to lead a coup, and it was with Hillary Clinton, with all these other people, but Obama headed it up.
“He’s guilty. This was treason. This was every word you can think of. They tried to steal the election. They tried to obfuscate the election. They did things that nobody’s ever even imagined.”
Trump said Gabbard had told him she had “thousands of additional documents coming”.
“It’s the most unbelievable thing I think I’ve ever read. So you want to take a look at that and stop talking about nonsense,” he said, in what appeared to be a coded appeal for supporters to drop their demands for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier who was found dead in his prison cell in 2019 as he awaited trial on sex-trafficking charges.
But the Gabbard report, which accused the Obama administration of forcing spy agencies to alter their conclusions, conflated and misrepresented different issues to discredit the intelligence community’s assessment in 2017 that Russia sought to simultaneously help Trump and damage Clinton.
The assessment concluded that Russia did not engage in cyber-attacks against election infrastructure to change vote tallies, but found Moscow hacked and leaked documents from the Democratic National Committee to damage the Clinton campaign.
The Gabbard report used that first conclusion to suggest that a broader Russian influence operation did not occur, and cited Obama’s presidential daily brief in December 2016 that concluded there were no Russian hacks of election systems being pushed back as evidence of political interference in the assessment.
Assertions of Russian interference were subsequently borne out in the report published by the special counsel Robert Mueller, in 2019, and the bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report published the following year, led by Rubio, now secretary of state in Trump’s administration.
A former CIA analyst and national intelligence officer, Fulton Armstrong, told the Guardian in an email that Gabbard’s paper “was obviously written with a pre-ordained conclusion”.
“Even a quick read shows how the confusion between confidence and probability [over intelligence assessments] – even if not deliberate – leads to sloppiness and manipulation,” Armstrong said.
“The bigger problem is that Tulsi’s paper is such shit. Her reference to ‘deep state officials’ is amateurish, silly, and undercuts the whole damned document.
“She’s clever to use crappy precedents and confusion to make her case, but an issue like Russian manipulation of US elections, with so many analysts from diverse organizational cultures, is almost certainly going to leave enough offal on the floor that anyone who wanted to make a one-sided political slam job can find enough to fill an 11-page paper.”

During a conversation on Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast, Griner shared what life was like in the Russian detention facility, pointing to a specific incident that led to many sleepless nights.
She explained that inmates weren’t separated according to their crimes, and that most inmates were incarcerated for murder or drugs.

She acted like a child, but she was a grown woman, but she very much acted like an adolescent child,” Griner recalled at around the 1:48:30 hour mark. “And then she had burn marks all over herself, and I found out after the fact that she was selling videos online of her husband and her child—together.”
Newton looked stunned as Brittney revealed that the burn marks were from the other inmates.
“There’s not a lot of torturing from inmates with girls on the women’s side. But if you in there for something like that, yeah, you going to get tortured. And they would put their cigarettes out on her and make her sleep at the door, too.”
The Atlanta Dream center said she was “mad” when she found out because she didn’t know inmates weren’t separated based on their crimes.
“I’m like, ‘Well I don’t want them to think that I’m in here for this crime. Don’t associate me with that one,’” she said. “I didn’t really sleep at night ‘cause she be over there singing and doing weird stuff at night.”

House Republicans Push to Rename Kennedy Center Opera House After Melania Trump
The Kennedy Center Opera House, one of the most iconic cultural venues in Washington D.C., could soon bear a new name — one honoring First Lady Melania Trump.
On Tuesday, July 22, the Republican-controlled House Appropriations Committee voted 33-25 in favor of an amendment to rename the venue’s second-largest performance space as the “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.” If approved by the full House and signed into law, it would mark the first time a Kennedy Center stage has ever been renamed.
The measure is currently included in a broader spending bill set to fund the Interior Department, Environmental Protection Agency, and other agencies for the next fiscal year. A final vote by the House will likely be delayed, as lawmakers prepare for a summer recess.
Traditionally, first ladies serve as honorary chairs of the Kennedy Center. However, this proposal comes on the heels of Donald Trump’s takeover of the institution earlier this year, which included sweeping leadership changes and significant cuts to programming he deemed “woke.” Since then, the Trumps have made only one high-profile appearance at the center, attending the opening night of Les Misérables, one of his favorite musicals.
