#MAGFAB: Bowen Yang For ESQUIRE Magazine

Comedian Bowen Yang joins Jason Bateman as the cover star of Esquire’s Winter “Meaning of Life” issue, the annual event featuring wisdom and advice from a variety of interesting people. After seven seasons at SNL, the comedian has racked up Emmys, built a thriving podcast, and landed roles in major feature films. And yet, Yang says, he’s transforming into someone else entirely.
On his role models: “My role models when I was a kid—it was Conan, and it was Letterman, and it was Tina and Amy. There’s no one like Tina Fey. She’s my number one.”

On SNL: “Most of my time on the show, I never thought of myself as a star, even after the Emmy nominations, because my point of origin at SNL was this national story on cancel culture. Lorne Michaels said to me, ‘The last thing I want you to do is be the poster child for racial harmony.’ It was a wonderful thing to impart on me, but I think I also took that too far. I took that as permission to stand at the proscenium of the action when I should have run into it. It’s taken me a long time to stand in the light of it all. I’m glad I’ve gotten there.”
On his JD Vance impression: “The secret to my JD Vance impression is hitting that middle zone between smug and self-assured.”
On what he learned from Ariana Grande: “I’ve learned so many things from Ariana Grande. I’ve learned about overcoming things. I lost a sense of myself while we were shooting Wicked because it was just the back-to-back work of doing SNL and then going to London for Wicked and then doing SNL again and going to London. It really unmoored me. And Ari very gently brought me back to shore.”

Bowen Yang’s “What I’ve Learned,” in his own words, is on Esquire.com now and in the Winter issue, available by December 16 everywhere magazines are sold.
#RHOP: Keiarna Stewart Reacts to Stacey Rusch Kicking Tia Glover Out of Her Party
In The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10, Episode 10, Stacey Rusch officially launched her cannabis company Shayo. In doing so, Stacey made history, becoming the first Black woman in Virginia to own a cannabis line. Furthermore, she launched her company on Juneteenth, the day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
Sadly, Tia Glover chose Stacey’s special day to call attention to Stacey’s husband Thiemo seeming to change his story all the time. When she attempted to invite the couple to dinner, Thiemo told Tia that he was flying out of town that day. But Stacey later claimed he was actually flying home to Potomac on that day. Tia was confused and questioned Stacey, but the Shayo owner accused her of just trying to “fit in” with the group. After all, Gizelle Bryant did tell Tia that Stacey “lies a lot.”
As the fight escalated, Stacey kicked Tia out of her party, telling her, “Take your things, and be gone. Toodle-doo!” I think she meant to say, “Toodle-loo,” but she made me laugh…
Keiarna Stewart threw some shade at Stacey Rusch over her party attendance
On December 14, RHOP cast member Keiarna Stewart was a guest on Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen. A caller mentioned the incident when Stacey ejected Tia from the party, asking, “Did you think she deserved it?”
“I was kind of shocked that Stacey kicked her out,” ,” Keiarna admitted, “because it wasn’t that many people that showed up to support [her].” In fact, Stacey threw out a full third of her guests, as only three people showed up.
Actually, Keiarna thought Tia had been extending an “olive branch” by attending the launch. “I was a little bit shocked that Stacy did that, because [Stacey’s] been kicked out before.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.

#HipHopNews: Clipse To Join Linkin Park For 2026 European Leg Of The “From Zero World Tour”
Clipse will perform on select dates of Linkin Park’s 2026 “From Zero World Tour” in Europe.
Phantogram and Last Train are also set to join the trek, which is set to kick off in Stockholm on May 29, 2026.
The reunion follows Clipse’s Grammy nods for Let God Sort Em Out — their first in over 20 years.
Clipse is heading back on the road in 2026. On Monday (Dec. 15), the “P.O.V.” duo announced that they’ll be joining the European leg of Linkin Park’s “From Zero World Tour” starting in May.
With Phantogram and Last Train appearing on select dates, the arena run is slated to begin in Stockholm on May 29, 2026. From there, they’ll move through cities like Hamburg, Munich and Madrid, to name a few. Based on the flyer, Clipse appears to be skipping a slew of June stops, including Lyon, Lisbon and Santiago de Compostela.
“SUMMER 2026,” they captioned the announcement. Linkin Park noted that a “limited number of tickets have been released for certain shows and are available now.” Check out the flyer below.
Although Clipse supporting Linkin Park on the road might seem a little random, it’s worth noting that Pusha T has worked with the band twice before. He appeared on “Good Goodbye” alongside Stormzy on their 2017 album One More Light. Before that, the Virginia native was featured on a remix of “I’LL BE GONE.”
Of course, Clipse also has the 2026 Grammy Awards to look forward to. They’re up for Best Rap Album and the highly coveted Album of the Year for Let God Sort Em Out. Several tracks from the LP are nominated too, including “The Birds Don’t Sing” for Best Rap Song and the Kendrick Lamar-assisted “Chains & Whips” for Best Rap Performance.
Interestingly, Clipse’s five nominations are their first in over two decades. Their only previous nod came in 2003 for “Like I Love You” with Justin Timberlake. Speaking with Billboard in October, Pusha T said a Grammy Award win would be a “well-deserved full-circle moment” for them.
“The Grammys is definitely the high-water mark for musical achievement. And this is what you do it for,” Malice said. “So, it would definitely mean a lot, for sure.”
Trump's Distatsteful comments on Rob Reiner's murder spark rare Republican pushback

Rob Reiner's son booked on suspicion of murderDirector Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, according to the family, and the couple's son, Nick Reiner, is now in custody.
President Donald Trump lashed out at Hollywood actor and director Rob Reiner after he and his wife were stabbed to death in their home, sparking pushback from several Republican lawmakers.
Trump wrote in a social media post on Monday morning that Reiner's death was "reportedly due to the anger he caused by others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction … known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME."
Trump called Reiner "a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star."
Reiner, who is known for his Hollywood hits like "The Princess Bride" and "A Few Good Men," has been an outspoken critic of Trump. During an interview with MS NOW in October, he said that "our Democracy is being taken away from us" under the current administration.
Watch the ABC News Special, "The Rob Reiner Story: A Hollywood Tragedy," on ABC at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT, Tuesday, and streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
The couple’s son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The son was taken into custody on Sunday night and is being held without bail, but had yet to be formally charged, according to authorities.
Trump doubled down on his comments later Monday in the Oval Office when asked if he stood by his social media post.
"Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned," Trump said of Reiner.
"He became like a deranged person. Trump derangement syndrome. So, I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape or form. I thought he was very bad for our country," Trump added.
Trump's social media post prompted rare backlash from several Republican lawmakers.
New York Rep. Mike Lawler, a GOP moderate, called the entirety of the president’s post "wrong."
"Regardless of one’s political views, no one should be subjected to violence, let alone at the hands of their own son. It’s a horrible tragedy that should engender sympathy and compassion from everyone in our country, period," he said in a post on X.
Kentucky GOP Rep. Thomas Massie called the post "inappropriate."
"Regardless of how you felt about Rob Reiner, this is inappropriate and disrespectful discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered," Massie said in a post on X. "I guess my elected GOP colleagues, the VP, and White House staff will just ignore it because they’re afraid? I challenge anyone to defend it."
Former Trump ally, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, said the death of Reiner and his wife is a "tragedy" and that their "remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak."
"This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies," Greene wrote on X.
When asked about Trump's post, Speaker Mike Johnson did not directly criticize the president but offered prayers to the Reiner family.
Johnson said the murders is "not only an unspeakable family tragedy" but a "reminder of the senseless violence and evil that is so rampant in our society."
"At this time, my thoughts go to Scripture," he added.

Tyler Perry Jurisdiction Motion Has Been Granted
Back in June former 'Tyler Perry's The Oval' cast member Derrick Dixon filed a workplace sixual harassment lawsuit against Tyler Perry claiming he was pressured into a relationship in order to keep his job
Now Derrick's lawsuit has taken a hit...According to Pam Esquire the Law Intellect on Youtube, Tyler Perry's motion to switch the lawsuit jurisdiction from California to Georgia has been granted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5vacdH3pF0
What that means for Derrick is that the statute of limitations on his 2019 claims have already run out in GA.
In Georgia, the statute of limitations for workplace sixual harassment (civil) is generally 180 days from the last incident to file with the EEOC, but it's much shorter than for sixual assault, while for civil lawsuits related to sixual assault/abuse, it's typically two years
Beyoncé Talks Cowboy Carter Tour’s Inception And Impact In ‘Pollstar’ Year-End Issue

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour was a must-see concert in 2025. Her 32-show tour grossed $407.6 million and garnered over $1.6 million in ticket sales, making the Cowboy Carter Tour the highest-grossing country tour of all time. Now, after making history, Queen Bey is the cover star of Pollstar‘s 2025 “Year-End Special” issue.
In Grammy-winning artist’s sole interview about her tour, she shares how her tour came to be. “This was born from my love and respect for the rich country genre. For many years I’ve focused on preserving and celebrating the lost history of the Black cowboy,” she shared. “We showcased many aspects of my upbringing in Texas, like the salon in honor of my mother’s hair salon, I grew up in, and the saloon, honoring my great-grandfather who sold moonshine in Alabama.
“I was inspired by the Texas Lone Star, and the beautiful art town of Marfa. A fusion of futurism from RENAISSANCE with the golden maximalism from COWBOY CARTER. I tried to give the audience a contemporary Houston Rodeo experience. I also brought classic theater and opera into the space. The overall intention for this tour was to celebrate American resiliency.”
And that she did. Every bit of inspiration could be seen in every detail, from the lighting to stage props to the choreography to her many costumes and outfits.
“I believe the stage is a piece of art; it is its own icon,” she explained. “We are building a living, breathing, evolving organism. I’m extremely hands-on. I care deeply about every sound. We arrange and rearrange each song, visual edit, prop, and choreo piece until we get it to the best place we can. I push until I feel the soul in every element.”
In other parts of the cover story, Bey touches on her humble touring beginnings as a group member of Destiny’s Child, how she fine-tuned the tour as she made her nine-city trek, and what she hopes the
“The impact of the Cowboy Carter era on the country genre will only continue to grow. It has reinvigorated a space that now has a new audience,” she expressed. “And in ten years, the young girls and boys who saw the show will become adults who believe they can be respected as country stars and sing whatever music they love. That makes me proud.”
The Cowboy Carter Tour’s success has set other records. It made her the first American act to have two separate tours surpass $400 million in revenue. Her 2023 Rennaissance Tour amassed $579 million with 56 shows across 39 cities in North America and Europe. Beyoncé is also the highest-grossing Black artist and highest-grossing R&B artist in history, thanks to her 2025 tour.
I know that’s right, Bey. Read her full Q&A over at Pollstar.com.
Teyana Taylor Tells Oscar Isaac She’s in Culinary School to Become a Chef
Teyana Taylor is already known for wearing a lot of hats—singer, dancer, choreographer, actor, director—but she casually added another one to the list during a wide-ranging conversation with Oscar Isaac: aspiring chef.
While discussing her work with Paul Thomas Anderson on One Battle After Another for Variety, Taylor revealed that she’s currently enrolled in culinary school, pursuing cooking with the same intensity she brings to her creative projects.
The confession came almost offhand, but it immediately caught Isaac’s attention.
“I’m also in culinary school to become a chef,” Taylor told him, prompting an immediate reaction.
“Culinary school as well—how do you have time?” Isaac asked.
Taylor explained that cooking isn’t just another hustle—it’s grounding. She explained that the kitchen offers a rare moment of quiet amid her packed schedule. “It’s actually the thing that gives me a few [moments] to just be quiet and cook,” she said, describing food as its own form of art.
That sense of patience and process, she noted, has reshaped how she thinks creatively. Some things, as she put it, “you’ve got to let sit for three hours before you can cook it.”
Of course, culinary school hasn’t been all knives and sauté pans. Taylor admitted she was surprised by the academic side, including business classes.
“When I signed up and realized I had business classes and all other types of shit, I was like, ‘Oh, s**t, baby,’” she joked. Even then, she pushed through—doing coursework on her iPad while traveling to film premieres.
Beyond food, the conversation also touched on Taylor’s approach to acting, particularly her method of layering emotion into her characters. She described visualizing feelings as colors, allowing her to shift emotional states quickly within a scene.
It’s a technique that blends her background in dance and choreography with instinctive performance. “I’m an over-communicator,” she said. “If we talk about what a scene feels like, I just do it.”
Isaac praised that fluidity, noting how her physical awareness lends gravity to her performances.
Michael B. Jordan Confirms ‘Creed’ Spinoff Series Centered On Adonis’ Daughter

The Creed universe is officially growing and this time, the story moves beyond the boxing ring we’ve come to know. Michael B. Jordan confirms that the series will expand to a spinoff centered on Adonis’ daughter.
The actor confirmed in a recent interview with Variety that Prime Video has picked up a television series centered on Amara Creed, the daughter of Adonis Creed. The project marks the first time the long-running Rocky and Creed franchise will follow a story led by a female character.
“We’re spinning off doing Adonis’s daughter, Amara’s story, the television show that’s picked up at Amazon,” the Sinners actor said. “So you’ll be seeing different parts of the Creed-verse, I like to call it. These little IPs are going to keep the universe alive without it being completely reliant on just me to push it through the finish line every time as a boxer. I’ll be adjacent.”
Amara was introduced in Creed III, played by Mila Davis-Kent, where she appeared as Adonis’ daughter and quietly became one of the film’s emotional anchors. Her character brought a different energy to the franchise, one rooted in family, communication, and resilience, rather than competition inside the ring.
While there aren’t many details yet about what the series will look like, the 38-year-old’s comments make it clear that this isn’t just a one-off idea and that more stories set in the Creed world are actively being developed. Instead of focusing solely on Adonis’ career as a fighter, the expansion allows room to explore life after legacy has already been established.
The idea of Amara as a central figure isn’t entirely new. In 2023, BOOM! Studios released Creed: The Next Round, a comic series imagining Amara as an older character working through the pressures of her family name while carving out her own future. That storyline laid early groundwork for a longer-form exploration of her character.
Michael B. Jordan also confirmed that Creed 4 remains part of the plan, though it won’t happen immediately. With his upcoming reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair slated for release in 2027, another film in the Creed franchise would likely arrive later.
In the meantime, Prime Video is continuing to invest in the Creed world. Earlier this year, the platform announced Delphi, a series set inside the iconic boxing gym associated with Apollo Creed’s legacy, further expanding the universe beyond one central character.
Snoop Dogg joins Team USA as first honorary coach for 2026 Winter Olympics
Snoop Dogg has officially joined Team USA as its first honorary coach for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
His role includes boosting morale and supporting the “Team Behind the Team” initiative.
The move builds on Snoop’s history of sports involvement, including Olympic appearances and youth mentorship.
Leave it to Snoop Dogg to turn the road to the Winter Games into a cultural moment Team USA didn’t know it needed. On Wednesday (Dec. 10), the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee revealed that the rapper officially joined the organization as its first-ever honorary coach, bringing his signature humor, heart, and steady support to athletes headed to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
The appointment feels like a natural next step after the rapper became one of the standout personalities of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he carried the torch and popped up throughout the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Now, he’ll help motivate Team USA athletes as they prepare for the global stage in Italy from Feb. 6 to Feb. 22.
In his new volunteer role, Snoop will work with the “Team Behind the Team,” supporting athletes beyond competition. “Team USA athletes are the real stars — I’m just here to cheer, uplift, and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” he said in a press release. “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart, and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”
USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland added that the connection was instant: “From the moment Snoop met Team USA athletes, there was an instant connection — mutual respect, genuine curiosity, and a lot of laughter.”
The Long Beach native’s long history of sports mentorship — including the Snoop Youth Football League, which has supported more than 15,000 young athletes — made the move feel even more fitting. He will also help raise awareness for the Team USA Fund and launch a Coach Snoop × Team USA collection with Fanatics, with a portion of proceeds supporting athletes.
Snoop Dogg’s expanding sports portfolio includes Swansea City ownership
As previously reported Snoop made another major sports move in July when he officially joined Swansea City as a co-owner and investor. “My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” he said at the time, calling the club’s underdog story one that “struck a chord” with him..

Lady Gaga Notches Win in Trademark Lawsuit Over 'Mayhem' Logo, Attorney Calls It a 'Total Victory'

Lady Gaga is seeing a victory in court over her Mayhem logo. The 39-year-old entertainer was sued for trademark infringement earlier this year by a surfboard company, alleging the logo for her latest era’s logo being too similar to theirs.
The company says the artwork for her latest album infringed upon their logo and they tried to stop her from using it on merch for her Mayhem Ball Tour.
However, on Monday (December 15), a judge denied the initial request from the surf company.
According to Billboard, the judge said there was little merit to the trademark infringement claims, but while this isn’t a final ruling yet, the judge’s decision “strongly indicates that he will not allow the case to make it to trial.”
“Because defendant’s use of the mark is artistically relevant and does not explicitly mislead consumers as to the source or content of the challenged work, the Lanham Act does not apply, and [plaintiff] cannot succeed on its claims for trademark infringement and false designation of origin,” Judge Fernando M. Olguin wrote.
Gaga‘s attorney, Orin Snyder, called it a “total victory.”
“It reaffirms that trademark law cannot be used to censor expressive works or chill artistic expression,” he said. “We are pleased with the court’s clear and decisive ruling.”
The attorney for Lost Surfboards, the company who filed the suit, however, says they will continue to fight.
“While we would have preferred a different outcome at this preliminary stage, we respect the court’s reasoning and look forward to continuing this process,” Keith Bremer shared with Billboard. “Our commitment to protecting the MAYHEM® trademark we’ve built over nearly four decades remains unchanged.”
Since this isn’t a final ruling, what is next for the lawsuit?
Gaga‘s attorneys now have to file a claim to dismiss the claims, and Bremer says Lost Surfboards could have an interest in the suit being settled.
“We remain open to a constructive dialogue that protects consumers from confusion while allowing artists to express themselves,” the lawyer said.
Tyra Banks’ Ice Cream Dream Turns Into $2.8M Lawsuit Over Abandoned D.C. Storefront
Tyra Banks’ ice cream company, Smize & Dream, a socially driven brand she founded to blend premium desserts with youth empowerment, is now at the center of a costly legal battle over a planned Washington, D.C. storefront.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a landlord has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $2.8 million, accusing the model and entrepreneur of abandoning a long-term lease just months after it was finalized. According to documents filed in D.C. federal court, property owner Christopher Powell says he signed a 10-year commercial lease in April 2024.
The agreement named Tyra Banks, her ice cream brand Smize & Dream, her nonprofit School of SMiZE, and business partner Louis Martin as tenants. The space was intended to serve as a flagship storefront for the brand.
Powell alleges Banks personally presented the project as a mission-driven venture rather than a simple retail shop. The lawsuit claims she described the location as a platform to provide underserved youth with education tied to science, sales, and hospitality. Powell also alleges Banks said the D.C. store would anchor a broader global expansion plan.
The filing states the property was accepted “as is” following discussions that began in March 2024. Powell claims he remained involved in ongoing conversations about design and build-out plans well into the spring. He later alleges those designs were publicly connected to a Smize & Dream location in Sydney, Australia, while progress in D.C. came to a halt.
According to the complaint, Banks and Martin vacated the property in June 2024 and stopped responding to inquiries about rent and lease responsibilities. Powell claims no rent was ever paid and says he had no warning that the agreement was in danger of collapsing.
The lawsuit further claims that weeks after leaving the property, Banks and Martin opened a Smize & Dream pop-up location nearby. Powell alleges this occurred while their lease for his building remained active and unresolved.
Powell says he received a letter in September from Banks and Martin citing alleged issues with the property. The complaint describes those claims as “untrue and irrelevant” and alleges the letter included threats of negative publicity if legal action was pursued. The filing also claims the defendants suggested any judgment could be avoided by shifting liability to a company with no assets.
Powell is seeking at least $2,831,331, along with late fees, interest, attorneys’ fees, and other costs allowed under the lease. His attorney, Arziki Adamu, said Powell “executed a valid lease” and had “no option but to sue” once the deal was allegedly abandoned.
Attorneys for Banks and Martin have not publicly addressed the lawsuit. Court records show their lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the case in November, leaving the matter for the court to decide.
How Authorities Say a New Year’s Eve Plot Took Shape

Backpacks, Bombs, and a Countdown to Midnight: How Authorities Say a New Year’s Eve Plot Took Shape
Federal officials say a New Year’s Eve bombing plot targeting multiple locations in Southern California was stopped with the arrest of four people authorities allege were preparing coordinated attacks.
According to ABC 7, Audrey Carroll, Zachary Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai were taken into custody last week in Lucerne Valley, a remote desert area near Twentynine Palms. Prosecutors say the four are affiliated with the Turtle Island Liberation Front, an anti-government and anti-capitalist group. All are from the Los Angeles area and are charged with conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device.
At a Monday press conference, First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said investigators expect to file additional charges. Authorities also confirmed they believe other members of the group exist, but say those arrested were the individuals directly involved in the alleged bombing plan.
Court records state the investigation escalated after Carroll allegedly shared a handwritten document with an FBI confidential human source in November. The document, titled “Operation Midnight Sun,” described a plan to deploy backpacks containing improvised explosive devices at five locations, timed to detonate simultaneously at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
“These bombs were to blow up at the same time at midnight this New Year’s Eve,” said FBI Assistant Director in Charge Akil Davis. “The plan stated that the IEDs would be complex pipe bombs and included instructions on how to manufacture the bombs and contain guidance on how to avoid leaving evidence behind that can be traced back.”
Investigators say they later monitored the group at a desert campsite where bomb components were allegedly assembled under a tent meant to shield materials from the sun. Items recovered included PVC pipes, suspected potassium nitrate, sulfur powder, charcoal, and fuse materials.
Authorities also allege the group used a Signal chat called “Order of the Black Lotus” to coordinate their actions. During a search of Carroll’s home, agents reportedly found posters tied to the group, including ones reading “DEATH TO ICE” and “DEATH TO AMERICA, LONG LIVE TURTLE ISLAND & PALESTINE.”

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL!!!
