The Daily Buzz For May 6☕📰☕

#FASHIONFAB: Beyoncé Wows in Glitzy Olivier Rousteing-Designed Dress at 2026 Met Gala
The 'Cowboy Carter’ singer, a co-chair of the night’s gala, posed on the carpet with daughter Blue Ivy, making her return to fashion’s biggest night after a decade.

After a decade away, Queen B made a royal return to the Met Gala on Monday, bringing the carpet to a halt as she made her grand entrance.
Beyoncé, who serves as a co-chair for this year’s event alongside Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour, last attended the famed fashion outing in 2016 while wearing Givenchy Haute Couture for the “Manus x Machina” theme.
“It feels surreal because my daughter’s here,” Beyoncé told Vogue on the red carpet when asked what it was like to be back. The singer emphasized how beautiful her daughter looked.
“This is incredible to be able to share it with her,” she continued, seemingly getting emotional over the moment. The pair posed together on the red carpet, with the 14-year-old looking just as cool as her mother in a pair of trendy shades.

This time around, the Cowboy Carter singer was dripping in jewels. The Grammy Award-winning singer wore a diamond-encrusted dress made to look like a skeleton and a matching headpiece. The ensemble was designed by Olivier Rousteing, the former head of Balmain. “[He’s] someone that’s been so loyal to me, and I’ve done so many incredible, iconic looks with him, so it’s really about representing him,” the singer told Vogue on the carpet.

At the top of the steps, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy also took a moment to pose for a family photo, standing alongside rapper Jay-Z.
The 2026 theme is “Costume Art,” tied to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring Costume Institute exhibition of the same name, which “examines the centrality of the dressed body throughout time and culture, juxtaposing garments and works of art from across the Museum’s vast collection to create pairings that highlight the indivisible connection between clothing and the body,” per The Met.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos are also on hand this year as honorary chairs, and the Gala Host Committee is co-chaired by Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz, with members including Adut Akech, Angela Bassett, Sinéad Burke, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Rebecca Hall, Blackpink’s Lisa, Chloe Malle, Aimee Mullins, Tschabalala Self, Amy Sherald, Sam Smith, Chase Sui Wonders, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson and Yseult.

The 2026 Met Gala was held on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

#RHOA: Porsha Williams Discusses Demise of ‘Real’ Friendship With Co-Star Shamea Morton; ‘She Did Something So Low Down’

In Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we had a front row seat to watch Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton blow up a lifelong friendship. Unfortunately, it sounds like it’s only gotten worse since filming Season 17.

The season kicked off with them still on shaky ground, but they agreed that they could coexist in the friend group. According to Porsha, things are about to take a hard left in the upcoming episodes, and there might be no turning back.
Porsha sat down with Carlos King on the Reality with The King podcast, and he did a pulse check on how things were going between her and Shamea. In short: not good. Porsha didn’t even want to talk about her former bestie.

Porsha said, “I shy away from talking about Shamea in recent interviews just because in Season 17 she did something so low down, so disrespectful, so hurtful, and so unwarranted that I just do shy away from speaking about her.”

Of course, Porsha couldn’t say exactly what happened. We’ll have to keep watching Season 17 to get all of that tea. She did, however, say that whatever happened felt like it came out of nowhere. She also clapped back at the ongoing theory that she wasn’t supportive of Shamea when she first got her peach.

“I always rooted for it. It’s all I wanted in the beginning for her,” Porsha claimed. “It’s all I would root for behind the scenes for her.”
According to Porsha, she came into Season 17 feeling that same way. With such a large cast, she thought they could coexist. Somewhere along the line, things got messy again.

“Just because she and I are not close or have any relationship doesn’t mean we can’t be on the show and just coexist, so I tried to do that to the best of my ability,” Porsha explained.
“But it did get very bad in the end of the show. She ended up bringing something, and I was like, ‘This is out of the blue,'” she recalled.
These days, Porsha says she’s moved on, but we have a feeling we haven’t heard the last of this.

#HipHopNews: Offset & Quavo Linkup In Studio, Migos Comeback Speculation Grows
Offset and Quavo have been spotted in the studio together, for the first time in a long time.
Fans have been demanding for the former Migos members to put their differences aside and cook up in the booth, and it looks like that might finally be happening. Offset recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo that appeared to show him linking up with Quavo during a studio session.

There’s still no official confirmation on what the meetup means. It’s unclear whether this is the start of a full out Migos reunion or just a casual link-up, Set could’ve pulled up on Huncho while he was working.

Just days earlier, both artists hinted that something could be on the way, sparking speculation online about a possible new Migos project
“Warriors never fold. Jobs not finished. TAKEOFF ALBUM. UNC N PHEW 2. LAST ????? ALBUM. REAL MIGO BLOOD RUN IN MY VIENS!!!! AIN’T NO NEW CHAPTER JUST THE NEXT ONE!!!”

Fans quickly locked in on the “last ????? album,” line, with many believing Quavo could be teasing a final Migos project, possibly another installment in the Culture series.
Offset added to the speculation, posting a photo of the trio and captioning it, “On dat!!!”
The last time Migos released music together was in 2021. The following year, the group suffered a huge loss with the passing of Takeoff.

Whether this turns into new music or not, seeing Quavo back in the same room is a moment the world has been waiting on, and it could be the first step toward something bigger.

Taraji P. Henson Calls Out Celebs Attending Bezos-Backed Met Gala: “WTF Are We Doing?”

Taraji P. Henson is speaking out as controversy builds around this year’s Met Gala.
The actress took to social media to question why celebrities are still attending the high-profile event, which is being backed by billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez. Her comments came in response to a viral video criticizing the gala’s ties to Bezos and the messaging around it.

“I am so confused by some ppl that are going. I am just like WTF ARE WE DOING!?!?!?!” Henson wrote, echoing growing criticism surrounding the event.
The 2026 Met Gala has been facing backlash due to Bezos’ involvement as a major sponsor, with critics pointing to issues like wealth inequality and broader political concerns.

Henson isn’t alone. Several high-profile figures have either spoken out or opted not to attend, fueling speculation that the event is becoming increasingly polarizing within the entertainment and fashion worlds.
Despite the criticism, the Met Gala — long considered fashion’s biggest night — is still expected to draw major names, even as debate continues online over who should — and shouldn’t — show up.

Chef testifies Diggs slapped, choked her in Dedham home
The woman accusing Stefon Diggs of assaulting her in December 2025 claims they had a sexual relationship before she became his personal chef.

Adams stated she first linked up with Diggs via Instagram message four and a half years ago when he asked her to cook for him.
Adams called their interactions "complicated" ... as they started out as friends, but it "became sexual." She said they would meet up and hang out before he offered her a job February 2025, where she would live with him and cook meals for $2,000 a week.
The chef said she's skilled with recovery ... and her focus was to get Diggs healthy during his "comeback year."

Adams said she lived at Diggs' home from July until December.
But toward the end of November, she said there was friction inside Diggs' circle ... when a friend of his child's mother claimed Adams was spreading information about him sleeping with a woman on his staff named Lindsay.

Adams explained Diggs confronted her over the matter ... and Lindsay was upset that the chef was working inside the house.
Adams claimed she did not know the extent of Lindsay's duties for Diggs ... only that he pays her rent and works for him in some capacity.
Adams stated she was told she could not go with Diggs and his staff on a trip to Miami due to all the drama with Lindsay.
Adams stated the day of the alleged assault, she told Diggs she was upset she was not going to Art Basel ... as she had been making plans with his girlfriend, Cardi B.

She went on to detail the alleged argument with Diggs that led to the physical altercation ... and claimed she was so scared from it, she wet herself and was bleeding from her menstrual cycle.
Adams said she then packed her bags and got out of town for a trip to NYC with another staffer ... but handed over birthday gifts to Diggs before she left. She claimed she did not tell the other staffer about what happened because she, too, had her own sexual relationship with Diggs.

Video from the week following the alleged attack was shown in court ... showing no visible markings on Adams' face.
Adams said when she went to police, she deleted some text messages before handing over their conversations to officials ... out of "fear of how they would be perceived."

Kid Cudi Kicks M.I.A. Off His Tour After She’s Booed By Crowd For Going On Rant About ‘Illegal’ People & Being A Republican
Kid Cudi announced that he has fired the Paper Planes artist as one of the openers on his “Rebel Ragers Tour” following a weekend performance at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, where M.I.A. went on a politically charged rant. Videos circulating online show the viral moment, with comments including, “I’ve been canceled for many reasons. I never thought I would be canceled for being a brown Republican voter.” M.I.A. also added, “I can’t do ‘Illegal,’ though some of you could be in the audience.”

Following the backlash, fans expressed disappointment over the set, and Cudi confirmed he had heard the complaints loud and clear. In a statement shared to his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “M.I.A is no longer on this tour. I told my management to send a notice to her team before we started tour that I didnt want anything offensive at my shows, cuz I already knew what time it was, and I was assured things were understood.” He continued, “I’ve been flooded with messages from fans that were upset by her rants. This, to me, is very disappointing and I wont have someone on my tour making offensive remarks that upsets my fanbase.” #MIA has not yet responded to the situation.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Skips Met Gala, Opts to Celebrate Fashion Industry Workers
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani lived up to his word and did not attend the 2026 Met Gala.
Mamdani announced that he wanted to spend the first Monday in May, the date of the annual Met Gala, celebrating the “thousands of workers behind the scenes” in the fashion industry.

“The fashion industry is made possible by the thousands of workers behind the scenes—seamstresses, tailors, retail workers, delivery drivers—whose immense talent and dedication deserves to be celebrated,” Mamdani told i-D.
His office put a spotlight on six professionals in the fashion industry in a social media post sharing their respective stories and accomplishments.

After learning to cut and sew at the age of 10, Hafeez Raza now owns a shop in Brooklyn. At 13 years old, Christoper Anderson was told by his family to pick a trade, and he went with tailoring. The decision proved to be a wise one, as he is now the master tailor at Saks Fifth Avenue. Anderson has also assumed the role of shop steward for the union representing Saks employees, Workers United.

Learn about former Amazon warehouse workers and delivery drivers Latrice Johnson and Lamont Hopewell, free tailoring school founder Sonia Castrejón, and Macy’s employee and union executive board member Earnestine Gay below.
“From true love found on the picket line to a free tailoring school out of a Brooklyn basement—meet the New Yorkers who make it all possible,” the caption reads.
Mamdani confirmed in an interview with Hell Gate last month that he and his wife, Rama Duwaji, would not be attending the Met Gala.

“My focus is also on affordability and making the most expensive city in the United States affordable, and that's what I'm looking to spend a lot of my time focused on,” he said.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Reach Settlement In 'It Ends With Us' Legal Battle

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have settled their differences after an almost a year-and-a-half long legal battle over the actor’s alleged behavior on the set of the hit film It Ends With Us.
Multiple outlets have now reported that the sides have come to an agreement two weeks before a trial was scheduled to commence.TMZ reports that no money will be exchanged.

"The end product – the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind," a joint statement reads, per Fox News.
"We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online."

Complex has reached out to attorneys for both Baldoni and Lively for more information.
In December, 2024, Lively sued her It Ends With Us co-star and director Baldoni for sexual harassment. She alleged that in addition to “repeated sexual harassment” on the movie’s set by Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath, that Baldoni engaged in a plan to destroy the actress’ reputation.

“Mr. Baldoni and his…associates embarked on a sophisticated press and digital plan in retaliation for Ms. Lively exercising her legally-protected right to speak up about their misconduct on the set, with the additional objective of intimidating her and anyone else from revealing in public what actually occurred,” the complaint read.

Baldoni in turn filed a countersuit accusing Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds of civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy. He also sued the New York Times for reporting on Lively’s allegations, accusing the publication of “disregarding journalistic practices and ethics once befitting of the revered publication by using doctored and manipulated texts and intentionally omitting texts which dispute their chosen PR narrative.” All of those claims were eventually dismissed.

Lively’s suit ran into issues as well, when a federal judge dismissed most of the claims early last month. The parties were set to begin trial on May 18 over the remaining claims, which included retaliation and breach of contract.

Randy Jackson’s Appearance on ‘American Idol’ Reunion Episode Sparks Concern Among Fans
Randy Jackson is the guest mentor on the May 4, 2026 episode of American Idol and his appearance is sparking concern among his fans.
The 69-year-old record executive, who was one of the original judges on the singing competition series, appeared to be frail and soft-spoken while mentoring the Top 5 contestants.

Randy sat in a chair while helping contestants with their contestants and fans are noting he was speaking slower than usual.
Back in 2022, Randy talked about his health journey and gave an update on maintaining his 100+ pound weight loss. He underwent gastric bypass surgery over two decades ago after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

“It’s a great jump starter. You lose a bunch of weight really fast, but maintaining’s another thing because you get there and your mind tells you, ‘Okay, phew. I’m here now. I can start to party and bring out the cheesecakes.'”

Randy was feeling healthier than ever just a few years ago.
“I think if I had not figured it all out, I would’ve gained at least half, if not more, of that weight back. And I’m proud to know that we did something that helps me, that helps everyone else, and takes the guesswork out of it for everybody.”
-Randy Jackson, People

We hope that Randy is doing okay!

Britney Spears’ DUI Charge Vanishes After Plea Deal as Strict Conditions Kick In

Pop star Britney Spears resolved her recent legal case on Monday after reaching an agreement that spares her a DUI conviction but places her under strict court supervision.
According to court proceedings in Ventura County, the misdemeanor DUI charge initially filed against Spears was reduced to a lesser offense of “wet reckless” as part of a negotiated plea deal with prosecutors. The resolution allows Spears to avoid a formal DUI conviction, though it carries significant conditions.

Under the agreement, Spears will serve 12 months of probation and must comply with several restrictions, including refraining from possessing drugs without a valid prescription. Any violation during this probationary period could result in further legal consequences, including possible jail time.

Her attorney, Michael Goldstein, addressed the outcome in a statement, saying, “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct. She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”

Spears did not appear in court for the hearing, which took place Monday morning, and was represented by legal counsel. The plea agreement also requires her to complete a DUI education program and pay mandated fines and fees.

The charge stemmed from a March arrest, followed by a period in rehabilitation. Authorities had previously alleged that Spears was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
