#RHOA: Kenya Moore Says 'Legal' Reasons Are Blocking Her Return To Bravo
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore says she won't be part of Bravo's plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the legendary franchise due to "legal" reasons.
According to previous reports from The Blast, iconic Housewives of the past are currently filming "Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip," including NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams.

Kenya Moore, however, didn't receive an invite from the network to take part in the spin-off series, a decision that could stem from a former "RHOA" cast member suing the network, alleging sexual harassment, defamation, and a hostile work environment.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, Moore, who joined "RHOA" during season 5 in November 2012, responded to a fan who asked whether they'd see her on the upcoming spin-off series celebrating 20 years of "Real Housewives."
"At this moment, no," she said, citing "legal" stuff. "It has nothing to do with whether they thought I was a legendary Housewife or not."

"Yeah, that's a whole different legal thing that I think the powers that be are weighing out right now," she added.
While it's unclear exactly what the "legal" issues surrounding Moore are, the reality TV veteran was embroiled in a messy situation that led to her being removed from the full-time cast of season 16 of "RHOA" mid-production.
According to previous reports from The Blast, Moore was disciplined by Bravo producers after the mother of one showed compromising pictures of former "RHOA" cast member Brit Eady at an event that was being filmed.

Months later, Eady filed a lawsuit against Bravo, NBC, and production companies for "Real Housewives of Atlanta," alleging defamation, emotional distress, sexual harassment, and a hostile work environment, according to PEOPLE.
"Defendants willfully, intentionally, recklessly, and/or with gross negligence produced, edited, and aired an episode of RHOA on April 6, 2025, that included footage of certain of the cast member’s statements at issue as well as commentary from other cast members that described the photographs displayed," the lawsuit read.

Although Moore won't be part of the upcoming "Ultimate Girls Trip" spin-off, over 60 other Housewives will make appearances when the principal cast—comprising Porsha Williams, Vicki Gunvalson, Teresa Giudice, Kyle Richards, Lisa Barlow, Gizelle Bryant, and LuAnn de Lesseps—makes stops in major Housewives cities, including Atlanta, Beverly Hills, and the Berkshires.
Moore also broke her silence on Bravo's casting choices for "RHUGT," saying the network "missed the mark" because the principal cast features all OGs except for Atlanta's representation. According to Moore, casting OG staples like NeNe Leakes or Shereé Whitfield in place of Williams would have been the superior choice.

#HipHopNews: Kanye West Apologizes For Antisemitic Behavior
Kanye West has issued his lengthiest apology yet for his past antisemitic comments that derailed his lucrative partnership with adidas, decimated his billion-dollar net worth and damaged his legacy as a socially-outspoken hip-hop icon.
In a full-length ad titled “To Those I’ve Hurt” published in The Wall Street Journal on Monday (January 26), Ye penned a candid and heartfelt letter seeking forgiveness from fans and clarifying that he is not a Nazi.

The 48-year-old blamed his offensive behavior on his 2002 car accident, saying his actions were a result of brain injuries suffered during the crash that developed into bipolar disorder, which remained undiagnosed for decades.
“I lost touch with reality,” he wrote. “Things got worse the longer ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret … Looking back, I became detached from my true self.”

Kanye then detailed the realities of being bipolar, saying he cannot remember some “disconnected moments” during his “fractured state” and “gravitated towards the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika,” which he even printed on T-shirts and sold them through his Yeezy website.
Turning his attention to the Jewish community, Ye wrote: “I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and I am committed to accountability, treatment and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did, though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”

The G.O.O.D. Music founder also apologized to the Black community, who he referred to as “the foundation of who I am” and a group that has “held me down through all of the highs and lows and the darkest of times.”
“I am so sorry to have let you down. I love us,” he wrote.

Further detailing his mental health struggles, Ye went on to reveal that in early 2025 he fell into a “four-month-long manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life,” leaving him feeling suicidal.
After hitting “rock bottom,” his wife, Bianca Censori, encouraged him to seek help.
“As I find my new baseline and new center through an effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise, and clean living, I have newfound, much-needed clarity,” he said. “I am pouring my energy into positive, meaningful art: music, clothing, design, and other new ideas to help the world.”

However, Kanye dismissed doctors’ previous diagnoses that his reckless behavior were merely “symptoms of autism.” He also credited Reddit forums as a source of “comfort,” helping him to realize “I was not alone.”
Yeezy signed off by writing: “I’m not asking for sympathy, or a free pass, though I aspire to earn your forgiveness. I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home.”
The letter comes more than three years after Kanye West began stoking controversy with a flurry of racially offensive comments and moves, aimed mainly at Jewish people.

His antisemitism reached fever pitch during a December 2022 appearance on Alex Jones’ Infowars show where he praised Adolf Hitler and said he saw “good things” about the notorious ex-Nazi leader.
Despite the widespread backlash, which resulted in adidas terminating their hugely successful Yeezy sneaker and clothing deal, Ye did not let up and controversially released the song “Heil Hitler” in May 2025.
In a surprising U-turn later that month, the rap legend said on X (formerly Twitter) that he was “done with antisemitism” and “love[s] all people.”

The full letter can be read below.

Twenty-five years ago, I was in a car accident that broke my jaw and caused injury to the right frontal lobe of my brain. At the time, the focus was on the visible damage—the fracture, the swelling, and the immediate physical trauma. The deeper injury, the one inside my skull, went unnoticed.

Comprehensive scans were not done, neurological exams were limited, and the possibility of a frontal-lobe injury was never raised. It wasn’t properly diagnosed until 2023. That medical oversight caused serious damage to my mental health and led to my bipolar type-1 diagnosis.

Bipolar disorder comes with its own defense system. Denial. When you’re manic, you don’t think you’re sick. You think everyone else is overreacting. You feel like you’re seeing the world more clearly than ever, when in reality you’re losing your grip entirely.

Once people label you as “crazy,” you feel as if you cannot contribute anything meaningful to the world. It’s easy for people to joke and laugh it off when in fact this is a very serious debilitating disease you can die from. According to the World Health Organization and Cambridge University, people with bipolar disorder have a life expectancy that is shortened by ten to fifteen years on average, and a 2x-3x higher all-cause mortality rate than the general population. This is on par with severe heart disease, type 1 diabetes, HIV, and cancer – all lethal and fatal if left untreated.

The scariest thing about this disorder is how persuasive it is when it tells you: You don’t need help. It makes you blind, but convinced you have insight. You feel powerful, certain, unstoppable.

I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret. Some of the people I love the most, I treated the worst. You endured fear, confusion, humiliation, and the exhaustion of trying to have someone who was, at times, unrecognizable. Looking back, I became detached from my true self.

In that fractured state, I gravitated toward the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika, and even sold T-shirts bearing it. One of the difficult aspects of having bipolar type-1 are the disconnected moments – many of which I still cannot recall – that led to poor judgment and reckless behavior that oftentimes feels like an out-of-body-experience. I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.

To the black community – which held me down through all of the highs and lows and the darkest of times. The black community is, unquestionably, the foundation of who I am. I am so sorry to have let you down. I love us.
In early 2025, I fell into a four-month long manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life. As the situation became increasingly unsustainable, there were times I didn’t want to be here anymore.

Having bipolar disorder is notable state of constant mental illness. When you go into a manic episode, you are ill at that point. When you are not in an episode, you are completely ‘normal’. And that’s when the wreckage from the illness hits the hardest. Hitting rock bottom a few months ago, my wife encouraged me to finally get help.

I have found comfort in Reddit forums of all places. Different people speak of being in manic or depressive episodes of a similar nature. I read their stories and realized that I was not alone. It’s not just me who ruins their entire life once a year despite taking meds every day and being told by the so-called best doctors in the world that I am not bipolar, but merely experiencing “symptoms of autism.”

My words as a leader in my community have global impact and influence. In my mania, I lost complete sight of that.

As I find my new baseline and new center through an effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise, and clean living, I have newfound, much-needed clarity. I am pouring my energy into positive, meaningful art: music, clothing, design, and other new ideas to help the world.

I’m not asking for sympathy, or a free pass, though I aspire to earn your forgiveness. I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home.

With love,
Ye.

The ‘Blind Side’ Actor Quinton Aaron Hospitalized After Falling

Actor Quinton Aaron was hospitalized after falling in his Atlanta home, per TMZ. Aaron’s manager said that he was taken to the hospital on Jan 25 after he fell while walking up the stairs in his apartment last week. The outlet reported that the actor’s legs suddenly stopped functioning.

The Veterans Aid Network said that medical expenses are “piling up” and his family needs financial assistance for his “medical needs.”
“As he fights one of the hardest battles of his life, let’s surround him with that same love,” the group added.
A GoFundMe was created to raise funds for Aaron’s family amid his health journey and ongoing medical treatment. The page noted that he is “on life support due to a severe blood infection.” The page added that Aaron was fighting “for his life.”

In an update to TMZ, his manager confirmed that Aaron is now stable and has been communicating with his team and his family. They added that doctors weren’t sure what caused the fall as of yet, and said medics were still doing tests.
The fall comes after Aaron revealed a 200lb weight loss in October 2025. Sharing side-by-side pictures of himself on Instagram, he wrote in the caption: “I am overwhelmed and blessed to announce that I have reached another cool milestone in my life. Today, when weighing myself, I noticed that I reached the 200-pound marker.”

Aaron said he wanted to lose a further 55 pounds to reach his target weight.
The Bronx native played alongside Sandra Bullock in the 2009 film, The Blind Side. He depicted the life of ex-Super Bowl champ Michael Oher.
His journey from an impoverished childhood to a legend was long seen as one of the most inspiring stories in sports history
In 2023, Michael Oher shocked fans when he sued Leigh Anne Tuohy and her husband Sean Tuohy, alleging that rather than adopt him, the couple had actually “tricked” him into a conservatorship that gave them full control of his finances.

“The lie of Michael’s adoption is one upon which Co-Conservators Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves at the expense of their Ward, the undersigned Michael Oher,” court documents state.
Oher claimed to have never received a penny from the film adaptation of The Blind Side. The Tuohys refuted his allegation, claiming profits were shared equally between family members.
A judge dissolved their conservatorship over Oher in 2023 and a legal battle between the former NFL star and the Tuohys continues.

Netflix Announces ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Docuseries, Addressing The Controversy

Netflix has just released the trailer for a new three-part documentary series that looks at the legacy of 2000’s hit TV series “America’s Next Top Model (ANTM)”.
The upcoming docuseries “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model” is described as a ‘must-watch chronicle of America’s Next Top Model — and the chaos in front and behind the camera’.

The series will premiere on Monday, February 16th.
Across interviews with former models, judges, and Tyra Banks herself, the project pulls the curtain back on the good, the bad, and the extremely ugly sides of the famed franchise—including body shaming, beauty standards, power dynamics, and moments that have aged poorly in the era of social media accountability.

In the years since ANTM has been off air plus the rise of social media, a number of allegations have risen to the surface.  In 2022, Business Insider published an exposé about the show’s production, which former contestants called “psychological warfare.” One contestant, Eugena Washington, said she was put in a dangerous situation after walking down a wobbling runway in six-inch heels.

According to the project’s official logline, Reality Check “exposes the show’s complicated legacy and asks a provocative question: how far are we willing to go for entertainment?”
“We can’t wait for Netflix’s global audience to see what really happened behind the scenes of America’s Next Top Model and the cultural moment it created,” added executive producer Jason Beekman of Wise Child Studios. “Reality Check is a fun, fast-moving nostalgia trip that also examines real issues of gender, race, exploitation, and personal conflict. And Netflix is the ideal partner for our first documentary series, which reflects Wise Child’s focus on telling character-driven stories that are both compelling and highly entertaining.”

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Mercy’ Beats ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Reign With an $11 Million Debut
Chris Pratt’s sci-fi thriller “Mercy” collected $11.2 million in its North American debut, enough to end the five-weekend reign of James Cameron’s behemoth “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”
Though not a blockbuster result for “Mercy,” it’s an impressive tally considering the massive winter storm that’s currently blanketing a large portion of the U.S. with snow. Warnings of frigid temperatures, high winds and blizzards have been issued across 37 states, from Texas to Maine, resulting in major theater closures across the country. Unsurprisingly, this ranks as the lowest collective weekend of the year with roughly $60 million across all films, down roughly 9% from the same period in 2025.

“Mercy” was anticipated to earn $12 million over the weekend, but projections were ever-so-slightly revised down as the storm started to spread. The film didn’t perform well at the international box office (where, of course, severe weather conditions weren’t an excuse) with $11.6 million from 80 markets, bringing the global tally to $22.8 million.

Domestic moviegoers who braved the cold (or those in the lucky states who were spared from the sleet, ice and power outages) weren’t impressed by “Mercy,” which was saddled with a “B-” grade on CinemaScore exit polls. Ditto critics, as evidenced by the bleak 20% Rotten Tomatoes average. That could spell trouble for staying power for “Mercy,” which carries a $60 million production budget before factoring in global marketing expenses. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, “Mercy” takes place in the near future as a detective (Pratt) stands trial for allegedly murdering his wife. An advanced AI judge (Rebecca Ferguson) will determine his fate.

“The weekend start is also good considering the soft reception,” says David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research.

“Mercy” is the first big release of the year for Amazon MGM, which didn’t unveil much theatrically in 2025 but plans to remedy that over the next 11 months with offerings such as the Ryan Gosling-led “Project Hail Mary,” toy-inspired “Masters of the Universe” and Colleen Hoover adaptation “Verity.” That’s good news for exhibitors, who have complained about the decrease in the number of new films since the pandemic and two Hollywood labor strikes. With the decrease in volume, overall domestic revenues in 2025 fell short of the $9 billion that analysts had expected the industry to generate over 12 months.

“Avatar 3,” which had spent all of January at the No. 1 spot on domestic charts, slid to second place with $7 million over the weekend. After six weekends of release, “Fire and Ash” has earned $378 million in North America and $1.378 billion globally. Though a huge result, of course, “Avatar 3” isn’t close to reaching the box office heights of its predecessors, 2009’s “Avatar” and 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water.” Those films each remained in first place for seven consecutive weekends and ended up with $2.9 billion and $2.3 billion, respectively.

Disney’s animated juggernaut “Zootopia 2” remained at No. 3 with $5.7 million in its ninth (!) weekend of release. The animated sequel has remained a box office force since Thanksgiving with $401 million domestically and $1.744 billion globally. It remains the highest-grossing animated Hollywood film of all time, ahead of “Inside Out 2” ($1.69 billion).

Another new release, “Return to Silent Hill,” couldn’t crack the top five and debuted in the No. 7 slot with $3.2 million from 1,850 locations. That’s dramatically behind the first two films in the psychological horror series, 2006’s “Silent Hill” ($20 million debut) and 2012’s sequel “Silent Hill: Revelation” ($8 million debut). Sony released the initial film, which ended up grossing $100 million worldwide, while the now-defunct Open Road backed the follow-up, which tapped out with just $55 million. Iconic Events, the distributor of thrillers like the “Terrifier” series and “Steamboat,” are behind the third installment, which currently holds a 15% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The film has a total investment of only $3.5 million,” Cineverse chairman and CEO Chris McGurk said in a statement. “Love it or hate it, the video game fans want to see the film and talk about it, and that will continue to make it a great title for us in home entertainment.”

He added that “weather clearly was a big factor this weekend and impacted the box office significantly for everyone, hopefully the industry will get some of this missed demand back during this week and next weekend if the weather improves.”

Meanwhile, some Oscar contenders got a boost after nominations were announced on Thursday. A24’s “Marty Supreme,” which landed 9 nominations, added $3.5 million from 2,021 venues over the weekend. Those ticket sales mark a 32% decline from the prior frame, the smallest drop in the top five. The film, starring Timothee Chalamet and directed by Josh Safdie, has grossed $86.2 million in North America and more than $105 million globally.

At the No. 8 spot, Chloe Zhao’s “Hamnet” generated $2 million from 1,996 theaters in its first weekend of nationwide release. The Shakespearean drama, which scored 13 Academy Award nods, has earned $17.6 million domestically and $42 million globally after several weekends in limited release.
“Historically, films in the sweet spot of their runs in theaters have the most potential to get a coveted Oscar bounce at the box office,” says Comscore’s head of marketplace trends, Paul Dergarabedian.

Barbie Salutes Juneteenth Icon Opal Lee With Inspiring Women Doll

Barbie is honoring civil rights icon Opal Lee with a new doll in its Inspiring Women Series, celebrating her lifelong fight to make Juneteenth a nationally recognized holiday.

The Opal Lee Inspiring Women Barbie was created in her likeness at age 89, the same year she walked from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness about Juneteenth. At 89, Lee walked 2.5 miles a day to symbolize the delay in emancipation reaching Texas. Her efforts helped bring national attention to Juneteenth and played a key role in it becoming a federal holiday in 2021. In 2024, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her impact on civil rights and social justice.

The doll reflects that historic moment, dressed in a blue Unity Unlimited Opal’s Walk for Freedom T-shirt, white pants, sneakers, and glasses. Each detail was designed to honor Lee’s role as a community leader and advocate for justice.
The doll is now available for $37.80 at major retailers, the Mattel Shop, and Mattel Creations.

Lee’s passion for advocacy runs deep through personal experience. In 1939, when she was a child, her family’s home in Fort Worth was destroyed in a racially motivated attack on June 19. That experience later fueled her commitment to educating others about Juneteenth, which marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom.

“Dr. Opal Lee exemplifies the power of purpose in action,” said Nathan Baynard, Vice President and Head of Barbie. “Her lifelong commitment to community, education, and equity mirrors Barbie’s mission to inspire the next generation.”
Lee expressed her gratitude for this moment, stating, “It has been a joy to partner with Barbie on my Inspiring Women doll. I hope my story encourages the next generation to never underestimate the power of one voice. As I often say, one person can start a change, and that can change the world.”

Philadelphia Sues Federal Officials After Slavery Exhibits Are Removed From Historic President’s House
The City of Philadelphia has filed a federal lawsuit after slavery-related exhibits were removed from the President’s House site on Independence Mall—without notice or approval from the city.

According to the lawsuit, officials with the National Park Service dismantled educational panels detailing the lives of enslaved people held by George Washington at the historic residence, leaving behind only empty metal frames. The site, located at Sixth and Market Streets, once served as the nation’s first executive mansion and has included slavery-focused exhibits since opening to the public in 2010.

City leaders argue the removals violate a 2006 cooperative agreement requiring federal officials to consult Philadelphia before making changes to the site. The lawsuit calls the action “arbitrary and capricious” and seeks an injunction to restore the exhibits.
“This is an effort to whitewash American history,” said City Council President Kenyatta Johnson, adding that discomfort is not a justification for erasure.

The removals appear tied to a recent federal directive ordering agencies to review and revise historical displays to focus on “shared national values” rather than material deemed critical of the nation’s past. Critics say that language opens the door to minimizing slavery and racial violence in public history.
Community advocates pushed back forcefully. “Slavery is American history,” said Michael Coard of the Avenging the Ancestors Coalition. “You cannot tell the story of this country without it.”

The President’s House is part of Independence National Historical Park, an area expected to play a central role in the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026. Local officials say that milestone makes historical honesty more important than ever.
Federal agencies have not publicly responded to the lawsuit. For Philadelphia, the issue is simple: history doesn’t disappear just because someone tries to remove the evidence.

Actress Garcelle Beauvais Target Of 2nd Swatting Incident, Caller Claimed They Were An Armed Ex In Her Home

Law enforcement sources shared with TMZ that on Sunday night (Jan 25), officers responded to a call reporting a possible a$$ault with a de@dly weapon and sh*ts fired, with the caller saying he was the #RHOBH’s ex-boyfriend. However, once authorities made it to the scene, the caller refused to meet them outside. After a thorough search, no evidence of a crime was discovered, and it was determined that the incident was just another swatting hoax.

To make matters even scarier, the outlet reports that #Garcelle was home when police arrived, marking an extremely unsettling situation for her. She’s now staying with loved ones as she works to prevent future incidents. This marks the second time her L.A. residence has been targeted by a swatting call, the first occurring last summer.

Marvel Reportedly Meets With Aaron Pierre to Play New Black Panther

Marvel Studios may be eyeing a new Black Panther — and a rising star with both Hollywood buzz and pop-culture cachet is now in the mix. According to reports circulating online, the studio has reportedly met with actor Aaron Pierre, best known for The Underground Railroad and Netflix’s Rebel Ridge, about stepping into the iconic role for Avengers: Secret Wars.

The casting chatter, first attributed to industry scooper Daniel Richtman, suggests Marvel is quietly exploring options for a new version of the Wakandan hero ahead of the massive crossover film. While no casting has been confirmed, the report quickly sparked conversation across social media.

Pierre has been gaining attention beyond his acting résumé. The British actor also made headlines last year for his relationship with singer and actress Teyana Taylor, though the two have since allegedly split, keeping details about their breakup largely out of the public eye.

Professionally, Pierre has been steadily building momentum, earning praise for his commanding screen presence and dramatic range. His recent leading role in Rebel Ridge helped introduce him to a wider audience, fueling speculation that Marvel could be positioning him for a major franchise leap.

Marvel has not commented on the reports, and it remains unclear whether the role would involve a multiverse version of Black Panther, a future successor, or a new direction entirely. As with most Marvel projects, details are being kept tightly under wraps.

Following the passing of Chadwick Boseman, the Black Panther mantle remains one of the MCU’s most sensitive and closely watched roles — making any casting talk especially significant. If the reports are true, Avengers: Secret Wars could mark a major new chapter for the beloved hero.

DaBaby Responds To Reports He’s Headlining MAGA-Themed V-Day Event
DaBaby is hitting back at claims that he’ll be performing at a MAGA-themed Valentine’s Day event.
According to an X post made by the rapper on Saturday (Jan.24), the reports are “fake news.” DaBaby makes it clear that he does not involve himself in politics. He added,” Don’t take the bait!” Not long ago, MAGA influencer CJ Pearson shared a flyer claiming the rapper had been tapped to perform on his Instagram Story. The post quickly circulated online, leading to an onslaught of criticism toward DaBaby. Not long after the rapper’s post, Pearson deleted the flyer from his Instagram.

He’s yet to offer any comments on whether DaBaby was, in fact, set to perform or if the post was meant to be a joke. While the rumors turned out to be untrue, DaBaby isn’t the only rapper who has faced criticism for alleged ties to the MAGA movement; Snoop Dogg and Nelly have also come under fire for performing events for the Trump administration.

Legendary Reggae Drummer Sly Dunbar Dies at 73
Sly Dunbar, the iconic reggae drummer, has died at the age of 73. Dunbar’s wife, Thelma, confirmed the news to the Jamaica Gleaner.
“About 7 o’clock this morning, I went to wake him up, and he wasn’t responding. I called the doctor, and that was the news,” she told the outlet.

Dunbar has been dealing with health problems for a while, for which he was receiving treatment.
“Yesterday was such a good day for him,” Thelma said. “He had friends over to visit, and we all had such a good time. He ate well yesterday… sometimes he’s not into food. I knew he was sick, but I didn’t realize it was this serious.”

Sly began making music at 15, first with the band The Yardbrooms. He later became a household name as one half of Sly and Robbie, alongside bassist Robbie Shakespeare; the pair were known for shaping the modern sound of reggae and dancehall, and putting reggae on the map.

In 1980, the duo created Taxi Records, ultimately launching the careers of Beenie Man, Black Uhuru, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Ini Kamoze, and Red Dragon. Sly and Robbie also played with many major acts, including Bob Dylan, Grace Jones, Herbie Hancock, Joe Cocker, Serge Gainsbourg, and the Rolling Stones. Sadly, Robbie passed away in 2021.

Over the span of his almost-60-year career, Dunbar earned 13 Grammy nominations and landed two wins, the first in 1985 for best reggae recording, and the second in 1999 for the best reggae album.

RIP.

Pat McGrath Labs Files For Bankruptcy: Iconic Beauty Empire Works to Restructure $100 Million Debt

The beauty industry is processing a major shock today as Pat McGrath Labs, once the gold standard for luxury cosmetics, has officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Documents filed on January 22 in the Southern District of Florida reveal that the brand is seeking court-supervised restructuring to address a massive debt load. With estimated liabilities sitting between $50 million and $100 million, the move marks a dramatic turning point for a company that was once valued at more than $1 billion.

According to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), the filing has also brought an immediate halt to the company’s previous plans. A highly anticipated asset sale that was scheduled for tomorrow, January 27, has been abruptly canceled. Representatives for the brand noted that the sale is postponed indefinitely while the business works to clean up its balance sheet under the safety of bankruptcy laws. Despite the legal filings, the company intends to keep its doors open and continue normal operations during this period.

Financial documents provide a glimpse into the company’s immediate priorities. Pat McGrath Labs has filed emergency motions asking for permission to pay roughly $426,000 to critical vendors and nearly $690,000 in employee wages and salaries. These steps are designed to keep the lights on and the staff paid while the court reviews the broader restructuring plan.

The fall from grace has been steep. After a $60 million investment in 2018 propelled the brand to “unicorn” status, subsequent years saw a steady decline in market value.
