#MAGFAB: Vanity Fair Unveils Its 32nd Annual Hollywood Issue Featuring the New Generation of Leading Men

VANITY FAIR unveils its 32nd annual Hollywood Issue, spotlighting the new generation of leading men captivating audiences and propelling cultural conversation at a moment of industry transformation.
The 2025 Hollywood portfolio features: A$AP ROCKY, GLEN POWELL, AUSTIN BUTLER, JONATHAN BAILEY, JEREMY ALLEN WHITE, MICHAEL B. JORDAN, ANDREW GARFIELD, PAUL MESCAL, CALLUM TURNER, HARRIS DICKINSON, LAKEITH STANFIELD, AND RIZ AHMED.

Photographed by Theo Wenner and styled by Tom Guinness – and with an opening essay by author and novelist Ottessa Moshfegh – the portfolio features a collection of group and solo portraits, exclusive interviews, videos, and more.

About his first Hollywood Issue, VANITY FAIR’s Global Editorial Director, Mark Guiducci writes in his editor’s letter: “Together, the actors on these three covers of Vanity Fair’s 32nd annual Hollywood Issue illustrate something different. These are not the matinee idols of early cinema, sprung fully formed, names staged and hair dyed, from the head of some Zeusian studio chief. Nor do they present as puffed-up superheroes, even if occasionally they play them onscreen. Our new leading men are something much more radical: mere mortals. Often kind, sometimes vulnerable, each extraordinary—never before has a generation of actors been less performative, and more human. Have you ever wondered what an internet boyfriend becomes when he grows up? A movie star, it turns out. They are good guys rather than strongmen or bad boys—and we love them for it.”

#NewMusic from Teedra Moses Releases ‘Complex Simplicity (Reimagined)’ EP

Teedra Moses continues celebrating her lauded debut album with her new EP, Complex Simplicity (Reimagined).
The mini project includes eight reworked versions of songs from the album, with features from Dawn Richard, Estelle, Durand Bernarr, Ab-Soul, Theo Croker, Rose Gold and Gerald Clayton.

“When revisiting Complex Simplicity, I wanted to reconnect with the softer, more feminine parts of myself and bring that sensuality forward,” explained Moses. “When I recorded the original album, my approach was more aggressive because of where I was in life. With this reimagined version, I wanted to honor the lyrics fans have loved for two decades, while evolving the production to create something that feels both familiar and new.”

Estelle appears on “Doin You (Reimagined),” which was produced by Jacques Pierre. “The reimagining concept for ‘Doin’ You’ was to make women and men dance together,” Moses noted. “The rhythm Jacques and I came together on automatically invited Estelle. She is all these feels: sensual, sexy, soulful, fun and free!”

Bernarr is featured on the dancefloor-ready “Complex Simplicity (Reimagined),” helmed by Byron the Aquarius. “Durand Bernarr is an amazing artist in personality, performance, on stage and on record, an amazing vocalist, arranger, and songwriter,” Moses said.
“On this particular record, it really helps that he’s my friend because the song ‘Complex Simplicity’ is truly one of the most personal, yet extremely celebratory, songs I’ve ever written. He came in and did what he does best, which added more color, texture, and good feelings to a record that already felt really good. It was a seamless fit.”

Bernarr added, “The fact that I had an opportunity to reimagine music that was the soundtrack to moments in my life is beyond imaginable, and I’m extremely grateful to have this moment. Plus, Teedra is my girl!”
Complex Simplicity was released in 2004 via TVT Records. The classic R&B album included the singles “You’ll Never Find (a Better Woman)” featuring Jadakiss, “Be Your Girl,” and “You Better Tell Her.”

Last November, she performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert in honor of the album’s 20th anniversary. “Thank y’all so much for having me to celebrate 20 years of my debut album, Complex Simplicity,” Moses told the crowd and viewers. “It’s been a blessing to me. Thank you for being on the journey. I appreciate it. Life is still complex simplicity, so thug it out.”

#HipHopNews: GloRilla, Metro Boomin, Tems And More To Perform At Inaugural HBCU Aware Fest
The 2026 HBCU Aware Fest lineup includes artists like GloRilla, Jill Scott and John Legend.
The event supports the Student Freedom Initiative, helping Black students gain economic mobility.
Pre-sale tickets are available via the festival’s website.https://www.awarefest.org/

Live Nation Urban is bringing together some big names for its inaugural HBCU Aware Fest. On Monday (Nov. 17), organizers shared the lineup, which will see GloRilla, Metro Boomin, Jeezy and many more take the stage on March 26, 2026.
The event is being billed as the “biggest HBCU fundraiser ever,” with all proceeds supporting the Student Freedom Initiative. Founded by Morehouse College alum Robert F. Smith, the nonprofit was created to “provide freedom in professional and life choices” by helping students build greater social and economic mobility.

Other artists scheduled to perform at Aware Fest include Coco Jones, Jill Scott, Common and John Legend, to name just a few. Meanwhile, WNBA star Angel Reese, 2 Chainz, Ryan Clark, and Atlanta’s own mayor, Andre Dickens, are also expected to appear.

Attendees can sign up for pre-sale tickets via the festival’s website. In the meantime, see the full flyer here.
“HBCU Aware Fest brings together the nation’s top Black entertainers for an unforgettable night of music, unity and purpose. From legendary icons to rising stars, each performance celebrates the cultural power and legacy of HBCUs,” Aware Fest organizers shared in a statement in August. “This one-of-a-kind benefit concert raises awareness, funding and support for historically Black colleges and universities across America.”

Live Nation Urban president Shawn Gee added, “Live Nation Urban is committed to Black excellence in music and culture, and today we are proud to stand with our partners at Student Freedom Initiative to build a national movement of allies, artists, activities and students to support the institutions that are the foundation of our culture.”

HBCU Aware Fest attendees obviously have a lot to look forward to in the lineup. GloRilla is working on her sophomore album, while Metro Boomin’s 2010s Atlanta-inspired A Futuristic Summa arrived in August. The mixtape spawned “Take Me Thru Dere,” among plenty of party tracks the college crowd will latch onto fast.

Jones’ Why Not More? is competing for Best R&B Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards, so maybe by the time she hits the stage in March, she’ll have another trophy under her belt.

Usher Sues Bryan-Michael Cox Over Unpaid Loan for Restaurant That Never Opened

Usher has filed a lawsuit against one of his longtime music producers and a few others over a loan for a restaurant in Atlanta that never opened.
In the lawsuit filed on Nov. 14, Usher claims that producer Bryan-Michael Cox, who produced Usher hits including “U Got It Bad” and “Burn,” approached him in 2024 to invest in an upcoming restaurant and lounge Atlanta called Homage ATL.

Entertainment lawyer Alcide HonorΓ© and entertainment industry officials Keith Thomas and Charles Hughes are also named in the suit.
Usher revealed in the filing that he didn’t want to invest in the restaurant but agreed to loan the group $1.7 million that he wired over in January.
When the property for the location hadn’t been purchased months later, Usher asked the group to repay the loan. He said he received $1 million in compensation in August but has yet to receive the remaining $700,000.

Usher claims that HonorΓ© told him returning the money was “not that easy” because the money had been used for “other purposes.” The singer said he hasn't received an explanation about what it's been used for.
Usher is seeking $4.9 million in damages, which is $700,000 for each of the lawsuit’s claims.

In a recent conversation with TMZ in which Usher suggested he’d create his own clothing line, the singer revealed that he’d love to see Metallica perform at the Super Bowl.

'Wicked For Good' star Cynthia Erivo Releases New Book 'Simply More'
Cynthia Erivo shares her story encouraging readers to embrace their individuality. The award-winning actress, singer and producer looks back on her path to stardom and the wisdom she gathered along her journey.

In this vulnerable and enlightening book of life lessons, globally renowned performer Cynthia Erivo draws from her singular experience to show us how to embrace being “too much” and to live up to the fullest iteration of ourselves.

It is never too late to build the life you’re seeking.

Cynthia Erivo learned the music to Wicked a decade before she needed it, not knowing those same lyrics would change her life. Now she has performed those songs on the world stage, showing us there is always time to keep discovering ourselves. And to illustrate that it’s often the parts of ourselves we are told to bury that make us shine.

In a series of powerful, personal vignettes, Cynthia reflects on the ways she has grown as an actor and human and the practices she’s learned over years of performing and reminds us all we are capable of so much more than we think.

We all have hopes and dreams that we want to bring across the finish line. We all falter and take missteps. In this book, Cynthia draws from her experiences running marathons, both real and metaphorical, onstage and onscreen, to show how each challenge can help us. She urges readers to lean into the wisdom of their bodies, to understand and strive for a physical and mental balance. Because when we chase our deepest desires, each small step leads us closer to where we want to go. The book is on newsstands now.

Nicki Minaj speaks at The UN and supports Trump claim Christians being persecuted in Nigeria

Rapper Nicki Minaj has publicly backed President Donald Trump's allegations that Christians face persecution in Nigeria.
"In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted," Minaj said on Tuesday at an event organised by the US, adding: "Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart... simply because of how they pray."
It follows recent threats by Trump to send troops into Nigeria "guns a-blazing" if its government "continues to allow the killing of Christians".

Analysts say there is no evidence that Christians have been specifically targeted in Nigeria.
Jihadists and other armed groups have waged campaigns of violence that affect all communities in the West African nation, regardless of background or belief.
This is a point that the Nigerian government has also repeatedly made since Trump made his comments.

Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, said calling for the protection of Christians in Nigeria was "not about taking sides or dividing people... but about "uniting humanity".
"This is about standing up in the face of injustice. It's about what I've always stood for," she added while standing alongside the US ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz.
The 42-year-old rapper thanked Trump for "prioritizing this issue and for his leadership".

The Nigeria government has pushed back on these claims, describing them as "a gross misrepresentation of reality".
It did not deny that there was deadly violence in the country. But officials said that "terrorists attack all who reject their murderous ideology - Muslims, Christians and those of no faith alike".
Other groups monitoring political violence in Nigeria say the number of Christians who have been killed is far lower, and say most victims of the jihadist groups are Muslims.

The country's 220 million people are roughly evenly split between followers of the two religions, with Muslims in the majority in the north, where most attacks take place.
Minaj described Nigeria as "a beautiful nation with deep faith traditions" and even acknowledged the "beautiful Barbz" - her fans - in the West African country.
Waltz thanked the rapper for "leveraging her massive platform to spotlight the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria".

On Wednesday, Nigeria police in south-western Kwara state confirmed a deadly attack on a church in the town of Eruku, where gunmen opened fire on worshipers the previous day, killing two people and abducting several others.
Local media say armed men, identified by residents as bandits, stormed the Christ Apostolic Church during an evening programme on Tuesday evening, shooting the pastor and rounding up worshipers at gunpoint.
Images and short video clips - believed to be from the church's CCTV cameras - have circulated widely online, showing terrified worshipers scrambling for safety, including an elderly woman seen desperately trying to escape the gunmen.

For months, right-wing campaigners and politicians in Washington have been alleging that Islamist militants were systematically targeting Christians in Nigeria.
But according to the BBC they have found that some of the data being relied on to come to this conclusion is difficult to verify.
Deadly disputes are also often over vital resources like land and water or fuelled by inter-ethnic tensions, rather than religion, say analysts.

Are Christians being persecuted in Nigeria as Trump claims?
Minaj previously namechecked her fanbase, known as the "Barbz", as a reason for her intervention, saying online: "The Barbz & I will never stand down in the face of injustice. We've been given our influence by God. There must be a bigger purpose."
Last year she publicly revealed that despite moving from her native Trinidad to New York at an early age, she still does not have US citizenship.

Her appearance at the UN on Tuesday is her highest-profile political intervention to date.
She made headlines during the pandemic for sharing disinformation about side-effects of the Covid vaccine - claiming that when a friend of her cousin had the jab, it caused his testicles to swell up and he became impotent.
"His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding," Minaj wrote online.

Her comments were criticised by UK's chief medical officer at the time, and then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson also commented, joking: "I am not as familiar with the works of Nicki Minaj as I probably should be."
In recent months, her years-long feud with fellow New York rapper Cardi B escalated to them trading insults about each others' careers and family members.

D4vd Considered Primary Suspect in Celeste Rivas Homicide Investigation

D4vd faces scrutiny from law enforcement officials who now consider him a primary suspect in the death of teenager Celeste Rivas, whose decomposed remains were discovered inside his abandoned Tesla vehicle.
Authorities are treating the case as a homicide investigation despite pending toxicology results from the Medical Examiner’s office, according to law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the probe who spoke exclusively to TMZ.

The investigation has uncovered disturbing details about the musician’s activities during spring 2025, when sources claim he made a mysterious overnight journey to a remote location in Santa Barbara County, where he remained for several hours.
The significance of this trip and its connection to the ongoing probe remains unclear.

Celeste’s body was found severely decomposed inside a plastic bag in the front trunk of the Tesla after the vehicle was towed to an impound lot in early September.
The 15-year-old’s remains showed evidence of dismemberment, with investigators believing the manner of the body’s condition suggests multiple people were involved in the crime.

D4vdr had been residing in a Hollywood Hills rental property that became the subject of a police search for blood evidence. His Tesla was discovered abandoned on a nearby street before being impounded, leading to the grisly discovery.

No photographs or video footage of Celeste have surfaced since September 2024, raising additional questions about the timeline of events leading to her death.
LAPD officials confirmed Monday they are not close to making an arrest in the case, while the investigation continues to unfold. The department has not identified any additional suspects beyond D4vd at this time.

The artist’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations.

Former NBA Player Patrick Beverley Accused of Choking and Punching 15-Year-Old Sister Before Assault Arrest

New details are emerging about the arrest of former NBA player Patrick Beverley, who allegedly assaulted his 15-year-old sister, per police
An affidavit obtained says his sister claims Beverley choked her for 20-30 seconds "causing her to feel pain" and becoming unable to breathe
Beverley allegedly told his sister he would "be the family relative to kill her" during the incident, per the police affidavit

Former NBA player Patrick Beverley allegedly assaulted and threatened his 15-year-old sister's life before his arrest on Friday, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained and reviewed by PEOPLE.
According to the documents filed in Texas' Fort Bend County court on Friday, Nov. 14, his sister told police the incident happened after she returned home from visiting her boyfriend. Her mother, Lisa Beverley, allegedly invited her daughter's boyfriend into the home, where she says the former NBA player scolded his sister for "leaving the residence without permission."

His sister alleges Beverley, 37, then "grabbed her by her neck with both hands" and "picked her up off the ground," per the police affidavit.
Beverley also allegedly squeezed his sister's neck "causing her to feel pain," per the documents. She allegedly told officers she felt like she "was losing oxygen and not able to breathe."

According to the documents, Beverley allegedly choked his sister's neck between 20 and 30 seconds, removing her from one room in the home to another "by still holding her neck."
Beverley allegedly "began to slam her body against the walls of the residence, and was still holding her by the neck," his sister told police, adding that she attempted to loosen her brother's grip by grabbing onto his wrists.

The former NBA player, who was recently called out by Klay Thompson for his comments about Thompson's girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion, allegedly laid his sister on the sofa before he "stood on top of her, and punched her approximately one time on her left eye with a closed fist," according to the affidavit.
Beverly’s sister claimed their mother, Lisa, remained inside of her bedroom during the reported assault, according to the affidavit.
A final detail in the affidavit says Beverley allegedly told his sister he would "be the family relative to kill her" during the assault.

Beverley was taken into custody by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department on Friday on a charge of allegedly assaulting a family or household member in a way that impedes breathing or circulation, according to court records viewed by PEOPLE. TMZ was first to report the news.

He was released on a $40,000 bail later that day, according to court records.
Following his arrest, Beverley said, "Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv," in a post on X.

"Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister – a young lady, a minor," Beverley's attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, said in a statement to TMZ that was also posted on Beverley's X page. "Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court."

Was Eddie Murphy Propositioned by Yul Brenner?

Comedian Eddie Murphy claims he once misunderstood an indecent proposal from iconic actor Yul Brenner and missed out on the time of his life...According to The Daily Mail
'My 21st birthday party I had at Studio 54,' Murphy recalled. 'Yul Brynner, Ten Commandments, he was with his wife and he was like, "How would you like to go back to my apartment with my wife and I and party?" And I was like, "Nah, I'm cool!" And I realized as I got older, his wife was smiling. Did he want me to go f**k his wife?'

Murphy joked that the story almost became an outrageous legend of its own if he had accepted their proposal.
'The story would [have] ended better,' he quipped. 'You know, "Yeah, I went back to Yul Brynner's and f**ked his wife, and he was watching me going, "Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!"'
Brynner died just three years later, in 1985, following a battle with lung cancer.

Taylor Swift Inspired Cambridge Dictionary's 2025 Word of the Year
The Cambridge Dictionary word of the year has been announced, and you might be surprised to learn what pop culture couple inspired it!
The 2025 word is “parasocial,” which means “involving or relating to a connection that someone feels between themselves and a famous person they do not know, a character in a book, film, TV series, etc, or an artificial intelligence.”
That is a term that has been floating around online spaces for a while now, so it makes sense why it would achieve “word of the year” status.

According to the Cambridge University Press & Assessment, the decision to give “parasocial” the honor stems from how attached fans have become to everything from pop stars and influencers to their ChatGPT bots.
“Millions of fans related to Taylor Swift’s confessional lyrics about dating, heartbreak and desire, leading to what psychologists describe as ‘parasocial’ bonds with stars. When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement, many fans felt a deep connection to the singer and American footballer, even though most had never met them,” shares the news release.

Similarly, they comment on how AI bots have become increasingly prevalent, with people using them as “a confidant, friend or even romantic partner.”
And yes, the term can, and often does, have negative connotations, such as when Chappell Roan called out invasive fan behaviors.

“The rise of parasocial relationships has redefined fandom, celebrity and, with AI, how ordinary people interact online,” said Simone Schnall, University of Cambridge.

Wendell Carter Jr. Confirms He's Locked In' With Angel Reese

Wendell Carter Jr. is giving fans the confirmation they’ve been waiting for regarding his relationship with fellow basketball star Angel Reese!
The 26-year-old Orlando Magic forward appeared on FanDuel’s NBA show Run It Back on Monday (November 17), where he seemingly confirmed that he and the 23-year-old Chicago Sky standout are dating.

When asked about their relationship status, Wendell smiled and said, “We locked in.”
“Y’all gonna find out when y’all need to find out. We’ll just leave it at that. That’s my girl, though. We locked in for sure,” he added.

Rumors first sparked in May after Wendell and Angel were spotted together at her birthday party. A few months later, he attended one of her WNBA All-Star games while wearing a shirt with her photo on it.

Stevie Wonder Reflects on ‘Where I’m Coming From’ as the Album He Wishes He Could Redo
*Stevie Wonder has opened up about one album from his catalog he wishes he could revisit, revealing mixed feelings about a pivotal record that marked his transition toward creative independence.
“Where I’m Coming From,” released when Wonder was 21, represents a turning point in his relationship with Motown Records, though the artist now views it as rushed. Wonder’s journey with Motown began at age 12, when creative control wasn’t part of the equation for young artists. The label, under Berry Gordy’s leadership, maintained tight oversight over its roster’s output. Despite becoming the youngest artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 at 13, Wonder faced increasing restrictions as he matured and sought greater artistic autonomy.

As his contract approached expiration upon reaching legal adulthood, Wonder seized the opportunity with his thirteenth record. He incorporated socially conscious themes in “Where I’m Coming From,” without label interference. The timing proved strategic, allowing him to experiment freely during his final obligation to Motown.

Despite achieving what he needed creatively at that moment, Wonder later characterized the entire album as “premature,” suggesting the material required more development time.
“We did ‘Where I’m Coming From’ — that was kinda premature to some extent, but I wanted to express myself,” Wonder told Rolling Stone. “A lot of it now I’d probably remix. But ‘Never Dreamed You’d Leave in Summer’ came from that album, and ‘If You Really Love Me’. But it’s nothing like the things I write now.”

The record performed well commercially upon release but lacked the longevity Wonder believed it could have achieved with additional refinement. Looking back, he recognizes it as essential groundwork for his later experimental work, even if the execution fell short of his current standards.

Wonder’s current creative philosophy has evolved significantly since those Motown days. “I love gettin’ into just as much weird shit as possible,” he added, describing his modern approach to music-making.

HUH????? Churches Are Replacing Pastors With AI Chatbots That Let You Confess to Jesus

Churches are stepping into a new era of worship as artificial intelligence becomes a digital partner in the pulpit. From sermon preparation to prayer chatbots that simulate divine conversations, faith leaders are testing the waters of tech-driven spirituality.

According to a report by Axios, AI is being embraced by some religious communities as a way to stay afloat during a time of declining membership, financial strain, and rising demand for digital services. As congregations shrink and clergy are stretched thin, new apps offer personalized prayers, scripture guidance, and even virtual conversations with biblical figures.
Some apps, like “Text With Jesus,” promise users a chance to “embark on a spiritual journey and engage in enlightening conversations with Jesus Christ.” The app even allows interactions with other biblical characters, including Mary, Joseph, Judas Iscariot, and Satan. Meanwhile, Catholic platforms like One Day Confess and Confession – Catholic help guide users through reflection and confession using AI-driven prompts.

“What could go wrong?” sarcastically asked Robert P. Jones, CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute, pointing to the ethical questions that arise when AI mimics divine voices.
Beyond conversation, churches are deploying AI chatbots like EpiscoBot to manage event schedules, scripture sharing, and spiritual FAQs. Pastors like Rev. Louis Attles have developed tools to assist in research and sermon writing.

“You can’t outsource your morality,” Attles said. “It cannot keep a covenant for you.”
Rev. Chris Hope, who consults on ethical AI through the Hope Group, sees promise: “Every church or house of worship is a business. There are absolutely opportunities to generate AI bots to evangelize.”

Still, experts warn that many apps rely on unvetted or ideologically narrow data.
“The risks are very high,” said Mark Graves, research director at AI and Faith.
