#MAGFAB: Naomi Ackie for Elle UK - October 2025
Award-winning actress Naomi Ackie has revealed her parents told her she'd have to work 'twice as hard and get half as much' at the start of her career due to being a woman of colour in the industry.
The 34-year-old Blink Twice star has been announced as the recipient of this year's Performer Of The Year at the 2025 ELLE Style Awards, which take place on September 9.
And gracing the cover of ELLE UK's October issue, Naomi spoke to her friend and fellow actor, Zoë Kravitz, about the power of following her instincts, the challenges faced by women of colour in the industry, and finding inner peace.

And gracing the cover of ELLE UK's October issue, Naomi spoke to her friend and fellow actor, Zoë Kravitz, about the power of following her instincts, the challenges faced by women of colour in the industry, and finding inner peace.
She admitted that when she first pursued an acting career, her parents' fear was her reality - as she saw friends who were more 'reckless' and did stuff she 'couldn't afford to do'.
Naomi explained: 'I saw some of my friends who aren't Black or a person of colour make mistakes or be a bit reckless in a way that I cannot afford to do. I have one shot at this.
'And you carry that on top of being conditioned as a woman to be as quiet as possible, but make sure everyone is safe and happy, be sexy but cute – literally that Barbie monologue.

'Being a woman of colour on top of that complicates things, because everything is coloured by people's biases.'
She added: 'Our Blackness is something that's going to be either fetishised or problematic. There is a slight fear every time a casting [announcement] goes up. Like, "Oh lordy, who's got something to say now?"'
Meanwhile, Zoë, 36, cast pal Naomi as main character Frida in the black comedy psychological thriller filë, which proved to be a huge success.
The two women chatted about their friendship in the interview, with Naomi saying: 'I remember saying on set how rare it is for women to create the kind of friendships that male directors and actors have.
'There are so many [eg Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro; Luca Guadagnino and Timothée Chalamet; Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L Jackson].

'This was a job where I felt like I was a friend of the director. Before, it always felt like I was the child – like, "Oh my God, please love me! Am I doing a good job?!"'
They also discussed having fun with fashion, with Zoë complimenting her pal.
'Well, I saw this picture of you recently, girl, where I was like, "Damn! Sorry, who is she?!"' she laughed.

In Blink Twice, Channing Tatum - Zoë's ex-fianceé - stars as a tech billionaire named Slater King.
He meets a cocktail waitress named Frida at his fundraising gala and invites her to join him and his friends at his private island.
However, it's there Frida discovers the dream vacation is not what it seems and she must uncover the mystery and find a way to escape.
Zoë graced the cover of W Magazine's Fall Fashion Issue last year and shed light on what inspired her to start writing her psychological thriller.

'In the summer of 2017, I had come to a place of frustration with society and culture power dynamics,' the High Fidelity star revealed.
'I went home one day after talking to a friend, and I wrote down the original title of the film: P***y Island.'
She continued: 'Then—when was it? October, I think, when everything happened with Har— [Harvey Weinstein], actually, I don't want to say his name. I don't want to give him any power.'
The October issue of ELLE UK is on sale from 4 September.

#RHOP: Karen Huger Released From Prison 6 Months Early in DUI Case
Karen Huger is a free woman once again. The Real Housewives of Potomac star was released from prison on Sept. 2, six months earlier than she was originally supposed to be set free from behind bars, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Detention Center confirmed to Page Six.
In February, a Maryland judge sentenced Karen to one year in prison after she was found guilty on nearly all counts related to her March 2024 car crash and DUI arrest near Bethesda, Maryland.
Following her release, the 62-year-old—who has previously been arrested for driving under the influence three times—will be on five years of probation and she won't be allowed to drive a car for another year.
After Karen began her sentence in February, several of her costars shared their shocked reactions to her jail time.
"I am shook," Gizelle Bryant told Us Weekly after the news broke. "I do not have her wigs. I am concerned. In all seriousness, I am concerned for her safety. Karen ain’t cut out for jail."
Meanwhile, Wendy Osefo said her "jaw dropped" when she heard the judge's ruling.
"I couldn't believe it," Wendy told People at the time. "At the end of the day, we may have our differences, but I always wish her well, and I'm just keeping her in prayer, 100 percent."
As for Andy Cohen, he sympathized with her legal troubles.
"I will say I am thinking of Karen every day," the Watch What Happens Live host told fans in March on his SiriusXM radio show. "I've been thinking about her a lot, and I'm so sad about this. I'm so sad about how this entire thing is played out. I am a Karen fan. Drunk driving is no joke. It's so bad, so that this was her fourth situation was tough to hear."
However, the 56-year-old believed the punishment fit the crime.
"I'm not surprised that the judge was not playing," Andy added. "I'm not surprised at all."

#MusicNews: Miguel Announces New Album Caos

Miguel has not released an album since 2017, but that’ll change next month. The R&B singer has announced that Caos is out October 23 (Miguel’s 40th birthday).
Caos is the follow-up to Miguel’s 2017 album, War & Leisure. Since then, he’s shared the EPs Te Lo Dije and Art Dealer Chic 4. He’s also released a handful of singles, but only “Always Time” will appear on the 12-song Caos.
“To rebuild, I had to destroy myself. That is the core confrontation of Caos,” Miguel, who had previously teased an album called Viscera, said in a press statement. “Through my personal evolution, I learned that transformation is violent. Caos is the sonic iteration of me bending that violence into something universally felt.”

#HipHopNews: Kid Cudi Announces Break From Dropping Albums After Going Independent: "It’s Gonna Be A While"
Kid Cudi is shifting his focus to creative ventures like directing, acting, painting, and fashion.
The rapper is now fully independent after releasing Free as his final major label album.
Free marks a turning point in his career, debuting at No. 192 on the Billboard 200.
After dropping Free, his final album on Republic Records, last month, Kid Cudi is saying goodbye to music — at least for now. Tuesday (Sept. 2) night, the “Day ‘n’ Nite” artist announced that he’ll now put his efforts toward directing, acting, fashion, and other creative ventures.
“I just wanna say thank you to all my fans for supporting Free, spreading the word, and sending love! I'm so grateful I have y'all in my corner,” Cudi tweeted. “Free was my last album on a major label (which is part of the reason I called the album Free), and now I'm lookin’ forward to a new chapter and being independent.”
“I got a new short film I directed myself for ‘Mr. Miracle’ droppin’ in a matter of weeks that [you all are] gonna f**kin’ love,” he continued. When a fan asked how long it’d be until the next solo project, the Cleveland rapper admitted it’ll be “a while” before he returns with another LP.
“I think I’ma officially take a step back for a while from droppin’ albums and focus on directing, more acting, painting, and fashion for sure,” he said. “It’s gonna be a while ‘til y'all hear another album from me, but I promise when I do come again, it won't be boring.”
Cudi spent over a decade under Republic Records, and in the time since, he’s given fans a lot of great music. Just last year, he dropped two separate albums — INSANO and INSANO (NITRO MEGA) — collectively totaling around 40 songs.
Free, which arrived in August with songs like “Neverland” and “Grave,” saw the artist going in a more pop-driven direction. The 13-song effort opened at No. 192 on the Billboard 200, marking the lowest-charting solo album of his career.
That said, Cudi has found success outside of music. In July, he appeared in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2.

Giorgio Armani, the Italian designer who turned the concept of understated elegance into a multibillion-dollar fashion empire, has died, his fashion house confirmed. He was 91.
Armani died at home, the fashion house said. Armani, one of the most recognizable names and faces in the global fashion industry, missed Milan Fashion Week in June 2025 for the first time during the previews of Spring-Summer 2026 menswear to recover from an undisclosed condition. He was planning a major event to celebrate 50 years of his signature Giorgio Armani fashion house during Milan Fashion Week this month.
Starting with an unlined jacket, a simple pair of pants and an urban palette, Armani put Italian ready-to-wear style on the international fashion map in the late 1970s, creating an instantly recognizable relaxed silhouette that has propelled the fashion house for half a century.
From the executive office to the Hollywood screen, Armani dressed the rich and famous in classic tailored styles, fashioned in super-soft fabrics and muted tones. His handsome black tie outfits and glittering evening gowns often stole the show on award season red carpets.
At the time of his death, Armani had put together an empire worth over $10 billion, which along with clothing included accessories, home furnishings, perfumes, cosmetics, books, flowers and even chocolates, ranking him in the world’s top 200 billionaires, according to Forbes.
The designer also owned several bars, clubs, restaurants and his own basketball team EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, better known as Olympia Milano. Armani opened more than than 20 restaurants from Milan to Tokyo since 1998, and two hotels, one in Dubai in 2009 and another in Milan, in 2010.
Armani himself was the foundation of his style
Armani style began with Giorgio Armani himself, from the penetrating blue eyes framed in a permanent tan and early-age shock of silver hair, to the trademark jeans and t-shirt work clothes and the minimalist decoration of his private homes.
Armani’s fashion vision was that of easygoing elegance where attention to detail made the difference.
“I design for real people. There is no virtue whatsoever in creating clothes and accessories that are not practical,” he liked to say when asked to identify his clientele.
In conversation, the designer’s disarming smile and exquisitely mild manners belied the tough businessman underneath, who was able to turn creative talent into a fashion empire worth over $10 billion. Never a merger nor a sale, Re Giorgio (King George) as the Italians call him, was always his own boss.
Born July 11, 1934, in Piacenza, a small town south of Milan, Armani dreamed of becoming a doctor before a part-time job as a window decorator in a Milan department store opened his eyes to the world of fashion.
In 1975, Armani and his partner Sergio Galeotti sold their Volkswagen for $10,000 to start up their own menswear ready-to-wear label. Womenswear followed a year later.
The symbol of his new style was the liningless sports jacket, which was launched in the late 1970s and became an instant success from Hollywood to Wall Street. The designer paired the jacket with a simple t-shirt, an item of clothing he termed “the alpha and omega of the fashion alphabet.”
The Armani suit soon became a must in the closet of the well-heeled man. And for women, the introduction of the pantsuit in the executive workroom was all but revolutionary. Dubbed the “power suit” with its shoulder-padded jacket and man-tailored trousers, it became the trademark of the rising class of businesswomen in the 1980s.
Over the years Armani would soften the look with delicate detailing, luxurious fabrics and brighter shades for his basic beige and gray palette. His insistence on pants and jackets led some critics to label his fashion “androgynous.”
Armani hits Hollywood
The 1980 film classic “American Gigolo” launched both Armani and actor Richard Gere on their Hollywood careers. Dressed in Armani, Gere became America’s new favorite heart throb, and “Geeorgeeo” as they called him, the glam set’s most popular designer.
The Hollywood connection earned him wardrobe film credits in over 200 films, and in 2003 a place on Rodeo Drive’s “Walk of Fame.”
Oscar night always sparkled, with smart suiting for the men, and glittering gowns for the ladies. The 2009 best actor winner Sean Penn picked up his statue in a black-on-black Armani outfit, while best actress nominee Anne Hathaway walked the red carpet in a shimmering white strapless evening gown from Armani’s latest Prive couture collection.
Other longtime devotees included Jodie Foster, George Clooney, Sofia Loren and Brad Pitt. David and Victoria Beckham were the “face” of his 2009 underwear ad campaign.
So significant was the impact of Armani style, not only on how people dressed but how they approached fashion, that in 2000 New York’s Guggenheim museum presented a retrospective of Armani’s first 25 years in fashion.
“I love things that age well, things that don’t date and become living examples of the absolute best,” Armani said of his efforts.
Armani has gone well beyond fashion
Today, the Armani empire has an army of more than 9,000 employees, with women comprising half of the executive suite, along with seven industrial hubs and over 600 stores worldwide, according to figures released in 2023. Along with clothes and accessories, the company produces perfumes, cosmetics and home furnishings, as well as selling its own candy, flowers and even books. The designer opened his fifth multi-brand store on New York’s fashionable Fifth Avenue in February 2009.
In the realm of fashion hobbies, Armani owned several bars, restaurants and clubs, as well as the basketball team. Recreation time was spent in getaways in Broni in the countryside near Milan, the isle of Pantelleria off Sicily and St. Tropez on the French Riviera. Each home bore the trademark of Armani design: bare walls, important pieces, few knickknacks.
Like many of his colleagues, Armani tried to give back some of the fame and fortune he amassed during the heyday of the “moda Milanese” which put Italian ready-to-wear at the center of the world’s fashion map at the turn of the millennium. Personally involved in several charity organizations devoted to children and a staunch supporter of the battle against AIDS, in 2002 Armani was named a U.N. goodwill ambassador for refugees.
Galeotti died in 1985. Armani had no children but was very close to his niece Roberta, daughter of his late brother Sergio. She abandoned a budding film career to become his director of public relations, and often represented her uncle, who wasn’t much of a party-goer, at social events. In later years she was a key go-between with the celebrity world.
In 2006, she orchestrated the top-billed wedding of actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in a medieval castle outside Rome, while Uncle Giorgio designed the attire for both bride and groom.
Armani had indicated that as he considered succession he was looking toward his longtime head of menswear Leo Dell’Orco and his niece Silvana Armani, who fills the same role for womenswear.Giorgio Armani, Master of the Power Suit, Dies at 91

Dionne Warwick undergoes emergency surgery, Must cancel upcoming Concert dates

Dionne Warwick was set to play the Soul Town Festival in London Saturday when she felt pain in her leg.
It was so bad that she had to undergo emergency surgery on Labor Day and cancel her upcoming appearance.
Warwick, 84, shared the news on Instagram Tuesday. “Please know how disappointed I am not to be with you at the Soul Town Festival,” the music icon, who lives in South Orange, said in a statement.
“The last thing I expected was to have surgery the day I was to fly to London,” Warwick said. “Pain was unbearable and my doctor rushed me into surgery thank goodness, as it could’ve resulted in something far worse.”
Warwick did not share her diagnosis, but said she was in recovery.
“Hopefully we can do this festival again in the future, and I’ll be walking like a normal person,” she said. “Please keep me in prayer and I’ll see you soon. Until next time, Thanks for your understanding. Luv Ya All!!!! Dionne.”
In a separate post, the festival shared that Warwick’s management advised that “walking will be difficult following the surgery and she will not be able to fly until her doctors give her the all clear.”
At the Sept. 6 show in London, Warwick was to have performed on a lineup with Cameo, Lisa Stansfield, Shalamar and more.
Warwick also canceled a Labor Day appearance at the New York State Fair in Syracuse because of her surgery.
In October, the Grammy-winning singer of hits like “Don’t Make Me Over,” “Walk on By,” “That’s What Friends Are For” and more was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The same month, East Orange, Warwick’s hometown, renamed a street Dionne Warwick Way.
Before her induction into the rock hall, Warwick told NJ Advance Media that she has no plans to retire from touring and performing.
“When I feel that I have not been able to reach the bar that I have set for myself, that’s when I’ll say, ‘you know, it’s been wonderful. Thank you very much, and there I go,’” she said.
“When I feel that happens, where we have to give lyrics or I have to use a teleprompter or any of those crazy things that happen during the course of time with a lot of our singers ... (I don’t) need for me to do something that I know I’m not capable of doing.”
“I’m following a path that has been kind of designated already for me,” Warwick said. “God put me on a road here to walk a certain path and that’s what I’m doing. And whatever happens next happens. I don’t know what’s going to happen next. I wish I did, but I don’t.”

Swizz Beatz Finally Speaks On Alleged ‘Divorce’ From Alicia Keys

Hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz isn’t letting social media ruin his happy home or his lovely marriage to singer Alicia Keys. And now, he’s making sure all the online chatter about the status of their relationship ceases
As you may have noticed, it’s not often that the two make headlines. If they do it’s more than likely for some new creative venture they’ve just launched or are recently a part of. Or in some cases, their supremely decorated home and lifestyle are the things on display for people to talk about.
But over the last month, it was their 15-years-long marriage that became fodder for conversation online after a YouTuber named MissTee posted a celeb gossip video. In it, she alleged that the “Girl On Fire” singer was divorcing Beatz for getting his side chick pregnant. The unsubstantiated rumor was then repeated on “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” with cohost Gary With Da Tea noting that the rumor also gained traction on social media thanks to talks of an alleged court-appointed paternity test that Beatz was allegedly named in, that was posted on Instagram.
With all the speculation in the air and seemingly fake tea getting spilled all over the timelines, neither Beatz or Keys decided to speak on it–until now.
After The Shade Room reposted a video of them goofing around and taking dance lessons on Wednesday, the music producer hopped in the comments section to finally silence all the talks.
“Everybody knew we was Divorced but us,” he wrote followed by multiple laughter emojis. “We found out on our 15yr anniversary vacation. People rather believe fake gossip instead of the truth because they’re miserable we have nothing to do with that !!! Bless up !!”
When one user replied back to him and congratulated the VERZUZ creator for being the only man to “ever convert a stud” (referencing Keys), Beatz responded: “I know, your mother showed me how. She’s the best stud I know, tell her I said zazazaaaa.”
It’s clear the couple has bigger, more important things to worry about (like their upcoming art museum exhibition coming in November). But just like Kendrick Lamar said: sometimes you got to pop out and show n*ggas that there ain’t no mess going on despite what the internet may think.

Mariah Carey Reveals ‘Here For It All’ Album Cover Art During Kai Cenat’s Livestream
Kai Cenat's now on day three of his month long subathon event known as Mafiathon. So far, the streamer extraordinaire has brought out a handful of guests, with Kim Kardashian being the first to pop out. She came in with her son Saint West. During her time on camera, she provided viewers with words of advice about life and how to live it.
Moreover, there were some typical Kai Cenat shenanigans as Kim and Saint threw a table during the "Noodle Game." Ironically, Ray J was the next guest, although his time with the New York native didn't last long. One of the content creator's friends, RayAsianBoy, asked him if he had even been to a Diddy party.
"Have I ever went to a Diddy party? I'm the new Diddy," he replied. This got the controversial singer and TV star immediately removed. His behavior was odd at other points during the stream too as he tried get in the shower with Kai. However, it seems they were playing up that moment for the viewers.
Folks online are also shocked by this but are here for it. "I'm so hype and proud of Kai! Mariah is on says Alot. YOU GO BOY!!" one Shade Room commenter writes. "I really cannot believe Mariah came on stream [laughing emoji] I love this," another pens.
One segment from their conversation has been gaining some traction online, though and it's about who Mariah's favorite artists are. The queen of ballads said SZA right off the bat, which isn't too big a shock. Both are great at writing songs about relationships. Carey thinks she's incredibly "talented," which she sure is.
Kai then wanted to know who her favorite rapper was. Before answering though, Mariah wanted him to answer first. He said A Boogie wit da Hoodie which got her excited because that's hers as well. Kai and his friends were messing with her response, perhaps being taken aback that she's hip.
Either way it was a cool bonding moment between them.
Kai's goal for Mafiathon 3 is to achieve 1 million subscribers by the end of September. If he does, he will be the lone Twitch streamer to do so. As of September 1, he was close to 730,000 subs. He claims that if he reaches the milestone, LeBron James will cut his hair on stream.Mariah Carey stepped into the online world of live streaming to promote her new album. During Kai Cenat’s livestream on Sept. 2, the “Fantasy” singer revealed the cover art for her upcoming 16th studio album “Here For It All,” which will be available Sept. 26. This will be Mimi’s first album since releasing “Caution” in 2018.

Lil Jon Reveals Body Transformation While Competing In 2025 Muscle Beach Championship

Lil Jon has turned heads once again—this time, not with booming bass or iconic ad-libs, but with his shredded physique and commitment to health.
The legendary crunk pioneer just placed third in the Men’s Physique category at the 2025 Muscle Beach Championship, a historic fitness competition held at Venice Beach, Los Angeles, marking a major milestone in his ongoing wellness journey.
According to his personal trainer, Jay Galvin, Lil Jon’s transformation didn’t happen overnight. The hitmaking producer followed a strict regimen, which included protein, low carbs, spring water, no sugar, no processed foods and three intense workouts per week.
Notably, Jon was the first artist to ever compete in this long-running competition, making his appearance even more historic.
Macadoshis—best known for his work with 2Pac’s group Thug Life—was also in attendance, showing support for Jon and other competitors as they took to the iconic Venice Beach stage.
This new fitness milestone comes on the heels of another surprising chapter in Lil Jon’s evolution: his foray into meditation music. His 2024 ambient project, Total Meditation, introduced fans to a softer, more mindful side of the artist, proving that his growth isn’t just physical but deeply spiritual as well.
From crunk anthems to clean eating and calm vibes, Lil Jon continues to redefine himself. Placing in a fitness competition at one of the most iconic bodybuilding venues in the world is no small feat, but for Jon, it’s just the latest example of leveling up.
In an industry often obsessed with excess, he’s proving that discipline, balance, and health can still make noise.

Paris Jackson Says She Had ‘0% Involvement’ in Michael Jackson Biopic After Star Colman Domingo Praises Her Support
Paris Jackson is refuting recent claims made by Colman Domingo regarding her alleged involvement in “Michael,” the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic from director Antoine Fuqua and writer John Logan. Oscar nominee Domingo stars in the film as Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson.
While hosting the amfAR benefit gala in Venice, Italy, Colman was quoted exclusively by People magazine as saying that Paris and her brother, Prince, are “very much in support of our film.” Paris and Prince are Michael Jackson’s children. Paris Jackson was performing at the amfAR event, to which Domingo added: “I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.”
People magazine also noted: “Domingo adds that Paris has been ‘lovely’ to him, and calls Prince ‘a man of the film.'”
Paris Jackson responded on her Instagram story to People’s article by distancing herself from the movie and Domingo. She wrote: “[Colman], don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol. That is so weird. I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest [and] didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and godspeed.”

Variety reached out to Domingo’s representative for additional comment.
Paris Jackson expanded on her involvement with the biopic in follow-up videos posted to her Instagram Story in which she said: “I wasn’t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that [production] was not actually going to address your notes at all.”
“So I just butted out and left it alone because it’s not my project,” she added. “They’re going to make whatever they’re going to make. A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it… They’re going to make whatever they’re going to make… A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it.”
“Michael” stars Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the title role. Nia Long plays Katherine Jackson, Michael’s mother, while Miles Teller stars as entertainment lawyer John Branca. The cast also includes Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Larenz Tate and Derek Luke.
“Michael” is currently set for release on April 24, 2026 from Lionsgate.

Montell Jordan reveals his cancer has returned after prostate surgery
Montell Jordan has shared a major health update, revealing that his prostate cancer has returned nearly a year after undergoing surgery.
During an appearance on the “3rd Hour of TODAY” on Wednesday (Sept. 3), the 56-year-old pastor and singer — who became a household name with his 1995 hit “This Is How We Do It” — shared that scans during his nine-month post-surgery checkup detected cancer in his lymph nodes.
He will now undergo targeted radiation therapy and take hormone blockers to help prevent the cancer from spreading.
“It is a seven-and-a-half-week interruption of life to make sure that I have a longer life,” Jordan shared in a follow-up interview with TODAY.
In early 2024, he was diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer — later becoming Stage 2 — after doctors found elevated prostate-specific antigen levels following over 10 years of routine screenings.
For Jordan, who lives a relatively healthy lifestyle — eating and drinking in moderation, working out regularly, and avoiding alcohol and smoking — the diagnosis was frightening and left him feeling numb. But catching it early gave him hope.
“Early detection is the thing that allows me to have a choice to treat [my cancer] and live and to continue giving myself the best quality of life possible,” he said.
“I’ve already had a fantastic quality of life even following my prostate removal,” he added. “So, I believe that even after this next treatment that I have to do, it will eradicate the cancer from my body and [I will] still have a great quality of life moving forward.”
Why early screening matters, especially for Black men
Jordan is now working with ZERO Prostate Cancer to promote regular screenings, especially among Black men, who face higher risks and lower survival rates.
Black men develop prostate cancer 1.7 times more often than men of other backgrounds and are more than twice as likely to die from it, according to ZERO, per TODAY.
Because prostate cancer often has no visible symptoms, many men don’t realize have it until it’s too late.
Routine screening can detect the disease early, when it’s most treatable — reportedly offering nearly a 100% survival rate for Black and African American men.
Jordan understands the stigmas and why Black men hesitate to get screened, which is why he’s sharing his story publicly and in a documentary titled Sustain, premiering next year, to help save lives.
“I’m trying to give a template for people that get diagnosed with this to, one, know they have options available to them,” he told TODAY. “And, two, in the mix of what that looks like, it’s OK to cry. It’s OK to shake your fist at God. It’s OK to navigate and do what you need to do, but doing nothing is not an option.”
Jordan’s openness about his diagnosis and treatment is more than personal. By sharing his journey, he’s helping others recognize the power of early detection and the importance of speaking up.

Cardi B passes on Super Bowl halftime show

Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has revealed that she was offered the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show but chose to decline.
In a recent interview with Billboard, she explained that she wants to wait until she feels more musically and personally prepared for such a high-profile performance.
“If I get to do it, I’m going to have more hits and I’m going to eat that up,” Cardi B said, emphasizing her desire to deliver a show-stopping performance when the timing is right.
This isn’t the first time Cardi B has turned down a Super Bowl offer. In 2019, she declined an invitation to perform at Super Bowl LIII in support of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who protested racial injustice by kneeling during the national anthem. At the time, she cited her commitment to Kaepernick’s cause as the reason for passing on the opportunity.
Fans of the rapper have expressed understanding and excitement for the future, anticipating the day Cardi B finally takes the Super Bowl stage.
Meanwhile, she continues to focus on her music career, releasing new hits and preparing for upcoming projects.
Her decision highlights her focus on artistic readiness and personal convictions, reinforcing her reputation for authenticity in both her music and public persona.

Kawhi Leonard reportedly paid $28 million for 'no-show job' with Clippers as way to get around salary cap, NBA investigating

The Los Angeles Clippers and owner Steve Ballmer are accused of paying star Kawhi Leonard $28 million for a "no-show job" as a way to circumvent the NBA salary cap, according to a report by Pablo Torre.
An NBA spokesperson told Yahoo Sports on Wednesday that the league is aware of Torre's report and is "commencing an investigation."
Torre laid out the alleged scandal on his program, "Pablo Torre Finds Out," on Wednesday. The show — which features plenty of direct quotes from legal documents — made the argument Leonard was paid $28 million through a company owned by Ballmer to essentially do nothing. Ballmer is accused of using the agreement as a way to pay Leonard more than his contract, which — if true — is a violation of NBA rules.
The entire situation revolves around a now-bankrupt company called Aspiration, a tree-planting service funded by Ballmer. Aspiration entered a $28 million legal agreement with KL2 Aspire, LLC, a company owned by Leonard.
Torre attempted to find any evidence that Leonard ever marketed for or endorsed the company, but came up empty. A clause in one of the contract documents between Aspiration and KL2 Aspire LLC stated Leonard could "decline to proceed with any action desired by the Company," essentially giving Leonard the ability to get paid without doing anything. Another clause stated Leonard would only be paid if he remained a member of the Clippers.
Correspondence from Aspiration to KL2 Aspire LLC were sent to Dennis Robertson, Leonard's advisor who was investigated by the NBA in 2019 for asking for impermissible benefits. The NBA completed that investigation into Robertson — also known as Uncle Dennis — and found no evidence the Clippers granted illegal benefits to Leonard while pursuing him in free agency.
Torre spoke to a handful of former Aspiration employees about the situation, one of which agreed to do an interview with a voice modifier. That employee claimed they were told the agreement between Aspiration and Leonard was done to "circumvent the salary cap."
The entire alleged scandal was summed up by Torre's show in a four-and-a-half minute video.
The Clippers responded to the allegations in a lengthy statement on Wednesday night, and said that the "notion that Steve invested in Aspiration in order to funnel money to Kawhi Leonard is absurd." They also said they "welcome" the NBA's investigation.
At the time of the 2019 investigation into Robertson, sources told Sam Amick of The Athletic that while no evidence of illegal benefits was found, NBA commissioner Adam Silver considers the issue "a cardinal sin of the NBA" and that the league would re-open its investigation into the situation if more evidence came to light.
Will Smith Signs Multi Picture Deal with Paramount
Two years ago actor Will Smith received a 10-year ban from the Academy Awards after slapping awards show host, comedian Chris Rock, during the live broadcast for joking about his wife, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith
Despite that, Will's Westbrook production company just signed a multi picture deal with Paramount Pictures...
From The Wrap
Paramount Pictures has signed a multi-picture deal with Will Smith and his entertainment venture company Westbrook, with two films set to star the Oscar winner already lined up.
One of the projects Smith is set to star in is “Sugar Bandits,” based on the novel “Devils in Exile” by Chuck Hogan which follows an Iraq War veteran who finds a new purpose by joining a group of vigilantes that go after drug rings and steal their money, only for things to quickly go south.
The other project, called “Rabbit Hole,” is currently under wraps but has “Dune” co-writer Jon Spaihts attached to the script.

Shannon Sharpe Responds to Ray Lewis’ Criticism of His Media Career Choices

*Ray Lewis recently expressed disappointment in Shannon Sharpe’s post-football career during an interview on the Valuetainment platform. We reported earlier that Lewis, a fellow NFL Hall of Famer, highlighted a rift in their long-time friendship, criticizing Sharpe’s focus on podcasting and television content.
“I wouldn’t in a million years believe the things that Shannon has said now,” Lewis said. “I never saw Shannon with a drink my entire career, and then I kind of started to watch him… We went our separate ways because I’m like, hmm, you’re gonna take that route. I can’t go that route.”
Lewis suggested Sharpe’s media path prioritizes fame and wealth over meaningful influence. “Everybody wants to be popular, everybody wants to make money. That’s a tightrope. The devil has the ability to make you popular. God has the ability to give you influence,” he stated.
He further described Sharpe’s approach as engaging in “gossip conversations” that promote “ignorance” rather than uplifting values. “That route is, is to become so worldly that you become popular because you’re talking about ignorance,” Lewis said.
Sharpe addressed Lewis’ comments on his show “Nightcap” alongside Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, opting for a measured response. “I got nothing bad to say,” Sharpe said, per Complex. “It’s low-hanging fruit and there are a lot of people taking your shot at your boy. Come on now. Y’all can have it, y’all got me.”
He implied the criticism ties to recent challenges, including his July 2025 settlement of a sexual assault case and his subsequent dismissal from ESPN.
Sharpe attributed the wave of critiques to opportunistic timing rather than substantive issues. “Everybody want to get a lick now because when your boy was doing good, a lot of people didn’t have a whole lot to say,” he remarked.

James Harden’s Houston Restaurant Closed After Allegedly Skipping Out on $2.2 Million Rent Bill
James Harden and his restaurant appear to be experiencing some financial hardship.
Thirteen, the NBA star’s Midtown Houston eatery, has been locked out by its landlord over more than $2.2 million in unpaid rent. A notice posted on the door confirms the massive balance, warning that the restaurant will remain closed until the debt is resolved.
Despite the lockout, Thirteen’s social media pages are still up and running, and the restaurant is currently accepting reservations online, suggesting a possible return. However, the comments on the posts have been turned off.
Harden launched Thirteen back in 2021, shortly after his high-profile exit from the Houston Rockets. The restaurant originally featured a Southern-inspired menu by celebrity chef Tobias Dorzon. In 2024, Thirteen underwent a complete transformation with a new interior and a globally influenced menu curated by chef Siddartha Cadena, whose resume includes top-tier restaurants in Shanghai and Bangkok.
At the time of the relaunch, management said Harden was exploring expansion opportunities. But now, it’s unclear what the future holds. Despite his business drama, Harden is still cashing in on the court. In July, he inked a two-year, $81.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Harvard Beats Trump in Court After $2 Billion Funding Freeze Overturned

Trump Administration Launches Federal Investigation into Harvard’s Exchange Visitor Program
Harvard University scored a major legal victory this week after a federal judge ruled that the Trump administration illegally cut off more than $2 billion in research funding.
The cuts were put in place after Harvard resisted pressure from Trump’s team to overhaul its governance and policies. The school argued the move was political punishment, not policy, and the court agreed.
Judge Allison D. Burroughs ruled that the funding freeze violated the Constitution, calling the action a clear attempt to use power to retaliate against the university. She also noted the administration’s claims about antisemitism were being used as a pretext to justify stripping resources.
The ruling doesn’t just restore billions to Harvard’s research programs, it also reaffirms that even the most powerful offices in the country can’t bend universities to their will by cutting off money.
This isn’t the first time the administration clashed with Harvard. A prior attempt to restrict international student enrollment was also blocked in court.
For now, the nation’s oldest university walks away with a decisive win, while Trump faces another high-profile courtroom loss.
