#RHOA: Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton's Rift Casts a Shadow Over Scotland
Porsha and Shamea have been two sharks circling each other for weeks, and finally, in the confines of a Scottish restaurant, they have no choice but to confront things face-to-face. As Shamea said after leaving dinner in tears, “It was only a matter of time.” That statement is where my agreement with Shamea begins and ends, because while the confrontation itself was inevitable, the bullet Shamea chose to bring to the table does not land the way she thought it would.
Much to Shamea’s disdain, as we pick up on day two of the trip, the group largely brushes past Angela’s latest accusation about Shamea’s alleged extramarital affairs, moving right along with a culture-filled day of activities (I loved Porsha’s Lady Gaga reference; hated Kelli’s Coming to America McDowell’s hat). First, there are the Highland games, where the ladies toss hammers, fling logs, and drag each other in a tug-of-war. The tug-of-war battle is a metaphor for the whole season, with the women with stronger story lines (Porsha, Pinky, Drew, and Angela) easily washing the others. They drag Kelli through the grass as hard as real life is currently dragging her, with her tiny feet flying through the air, and Angela hilariously notes she’s wanted to drag her this whole trip.
The jubilant energy is strong but not strong enough to penetrate what Pinky calls the dark cloud surrounding Shamea. While Porsha and Shamea haven’t interacted directly all season, the pressure of their standoff is wearing on Shamea, with her desperation subconsciously spilling into her relationships with the other women in the group. To make matters worse, two of Shamea’s main allies — Pinky and K. Michelle — are slowly losing confidence in her. Now, on the second day of the trip, they officially realize they picked the wrong team and prepare to jump ship. K. Michelle tells Pinky the last straw came last night, after the George fiasco, when Shamea said she doesn’t have anyone in the group but Kelli. Pinky agrees, saying she can’t help but notice that Shamea is the common denominator in most of the group’s issues, and that’s probably heavily affecting her. K. Michelle takes it too far (as she’s wont to do) by saying Shamea “turned into this monster.” When you peel back the theatrics, there is a grain of truth in what she’s saying: Shamea’s not a monster, but she is overflowing with rage, rejection, and grief, and it’s brought out the worst in her.
As Shamea spirals, Porsha only gains more power. She’s built stamina and savvy from playing the chess game that is Housewives for a full decade. After weeks of meticulously inflicting her indifference on Shamea, she scores a major checkmate by squashing her beef with Shamea’s right hand, Kelli. Upon hearing about Porsha and Kelli’s late-night kumbaya, we can practically see Shamea swallowing her displeasure as she shifts in her seat. She’s honest in her confessional, saying it’s hard to see Porsha forgive others while they’re still fighting.
Shamea’s anger keeps brewing as Porsha and Phaedra take the ladies to a tailor specializing in traditional tartans. On the way to the shop, she tries to keep her cool, joking along with the group when Drew discusses her weak pelvic floor, and Porsha leads them in Kegel exercises. But even sexual innuendo, which is Shamea’s favorite type of humor, doesn’t quiet her anxieties, and seeing Kelli kiki with Porsha definitely doesn’t help either. By the time they finish picking out sashes for Phaedra’s birthday celebration and head to a restaurant for dinner, Shamea may have buried her discontent, but, like her teenage-zit comparison, it’s growing bigger and bigger beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment to burst.
At dinner, Drew catches the group up on her music career, announcing a collaboration with Ray Jay (lol, no comment) and an upcoming tour that Dennis is helping her with. Despite being on good terms with Porsha, Drew would never miss an opportunity to instigate a story line. She tells Porsha that Dennis poured his heart out to her, saying Porsha is the one who got away. Okay, Dennis, maybe don’t cheat on the mother of your child, and you wouldn’t be in this position. Porsha basically says as much, while also saying Dennis is bothered by Sway’s presence and Porsha being in a same-sex relationship. Porsha says Dennis doesn’t deserve an opinion and that he should trust her regarding Pilar’s well-being. At the mention of Pilar, Shamea’s discontent finally boils over, and she says that Dennis told Gerald that Porsha wasn’t comfortable with Pilar playing at the Mwangis’. She says it hurt her feelings, but I’m not sure why she’s surprised. Just a few episodes ago, Shamea gleefully said she would’ve invited Simon over for Gerald’s party if he were allowed in the country. Why would Porsha want her daughter around someone like that?
Shamea keeps poking Porsha, saying she hopes they won’t let their relationship’s disintegration affect the kids. Now that Porsha and Shamea are forced to address each other head-on without the flexibility of filming in Atlanta, Porsha changes tactics, going from snide indifference to doubling down on why she no longer fucks with Shamea. Porsha says the only way she’d have such a deep falling out with someone and still have her child around them would be if that person were her sister. Shamea, in her pain and desperation to “win,” plays obtuse, saying, “I thought I was like your sister.” Porsha admits that at one point she did have that relationship with Shamea, but after last year, that chapter is closed.
The finality of Porsha’s boundary bursts open the floodgates of what’s been left unsaid. Shamea claims that, despite Andy Cohen confirming that Porsha always wanted Shamea to have a peach, there was an off-camera conversation in which Porsha said she didn’t want Shamea on the show full-time because she wanted RHOA to herself and didn’t want to ruin their friendship. But also, what’s wrong with being honest about not wanting to permanently share your favorite toy with your friend? It’s immature and petty, sure, but not worthy of what comes next (though I am the middle of five siblings, so I may be the wrong person to weigh in).
Regardless of whether the conversation occurred, Shamea’s actions illustrate why I could believe Porsha wasn’t fully onboard with Shamea getting a peach, even if she supported it publicly. Or she battled with holding those two conflicting feelings, a battle which is really the distillation of how sticky and complicated close female friendships can get, especially those that span generations. Just read Sula! Plus the kill-or-be-killed Real Housewives arena isn’t exactly known as a safe space for already shaky relationships to incubate. It usually does the opposite, and I’m getting an unpleasant spray-tan-tinged whiff of Teresa-and-Melissa energy. Or worse, it’s like when Mia and Jacqueline fell out on RHOP — their rich shared history led them to cut to the dark meat and uncover past traumas that had no business being reality-TV fodder.

And they closed all the doors, then somebody rushed the door. They closed the door. But [for the sake of] you guys’ safety and everybody’s safety outside—there’s 10,000 people outside—I didn’t wanna start music, and people get trampled.”
During the peak of the lockdown, officials completely halted all entry and exit while working to resolve the situation. Around 10 p.m., fans were finally permitted inside through a slow, meticulous screening process. Heightened security measures continued all night, with officers posted at every gate. Even celebrities like LeBron James and A$AP Rocky were stranded outside. Consequently, the concert—originally set for 8 p.m.—was severely delayed, and JAY-Z did not take the stage until roughly 12:20 a.m.
In response to the extreme delay, Roc Nation and Yankee Stadium released a joint statement following the show.
”The Yankees, Roc Nation, and Live Nation express our deep gratitude to the NYPD and to Yankee Stadium security personnel for their leadership and direction throughout the evening, putting the welfare of attendees above all other considerations.”

"Their passion speaks to the enduring appeal of one of the greatest recording artists of all time, and it underscores the continued strength and vitality of the theatrical moviegoing experience."

Legendary British Actor Sam Neill, of Jurassic Park’ fame, Dies at 78
Sam Neill, the actor who made Dr. Alan Grant a household name across three decades of Jurassic Park films, died Monday in Sydney, Australia, the New York Times reports. He was 78.
His family announced the news in a statement posted to Neill's social media feed. "It is with immense sadness that the whānau of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney Australia," the statement read. "Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life. The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free. They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent's Private Hospital for their incredible care."

Mystikal Transferred To Maximum-Security Prison To Serve 20-Year Sentence
New Orleans rapper Mystikal will spend the next 20 years at Louisiana State Penitentiary which is nicknamed the “Alcatraz of the South”.
Michael Lawrence Tyler, better known as his stage name Mystikal, was arrested in 2022 for allegedly raping and choking a woman at his home in Prairieville, LA.
The victim said Tyler punched her, pulled braids out of her hair and forcibly raped her.
During the hearing, the victim stated she had been raped and tortured for hours. A medical exam later found her injuries were consistent with her statement.
“Once we got there [the hospital], we talked to the victim, who had some very visible injuries on her body, and she was very distraught,” said Donovan Jackson, spokesman for the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office per WAFB. “She talked with us, we interviewed her, and she was able to identify who the suspect was. And in this case, it was Michael Tyler, also known as Mystikal.”
Tyler was held in the Ascension Parish Jail following his arrest, according to jail records. He remained in custody without bond.
He was sentenced last month (June 2026) after entering a guilty plea, though he later attempted to file a motion to withdraw his plea.
Tyler will serve his 20-year sentence at Angola, America’s largest maximum-security prison, after the third-degree rape conviction.

A new Nightmare is coming! Paramount Pictures has inked a deal to make a film based off the original screenplay of Wes Craven‘s A Nightmare on Elm Street, according to a new report Monday (July 18) from THR.
The iconic slasher series stars Freddy Krueger (a role originated by Robert Englund), the knife-gloved serial killer who stalks teens in their dreams.
The new movie will come from Paramount’s new genre label Paramount Primal. It’s being licensed from the Craven estate, including the late director’s widow Iya Labunka and his son Jonathan Craven.
“We look forward to bringing the world of Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street to a new and completely engaged generation of fans,” said Iya in a statement.
“We know that Wes would have been thrilled to see how horror is taking its long overdue place in the cultural canon. We can’t wait for all of us to sit together in a dark theatre – around the campfire of today – as the next chapter of the Nightmare story unfolds.”
“We can’t remember a time before we were fans of Wes Craven. The fact that Iya and Jonathan have entrusted us with this opportunity to help usher a new story into this world is an honor beyond words. We look forward to working alongside them to bring a terrifying new nightmare to audiences everywhere, and to welcome Freddy home,” added Paramount producers J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules.
There are still no details about what the new movie would be about, but it has been described as being “set in the world of A Nightmare on Elm Street, based on the original screenplay.” Stay tuned!
