#FASHIONFAB: American Eagle x Tru Kolors by Travis Kelce Collection

A Note from Travis “I believe the best way to live is with authenticity, joy, and optimism, and that’s what Tru Kolors has stood for from the start.
Together with American Eagle, we designed a collection that captures that energy. Every detail of AE x TK was made with intention; a reminder to play hard, dream big, and enjoy the journey.
I’m inspired by where I come from and the people around me. That’s why we chose six incredible athletes – Anna, Azzi, Drew, Kiyan, Suni, and Jeremiah – who stay true to themselves while changing the game. They perfectly represent this collaboration.
I’m excited to share the first American Eagle x Tru Kolors collection.”

#RHOA: Pinky Cole Hayes to Join ‘Real Housewives’ Cast
‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ taps Slutty Vegan’s Pinky Cole Hayes for its upcoming season, just as the entrepreneur’s wildly popular vegan burger chain opens its first Tampa Bay location.
Slutty Vegan founder Pinky Cole Hayes is reportedly stepping into the spotlight as the newest cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. According to Media Take Out, Cole Hayes, along with K. Michelle, is currently being tested as “friends of the show” for the upcoming season, following the departure of Brit Eady and Kenya Moore. Bravo has not yet confirmed the shake-up, but filming is slated to begin later this summer.

The news marks a high-profile crossover for Cole Hayes, who has turned her Slutty Vegan empire into one of the most recognizable brands in the plant-based dining scene. Alongside K. Michelle—known for her powerful vocals and unfiltered presence on Love & Hip Hop—Cole Hayes brings an entrepreneurial force to the franchise that insiders say is reinvigorating the energy on set. “One thing’s for sure: with K. Michelle’s no-nonsense attitude and Pinky Cole [Hayes’] business boss energy, the new season is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about yet,” Media Take Out reported.

The Bravo news comes on the heels of Slutty Vegan’s latest grand opening in Brandon, FL, located just outside Tampa. Cole Hayes’ fast-growing burger chain debuted its newest location at 2080 Badlands Drive, drawing local influencers and a wave of Instagram buzz. For fans in the region, it’s a long-awaited addition to the national plant-based food scene, one that brings Slutty Vegan’s playful, unapologetic menu to a wider audience.

Now, as Cole Hayes enters the world of Real Housewives, her influence is poised to reach an even broader audience. While the Bravo show has featured entrepreneurs in the past, few have brought with them an empire as culturally resonant or values-driven as Cole Hayes’. As her influence expands from food trucks to food television, the plant-based world is watching. And if Bravo viewers weren’t already familiar with Slutty Vegan, they’re about to be served.

The track, a fusion of country and soul, has captivated audiences with its infectious energy and line-dance craze. Released on December 20, 2024, the original song topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay and R&B Digital Song Sales charts. #HipHopNews: Drake Crowned Billboard’s No. 1 R&B/Hip Hop Artist Of The 21st Century
Drake leads Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Artists of the 21st Century list with 30 No. 1 songs and 15 No. 1 albums.
Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Lil Wayne are some of the other stars who made the list.
The ranking reflects how streaming and cultural shifts have redefined chart success in Hip Hop and R&B.

From 2000 through 2024, Drake has been Billboard’s No. 1 R&B/Hip Hop artist. The 6 God sits atop a Top 10 list that includes JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and more music icons who have kept their grip on the charts for a quarter century.
Per Billboard, the list is determined by the performance of the artists on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs charts beginning January 2000 through December 2024. Despite having a relatively late start in 2009 compared to some of his competition, Drake still came out on top.

The Boy’s chart performance was bolstered by not only his own intensive release schedule but also his plentiful features with other artists. The result was 30 No. 1 hits on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart and 15 No. 1s on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. That’s gives the “God’s Plan” rapper the most No. 1 hits in the history of both charts.
Equally impressive is who Drake ranked ahead of. The No. 2 position is held down by Beyoncé, whose post-Destiny’s Child solo career launched with her No. 1 hit “Crazy In Love,” featuring her now-husband JAY-Z, back in 2003. Queen Bey boasts an impressive eight No. 1s on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and 10 No. 1s on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.

After The Weeknd at No. 3, Chris Brown at No. 4 and Usher at No. 5, the next highest rapper on the list is Lil Wayne at No. 6. Weezy is just ahead of JAY-Z thanks to 35 projects charting on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums list, including mixtapes, collaborative albums, and his Tha Carter titles.
The rest of the list is rounded out by Rihanna, Eminem and Alicia Keys at No. 8, No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

1000-lb Sisters Star Katie Slaton Dead at 37

Katie Slaton, who often made appearances on TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters, has sadly passed away at the age of 37 after a battle with cancer. She featured on the show often, most notably during the fifth season, alongside her cousins, Tammy and Amy Slaton. Amanda Halterman, Tammy and Amy’s sister, announced this tragic news recently on social media.

Katie Slaton, who featured in 1000-lb Sisters, died after losing cancer battle
Katie Slaton was most notably a part of 1000-lb Sisters, which remains a popular television show. She was not the primary focus of the series, but often made appearances alongside Tammy and Amy, her cousins.

Amanda Halterman shared the heartbreaking news of Katie’s passing on Instagram. Alongside a picture of her with Katie, she wrote, “It [is] with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this. My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday. She was a force to be reckoned with and showed love that was accepting and given freely.”

Halterman continued, “She was the life of the part and my best friend. I know both our grandparents and friends was there to welcome you home.” She further wrote, “Please pray for my aunt uncle and cousins but mostly for the babies and for Natalie to be strong. Please pray for everyone whom loves her. Thank you all who has come out and supported her.”
Katie’s obituary page further confirmed that she breathed her last on August 25, at Indiana’s Linda White Hospice House. Her funeral service is held on August 29, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield.

Earlier this year, Katie was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma. She had been undergoing chemotherapy. Halterman previously posted about this, too, and asked fans to pray for her. Many have paid tribute to Katie Slaton since.

Beyoncé Finds Hater In Oddest Place—Kelley Jorgensen from ”Big Brother”

Kelley Jorgensen might have thought she was just talking to a fellow houseguest, but the cameras on CBS’ Big Brother never stop rolling. Now she’s dealing with a different type of reality. This wave of criticism about Beyoncé resurfaced online nearly a month after she made them. Here we go…

During a “casual” conversation inside the house, Kelley Jorgensen, who happens to be a white contestant, admitted she was “scared” of Beyoncé. What? Later, she doubled down by saying she didn’t like the superstar at all. OK. The statements didn’t get much attention when she first made them, but clips have since gone viral. Now, the world is slowly, but surely catching up to what die-hard fans saw.
Jorgensen made the comments in front of one of the show’s two Black female contestants, Ashley. And, she immediately realized she might have crossed a line. Cameras captured her saying she thought she “messed up” by even bringing it up. Foreshadowing, anybody?

The BeyHive hasn’t taken kindly to Jorgensen’s word, but they are not fully buzzing yet. Some critics are brushing off the controversy as reality-show drama. Fair enough. others are openly questioning Jorgensen’s motives and mindset. Is she just being careless? Is it ignorance? Or something deeper?

Inside the Big Brother house, the fallout could add another layer of strategy to the game. Contestants are already plotting against one another, and Jorgensen may find herself an easy target for elimination! They turn on each other every day so you never know. However, if Ashley or Mickey are BeyHivers…she has a major issue.
As with all Big Brother storylines, the real test comes after eviction. Jorgensen may eventually leave the house and face the…music.

Mariah Carey Confesses Tupac Shakur Gave Her Butterflies—Wishes They Dated
Mariah Carey took a stroll down memory lane when she opened up about a moment with Tupac Shakur that left her swooning and wondering what could’ve been.
The superstar songstress revealed during a Power 106 interview that the late rapper gave her “more than butterflies” after a brief but unforgettable exchange backstage at the American Music Awards in January 1996.

“It was a pretty major moment for me to say the least,” Carey said, recalling the way Tupac greeted her that night.
“Hi Mariah,” he said, and according to Carey, it sent her into a state of internal frenzy.
The pop icon didn’t stop there. When asked if she ever wished they had dated, Carey didn’t hesitate.
“I wishhh!!!” she said with a laugh, agreeing they would have been “the power couple of all power couples.”

Carey also said she would have jumped at the chance to collaborate with him musically.
Carey first shared the story in her 2020 memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, where she described the surreal moment she encountered Tupac outside the venue. “I noticed a white Rolls-Royce quietly, slowly approaching,” she wrote. “It was as if time itself had slowed to a stop.”

She continued, ” ‘Hey, Mariah,’ he said softly, my name pouring out of his lips like smoke. Then that spectacular smile burst through everything. In an instant, the window went back up, and Tupac rolled away.”
That brief encounter would be one of their last. Tupac was shot in a drive-by in Las Vegas in September 1996. After undergoing emergency surgery, including the removal of a lung, he died six days later on Friday (September 13) at University Medical Center. He was 25.

Mary J. Blige’s Lawyers File Motion To Move Misa Hylton’s $5M Lawsuit To Special Court

The legal feud between R&B icon Mary J. Blige and celebrated fashion stylist Misa Hylton is intensifying, with Blige now seeking to shift the multi-million dollar lawsuit against her into a more specialized court.
According to AllHipHop, Blige and her company, Beautiful Life Productions, are formally requesting that a $5 million lawsuit filed by Hylton and Harlem rapper Vado be moved to the New York Supreme Court’s Commercial Division.

The dispute stems from Hylton’s allegation that Blige interfered with a contractual management agreement between her company, M.I.S.A. Management, and rapper Vado.

Among the claims are accusations that Blige has deliberately withheld Vado’s completed studio album and that her bodyguard—also reportedly her boyfriend—attempted to pressure the rapper into signing new contractual papers without the benefit of legal counsel.
Blige’s legal team has filed a request with Judge Suzanne J. Adams, arguing that the case qualifies for the Commercial Division based on its financial scale and the contractual nature of the dispute.

According to court documents, her attorneys insist the case “meets the $500,000 threshold” required and raises jurisdictional questions about whether New York or California law should apply.
Blige has also moved to dismiss the lawsuit entirely, calling it “meritless.” Her legal filing further disputes the legitimacy of Hylton’s management company, arguing that “M.I.S.A. Management isn’t a valid legal entity” and pointing out that Blige herself “never personally signed the disputed contract in question.”

Initially, a court clerk categorized the case as “Commercial – Contract,” but later ruled it did not meet the criteria for inclusion in the Commercial Division.
Blige’s legal team is now challenging that ruling in hopes of having the case transferred, where it would be overseen by judges specializing in complex business and contract litigation. Judge Adams has yet to issue a decision on the matter.

The ongoing battle has drawn increased attention given the high-profile names involved, as Blige and Hylton were longtime friends prior to their falling out as a result of their legal dispute.
Hylton, a pioneer in Hip-Hop fashion and longtime cultural tastemaker, is accusing Blige—often dubbed the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul”—of underhanded business practices that sabotaged Vado’s career trajectory and her professional relationship with the rapper.

As the case develops, all eyes are on Judge Adams’ next move, which could determine whether this star-studded legal clash plays out in a standard civil courtroom or under the more business-savvy scrutiny of the Commercial Division.

Funky Dineva and Tamar Braxton End Feud After PR Stunt Claims: “I Just Want Peace”
Funky Dineva and Tamar Braxton have officially buried the hatchet after he accused her of using him in a PR stunt.
It all began when Tamar took to social media days ago, claiming she almost died. According to the singer, she woke up in a pool of blood with missing teeth and a serious facial injury. She said her condition worsened, but did not share what caused it.

Funky Dineva was caught in the fallout when video of the two surfaced from his birthday celebration shortly before Tamar posted about her health scare. Fans speculated he was involved, resulting in harsh criticism.
Things intensified when Tamar dropped a trailer for a new music video and film featuring “Love & Hip Hop” star Mendecees. Some, including Funky Dineva, accused her of staging the ordeal for attention.

“I got ate up alive over my birthday weekend, and the whole while there was nothing wrong with Tamar’s a**,” he wrote on Instagram. “Now she done released this tired a** music video for this raggedy EP that don’t nobody want…I was collateral damage.”
But the tension has since eased. Tamar addressed the situation, writing on Instagram, “No matter what he says, I love @msfunkydineva anyway… I just want peace.”

Funky Dineva reposted her message and added, “This all I ever wanted. It was the principle of the whole situation.”
The two now seem to have put the drama behind them. It remains unknown what happened to Tamar.

'The Original Spinderella' Salt-N-Pepa's Trying To Block Me From Rock Hall of Fame
Ooh, baby, baby ... Salt-N-Pepa's upcoming induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for musical influence is missing an RSVP ... according to the group's original DJ Spinderella!!!
TMZ Hip Hop spoke to Latoya Hanson, who was a founding member of SNP all the way up to the release of the trio's 1986 debut album, "Hot, Cool & Vicious" ... you can see her on the cover art!!!
Latoya tells us no one from SNP contacted her about the ceremony going down -- not surprising on her part because she says it's the type of sneakiness from Cheryl "Salt" James that got her booted from the group!!!

Latoya claims Salt -- not Pepa, not Deidra Roper -- was the evil genius who hated on her shine back in the day. OG Spinderella was on hand for the recording of their early singles "Push It" and "Tramp" ... but she says she was HOT when the videos dropped and then was M-I-A!!!
She also has issues with how she was depicted in the group's 2021 Lifetime biopic, a feature film that the replacement Spinderella also voiced her frustrations about.

Salt-N-Pepa are currently fighting their own battles with a lawsuit against Universal Music Group for unpaid royalties ... Latoya says that's rich coming from Salt.
Latoya notes that the group's famed producer, Hurby "Luv Bug" Azor, and his publishing company, own the rights, lyrics and music -- not SNP.
Latoya also claims Salt lacked the vision and musical expertise to realize "Push It" was a hit straight out the gate. The track made SNP the first female rap group to go Platinum!!!
It's been many, many years since Latoya says she's spoken to Salt or Pep, but says Hurby assured her everything will be in order for her to present at the festivities.

If the Rock Hall didn't know about the behind-the-scenes pettiness -- they do now.
No hard feelings, Salt ... Latoya says she'll still sit next to you!!!

Jelena Ostapenko lashes out like a SORE LOSER at Taylor Townsend after US Open loss
“This is the type of day you all live for,” Taylor Townsend told the media as she sat down for her post-match press conference at the 2025 US Open.
Townsend had just clinched a 7-5, 6-1 win over Jelena Ostapenko that devolved into near-bedlam as the No. 25 seeded-Ostapenko lashed out at her victorious opponent at net, accusing her of having “no class and no education,” drawing boos from the Court 11 crowd.

“It’s competition. People get upset when they lose,” Townsend said on court immediately after the match.
I chalk it up to being upset and, you know, she pulled out all the stops to try and break the momentum. Sometimes people do that, but it is what it is. Still, there's no beef. But again, like you guys saw, I didn't back down because you're not going to insult me, especially after I carried myself a certain type of way with nothing but respect. If I show respect to you, I expect respect as well. That's just the fact of the matter.

“I didn't back down because you're not going to insult me, especially after I carried myself a certain type of way with nothing but respect,” she added in press. “If I show respect to you, I expect respect as well. That's just the fact of the matter.
“I think that that's tennis, right? You know no matter what's going on, it's me versus you, but at the end of the day we have to respect each other and respect what happens out on the court. It's competition.
“So, you know, it was unfortunate, but…it's something I can put on my TikTok!”

Ostapenko wrote a statement after the match on her Instagram stories, later posting an update to deny allegations that her outburst had racist undertones. (IG/@jelena.ostapenko).
By the time Townsend had taken the podium for her press conference Ostapenko, who had not been requested by the media in the event that she lost her second round, posted a statement to social media accusing Townsend of being “very disrespectful as she had a net ball in a very deciding moment and didn’t say sorry.

“There are some rules in tennis which most of the players follow and it was the first time ever that this happened to me on tour.”
Ostapenko, who later denied the outburst had racist understones on her Instagram stories, further accused Townsend of breaking a rule by to start their pre-match warm-up at the net, something Townsend said she does before every match.

“You know, this isn't the first, second, third, fourth time I've played Jelena, so if she's complaining about how I warm up, that's fine,” said Townsend. “You can go back to the time that I played my first-ever pro tennis match, and I've been doing this since even juniors. It wasn't anything targeted towards her to try and take her off of her game or her rhythm. You know, I just was doing my thing.
“Honestly, laugh at it. I think it's comical. I think that it's kind of funny, because to then go online and have to justify what you said, you obviously feel some type of way and feel like you have to give an explanation for how you acted. I don't feel like I have to explain how I acted. I think it was very self-explanatory. I'm standing in what I said.”

Though she called this behavior part of Ostapenko’s “MO,” Townsend said she bore no ill will against the former French Open champion after the match, the top-ranked doubles player dismissing the suggestion that Ostapenko be barred from competing in the doubles event as a result of the incident.
The thing that I'm the most proud of is that I let my racquet talk. Because ultimately, I'm the one here sitting in front of you guys moving on to the next round, getting the next check, moving on, being able to still be here and speak to you guys, and that's what's the most important. She's packed up and she's gone. I'm here, and that's the only thing that matters.
Taylor Townsend

“I'm an Aries, so I'm a fire sign. I wore fire today. Maybe that's why I was fired up. I was ready to go,” she said with a laugh.
“Yeah, I mean, this is one of the reasons why I love sports. You know, to be able to watch the tension and watch things and to see how someone can handle themselves in the moment. You know, how they handled their emotions, how they handle ups and downs, how they handle momentum shifts, you know, things that are thrown in the mix of whether it's to try and break your rhythm, break your momentum, how do they handle it mentally?

“The thing that I'm the most proud of is that I let my racquet talk,” she added as the press conference concluded. “Because ultimately, I'm the one here sitting in front of you guys moving on to the next round, getting the next check, moving on, being able to still be here and speak to you guys, and that's what's the most important. She's packed up and she's gone. I'm here, and that's the only thing that matters.”
Into the third round of the US Open for the third time in her singles career, Townsend will next face No. 5 seed Mirra Andreeva for the chance to reach the second week.

What we know about the suspect Robin Westman in the Minneapolis Catholic school shooting
The suspect who opened fire in Minneapolis on a Catholic school during Mass has been identified by authorities as a person in her early 20s who left behind videos online with disturbing content and writings that referred to suicide.
The suspect in Wednesday's shooting was identified as Robin Westman, 23.
The suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after firing a rifle through the side windows of the Annunciation Catholic School’s church, aiming at children who were sitting in the pews, authorities said.

Two children, ages 8 and 10, are dead. Seventeen other people were injured by gunfire: 14 children ages 6 to 15 and three adults in their 80s who were parishioners in the church, officials said at in a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the shooter was “a male” born under a different first name.
The suspect's parent had filed for a legal name change to "Robin M Westman" in Dakota County in November 2019. The application was granted in January 2020, when Westman was 17, after a hearing.

The filing granting the name change said it was in the best interest of the minor child because the “minor child identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey warned against any hate being directed towards the trans community.
Anyone "using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community, or any other community out there, has lost their sense of common humanity," he said at Wednesday's news conference. "We should not be operating out of a place of hate for anyone. We should be operating from a place of love for our kids."

The suspect had no criminal history, officials said Wednesday.
In the shooting, officials recovered a rifle, shotgun and a pistol used by the suspect that were all legally purchased recently by the suspect.
Authorities believe Westman acted alone. Search warrants are being executed at the church and three residences nearby that are related to the suspect.
"Additional firearms are being recovered from those residences as we speak," said Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

O’Hara said authorities were working to determine a motive and that police were aware of a "manifesto" that the suspect had timed to be released on YouTube.
“This manifesto appeared to show him at the scene and included some disturbing writings. That content has since been taken down with the assistance of the FBI, and it now remains under active review by our investigators,” O’Hara said.
Westman wrote numerous things on the weapons and magazines featured in the video, including racial slurs, a call for President Donald Trump's death, antisemitic messages and references to the Holocaust and the Catholic Church, according to an NBC News review.

The YouTube channel also included video of the suspect flipping through the pages of a journal.
In excerpts from the journal, written using the Russian Cyrillic alphabet for English words, the suspect described her fascination with violence and obsession with mass shootings, particularly those who attacked schools. The suspect also discussed suicide, depression, her own racism and the particulars of carrying out a mass shooting.

NBC News had earlier confirmed with law enforcement officials briefed on the matter that the suspect left behind videos posted online with writings that reference suicide, "extremely violent thoughts and ideas," an apology to her family and a handwritten sketch of the interior layout of a church. It's unclear whether that church was the one at Annunciation Catholic School.

O'Hara said that he could not confirm any relationship between the suspect, the suspect's family and the church but that authorities are looking into that.
However, it appears that the suspect's mother previously worked for the Church of Annunciation.
The church had shared a Facebook post in August 2021 celebrating Westman's mother's retirement. That post was deleted later Wednesday in the wake of the shooting. It’s not clear what her role was at the church.
The city of Minneapolis said there is no active threat at this time.

Bruce Willis' Wife Emma Heming Explains Why He Lives Separately from Her & Their Kids
Bruce Willis‘ wife Emma Heming Willis is sharing an update on their living arrangements amid his battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
While speaking with Diane Sawyer for ABC’s Emma & Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey that aired on Tuesday (August 26), Emma, 47, explained why the 70-year-old Die Hard actor no longer lives in the same home as her and their two daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.
Bruce now lives in a single-story home with his round-the-clock caregivers.

“It was one of the hardest decisions that I’ve had to make so far,” Emma shared. “But I knew, first and foremost, Bruce would want that for our daughters. He would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.”
Emma went on to emphasize that she and their daughters are “there a lot” to be with Bruce.
“It’s our second home, so the girls have their things there,” Emma shared. “It is a house that is filled with love and warmth and care and laughter. It’s been beautiful to see that—to see how many of Bruce’s friends continue to show up for him. They bring in life and fun.”

While the family has been able to make these new living arrangements work, Emma admitted that that when Bruce was first diagnosed with FTD, it took a major toll on her and their kids.
“I felt like what we were going through as a family, what Bruce was going through, was so singular,” she recalled. “I was definitely worried about sleeping and just making sure our house was secure. You have to think about your stove. You have to think about your freezer, refrigerator, the doors.”
Emma also noted that loud sounds are sometimes triggering for patients with FTD, so she decided to stop having playdates and sleepovers at their home.

“I didn’t know if parents would feel comfortable leaving their child at our home,” Emma explained. “Not only was I isolated, I isolated our whole family. The girls were isolated, too, and that was by design. I was doing that. That was a hard time. That was a really hard time.”
Also in the interview, Emma shared that she has found gratitude in the small things amid Bruce‘s FTD battle.

Viola Davis’ Unapologetic Role in ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ Redefined TV Stardom

*Viola Davis transformed television with her bold portrayal of Annalise Keating in “How to Get Away with Murder,” a role she says “put me on the map.”
Speaking to PEOPLE on August 16 at The Television Academy Hall of Fame in Los Angeles, the 60-year-old Oscar winner revealed how she shaped the character to defy expectations.
“I did not follow the sort of script of what you’re supposed to do being a leading lady on television,” she said.

“I took my wig off. I took my makeup off. I stayed the size I am. I stayed as Black as I could be. And my age… Everything about me was unapologetic,” Davis added.
Her choices paid off. “Sometimes you make choices in life — it doesn’t always land. But this landed,” Davis continued.
In 2015, she became the first Black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the ABC thriller, which ran from 2014 to 2020. During her acceptance speech, she highlighted systemic barriers, stating, “The only thing that separates women of color from everyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there.”

Davis has long addressed the scarcity of meaningful roles for older Black women in entertainment.
“When it comes to Black women who are over 50, then that is when [the lack of interesting roles] is problematic,” she told PEOPLE at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, describing it as a “vast desert.” Yet, she remains hopeful, pointing to trailblazers like Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Marsai Martin.

“Women are no longer begging for a seat at the table. They’re creating their own,” she said, celebrating those who are “empowering themselves by understanding that they’re the change that they want to see.”

HUD Puts Public Housing Authorities on Notice: Share Citizenship Data or Lose Funding

HUD Puts Public Housing Authorities on Notice: Share Citizenship Data or Lose Funding
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is putting public housing authorities (PHAs) on the clock.
According to new reports, HUD sent a notice to the D.C. Housing Authority requiring them to hand over citizenship and immigration details for their tenants within 30 days. If they don’t comply, they could lose federal funding.

This isn’t stopping with D.C. HUD plans to send the same notice to more than 3,000 PHAs across the country.
At the center of the demand is Section 214 of the Housing and Community Development Act, which blocks undocumented individuals from receiving public housing assistance. HUD officials say many PHAs either failed to collect the required information or never submitted it. Now, the agency is demanding full compliance.

For families living in what HUD calls “mixed-status households”—where some members are citizens and others are not—the rule could create major disruption.
