#MAGFAB: Cynthia Erivo and Jason Bolden for The Hollywood Reporter - Power Stylists Issue 2025
This is probably my favourite issue that The Hollywood Reporter does every year – and it always happens right after the Oscars: The Power Stylists List and this year THR has named Jason Bolden the Stylist of the Year, well deserved! I was just talking last week about Jason’s output over the last year on this relentless Wicked tour but also, we’ve been waiting for this moment for 12 months now.

Because, if you recall, in my post about THR’s Power Stylists list last year, I singled out Jason’s at-the-time new partnership with Nicole Kidman and we have seen the results he’s been able to achieve with her in a short amount of time.

For a long, long time, Hollywood styling was dominated by white women and now, with Jason, Law Roach, Wayman + Micah, and Shiona Turini (Beyoncé’s stylist) in the field, the landscape is becoming more diverse…and so are the looks!
But I don’t think we can have this conversation and the way we’ve been having it without Zoë Saldaña. Because she was on it before even Nicole was. Nicole’s stylist, Jason Bolden, is getting his flowers now, after a year of working with her, but exactly ten years ago, Nicole made headlines at the Grammys, in really great Thierry Mugler dress, because she refused to answer Ryan Seacrest’s question about her look. “I don’t know what to say” is how she responded, followed by awkward silence.

I posted about it at the time, and the title of that post was “Sit DOWN, Nicole Kidman” and I stand by it, don’t even need hindsight to stand by it. At the time, Hollywood actresses were all caught up in the #askhermore thing, a protest against double standards on the red carpet. Which I’m not saying wasn’t valid but for the actresses to focus it entirely on the clothing also kinda missed the point, especially when you consider that so much actual work goes into what they’re wearing – work that so many WOMEN were doing. And now their credit was being taken away.

A decade later and it’s all about theme dressing, full wardrobes that become part of promotion and marketing, nobody’s bristling at being asked about who they’re wearing and WHY they’re wearing it. And the gender divide has virtually disappeared because the men are turning it out sometimes more than the women. Thank you, Colman Domingo and Timothée Chalamet!

#RHOA: "We Are Happy": Cynthia Bailey Shares Why She Kept Her Relationship Private
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey is opening up about her secret relationship! The Bravolebrity just announced that she has been dating an Amsterdam-based musician named LePrince for almost a year now. However, the two decided to keep their relationship out of the public eye so they could focus on getting to know each other without any kind of pressure from the outside world. The reality star shared that she and LePrince have spent a lot of time traveling together and that their long-distance relationship has worked well so far.

While speaking with PEOPLE, Cynthia expressed that she and her boyfriend are excited to see where their relationship goes in the future. The reality star admitted that she has been visiting Amsterdam and Switzerland a lot to support LePrince at his performances. Cynthia first shared the personal update during the Bravo Fan Fest in November 2024. Back then, the reality star confessed that she was happily dating a younger guy. However, she chose not to reveal any more details about her boyfriend at the time.

The news comes shortly after the RHOA alum and her boyfriend were spotted cozying up at Los Angeles International Airport while catching a flight back to Atlanta. As reported by TMZ, LePrince works as a singer, music producer, and DJ who specializes in mixing reggae and electronic music.
During a recent appearance on The View, Porsha Williams opened up about her highly anticipated return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16, which premiered on March 9, 2025. The reality star left the show in 2021 after eight seasons and is making her comeback after three years. According to Porsha, she took the break when she was turning 40 and had just had her daughter. The reality star confessed that back then, she just wanted to spend time with her child, away from the cameras.

Porsha shared that she had been in talks with the producers for a while before finally deciding to return. She had actually planned on returning to RHOA earlier, but according to the Bravolebrity, life got in the way. While talking about her very public divorce from Simon Guobadia, Porsha shared that it felt like “a death in the family.” The reality star added that she has become a very different person after going through two divorces now, one of which took place shortly after she joined RHOA in 2012.

Porsha also addressed the public scrutiny surrounding her split and claimed that she was no longer letting other people’s opinions dictate how she lived her life. According to the reality star, she has been a “people pleaser” in the past, which often took a hit on her self-worth. But now, she is ready to step into a new chapter of her life with confidence while prioritizing herself and her son. The reality star added that her return to RHOA will give fans a glimpse into how she navigates life post-divorce.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 premiered on March 9, 2025.

#MusicNews: D'Wayne Wiggins, founding member of the R&B group Tony! Toni! Tone!, has died at 64

D'Wayne Wiggins, a founding member of the Grammy-nominated group Tony! Toni! Tone! behind the classic 1990s jams "Anniversary," "It Never Rains (In Southern California)" and "(Lay Your Head on My) Pillow," has died. He was 64.
Wiggins died Friday morning after battling bladder cancer for over the past year, according to a statement released by his family on social media.

"D'Wayne's life was incomparable, and his music and service impacted millions around the world, including in his hometown of Oakland, California," his family said in a statement. "He was a guitarist, producer, composer, philanthropist, mentor and founding member of Tony! Toni! Tone! He was deeply passionate about providing artist development and mentorship to emerging young musicians, helping to shape the early careers of many."

His family added: "Through this fight, he remained committed and present for his family, his music, his fans and his community."
Wiggins was a vocalist and bass guitarist of the beloved R&B group, which included his brother Raphael Saadiq and their cousin Christian Riley. The group became mainstays of the New Jack Swing movement, blending R&B, jazz and traces of gospel melodies.
The Oakland, California, natives burst onto the music scene with their 1988 debut album, "Who?" with songs like "Baby Doll" and "Little Walter." But it was their 1990 New Jack Swing-infused "Feels Good" record that gave the group mainstream success, peaking at No. 9 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

They released two more studio projects together, with party hits like "Let's Get Down," featuring DJ Quik, and timeless slow jams including "Whatever You Want," "It Never Rains (In Southern California)," "(Lay Your Head on My) Pillow" and "Anniversary," a standard in the Black music romance canon. Their "It Never Rains" version was a cover of the 1972 hit by British singer-songwriter Albert Hammond.

The blood relatives also couldn't predict how their success would affect their relationship. The Tonyies went their separate ways after their fourth album, 1996's platinum-selling "House of Music." Fame. Finances, miscommunication and creative differences were unsustainable for the group.
Wiggins and Riley toured under the group's name between 1998 and 2018, with Amar Khalil taking over lead singing duties. Wiggins also produced and helped grow young artists who would become some of today's brightest young stars, including Zendaya, H.E.R., Kehlani and even Destiny's Child.

Ultimately, through Saadiq's efforts, the group made amends and reunited for a tour in 2023. It was the first road trip featuring the three original members in nearly 30 years.
The family members vowed not to let outside influences like managers, record executives and the entertainment business as a whole drive them apart again, realizing that time — at least in the professional sense — is no longer a luxury.

In a 2023 interview with The AP, The Tony's had planned on a new project.
"We got a lot of material, and now we just want to make sure that we put out the right energy through our music," Wiggins said.

#HipHopNews: Gillie Da Kid Cries Over Son's Death To Meek Mill's Powerful 'proud Of Me' Verse
````
Gillie Da Kid became incredibly emotional during an episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game as he listened to Fridayy and Meek Mill‘s “Proud of Me.”
While next to Fridayy in his podcast studio, Gillie and the Philadelphia singer rapped along to the mournful song, with Gillie becoming overcome with emotion as the track progressed.
His emotions boiled over during Meek’s powerful guest verse and he began to cry over the death of his son, YNG Cheese, shouting: “I’ll give all this shit up to get Cheese back!”
At the end of the song, Gillie, with tears in his eyes, said: “That shit touched my heart, man. That shit hit different. Especially when you lose a lot of muthafuckas out here.”
Meek Mill commented on the moving clip on Instagram, writing: “[fire emoji] long live cheese!!! You definitely making him proud.”
“Proud of Me” appears on Fridayy’s new album Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not, which was released last month.
Gillie Da Kid recently opened up about finding out that his son’s killer, a high school basketball star and drill rapper named Noah Scurry, had also been murdered himself.
In an interview with Shannon Sharpe, Gillie was asked if he had met the person who gunned down his son in 2023, to which he gave a surprising answer.
“I’ve never met him. Only reason I knew is because the police called me and told me once he was murdered,” he said.
“The kid had just got shot 17 times. He was walking with his mom and he got murdered. And then the police notified me and let me know that he was one of the kids that was pretty much about to get locked up for the murder, but he got murdered first.”
He added: “He had to deal with God, that’s how I look at it.”
When Sharpe later brought up the recent death of Scurry, unaware of the connection, an astonished Gillie replied: “That’s who killed my son… Yeah, the 17-year-old basketball player that just got shot 17 times, that’s who killed my son.”
Scurry’s death, which occurred in Philadelphia last month, made national news as he was a promising athlete and straight-A student. The teen was killed during a shooting while on his way to school with his mother.
Police have yet to comment on if there is any relation between the
Wendy Williams To Enlist A$AP Rocky’s Attorney In Guardianship Case
Wendy Williams is looking to use A$AP Rocky‘s attorney to end her contentious guardianship. Joe Tacopina shared on the 2 Angry Men podcast that she reached out to him to represent her in a case to end the two-year court mandate.
Tacopina asserted that he was alarmed after watching Tubi’s Saving Wendy documentary and declared the treatment of the iconic talking head as “a true injustice.” TMZ quoted the lawyer saying, “Murderers have more freedom than Wendy.”
Joe Tacopina was the lawyer who helped secure Rocky’s win in his Hollywood assault case against his former associate, A$AP Relli. Although some jurors have revealed that they didn’t believe the rapper’s “prop gun” story, they chose to acquit the fashion designer.
“Everybody was really focused on delivering justice,” one unidentified juror stated. “I think that we really took our time. We discussed all the issues and all the questions that we had, we clarified those, and we really kind of looked over some pieces of the evidence that people wanted to see a little bit more closely. And I think that we did the best we could with the instructions that we had, and with the evidence that we had.”
Regardless, Ms. Williams is hoping that the 58-year-old could work his magic to win her freedom. In a January interview with The Breakfast Club, Williams gave her first public statement since the release of the controversial Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams?.
The former talk show host explained that her experience with the court mandate has felt like “jail” and called out her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, who previously claimed her to be “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.”
“I am not cognitively impaired. But I feel like I am in prison,” Williams detailed to DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and guest host Loren LoRosa. “I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s. There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.”
Kandi Burruss’ Blaze Restaurant Owes Over $150K In Back Rent, Lawsuit Claims
Kandi Burruss‘ upscale restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood, is facing legal trouble as the restaurant’s landlord claims it owes a hefty sum in unpaid rent and repair costs.
Montego Pacific Inc., the property owner, filed a lawsuit in Fulton County State Court on Monday (March 3) alleging that the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her establishment owe $154,139.17. In addition, the suit claims Blaze owes another $56,495.75 for property repairs, along with a 10 percent overhead fee.
Per the suit, if the back rent isn’t paid, Burruss could be looking at an additional $12,083.50 per month in accrued interest. Neither Burruss nor her legal team have yet to address the lawsuit. Montego Pacific has reportedly given her 10 days to settle the outstanding balance before further legal action is taken.
The Xscape singer/songwriter and actress opened Blaze Steak & Seafood in Atlanta in 2020 with her husband, Todd Tucker. The couple also owns Old Lady Gang, a Southern comfort food eatery in Castleberry Hill.
Although Blaze has received great reviews — scoring a 93 with the Georgia Department of Public Health in 2023 — Old Lady Gang has had some negative feedback from its consumers.
Aside from Tamar Braxton straight up saying the food there is “nasty” in 2023, popular food critic and viral TikTok sensation Keith Lee also shared a disappointing encounter at the restaurant. Known for his candid and unfiltered reviews, Lee revealed that despite being “invited” to visit, his family left without being served.
The former MMA fighter explained that he initially sent his family inside to place a to-go order, only to be denied due to Old Lady Gang’s policies. They were also informed that the wait for a table exceeded an hour.
However, he claimed that when he walked in, a table was suddenly prepared and set to be ready in just five minutes.
“As always, I don’t want any special treatment. I wanna be treated like everybody else,” explained Lee. “I pay for my food like everybody else. I’m a normal person. I’m a normal customer. Things like this is exactly why I do reviews the way I do.”
In response, Burruss addressed the situation professionally, acknowledging the food vlogger’s visit while explaining the restaurant’s policies.
“I’m about to speak on it. No, I’m joking. I’m not about to speak on it,” she quipped before continuing. “I just really want to say, I do appreciate Keith Lee for stopping by our restaurant and trying to show us love. It is very unfortunate that we couldn’t serve him and his family.”
She elaborated on the restaurant’s weekend policies, stating, “On the weekends, we get a lot of community support, people in our city that show up for us, as well as a lot of people from out of town. So, with that being said, we don’t want to overwhelm our kitchen by having to, you know, have such long times for the people who are actually at the restaurant, plus having to do to-go orders.”
Ne-Yo Says His Poly Relationship Is More Than “Sex,” Also Serves As “Community” For His 7 Kids
Ne-Yo recently doubled down on how his polyamorous relationship not only satisfies his sexual appetite, but also serves as a “community” for his business endeavors and his children.
While visiting Real 92.3 LA, the R&B singer/songwriter got candid about how his seven children are well taken care of — thanks to him and his multiple girlfriends. When asked about his family dynamics, the “So Sick” crooner admitted that his lifestyle doesn’t allow him to be everywhere at once, nor spend as much time as he’d like doing small tasks for his kids. He sees the multi-relationship as a “partnership” and “community” for him and his children.
“I do partnership, not ownership,” he explained. “I don’t even want to own you. I want a parter in this situation. I don’t demand exclusivity or ask for it, nothing like that. If you offer it and I accept [then] there are rules to follow, but nothing is above a conversation as long as we’re being honest.”
Elsewhere he said, “See, people get caught up on the sexual element of it. If the only reason you’re doing it is for the sexual part if it, you’re bound to fail.” He clarified, his poly situation is a “community.”
Further detailing how him and his “team” work together when it comes to his children, he said, “Me being as busy as I am, I’m rarely home — and God bless my kids for them being understanding — but if you want your [Roblox] and your V-bucks and them Jordans, daddy gotta go to work. And while daddy’s at work, this one’s gonna cook dinner and this one is gonna make breakfast, and this one’s gonna get you ready for school…”
When asked if it gets confusing for his children, he quickly answered, “No.”
He added, “Kids understand what you explain [to them]. If I make it confusing, then it’s confusing. My kids understand that they are loved and that they are cared for and that is what matters to me.”
The Paternity claim against Jamie Foxx Has Been debunked
A calculated social media stunt targeting Jamie Foxx recently captured public attention when content creator Young Tommie falsely claimed to be the actor’s estranged son. The fabricated story, which initially gained significant traction across multiple platforms, included emotional appeals and allegations of abandonment before ultimately being exposed as a deliberate hoax designed to generate views.
The incident highlights the increasingly blurred lines between authentic personal stories and manufactured content in digital spaces, raising questions about verification standards and the responsibility of content creators in an era where viral attention often translates directly to financial opportunity.
The anatomy of a fabricated viral moment
The controversy began when Young Tommie shared a video expressing profound feelings of abandonment, claiming he had not spoken with Foxx in three years and was experiencing housing insecurity. The content creator strategically incorporated emotional elements designed to elicit sympathy from viewers while simultaneously generating outrage toward Foxx.
This approach exemplifies a troubling pattern in content creation where emotional manipulation serves as the primary driver of engagement. By positioning himself as a neglected child seeking connection with a famous parent, Tommie tapped into audience compassion while creating a compelling narrative that encouraged sharing across platforms.
Part of what made the hoax initially believable to some viewers was a perceived physical resemblance between Tommie and Foxx. Several social media commenters noted similarities in appearance, using these superficial observations as supporting evidence for the paternity claim despite the absence of any substantive proof.
This component of the controversy demonstrates how easily visual cues can override critical thinking, particularly when combined with emotional storytelling. The tendency to accept physical resemblance as confirmation of biological relationships reflects a simplistic approach to verification that favors immediate visual assessment over more rigorous fact-checking.
Swift and decisive response
The claims prompted a rapid response from Foxx’s family circle. His nephew addressed the rumors directly through social media, firmly stating that the actor did not have a son and emphasizing his own close relationship with his uncle. This denial was reinforced by Foxx himself, who briefly but definitively rejected the paternity claim.
This coordinated family response represents an increasingly necessary approach to addressing false narratives in the digital age. Rather than allowing rumors to proliferate unchallenged, immediate intervention from credible sources connected to the situation helped curtail the spread of misinformation before it could become more firmly established in public discourse.
In a subsequent revelation that confirmed suspicions held by many observers, Tommie eventually admitted that his video was deliberately created as a hoax intended to gain attention and achieve viral status. He acknowledged producing multiple similar videos with only one successfully capturing widespread attention.
This admission highlights a particularly troubling aspect of contemporary content creation culture, where fabricating personal narratives about public figures is viewed as an acceptable tactic for building audience and visibility. The creator showed little remorse for potentially damaging Foxx’s reputation or misleading viewers, instead expressing satisfaction with the attention his deception had generated.
Broader implications for information literacy
The incident serves as a case study in how quickly misinformation can spread across digital platforms before verification occurs. Despite having no substantive evidence supporting his claims, Tommie successfully generated significant engagement through emotional storytelling and strategic use of visual similarities.
This dynamic underscores the challenges facing social media users who must increasingly develop sophisticated skills for evaluating the credibility of content they encounter. The speed at which information travels often outpaces traditional verification processes, creating environments where emotionally compelling narratives can temporarily override critical assessment.
Established family relationships
Throughout this fabricated controversy, Foxx has maintained his focus on his established family relationships, particularly with his two daughters born in 1994 and 2009 respectively. The actor has long been recognized for his commitment to fatherhood, frequently appearing with his daughters at public events and speaking positively about his parenting experiences.
This consistent public record provides important context that should have immediately raised skepticism about the validity of claims from an unknown figure suddenly asserting a previously undisclosed paternity relationship. The contrast between Foxx’s demonstrated commitment to his children and the allegations of abandonment represents a discrepancy that warranted closer scrutiny from the outset.
The attention economy and verification challenges
The viral nature of this fabricated story demonstrates how the economics of digital platforms often reward sensational content regardless of its accuracy. Content creators recognize that allegations involving celebrities generate substantial engagement, creating powerful incentives for manufacturing controversial narratives even at the expense of truth.
For consumers navigating these information environments, developing stronger verification skills becomes increasingly essential. Approaching sensational claims with appropriate skepticism, seeking confirmation from reliable sources, and resisting the impulse to share unverified content represent crucial practices for responsible digital citizenship.
While this particular incident resolved relatively quickly through direct denial and eventual confession, it serves as a reminder of how vulnerable public discourse remains to deliberate manipulation. As the boundaries between authentic personal expression and calculated performance continue to blur online, the burden of verification increasingly falls on individual users to distinguish between genuine situations warranting compassion and manufactured controversies designed merely to capture attention.
Kamala Harris to decide on California governor's race by the end of summer, reports say
Former Vice President Kamala Harris will make a decision on whether she plans to run for governor of California by the end of the summer, NBC News reported.
NBC News’ Elyse Perlmutter-Gumbiner cited a source familiar with Harris’ planning. Politico first reported the timeline for Harris’ decision.
Last year, a poll by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies found that 46% of voters were either very likely or somewhat likely to support Harris for governor, versus the 42% who said they likely would not. The other 12% of voters polled were undecided. The poll was taken as voters in California were casting their ballots for the presidential election.
Several years ago, Harris opened a state campaign account for the 2026 governor’s race but then terminated it in 2018, state records show. The records show her as among 39 candidates who have filed a statement of intention to run for governor.
The list of candidates is not an official declaration of candidacy, but the statements of intention are filed before raising campaign funds.
Announced candidates in the race include, on the Democratic side, former State Senate Pro Tempore and Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins, Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis, California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former State Controller Betty Yee.
Republican candidates on the list include Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco.
Newsom will not be running for re-election because of term limits.
#RIP: DJ Funk, Ghetto House Originator, Dead at 53
DJ Funk, the Chicago producer who created and named the subgenre of ghetto house, is dead. He was 54, per The Guardian, though other sources report his birthday as June 20, 1971. DJ Slugo, a collaborator in the scene, confirmed his death on Instagram. According to a GoFundMe, Funk, born Charles Chambers, had stage 4 cancer. DJ Funk made a career in Chicago by playing sped-up versions of the house tracks born in the city, and adding dirty lyrics, during the ’90s. His 1994 EP Street Traxx II included the first use of the name “ghetto house.” His 1999 album Booty House Anthems later sold 1 million copies in the U.S., as he became known for tracks like “Pump It” and “Work Dat Body.” Funk later founded his own label, Funk Records, in 2006, and was instrumental in the revival of ghetto-house label Dance Mania in 2013.
Ghetto house went on to influence high-speed juke and footwork music in Chicago in the late ’90s as well. But Funk’s influence extended to the top of electronic dance music. He was one of the producers named on Daft Punk’s 1997 track “Teachers,” and Justice tapped him for a remix in 2013.
CBS’ Beyond the Gates Draws 78% Bigger Audience Than The Talk
Beyond the Gates has CBS Daytime fans in a lather.The first new daytime drama to hit our screens in 25 years is thus far averaging 2.28 million total viewers (with Live+3 playback), an improvement of 78% on what time slot predecessor The Talk averaged in 2024.
Playing a role in that gain is the fact that the three-day streaming numbers for Beyond the Gates are up 7,411% from The Talk‘s.
Beyond the Gates enjoys a 13.6% gain in viewers with Live+3 playback, stronger than both CBS’ The Young and the Restless (10.9%) and The Bold and the Beautiful (12.6%).
The linear-only audience for Beyond the Gates‘ opening week was virtually tied with that of ABC’s General Hospital (2.02 million), while drawing a higher rating with the 25-54 target audience.
CBS notes that the Beyond the Gates audience is comprised of 55% Black viewers, higher than Y&R (29%), B&B (30%) and GH (22%).
The Live+7 audience for Beyond the Gates‘ series premiere stands at a full 3 million viewers, slightly higher than the previous soap opera launch, NBC’s Passions, which drew 2.96 million in the more “live watching”-y era of July 1999. And Beyond the Gates‘ premiere mustered an audience share of 9 compared to Passions‘ 7, meaning it nabbed a larger portion of people watching TV.
Kansas City Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Arrested For Alleged Domestic Violence
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested in Georgetown, Texas. The 21-year-old NFL player was taken into custody on the night of March 7 by officers at the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.
His charge involves "impeding the normal breathing or blood circulation" of a family or household member, which under Texas law is defined as applying pressure to the person's throat, neck, or obstructing their mouth or nose.
Worthy's attorneys, Sam Bassett and Chip Lewis, argue that the allegations are unfounded. They claim that Worthy had asked the complainant to leave his residence following the discovery of her infidelity, which she refused to do. The attorneys also allege that the complainant engaged in extortion tactics and caused property damage.
"The complainant further destroyed a room in the residence, scratched Mr. Worthy's face and ripped out parts of his hair, which there is photographic evidence of. Worthy told law enforcement at the time of the incident he did not want to press charges against the complainant," the attorneys said in a statement.
Worthy remains in Williamson County jail without bail and is expected to appear before a judge soon. If convicted, he faces two to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL have acknowledged awareness of the situation. A Chiefs spokesperson stated, "We are aware and gathering information," while the NFL noted that they have been in contact with the team.
Drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Worthy had a promising rookie season with the Chiefs. He set records at the NFL combine and became one of the team's standout players, leading wide receivers in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns during the regular season. He also made significant contributions in the playoffs, including an impressive performance in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Karla Sofia Gascon Considered 'The Unthinkable' Amid Backlash Over Racist Tweets
Karla Sofia Gascon, the first openly transgender person nominated for an Academy Award in an acting category, has opened up about the intense scrutiny and backlash she faced during her campaign for the Best Actress Oscar. Gascon's journey was marred by controversy over resurfaced social media posts.
"Amid this unexpected, devastating storm, there have been moments when the pain has been so overwhelming that I contemplated the unthinkable," Gascon said in a new statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I harbored darker thoughts than those I considered in some of my previous, no less intimate and personal struggles," she reflected on being the receiving end of hate after spewing racist messages against Black people, Asian, and Muslim on social media.
She apparently didn't like getting a taste of her own medicine, "I asked myself: if I, with all my strength and preparedness to deal with rage and rejection, am on the edge, what would have become of someone with fewer emotional resources to resist this onslaught? Somehow, I made it. Others would not have survived this brutal winter I am about to wrap up."
"Fortunately, I have kept my one inch of sanity to see the light at the end of this tunnel of hate and understand that I must be and do better, and correct my past faults, without engaging in more darkness," she said.
Gascon also took the opportunity to apologize to those she might have offended in the past and promised to continue learning and listening to avoid making the same mistakes.
"Only through understanding, compassion, forgiveness, and empathy can we build a world where difference is not synonymous with condemnation, but with richness. A world where we can learn and grow as we go. A world where we can all put our shields aside and be ourselves," she concluded.
John Goodman Injures Hip, Tom Cruise Movie Halts Production
Filming for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s latest film starring Tom Cruise and John Goodman has been delayed after the latter sustained an apparent hip injury.
“Actor John Goodman experienced a hip injury,” Warner Bros. told the TheWrap. “He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover. The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”
The untitled movie was set to be released on October 2, 2026. The film will follow “the most powerful man in the world” who is set to take on a mission to prove that he is the person who will save humanity. Iñárritu co-wrote the film alongside Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone. Its producers include Iñárritu, Cruise and Mary Parent.
Cruise and Goodman star in the movie alongside Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde and Riz Ahmed.
The movie is also Cruise’s first since signing a development deal with the studio in January 2024. At the time, a source familiar with the details said the deal is a “strategic partnership” between the studio and the actor.
“I have great respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire team at Warner Bros. Discovery and their commitment to movies, movie fans, and the theatrical experience. I look forward to making great movies together!” Cruise said in an official statement.
DDG Accuses Ex Halle Bailey of Not Letting Him See Their Son
DDG is making a big accusation against ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey. On March 7), the 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, publicly accused the 24-year-old actress and singer of not letting him see their 14-month son Halo.
“Been fighting to see my son for months now,” DDG wrote in a since-deleted post on X.
“Shout out to all the Dads who try their best to be there,” he continued. “This s–t sucks.”
Shortly after deleting the post, DDG hopped on a live stream to explain that he’s been trying to keep the alleged situation out of the spotlight, but has become frustrated and needed to vent.
“I really feel like I’m a f–king nanny at this point,” DDG said, via TMZ. “The nanny has been able to have my son more than me. And I don’t even know the nanny name. Like, it’s just not fair bro. So I have to come on here and I gotta do this s–t.”
DDG went on to say that he’s considering taking Halle to court, adding that he’s been keeping track of the days that go by without seeing his son.
He also noted that he and Halle are not on “perfect terms,” alleging that she uses co-parenting as a weapon.
DDG‘s comments come after Halle shared an adorable video of Halo recognizing her while watching her movie The Little Mermaid.
If you didn’t know, Halle and DDG dated for more than two years before splitting in October 2024, less than a year after welcoming Halo.
Mom Doesn’t Know When to Stop
We don’t know if it was her kids or her husband that had enough, but this woman definitely got on somebody’s nerves.
